Went to a graduation party yesterday for my cousin's son. My two Deadhead cousins were passing a J and I took a few hits. I was teetotaln' it with the al-kee-hol cause my stomach was acting up all day, so I figured, what the hell.

On the drive home I was suddenly overwhelmed with the desire to hear Pink Floyd's "Dogs." I mean seriously obsessed with it. Just HAD to hear it. I don't have Sirius XM in my truck so I had to wait till I got home to play it.

It was so weird, it's like the whole thing was playing in my head all the way home. And it's a looooong song.

49 What some people may not remember or realize is that Trump had actually run for president before. And gone nowhere. Reform Party, if you want to look it up.

What has changed since then? All the different trade deals cost the economy millions of jobs. Illegal immigration has effected communities all over the country. Islamic terrorism is becoming entrenched. Overdose deaths due to Mexican heroin are skyrocketing.

It's not Trump because of name recognition. He had it back then. It's Trump now, because people are fed up.

In "We have to pass the bill to know what's in it" news, your GOP sneaked this into the defense bill they passed:

The Senate version of the vast military policy bill that now heads to conference with the House would knock out one of the advantages veterans enjoy when they apply for federal work. They would continue to get a leg up over non-veterans to get a foot in the door. But once theyre in government and want to be considered for another federal post, they would no longer go to the head of the hiring queue.

65 Came home from a hike yesterday with a huge container full of mulberries. The trees are just laden with fruit right now. Picked 2 quarts without moving an inch. Just pulled a few branches down to my reach and shoveled them into a 2-qt container with one hand. Problem with mulberries though is that they're extremely perishable. So it looks like we're making jelly today.

Was going to do wild strawberry jam today (enormous patch in a field 5 minutes from my pad) but that will have to wait till next weekend. I ain't doing 2 in one day.

A rare collection of letters written by President Obamas father have been discovered by an archivist in Harlem, New York. The letters by Barack Hussein Obama Sr., first reported by The New York Times on Saturday, put together a timeline of Obamas fathers journey from Kenya to the U.S., on to the University of Hawaii, where he met Obama's mother, and through his graduate studies at Harvard University.

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture now house the nearly two-dozen letters and documents.

The letters, which date from 1958 to 1964, tell stories of needing financial help, of paying for 50-cent hamburgers, and missing his home in Kenya, the Washington Post reported.

86 So, I get an email from a local car dealer that says:

"Let us help you to turn your positive equity into a much needed vacation for you and your family. We will buy your trade at top dollar and get you the vehicle of your choice at the same, if not LOWER, monthly payments. There will be no announcement to the general public."

I owe nothing on my current car. If I take it in and get "top dollar" for it as a trade, and since I pay zero dollars for it now, does that mean I get a new car for no cost?

Mrs. Krebs had an uncle who inherited the family home and left cash all over the place in the form of weekly withdrawal envelopes from his bank, to which we surmise he went regularly just to speak to someone.

He wasn't socially isolated but was in fact a very gregarious guy. He was one of only a handful of adults by whom I tolerated being called by my diminutive name, Krebsy, with the two most prominent others being my parents (especially my Dad).

No worries and no more to fear,
Our faith will be made sight.
It's a glorious land of endless day
Where Jesus is the light.

Got a lot of friends and loved ones there,
And the Savior I will meet.
And I'll lay my crown of jewels down
When I bow at Jesus's feet.

Oh, if that don't make you wanna go, brother-
If that don't make you wanna go, sister-
If that don't make you wanna go to Heaven,
I don't know what does.

Fast forward to Orlando killer, who apparently was able to compartmentalize his activities with gay males in the exact same fashion as Bill Clinton. Enjoy the gratification they provide, while still seeing them as homosexual and worthy of receiving Islamic justice.

214 Observation based on personal opinion:

If, as it seems they are trying one way or another to do, they succeed in nominating someone other than Trump, it will effectively abrogate democracy.

Yeah, I know it sounds drastic and possibly hyperbolic, but the will of the people was made clear in all of the primaries and against a large field of challengers.

If this isn't a declaration of "sure, make your choice. If we don't like it, we'll fix it," what is it?

I shouldn't have to make this caveat, but - I was a Cruz supporter, not a Trump supporter.

But Trump won.

Clinton (apparently) won.

If Clinton were to be indicted, it would probably be understandable for the Dems to replace her in that case, but all indications are that they probably wouldn't.

Trump, would be being replaced based on what he has said that turns some segment of the party off.

That would be like unelecting Nancy Pelosi because she says stupid shit - which she does - daily.

It would also be a kinda huge precedent.

235 Damn. The rivals of Obama's father might have killed some of the people I knew growing up as well. I had no idea they were involved in Kenyan politics.

237 Good morning, fellow morons!

Happy Father's Day to all you Fadda's out there.

It looks to be a beautiful, sunny FD hereabouts, however-

I have a big workday ahead of me, so-

no lazy basking in the glory that is the exalted position and high regard with which the American Father is held in today's world.

249 And if you want some great Mexican comfort food, then head over to downtown Parker and try Las Delicias. The best dish on their menu is Tacos de Carnitas.

250 If you don't mind getting closer to downtown Denver, there's the Buckhorn Exchange, Colorado's oldest restaurant. It's a steakhouse that also serves bison and various game dishes.

If you'd rather not drive into the metropolis, you can take a light rail from the Lincoln Station in Lone Tree, get off at the 10th and Osage Station, and it's right there. It's just outside of the heart of lower downtown.

Here's their website... http://buckhorn.com/

Alternately, if you'd rather drive yourself, and avoid the city traffic, The Fort is another good option. It's also a "historically important" restaurant, housed in a 1960 reconstruction of a trappers' fort from the state's territorial days. They specialize in game dishes. They're located in Morrison, which is a bit of a drive from Centennial, but at least you could avoid a lot of city traffic on the way there.

251 A brilliant, scholarly, complicated, world-class economist who is also a deadbeat dad?

Must have been either a democrat, a drunk, or a Marxist.

252 Thesis:

If there was something out there that would undeniably show the puerile, shallow, Gestapo-like elements of the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party; the Party in all its Millennial-fascistic glory; something that would discredit the Party; and if this something was unavoidable in its disclosure and ability to not cover--then in that case, Hillary Clinton would be the best president to have this public unfolding of the story take place. For it would turn the Democrat's seemingly final victory into a shattering defeat for all time, and put to an end the leftist control and manipulation of media--or at least make it harder to do so.

I say this not as a vote for Ms. Clinton--I will be in despair as all will--but as a indication that there are chess players, and then there are chess players.
