The docs who refuse to sign medical releases shd have their names published. If they want felons to stay in Germany, their fellow citizens shd know.

7 "As far as the tragedy in France is concerned, obviously this is an act of mayhem and despicable. But I also have to tell you - and our prayers are with the families, obviously, and the French people - but I also have to tell you, that as long as we have a leadership in this country, the president of the United States, who allowed this to happen, his policies are directly responsible for ISIS and ISIS is responsible for these attacks," McCain said onArizona radio station KTAR.

In response to JROD:

In Clark County (home of Las Vegas and most Nevada voters), the GOP central committee is filled with idjits. For almost a decade control has flipped between "our way or nothing" Trump/Paul supporters and supporters of the squish (though politically successful) Governor. At the moment, the Trump people are the establishment.

In the rural counties, they are Trump acolytes.

Nevada was the one Senate contest where the GOP could have picked up... now, we are doomed along with the rest of the country to absolute DOOM.

20 Something that was said that need repeating regarding the plagerism claim:

You aren't looking at the situation in a political way.

The question is not whether this is actually is a big deal or not.

The question is if the Democrats and the media will convince the LIVs that is it a big deal.

Logic and/or reason is irrelevant. Politics is about feelz not realz.

Heck, just look at Romney and the "binders of women". It was not only nothing, but it showed that he was engaging in Affirmative Action to include women. Yet, despite facts and logics, it was used as a devistating weapon against him.

It's not about truth, logic, facts, or even what you think. It's about what the Left can trick the LIVs to think.

OK, it looks like Zone Alarm has become toxic.

It told me there was a "zOMG" security alert.

It then delted a browser I used for the AoSHQ

I reintsalled the browse, but the core file kept on disappearing.

I updated security alterts with Windows and all of the sudden some programs wouldn't load and I didn't have internet connectivity.

I de-installed the updates, and the problems persisted.

I de-installed Zone Alamn and everyting became fine.

I tried re-installing Zone Alarm and the computer DERPed with the final screan not showing anything after loading beyond the background color.

I was able to purge the computer of Zone Alarm and everthing seems fine.

Just a warning to all of you out there...

IN a chilling face-to-face encounter televised on a state-run network, Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte told a prominent businessman that he would be executed if it was proven that he was a drug kingpin, as alleged by authorities.

"I warned you that I will have you killed. I will really have you killed. If I'm able to prove (you're a drug lord), I will finish you off," Duterte told Cebuano-Chinese businessman Peter Lim at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) office in Davao City on Friday, The Philippine Star reported.

You assume whether she did or not is important.

It's all about the narrative that the Left can sell.

The question that everyone who isn't a Proggie must ask of thenmself: "Is what I say or do exploitable by the Left".

Truth and reality are irrelavent. It is all about the "narrative".

Networks Warn of 'Dark,' 'Divisive' Night at GOP Convention

During live coverage of the Republican National Convention, Monday, the three networks chided the "dark" and "divisive" tone of the GOP's opening night. CBS's Bob Schieffer offered a closing commentary in which he suggested Trump in 2016 could end up like the landslide losses of 1964 and 1972. Regarding a single Code Pink protester, ABC's Terry Moran blamed, "It was the kind of unsettled emotions that Donald Trump has sparked in many people around the country."

Regarding "a grieving mother of one of the dead from Benghazi," Moran warned, "It's been a dark night, in many ways from the podium, and it's that kind of emotion that one feels here." Over on NBC, veteran anchor Tom Brokaw chided, "Even with Mrs. Trump saying what she said, it's a pretty divisive message. There was no attempt to really pull the country together."

56 The contrast between Mooch & Melania is amazing.

Aside from Ugly vs Beautiful:

One was born in America, showered with opportunity and yet is resentful of America. She gets to go to Princeton ad her thesis is full of complaints and resentment. The only time she's proud of her country is when it installs her as FLOTUS. She spends millions of taxpayer money trying to convince herself she is as well-dressedand good-looking as her sycophants tell her she is. Like her husband she has to be the star everywhere, traipsing around the world in expensive vacations with sulky looking kids in tow.

The other was born outside America but loves America. Rich & beautiful all she wants to is to stay home and raise her kid and be a wife. She has nothing to prove. I can see why the Left hates her.

Trump has always been an insider. What we're seeing is the consolidation of power by the GOPe with Trump as an excuse and a willing ally and the near-complete marginalization of Constitutional Conservatives.

A popular line among Trump supporters was that he had the right enemies. Well, right now his enemies include Mike Lee, Ken Cuccinelli, Thomas Sowell, Mark Levin, and a lot of grassroots delegates. His friends include Reince Priebus, Paul Boehner, Bob Dole... People might want to reexamine that "right enemies" line.

73 *Did Melania copy Mooch, or did they just repeat the same trite phrases that anybody with nothing to say would?*

They both used trite cliches. The problem is that Melania said it so much better, and sexier, that it just highlights how strident and grating Mooch is even when she's spouting pleasantries.

