Nigel Farage's Life's Work Comes to Fruition as the UK Votes for Brexit

For over 25 years he's been relentlessly making the case that Britain should leave the EU, a position long considered so extremist and out there that it was simply unthinkable. But last week a majority of Britons agreed with him and voted for Brexit.

Few men have endured the sheer amount of official scorn, mockery, revilement, and unhinged criticism over the years that Farage has. But he persevered on anyway. His entire life has been one giant unsafe place and stands in rebuke to all the university snowflakes who get the vapors at even a hint of disagreement. Ironically without a seat in parliament to fall back to his very success in getting Britain to leave the EU could mean the end of his political career at least for a while.

The EU's Potemkin Democratic Structure

It's an oligarchy in all but name. Most of its intrusive rules come from unelected bureaucrats and are never put to a vote.

Jean-Claude Juncker has been the president of the European Commission for the last couple of years. He presides over a population of nearly 500 million -- well, 500 million minus 64 million as of today.

Do you know how he was elected? He wasn't.

His fellow commissioners, all baker's dozen of them, went into a room, closed the door, and appointed him. As with all European commissioners, the people didn't hire him, nor can the people fire him.

Like all commissioners, he lives tax-free at public expense and enjoys an essentially unlimited expense account.

The EU has never presented the world with a certified budget, because it is so rife with corruption that the accountants cannot get (or are told not to get) to the bottom of it.

The UK's Probable Future Prime Minister Was Hounded by America's IRS For So Long That, in Disgust, He Renounced His Dual American Citizenship Last Year

Because Boris Johnson was born in the US and lived there for several years as a child the IRS came after him nearly 50 years later demanding back taxes for his income and house sale in Britain.

The air marshals, whose identities are being concealed, told 7NEWS that they're required to submit at least one report a month. If they don't, there's no raise, no bonus, no awards and no special assignments.

"Innocent passengers are being entered into an international intelligence database as suspicious persons, acting in a suspicious manner on an aircraft . and they did nothing wrong," said one federal air marshal.

There's a new movie based on the events leading to Elvis meeting Nixon in the famous photo. But this has already been done in the hilarious 1997 movie, Elvis Meets Nixon, which unfortunately is very hard to find on the net or buy a copy of. I ended up having to buy a VHS copy off of Ebay.

Here's a scene from it where Elvis ends up robbing a donut shop after flying to DC on a whim in order to become an FBI agent.

Too bad the GOP doesn't even have half a brain to hire people like Farage to spread the message to the masses.

I first noticed Farage after he became an MEP and berated Rompuy as the guy with the "charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk". Since then, I've seen him debate the likes of Nick Clegg and David Cameron, and he also shared the stage with Mark Steyn at least once. 37 The Journ O List programming of the MSM Democrats with Bylines, has been so obvious, so over the top and in your face, with every word and nuance they announce as regards the BREXIT victory.

Scripted, disciplined, precise marching orders are being obeyed in newsrooms, not only coast to coast, but pole to pole and from the Prime Meridian to the International Date Line.

Leviathan is the strong Pimp Hand keeping the Media Whores in line, and now days, doesn't even have to threaten a slap, much less raise it's hand.

And the LiVs, the bastard offsprings of the incestuous coupling of Leviathan and the Media, follow their breeding and rearing in letter perfect conformity.

They're not only "othering" us and our kind, they're practicing by "othering" their own internal competition.

If you've ever known people who work for federal or state agencies you won't be surprised by this. This is how bureaucracies work. Some bureaucrat carries out policies by setting up arbitrary numbers (goals) that must be met. If the numbers or goals don't work in reality, too bad. They don't bother to adjust them or be more flexible because these drones are going to keep their jobs, and probably be promoted, regardless.

Speaking of which:

Series 11 of Red Dwarf will "officially" arrive on Dave in September 2016, which reunites fan favourites Rimmer (Chris Barrie), Lister (Craig Charles), Cat (Danny John-Jules) and Kryten (Robert Llewellyn). Doug Naylor returns to producer.

Rimmer accidentally saves the life of a Space Corps Captain and is promoted to officer, while Cat takes time off from being in love with himself to fall in love with a female cat with a secret. In the meantime, Lister wakes up to discover a deranged droid has stolen some of his body parts and Kryten has a mid-life crisis and considers leaving the Dwarfers for a younger crew. The posse also find themselves in an alternative America where modern technology is outlawed, making both Kryten and Rimmer illegal.

I have rescue dogs, pamper em first class. Figure they deserve to see the upside of life after all the Hell they've been through.

When you clean up and search a populated area in the aftermath of a sudden natural disaster.......you find the pets.

When you're looking for human beings, after a while, the rest becomes routine.

Until you get home.

You do realize the free market has fixes for that...all it's really done is add $10 for the spout kit and $2 for the half-inch spade bit to the price of a gas can.

