I am going to one of those stand alone places and it will cost me $600 as compared to $2000 if done at a hospital. My doctor said, though, that if you go to those places for a MRI of anything BUT knees you are wasting time and money. The magnets they use are significantly weaker and so the readings they give on hands or feet are useless - knees are OK because they are large joints. My old bike kinda fell apart on me last summer and I was going to get a new one, but I decided to do the city rental bike thing instead. However, I use my bike for one thing only - going on the bike trail and getting an hour's worth of enjoyable exercise. There is a stand near my place right by the bike trail so I never have to get on the street. Unfortunately sigh no bike riding for me right now. What is really stupid is when I looked up online where the stands are in Milwaukee (here they are called Bublr bikes) Many of them are in the hood.
