[I think MH speared a polar bear....(CBD)]

And here is Milo Yiannopoulos at U.C. San Diego, being his usual inflammatory self. But he says something interesting here...."What I think is a pity is the way the Left has domesticated homosexuals..."

And from commenter "Lauren," speaking of the horror at Disney World.

This I'm a perfect parent and anyone who loses a child tragically is an idiot bullshit has got to fucking stop.

And from commenter "CrustyB:"

I read that at Disney Florida they're searching for a 2-year old who was dragged away by a gator. The press is speculating that it's a white, conservative, evangelical, AR-15 wielding alligator.

And here is convincing evidence that the Orlando terrorist did it because he was a repressed gay Republican....

As hard as we tried, we could not keep him corralled all night ling. Do you know how squirmy a two year old can be? And fast. They can be there one minute and POOF two seconds later they are under the bleachers. For the love of God, back off from parent-shaming. Bad things happen. They just happen. 47 Years ago my folks had a condo on a golf course in a brand new community in Florida. It was brand new in that the entire town was cut out of the swamp like most of Disney.

The whole place was criss crossed with canals and little ponds which were dug to drain the land. They also served as a kind of super highway for gators.

Their place backed up to the 9th green which was bordered by a canal and a pond. More than once my mom and her dogs were stalked by gators during their morning walk around the pond.

Yes, it's awful. And telling parents who are already in agony that it happened because they were terrible parents is incredibly cruel.

You don't have to be a parent to realize how quickly bad stuff can happen. Anybody who has babysat toddlers for a few hours knows that all you have to do is look away for a few seconds and there they are picking up a glass shard from the sidewalk or trying to stick a fork in an outlet or something.

65 #49 It's flat, hot, and crowded. Everything I hate.

Yep. Spent a ton of time in FL for work and I've grown to truly detest it.

My company just hired a guy in Miami and I was assigned to train him. The Veep planned to have me fly down there to train him, and made the offer sound like it was a teat for me to go to Florida.

I told him I appreciated the thought but I'd rather fly the new guy to me in western NY for training. So that's what we did.

(The trainee was a recent college grad, of Columbian descent but as American as anyone. Very polite, intelligent and well spoken young guy. Raised right, you could tell. The week I spent with him gave me some hope for our recent college grads.)

71 I don't watch broadcast news. But I came home last evening, and my wife was watching one of the MSN networks. I literally saw no more than 30 seconds of news, but it was enough to convince me that this is no ordinary "getting fucked by our politicians" time.

I saw Ryan, Corker and McConnell supporting the presumptive nominee as no other leaders of a party can. By bashing the shit out of him.

Ryan, is actually calling for MORE muzzie invasion.

I have been following Brexit because of what I feel are parallels - uncanny parallels - between what is happening beneath the surface of that event, with what Trump has stirred up and exposed that is happening below the surface here.

This is an agenda, I'm convinced of it. The fucking jackasses like Ryan, Corker and McConnell, are following instructions.

In Sweden and Germany, you've had politicians publicly stating that they want inbreeding within their societies. Inbreeding to dilute indiginous whites.

Why the fuck does Ryan want MORE muzzie immigration? Right after this horrific terrorist event? Why the hell would he state that now?

We are part of an experiment. A global social experiment and our leaders are poking us with sticks through the bars of our cages, before they inject us with the serum of their experimental plan.

Ryan, Corker, and McConnell have just guaranteed that after Trump, I will never vote for another person with an R after their name. I will literally vote against the Republican party from here on. Either we get a new party, or I will become an activist against Republicans.

They'd join the Nazis.

People don't realize how popular Adolf was among young people, particularly those at universities. Those youthful idealists were the ones who formed the backbone of the SS. That's why I'm always bemused when people talk as if the young have some sort of special wisdom. In fact, young people have shown themselves to be quite susceptible to the lure of totalitarianism.

The faculty also embraced Nazism. Think of all the teaching positions that opened up at German universities once they kicked out the Jews.

Well, a bit early for that, no?

As to the query - unlimited free migration across borders of first world states has been a staple of "educated" thought since the late 70s. Every "model UN", "Student council", and more have preached that with a fervor unmatched since Carrie Nation. Our Mandarin class has been stewing in it for nigh on half a century...

I'm rather surprised that more folks don't know that.

109 81 >>As much as I'd love the Cubs to win the WS , I never want to see women in baseball. But I bet baseball will be the first to go, since it's largely non-contact.