When you're shopping those used cars, be careful of any PZEVs you run into - the difference between conventional Tier 2 or whatever smog controls and PZEV is largely in the evaporative system - and they can have some terrifyingly expensive fuel system plumbing, seals, fuel pumps, gas tanks. Check parts pricing carefully.

It has templated OS "qubes" that pop up ready and able to do stuff -- and can be suborned and infected with viruses/malware, etc. But when you close the window, no changes are saved. If you open another one, it re-spawns one off the template. You set the level of trust of each respawn based on what you want to do with it -- the templates, themselves are essentially read-only. In addition, all of your hardware is VM'd -- most notably, the internet.

And faulty science, too. Not that faulty science is anything surprising from the gerbil worming alarmists. An electric kettle has its heating element immersed in the water being heated. All the energy consumed goes into the water, and some inevitably escapes into the surrounding air as the water heats the casing of the kettle, and steam is evolved. Those same losses occur with a kettle on a gas or electric range, but in the case of a kettle on a range, some of the heat from the burner or element goes directly into the air, and never warms the kettle. Advantage: electric kettle.

131 >> 2) Toilets that cannot flush a single ply toilet sheet.

Interestingly enough, some 1.6-liter toilets do a great job, and some are horrible.

We have a Duravit (wall-mounted European thing with a tank up in the wall) in the master bathroom, and between the bowl/trap design and the pressure head of the high-mounted tank I thnk it's plugged twice in the past twelve years.

We have an American Standard pressure-bomb toilet in the hall bathroom that can also flush just about anything, though it sounds like a mortar round hitting the pin when you flush it. That bathroom's due for a remodel soon and I'm trying to figure out how to get one of the in-wall Duravits in there.

We also have a cheap Toto in the third bath, and it plugs at least once a week even though it's the least-used of the three. If I didn't have a list of round tuits about fourteen pages long it'd have been gone by now.

137 Qubes OS is a security-oriented, Fedora-based desktop Linux distribution whose main concept is "security by isolation" by using domains implemented as lightweight Xen virtual machines. It attempts to combine two contradictory goals: how to make the isolation between domains as strong as possible, mainly due to clever architecture that minimises the amount of trusted code, and how to make this isolation as seamless and easy as possible.

Oh, shower heads.

By law a shower head's not supposed to flow more than 2.5 gallons per minute, right?

So every new or remodeled home you see has three showerheads in the shower. Not to mention the body sprays.

Our master shower has only one showerhead, but it's a big one, and the restrictor orifice was visited by a 5/16in drill bit before it went in. Works a treat.

Quite famously, Consumer Reports is involved with a couple of these. In something like 1985, they had a bunch of clothes washers rated as "79/100" -- within 5 years, nothing was better than 65.....but did they note that the EPA had changed clothes washer standards?????

And, even more on-point, they did a test of shower heads where one came out clearly superior. They, then, tested it for EPA water-use standards and it failed. Rather than let its paid subscribers know which one to buy, they chose to rat the manufacturer out to the EPA before telling its subscribers -- which kind of "outed" them as to where their loyalties lied.

No, this isn't THAT kind of European toilet. This one has a normal bowl.

There was a plumbing site somewhere that once compared the US and European approach to 1.6-liter toilets - the US mfrs have a bigger water spot, so more water in the bowl which leaves less for the flush. The European toilets (and I think the Aussie Caromas) - keep less water in the bowl which leaves more for the flush.

The guy on the site put it as "The difference between a Euro toilet and a US toilet is the difference between a brush and a plunger."

You have to figure some creative Brit will make an induction tea kettle that loses less efficiency than having to go old school.

God love the EUtopians....they swear that using the same electricity per minute to bring water to a boil in 3 minutes is somehow less efficient than bringing water to boil in 7-10 minutes.
Posted by: sven10077 at June 27, 2016 12:41 AM (SzZnW)

It's not the energy the tea kettle uses, it's that tea and toast are downright British. It's about stamping out anything that gives a nation an identity.

If they make it take longer to make the tea, people will just start saying "fuck it" to tea.

Things are changing a little now with LEDs, etc. but for a very long time after Title 24 went in and mandated that the primary lighting in bathrooms and kitchens be flourescent, building contractors carried around their 'final inspection lights' that'd be hung in the bathroom (especially) for the city inspector, then just as quickly removed.

>> 2) Toilets that cannot flush a single ply toilet sheet.

Interestingly enough, some 1.6-liter toilets do a great job, and some are horrible.

We have a Duravit (wall-mounted European thing with a tank up in the
wall) in the master bathroom, and between the bowl/trap design and the
pressure head of the high-mounted tank I thnk it's plugged twice in the
past twelve years.

We have an American Standard pressure-bomb toilet in the hall
bathroom that can also flush just about anything, though it sounds like a
mortar round hitting the pin when you flush it. That bathroom's due
for a remodel soon and I'm trying to figure out how to get one of the
in-wall Duravits in there.

