EMT 6/12/16 [krakatoa]

1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, June 12, 2016. On this day in 1978 David Berkowitz, the "Son of Sam" killer in New York City, was sentenced to 365 years in prison for six killings. At the time of his conviction there was no death penalty in NY. It was later reinstated but was again struck down by the NY Supreme Court in 2004 based on BS. Berkowitz is still getting his three hots and a cot at taxpayer expense.

6 One of Scankles' temper tantrums is coming back to haunt her. She once screamed "you Jew bastard" at her husband's campaign manager. She now denies it but there are three witnesses. She is pushing hard for the Jewish vote now. The sad thing is she will probably still get it.

35 To me the whole picture is most states votes are written in stone, there is no guessing which way they will go. Only a few are purple and it is a toss up. But the trend is purple to blue and in another 10 years down the road a couple of more purple will change. A Socialist president is coming, as in Venezuela people will vote themselves free stuff and when third dreams meet the road and become reality they have to deal with it. The same thing here will happen.

In rape news, just making stuff up now:

Sixteen California state lawmakers are calling for the state agency that investigates judicial misconduct to take disciplinary action against the judge in the Stanford sexual-assault case that sparked national outrage.

The lawmakers letter said the commission, which can reprimand or remove judges for conduct that violates judicial ethics, could find that Persky engaged in misconduct if it concludes he acted in a way that adversely affected the publics perception of the judiciary.

"Judge Perskys bias, whether intentional or inadvertent, affects the esteem of the judiciary in the eyes of the public, which undermines the public confidence in the integrity and the independence of the judiciary system," the lawmakers wrote.

I suspect, as a former business owner who had dealings with banks (obscenities redacted), that the Donald can speak from the heart about how sleazy those (obscenities once again redacted) are. So he kinda does have that in common with the Bernie people.

Not sure if that will translate into them getting off their lazy asses in November. Not sure that them staying home is a bad thing either.

By the way, back in 80 and 84, Ronald Reagan spoke about freedom, free enterprise and liberty. He didn't say "my views on trade are actually pretty close to Bernie Sanders."

That does not instill strength and confidence in me. And if it's about preventing Hilary from winning, it would behoove Mr. Trump to woo the base - the base that Romney, McCain, Dole and all the others shit upon.

But, I'm stupid and I just don't get it, right?

Beserkers.

There was a short story years ago where the author had a throw away line in the story. The hero is walking down the street of some future big city and some guy goes beserk and starts attacking people. Weapon wasn't mention, just 'went beserk'. The most amazing thing what the casual off hand mention, like it was common in the future big city; a road rage kind of story.

All the other characters in the story just dodged around it and went on with their lives. All the author was doing was extrapolating from a theory that population density, the common bumping into people, elbows, and annoyances had an effect on the .0001 percent of the population and they just snapped. It had nothing to do with the story, some kind of detective story, but that one throw away line is the only part of the story that I remember fifty years later.

I don't think there are degrees of conservatism. I think either you are or you're not. Many of the things that Mr. Trump supports confirm this. He will clinch the nomination with only about 41% of the votes in the primaries. 60% of GOP voters chose someone else. And he is not actively wooing that very large base. And saying that all other nominees reached out to Democrats is not a solid argument. Especially since Democrats of yore are not the ones we have today. Trying to woo Bernie supporters by saying you agree with him on certain issues (a raving Marxist) is not the same as wooing blue collar Democrats with free market capitalism.

That's my perception, and it raises very deep concerns with me. Not with you. You want to sort of slough it off. And the fact that Hilary Clinton is not being utterly destroyed in the polls is telling. Yes I know, early polling and all. But it should not even be a contest at all. And yet, here we are.

Now, I will enjoy my kosher McMuffin.

78 Sixteen California state lawmakers are calling for the state agency that investigates judicial misconduct to take disciplinary action against the judge in the Stanford sexual-assault case that sparked national outrage.

Was it within sentencing guidelines?

Did he get the minimum?

If so, what would warrant the minimum? What would be less egregious than this case? What makes this case deserving of punishment beyond that floor?

This is sentencing by torches and pitchforks.

One hundred Syrians a day coming to a suburb near you because Obama promised us a 'civilian force as well armed and well trained as the US Military'. for some reason.