---No Republican campaign can afford amateur hour mistakes. In the end, Melania's speech will be remembered by the masses of LIV as being copied from that of Michelle Obama. This will be part of the received wisdom for some people, who will use it to forever discount whatever Melania has to say.Its an unforced error that appears to be indicative of the Trump campaign.

Bush pushing back against Dan Rather in 1998. As in '88, Trump's base will absolutely love it, and hopefully the media will be so incensed at the Donald, they'll quickly forget this minor not-ready-for-primetime gaffe.

Ideological diversity can be great. What we're seeing here are two diametrically opposed philosophies. The differences are numerous but among the key ones are:

one group wants limited government; a less powerful executive; free trade

one group wants (or is fine with) big government; a very, very powerful executive; no free trade

These are not divisions that can be papered over, which is what we're seeing now.

They blurred out a patch over the nipple area, implying they were shown, but they weren't. That's sort of like bleeping someone to make it sound like they were cussin' when they weren't.

She's been nekkid for photos, but doesn't show anything good. Well, her whole body is pretty damn good of itself, but you know what I mean.

They made Trump, now they need to stand by him, but they won't. They have temper tantrums, and childish fits.

The disaster that sunk 16 PROFESSIONAL politicians campaigns.

Ah, but you see, it's not that Trump's campaign was so good, it's that all the flag-waving, meth-head Bible-thumping rubes decided to let out a collective howl of rage - a temper tantrum, you might say - and so, in the process, kicked to the curb good, solid, conservative candidates in favor of a carny huckster who has no talent beyond an incomprehensible hairdo and a foul mouth. If those sister-screwing racists had turned off their talk radios and listened to the wise counsel of statesmen like Paul Ryan, the GOP would at this moment be preparing to nominate a dynamic, forceful candidate like Jeb or Rubio or Cruz who would galvanize the electorate and sail to victory over a demoralized Democrat party and muzzled MFM.

224 One thing is clear from reading the comments here...Republicans are not as intelligent as Dems when it comes to politics, optics, and news cycles. The plagiarism story is all that's being discussed this morning. What makes the charge stick is that they lifted this section from another First Lady, lol. The speechwriters watched Michelle Obama and cribbed this portion. And what makes the story last is that idiot Manafort going on the morning shows and denying what the video clearly shows. I'm voting for Trump but any realist can see that this is the absolute worst campaign run in American political history. Whether it's intentionally bad to give Hillary the White House is up for debate.

Millions watched the convention last night. These are the voters needed to win an election. Only a small fraction are political junkies who follow every nuance.

MSNBC is all over this Melania thing, but the viewership of "Morning Joe" is under 400K, none of who will switch their votes for anything.

Don't panic. If you understood the numbers, you would know how insignificant this is.

Posted by: jwest at July 19, 2016 09:15 AM (Zs4uk)

286 Oh Boy, in his latest tv appearance, Manafort came close to blaming Melania. I

And the problem with the cribbed portion is that it's all about "hard work" and "honesty." It's just too easy a story to not resonate.

Posted by: dweeb at July 19, 2016 09:15 AM (cxyn3)

287 From Fox News:

"And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: like, you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond, that you do what you say you're going to do, that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them and even if you don't agree with them."
/Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention, 2008

Meanwhile, this was found in personal papers in an attic in upstate New York:

"Millard and I were reared with many of the same values. You toil hard for what you want out of life, that your word is your bond, that you do what you say you're going to do, that you treat people with respect and dignity, even if they are not known to you and even if they disagree with you."
/Abigail Fillmore in an address to the Philadelphia Women's Alliance in 1852.

Seems pretty similar to me. But then I made it up out of whole cloth.

All his bumbling has gotten him the GOP nomination with almost no money spent.

A wise choice. Since things are done through primaries there is little need for the convention except as a traditional party for the Party. Hence, there is little excitement that is not manufactured.

Speaking of manufactured excitement, has anyone had his or her arm torn off yet? Or was that just an event for the primaries?

369 It's been shameful and embarrassing to watch the insularity and venom of the nevertrump movement, to realize that many conservatives are exactly what the left has been telling me they are my entire life: hysterical, paranoid, holier than thou reactionaries who substitute conviction for facts.

Now stalwarts of the party for whom I expended years worth of social capital defending George W Bush from accusations of being an idiot and a poor public speaker are tut-tutting about the appearance of indecorum with regard to pablum in a first lady speech. Even through the facade of their new role of muttering midwives, sternly warning of the coming storm we've all brought on their heads by our sins, they can't contain their glee at this misstep.

I see nevertrump doing two things: amplifying and legitimizing the left's narrative; and insulting those who won't accept their recriminations and doomsaying.

Please keep spiting the nominee by attacking his wife. I want everyone to see what you are.

Red meat, served up in heaping portions.

This is the convention we've been waiting for.

I didn't see anything in these speeches that we haven't seen in past speeches at past conventions.

I guess I just don't get the point of all of it now. I'm not sure it really has much of an effect. A few speeches sure, but I think these conventions would actually help more if there was more policy discussion and debate than simply listening to "red meat" speeches.