We also have a cheap Toto in the third bath, and it plugs at least
once a week even though it's the least-used of the three. If I didn't
have a list of round tuits about fourteen pages long it'd have been gone
by now.

Posted by: JEM at June 27, 2016 12:38 AM (o+SC1)

We were so pleased at the performance of our first American Standard "Cadet" 1.6 gpf that we actually changed-out the other 1955-era standard flush for an identical unit. Unfortunately, a few years later the tank got leaned-on and broke where the bolts go through.....and you can't easily buy 1.6 gpf tanks any more in California [I eventually got one, but everything was, IIRC, 1.28 gpf].

WND and other news outlets have reported on the case involving three juvenile boys, two from Sudan and one from Iraq, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 5-year-old special-needs girl in the laundry room of the Fawnbrook Apartments in Twin Falls, Idaho.

The incident occurred on June 2, but did not come to light until more than two weeks later when stories began to swirl on social media.

The two older boys from Sudan were arrested on June 17 and released from juvenile detention less than a week later on June 23 pending further court proceedings.

228 So, I have been rewatching a WWI documentary (the Hew Strachan one.)

One thing I do not like is that it uses the same kind of format as does the World at War Documentary on WWII. They take one element of the war and then follow it from the beginning to the end of the war. I find this makes it harder to get a sense of how the different elements fit together.

I am wondering why this style is used, when a more chronological format, I think gives you a better sense of the event as a whole. The only thing I can think is for use in a classroom. If you are using the documentary to teach about some specific component of the war, like say the development of tanks or the Armenian Genocide, this way you can give a compartmentalized overview of the subject in question in a smaller way, whereas something like Ken Burns's Civil War makes it harder to use in a classroom because a subject in question may be spread out over several episodes.

267 The micropig article (or rather, the article about the micropig listicle (not to be confused with micropig testicles)) begins:

"In the world of shareable, clickable content, there are two modes: You can be irreverent, young, and hip (and get less shares), or you can appeal to the middle-aged audience that shares the most but is the most easily offended. To get a slice of that sweet pie of conservative readership, you have to avoid any sarcasm, any line pushing, any jokes that could be misconstrued as offensive."

He then goes on to lament the reaction he got that can best be described as classic liberal SJWism gone hog-wild. I don't think many conservatives sit around fretting about micropigs, other than the fact that they don't provide enough meat.

I've found it's much easier - and particularly pisses off the PC brigade - to say, "Benedict is the true pope."

And if you're waiting for the College to grow some stones and kick Frankie Fabulous to the curb, Vic, you're better off waiting for Jesus to come back first. The College is infested with the lavender mafia.

Evidently it has already been implemented a year ago and we didn't even know about it.

There was a unannounced drill s couple of years ago where a national emergency was simulated. All the children from the Denver public schools were bused to the football stadium. Parents had to pick them up there. Parents were pissed off.

Our military is spread out across the globe. Our homeland is defenseless man power wise.

There has been lots of shady shit flying under the radar for a very long time. (IMHO it has everything to do with guns as an endgame)

372 Just Chicago, Rockford and Cairo.

We'll level the goober'mint district of Springfield to the ground. Scatter the stones while the wood is burning and then apply salt to said ground.

Without those 4 cities, Illinois is pure red.

Not just Chicago, you've got to get rid of Crook County. A lot of the surrounding burbs are Dem

BTW, saw the new Independence Day movie. I swear the intro voice over sounded like Hillary Clinton. It wasn't, but it sounded like it. The movie is a mess.

And that ridiculous The Purge: Election Day with its tagline of "Keep America Great" - you might as well call that an in-kind contribution to the Democrat party.

It's overrun with the FSA or those who buy into the leftist agenda. The lefties can't figure out why things are so much more expensive and why the violence is out of control. The blinders they put on to accept the agenda keeps them from seeing the reality in front of them

The only thing missing from your review was the strong female lead character who saves the day. It's sad that creativity has been saddled by PC and SJW bullshit.

Kind of in the same vein, I wonder if by mainstreaming alternate lifestyles, the process of becoming mainstream somehow stunts creativity.

377 When the break-up comes, it isn't going to be on State lines. It will be on rural/urban; watch your county population density to get an idea of whether you need to stay or move.

382 OK, now I know what triggered all of the UN invading the US and websites dredging up that article from last year.

People in PA saw a bunch of UN tactical vehicles on flat bed trucks in a convoy leaving the assembly plant to be shipped overseas.

384 So BBC done fucked up Top Gear but good. Saw a report today that Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc aren't getting along and LeBlanc issued an ultimatum...Evans is fired or LeBlanc quits.

Ratings are also down. I saw the first two episodes of the new series and it's just not the same show.

So congrats, BBC.