You can get there by training and equiping a civilian force up to milspec, or you can reduce funding for military training and equiping and stop training military in warfighting skills and divert your training funding to gender studies and diversity, or you can do both.

The only question has been, 'why does Obama want a well trained and equipt private army, loyal to him?'

Sanders was as much a product of Democrat disaffection as Trump is a result of Republican disaffection. My guess of a fair share of Sanders support was not necessarily a result of any deep felt love for socialism as it was grasping at something that didn't trigger an auto-retching response.

Then you have that cult whose devoted followers turn to violence, intolerance, and did i mention violence? When was the last time you saw an Abdullah Hospital? Yet I see plenty of St. Anne's, or some related charitable entity. Why the hate towards one and the protective guarding of the other? It doesn't make sense.

You've got to cheer up, J.J.

This election is probably the most basic election we've seen in our lifetime. It's a simple choice for the vast majority of people who don't follow the minutia of politics like we do.

Change vs Status Quo.

This is all anyone is going to see in the end. Trump means change. Hillary is text book definition of Status Quo.

The entire country is in a change mood. When polled, Change comes in at about 78%. If Bernie had got the nomination, it would have been a contest, but with Hillary in, it will be a landslide for Trump.

16 republicans and 2 democrats have thrown everything they could think of against Trump, along with 68 million in negative ads. Going negative on Hillary is just about to begin.

Sure, it's been a tough couple of weeks for Trump. But it's 5 months to the election and no one will remember anything about any of this current flap in November.

When the coordinated, methodical attack of Hillary gets going, democrats are going to go into a panic that will make the current reservations about Trump look insignificant in comparison.

Always bet on change. Change wins every time.

The problem with Christianity and even Judaism are individuals who subvert their meaning and kill in its name. And this is the constant drumbeat of leftist apologists and Muslims.

But Islam is a "religion" whose central tenet is the death or subjugation of nonbelievers. Therefore, it is not a religion, but a violent, exterminationist death cult that will capture the world or destroy it trying.

They make no connections. All religion is evil to many now.

This is just another of my alcohol induced insane theories, but my thought is that the modern SJW movement, is fueled by resistance to any idea that morality, or social norms may derive from any higher power. This is because, again I believe, that if these strictures derive from G-d, for example, they are necessarily immutable, which puts people wanting to change them in a sticky situation.

Better that they derive from man, since man being imperfect, is subject to making mistakes.

There isn't an R politician today that can/does or will speak about freedom, free enterprise and liberty the way Reagan did, not even Cruz. Nothing is explained to the masses and I don't think I'll ever really understand why. Reagan was an anomaly in modern politics. Donald Trump doesn't have it in him to articulate, or even know, the difference between a free society and a statist one. It's not how he's approaching this run, imo. But then again, no other R did either. Certainly nowhere near the way Reagan could crystalize it.

After the election, we just have to hope that Trump is driven by his ego.

If so, he will look for the easiest, most obvious changes that will make immediate impact on the economy and the federal budget.

Luckily, our federal spending is so bloated and ridiculous that Trump will be able to do some "amazing" things very quickly. Also, in order to make these changes (that any idiot could do in his sleep), Trump will push through basic change in the way the government can deal with federal employees.

Is he going to turn the U.S. into a conservative utopia with each decision driven by strict constitutional guidelines? Fuck no.

But he will make headline-grabbing changes that will show the elected lawmakers and the public that things can change if someone just does it.

he called it in right away, and 2 more officers arrived shortly

he was off duty moonlighting

from what I heard, shots fired first, then the cop engaged

no way I'm going to blame an off duty cop for this

they ended up saving people in the end, it may have been worse if there really are explosive devices

There is a bit of irony in that. Mickey D's and the like became popular as America hit the road in the '50s. Travelers were tired of the food fare, and its uneven state of preparation, so longed for something that would be standard while travelling. My belief is so-called "social issues" are in fact issues of morality. And it's not about whether or not I want to control what someone does, but how those who drive those issues seek to use them in order to reshape our society and nation in ways that are destructive politically.

Not black and white, but very deep shades of light and dark to be sure.

And he would have become a great Muslim-American, in the fine tradition of all those other wonderful Muslim-Americans who have contributed so much to the greatness of America since its founding (in which Muslims also played a key role), and without whom America would not be the powerful and successful nation that it is.