Most of them have surrendered and have been co-opted. Which is the normal course of things. Some continue to fight, having finally found a hill to die on.*

I think it is revealing that those who remain opposed to Trump receiving the nomination have been so vocal about their opposition and have been so vocal about how they plan to deny him the nomination. And then they act all surprised and indignant when the Trump campaign shuts them right down, not permitting them to upstage Trump. I say "act all surprised and indignant" because if they were such clever rules gurus they had to know that they were not going to be permitted to even begin.

*Opposing Democrats = No hill to die on.
Opposing the candidate who won via the primaries = The hill to die on.

Trump has disadvantages, that is true, but the Anti-Trump folks never see the reverse, he has advantages no other GOP candidate has. That is the media cannot ignore him when post a video of Hillary as a Pokemon Go character on this twitter feed.

Millions watched the convention last night. These are the voters

439 Hey my buddy called and said he got up late and wanted to know WTF happened. He heard that Trump"s wife stole state secrets and was involved in killing some guy named Vince Foster.
LIV Nation is, if you can adjust your mind to it, endlessly amusing.

440 >>I find the combativeness a refreshing change from "I'd be voting for the Mocha Messiah there if I wasn't standing here" routine we got in 08 and 12....

Your right, we watched different conventions. Aside from the fat fuck from Jersey, everyone hammered Obama last convention including Clint and his empty chair routine.

But hey, Trump has the RNC behind him now, shutting down floor motions, so we'll see how the great outsider does in November. And yes, I do agree that Trump would be voting for Hillary if he wasn't the nominee. I think he was the only candidate we had who actually donated to her campaigns and had her at his wedding. I'm sure we will all forget that now that he calls her names.

I'll pull the lever for him but that is the limit of my enthusiasm.

441 Just because a Mohammedan murders people while yelling "Allah Akbar" does not mean it's an act of Islamic terrorism.

We'll tell you when it's terrorism.
=========
Well, to be fair, "allah akbar" literally translates as "my motives are unclear."

So when a Asian youth yells "allah akbar!" as he is killing unarmed women and children, what he is saying is, "my motives are unclear!!"

Is this the same guy who got the most votes in a primary in ever?

Who did they poll for approval ratings? 100% democrats?

you do know that getting a ton of primary votes is often a counter-indicator to general election success?

My original point wasn't even a pro-Trump / anti-Trump point. It was that thus far, with respect to the speeches, we have seen nothing different that what you see every 4 years. So I ask, do these speeches really do anything? How many speeches are necessary? I think these conventions would be better if they were ... actual conventions - with debates. You can have a keynote speaker or two a night, but do you need 10?

****

I can see you have been doing serious stretching to achieve that kind of pretzel status.

445 Sometimes less is more. Could it be that these conventions would be better if the number of speakers was limited?

Posted by: SH at July 19, 2016 10:01 AM (gmeXX)

446
Don't panic. If you understood the numbers, you would know how insignificant this is.
===================================

The problem is that most people do not watch the convention and get the highlights the next day on the news and this is the only thing getting traction.

447 267 >>If we had the right infrastructure in our party, there would have been a crack research staff putting together video of the hundreds of speeches that came before Michelle Obama's that used the same phrases.

Right now on CNN, that fat fuck Barry Bennett who used to be part of the Trump campaign, is doing his damnedest to throw the campaign under the bus and saying categorically the speech was plagiarized.

Perhaps you should worry more about the Trump campaign organization that the RNC.

He'll probably be sued, I hope.

448 If Obama and Biden can plagiarize Deval Patrick and Neil Kinnock speeches, Melania can crib a little from Michelle.

It's not like a judge-bombing cop-killing terrorist wrote her autobiography or something.

As I have often said, "It's only words. And words are all I have to steal..."

Posted by: The Gipper Lives at July 19, 2016 11:11 AM (Ndje9)

449 Funny; the Times didn't complain when Obama plagiarized his foreign policy from the Ayatollah Khomeini and his domestic policy from Mao's Red Guard.

Posted by: The Gipper Lives at July 19, 2016 11:20 AM (Ndje9)

450 So Melenia is claiming she wrote a speech the speechwriters wrote for her.
** No, i don't care that the boilerplate speech was boilerplate and therefore reminiscent of every other boilerplate speech...
But lets not pretend someone else's work is yours, ok?

And Trump is claiming he chose Cleveland once he had the votes; which was chosen in 2014 by the RNC.
Again... maybe don't take the work of others; especially when it's this easy to show you're somehow incapable of puzzling out what the facts are?
I'm probably asking too much, asking that the GOP candidate be cognizant that facts exist, and aren't that hard to find... aren't I?

We'll still get a wall; I mean if we can't trust the guy lying to us every day, who can we trust? Wait, is that right?

Sure he's now cozying up with the Establishment; who are working to protect him. But they're not anti-wall or pro-illegal immigrant and they'd never ask for anything in return... so I'm sure it;'s all good. Right?

If the plan was to make me feel better about Trump?
Well, I feel better that I'm in Colorado and the delegates from my state left... Does that count?