I read recently that the hardest pitch thrown by a female player was clocked at 79 mph. If that is your fast ball, you will get shelled by male mlb pitchers. A man who can only throw 79 mph would probably never even make it out of rookie ball. Baseball might be (largely) noncontact, but you still have to be strong as hell to play it.

Look at the woman who tried out as an nfl kicker a few years ago and started crying when she couldn't get the ball anywhere close to the goal post.

Or the women's Olympic soccer team that was just beaten by a bunch of 14 year olds.

The only way I can see women competing on male teams is if they are trannies ie, not really women.

My boy's favorite thing right now is climbing on an end table from the couch. He knows he's not supposed to, so he waits until I look away. I looked away for 3 seconds last night and I swear he went all the way across the room, climbed onto the couch and onto the table before I could stop him.

Actually I live in Western NY, but having covered Miami from one end to the other for work, its actually one of the nicest cities in Florida. Having extensively covered all the cities in Florida, it was much better than expected. One area was kind of bad, but overall..and..Little Havana was interesting. Miami Beach is a different story, crowded, traffic, and not that great.

Point taken. Another interesting take is applying historian Ian Kershaw's "working toward the Fuhrer" theory to modern Democratic liberalism, i.e. described by Peter Longerich as "the complex of social expectations and motivations projected onto Hitler" by his followers. Democratic leaders don't need to promulgate directives; they just need to keep reiterating the tenets of the ideology and allow their deep-and-wide architecture of industrious grassroots followers to build the ideology into micro-policy. Go to the average community board meeting/school board, etc. and you see the ideology expressed in the sausage-making of microadministration.

One other thing that I have noticed about Republicans is that they got a lot less feisty after the Clintons illegally copied all their FBI reports when Bill Clinton first took office. Once the "unskewing the polls" nonsense starts, the election is over. The Bloomberg poll also shows Trump down a gigantic amount and that was done by Selzer, who has the best reputation (along with the MU Law Poll) in the business.

A guy like Ron Johnson (I'm in WI) knows he has no chance to win with Trump at the top of the ticket. He's spending a ton of money already on TV ads to try and keep himself in the game but he's down 10 pts in spite of the effort. When it looked like Cruz was going to win WI and could be the nominee, he was in a statistical tie.

Their polling is no different, but with one or two caeats.

Outside of that timeline they are free to push poll, or carefully phrase questions in such a way as to influence answers, "weight" their polling, all sorts of things that affect how they come to their "big headline"

Do I believe left leaning polls this early in an election cycle?

279 I liike Milo; He is a very smart and articulate man. The problem is, (although better phrased by him) is that many gays are not naughty and creatively mischevious anymore. Instead, in their attempt to destroy cultural institutions that stop full allegiance to the state such as the church and the family the left insists that those institutions must accept them in every manner including marriages and the supposed equality of families. This, in turn, is supposed to mean that's there's no difference between a united, loving family with a father and a mother (and please don't hear that as my saying that gays can't be loving and good parents. Of course they can and they are.) I just think it's better for families to be traditional with two parents of opposite gender if possible, because if you don't have that the next thing is that there is no such thing as gender and gender doesn't matter. When the state and the church had more respect and authority it was dangerous to be gay. You could go to jail as did Oscar Wilde. For the most part, unless one is dealing with violent and unbalanced people and Islam what's fundamentally dangerous about being gay in America now? Gay culture has been mainstreamed and as he said "twenty something boo-hooing about their special snowfalkeness' which isn't appreciated is laughable.

Instead, Miol has his speeches cancelled because he's an articulate non violent libertarian with conservative tendencies. It;s the political framework that's considered dangerous by the leftists-not that he's gay.

290 As I said yesterday, I really think this is a seminal year in history, a turning point like 1776, 1789, 1848, 1968, or 1989.

The forces of populism are in revolt against a powerful, corrupt elite that will do anything and tell any lie to preserve their own power. Like 1848 and 1989, there might be a happy ending in some places and a tragic one in others.

I agree with you absolutely. The hard sell going on for Europe to accept this benign tyranny and GOP leadership finally being exposed as doing the bidding of someone other than the electorate... well sometimes coincidences are too coincidental. We've known for a long time that the Dems were way too uniform for them to be following the wishes of an amorphous constituency, but I think most of us saw the GOP as something different.

Boy were we stupid.

There's a fantastic subreddit (I know, I know, reddit) called Stormfront or SJW where they take a random quote from either a Stormfronter or an SJW, remove any language (say "Jews" or "white males") that would identify the speaker as either a Stormfronter or an SJW, and then challenge the reader to figure out whether the speaker is a Stormfronter or an SJW.

It can get very, very difficult to determine which is which.

321 258 A guy like Ron Johnson (I'm in WI) knows he has no chance to win with Trump at the top of the ticket. He's spending a ton of money already on TV ads to try and keep himself in the game but he's down 10 pts in spite of the effort. When it looked like Cruz was going to win WI and could be the nominee, he was in a statistical tie.
-beegs-

Ron Johnson is in trouble in Wi because he was elected in 2010 as a Tea Party conservative, and as part of a wave that promised to thwart Obamas agenda.

He turned out to be just another squish GOPe, who likes the company of Senators and lobbyists.
Just another guy who ran to the front of the parade, said "follow me, boys", and now what? What?

I'll vote for him over having Russ Feingold, but Johnson's been lousy, and his polling may reflect that.

He's no Walker.
--------------------------------------------------------------

I helped out with the Rebecca Bradley WI Supreme Court campaign and the final MU Law Poll came within .01% of our final margin of victory (we won by 4.89%, MU had it 4.9%). That same poll showed Ron Johnson pulling into a tie with Feingold because Cruz looked like a lock to win WI and he could become the GOP nominee. Trump is a gigantic drag on all the down-ballot races.

We were at some of the same events as Ron Johnson and he's a really decent guy, even though he's been a bit disappointing compared to expectations. He's also very honest...he told us that if Cruz could somehow win the nomination, he would narrowly win re-election. But if Trump won, there was nothing he could do and there would have to be a gigantic scandal involving Feingold for him to have a realistic chance. He's a very fatalistic guy.

326 Why are Republicans talking about guns on TV?

The GOP could easily blame Jihadists inspired by Islam for the mass shooting, yet now they have bought into the progressive narrative and are talking about guns.

Why are we talking about guns at all? The jihadist in this shooting passed all the so called "rigorous" background checks otherwise why did he get a job working as a security for such government agencies as homeland security? Yet now various GOP congressmen, senators, certain people at FOX news, etc. are all talking about guns?

Here is why -

1. They really do believe Islam is just like Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism. None of them have ever picked up the Quran, or even made one attempt to learn about the religion. It is amazing they lecture Obama about how ignorant he is (which is true - Obama is ignorant), but they are no different. How the heck are you going to defeat Jihadism if you have never read, for example, Sura 9 in the Quran? I mean it is all there, the whole Jihadist reason for being.

2. They are easily frightened by leftist, because they went to universities where leftist bullied them into passive and defensive thinking. Many people, like Ace, has pointed out the upper middle class conservative with a education problem. Heck the very word, "Conservative" hints at defensiveness. Hence I am not a conservative anymore, and never will be again.

3. The Republican party prizes free trade, low taxes, cheap labor, and less regulation above all things. This includes the safety of the country, American lives, culture, the constitution, etc. Now trade, low taxes, less regulations are good, but not at the expense of the nation.

So the GOP will sell out other issues, in order to achieve those three things above. The only hills they ever die on are on things like free trade.

Any Republican presidential candidate that does not support those three things above will have to drag a screaming GOP leadership around while also beating off the MSM and Democrat party. Frankly that is almost impossible, hence why it is better this party dies.

All they are doing is slow walking what the Democrats will do in five or ten years. If you see things as I see them, time is the most dangerous factor working against us. The longer this failed drama plays out, the more leftist and their allies will be imported into the country, or rise into positions of power. Thus when this country hits the breaking point, the left will be in a better position strategically to shape the future of the country. The faster that breaking point is reached, the better it will be for our side.

In my view Trump is the last chance to avoid a breaking point (although even that is unlikely). If he loses then we don't have to concern ourselves about leftist supreme courts, or fighting Jihadist in Syria. There won't be a united country anymore for a leftist supreme court to order about, and we will have communist and jihadist fighting us here in America.

A President Paul Ryan, or of his ilk, won't stop any of that. You can't smile and nice talk your way out of this reality.

345 President Obama gets net positive ratings for his response to the shooting in Orlando. 44 percent approve, while 34 percent disapprove. About a quarter don't have an opinion. When asked to assess the responses of the presumptive nominees for President, Americans are divided on Hillary Clinton's response to the attack, while ratings of Trump are more negative. 51 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Trump is responding to the Orlando attack, while just 25 percent approve. Most Democrats (62 percent) approve of Clinton's response, while just half of Republicans (50 percent) approve of Trump's. More independents are critical of Trump's response than Clinton's. Trump recently reiterated his support for temporarily banning Muslims from entering the United States, but most Americans don't support this. 62 percent think the US should not temporarily ban Muslims from entering the country, while 31 percent think the US should do so.

The results on Orlando are very believable. Obama has a very high job approval on all polls now, so he's going to get good marks here, too. Hillary is only +2 on the question, which isn't that strong, and shows her weakness. Trump, of course, couldn't just tweet out about Radical Islam (he's right on that), he had to make it all about him being right "look at me, I told you so, I was right." Well, no he wasn't. He was a terrorist engaged in planning a mass murder, assisted by his wife and unknown others.

I'm sick of hearing "how could they have possibly known???". The government is willfully blinding itself from considering Islamist associates and practices as precursors to violence. DHS said just yesterday that they consider righties as equal in threat to Jihadists, against all reason and experience.

Ideology is the problem, and excusing the FBI because it pays lip service to the President's inanity should not happen.

Clearly, Omar was a terrorist and not a "law abiding citizen".

The FBI had been informed of his threatening behavior and language. They failed the people of Orlando and all those young people at Pulse paid the price for that failure.

392 President Obama gets net positive ratings for his response to the shooting in Orlando.

That said, I think it would be unwise to underestimate him too terribly much. To give credit to his opponents in the primaries for running shitty campaigns thus causing Trump to win by default, is a bit ingenuous (no disrespect) I think.

Trump won as much as they lost and he did it by (again my opinion) by saying what people either wanted, or felt they needed, to hear.

After being bombarded by non stop advertising, we should be, at least somewhat, immune to the tricks advertising plays with your mind. (Thing Used Car Salesman. Or street corner scam artist.)

Then factor in the magic of large numbers. We have some 160 million voters, some of whom can be persuaded, some are fanatical true believers, some are brain washed robots, and we have Obama; schooled in the mind control rhetoric of Ward Churchill, and Saul Alinsky, and the Franklin School.

Add in machine politics at the local level and vote fraud, and here we are.

They're afraid of an anonymous pollster?

I've worked the phones for political campaigns. (When I was young, I actually did so for Democrats.) I lasted two weeks in college working for a telemarketing company.

It was my experience that people are not at all afraid of expressing themselves in the strongest terms to anonymous callers. I was called all sorts of things by both Ds and Rs. Do you care what a telemarketer or pollster thinks of you when they call? You'll never see this person face to face.

I'll vote for Trump but I would much rather have him dumped at the convention, so Hillary just can't coast to an easy victory.

That tweet after the attack where he tried to personally grandstand instead of just showing sympathy for the victims showed he's not serious about any of this. He's doing nearly exactly what a candidate would do to try and sabotage his own chances.

My own opinion is that Trump never thought he could win the nomination. He figured he might get second or third and build his brand some more, but then the media smelled blood and propped him up so much that he ended up winning. Anyone who didn't realize the media wanted him to win the primary so they could destroy him in the general just hasn't been paying attention to politics for long.

I just can't figure out why Trump, once it became apparent he would win the nomination, didn't take it seriously and build a good campaign apparatus/ground game/fundraising network, if he wasn't just a Dem plant trying to screw with the GOP.

I don't think a Trump defeat in November will signify the end of the Republic. It will, however, signify the collapse of the Republican Big Tent and the beginning of a third-party split. The victorious Democrats under Hillary will move forward with an authoritarian socialist agenda. Those resistant to the agenda will coalesce around another, neweropposition party or movement.

Years from now, they'll make an epicmovie of this whole era. It'll be a black comedy directed by Quentin Tarentino, with lots of violence and a few cheap laughs.

Trump hit a home run with that first "build a wall" immigration speech and I was pretty impressed immediately after. I became far less impressed when he later came out in favor of planned parenthood, and against the NC bathroom bill. He's certainly no conservative and is probably a moderate democrat in reality.

It's times like these that show it's going to take someone like Trump to drag the losers, wimps and idiots we have in congressional and senatorial offices across the finish line in the next election.

There a about 4 and half lifetimes until the election. Nobody is going to remember Orlando, the Mexican judge, or anything else that's going on this week in November.

Trump will pull some big things off between now and then, just because he's Trump.

Among those things, will be a play for black, Hispanic and now gay votes. He'll do it by attacking the democrats for using these minorities like slaves and migrants.

He can do this because he has absolutely nothing to lose.

No, he won't win a majority of these groups just now, but he will win enough to win the election.

It depends on how often you shoot it and what level of accuracy you seek.

Look what is the rifle for?

If you want a defense weapon and you plan on putting 30 shots through it a year to test the sights and besides that it is stored in a handy place I'd say go for a Polymer build.

Polymer never rusts, is light and stores well.

If you are going to be precision shooting several times a week killing Varmints spend the extra money make a 20-24" rifle and put a giselle trigger on her etc etc.

If you are buying it for personal defense in case it all goes sideways build the cheapest QUALITY rifle you can b/c you'll either be picking up better rifles off the ground or not using it for long...

not trying to be a wet blanket.

I have built 2000 bucks ARs (*luckily* stolen in S Carolina) and I have built 450 dollar ARs.

The spare 1500 bucks does not make it 3 times the rifle...it makes it more like 1.5 to twice the rifle.

Wife currently has a nice 1300 buck AR with a side charging handle and a bolt lock....

I have a 525 dollar S+W M+P 15 sport with a 200 optic on it...

If things go sideways I'll probably use it or give it to my son and use the Winchester SXP shotgun.

Wayne State University in Detroit is one of the largest schools in Michigan, with some 27,000 students. Until now, all of them had to either take one of three basic math classes to earn their degree, or else test out by performing sufficiently on a relevant SAT, CLEP, or AP test. But going forward, students will not longer have to demonstrate any mathematical competency to graduate, unless their particular course of study requires it.

But if faculty have their way, the school will soon recognize an appreciation for diversity as an extremely essential expertise. Students will have to take three signature classes, two designed for freshmen and one that will serve as a capstone class for upperclassmen. These signature classes will be designed to engage with modern-day issues such as culture, sustainability, health, ethics, and urban development and renewal. In recognition of the importance of diversity, all signature classes will be required to achieve a diversity-related goal such as intercultural knowledge and competence or global learning.

Yep. That makes two of us. I've done my time there and hopefully will never have to go back.

480 I haven't read the whole thread. But from what I've read elsewhere about the crocodile story so far, it wasn't a matter of the toddler getting away from the parents quickly, as much as as it was a matter of the crocodile grabbing the toddler quickly.

The lagoon beach at the Grand Floridian, according to pictures, has lounge chairs, tables, etc. set up, and there is a sign saying "No Swimming." The boy and his mother were playing in the edge of the water. His sister was in a playpen farther from the edge.

The crocodile grabbed the boy. The father tried to wrestle the boy from the crocodile, and the mother tried to save him, too; to no avail.

I figure those parents have a pretty good lawsuit coming for there being no sign stating there is a possibility of crocodiles. It is rare for a crocodile to do this, and has never happened at that lagoon, but still,it is possible and no Disney-goer would expect it. This is one lawsuit I would be heavily in favor of.

But so what. No amount of money could make a dent in the horror of this for that family, or their ruined lives. (Not to mention the boy's loss of his life.)

481 It was "less than a foot' of water by official reports. And there is NO "no wading" sign, and people do that all the time.

Once more, the liberals. Almost had the gators gone back in the 50s, 60s. Then the greenies took over. Mustn't have that. Must let the poor gators run amok again. And so they do.

Alana - It was NOT a crocodile. It was an alligator. Just a regular, everyday, hungry alligator.

39 I know salties - the crocs they have is Australia - can be effing fast in grabbing prey even on land . And they are vicious beasts.
Are gators the same way?
Posted by: @votermom at June 15, 2016 08:14 AM (7lVbc)
Only when hungry.

56 Used to be, you could know-it-all the argument by stating, only alligators are North American; there are no crocodiles in North America.
The salt-water crocodile has been successfully introduced to the Keys.
Whoopee.

No. Saltwater crocs have been in far south FL for a long time. Mostly rare and unseen. Not introduced.

73 So ... is .357 sufficient to shoot a gator in the head, or do you need to go .44 ?

Troy Landry does it with a .22 lr or mag.
Me? Preferably a .577 T-Rex.

If you can actually hit something that will cause real damage. Otherwise, not so much. Gator hunters often use a "bang stick" which is a long pole with a shotgun shell on the end. Poke the gator on top of the head and the shell goes off. Alligators brain is about as big as a walnut. If you can hit that accurately with your .22 then give it a try. I ain't going there.

483 It's been my experience that tragic events often show what miserable curs fellow humans can be.

Never underestimate the willingness of some to cast aspersions on those suffering the most. Lobbing vicious attacks is far easier for them rather than having to accept that terrible things can happen to good people or that they can't maintain control over everything that happens in their lives.
