19 Frankly, I'm not sure how I would disagree with the 9th Circuit ruling. The Second Amendment doesn't say anything about concealed carry. Laws have been written since, saying it's a good idea, but that's dependent on evidence and decisions made as to whether it's a good idea or not.

So if Californica wants to shoot itself in the foot, that's their business.

If you want to carry concealed, move out of Californica. There are plenty of other places in this country where you can.

I agree with the last sentence. As for the 2nd Amendment, "the right to bear arms" does not mean keep them locked in a display case. "Bear arms" means just that, concealed or otherwise.

Posted by: Cloyd Freud, Unemployed at June 10, 2016 08:03 AM (ZEzaq)

42 "Social significance"of concealed (vs. open) carry is, well, all over the place, and it really is sociology on this one. Once upon a time "concealed" was conflated with intent to rob or assault. So it was, legally, frowned upon. Now, gun rights advocates mock open-carry kooks on-a-cuz-of open carry is "impolite" and frightens the terminally civil. Both those viewpoints were accurate, and, both wrong.

The way you win on this is to present the simple moral ("legal") choice: it's either open or concealed, maybe both, but cannot be neither. So if 9th Circuit says concealed carry only by some or another sort of permit, then open carry it is.

Yeah, simple.

I think it's a logical conclusion, based on the 2nd Amendment, but since it's not written INTO the 2nd Amendment, that's why jurisdictions need to have an open discussion about it. Just saying "it's in the 2nd Amendment," when clearly it's not, isn't going to help the cause.

84 Another thing that just floors me about the SJW (including the LGBTAIDSNFLMVPSWAKBYOB extremists) moment we find ourselves to be humorously living in, is that virtually nobody recognizes the explicit bigotry of that movement. These people in groups, more than supporting any stance, are intent on preventing people from having any opposing stance - from holding any opposing beliefs - no matter how legitimate they are. Far from promoting any kind of shared belief set, they demonize, with the help of governments and the courts, any people who might have deeply held views, no matter where they may originate from.

How this cannot be seen as every bit as vile of bigotry as any other is frankly breathtaking.

They will even take your livelihood. Eventually they will want you punished, even violently, and the way things are going, they will act with the support of the government and the courts.

Bearing of arms. Because the 2nd Am doesn't specify HOW, just that the feds CAN'T infringe on that right.

There are only two possible modes of bearing arms, openly or concealed.

California prohibits the open carry of firearms this decision says people do not have a right to conceal carry firearms

So the right to bear arms in any manner has been effectively written out of the 2nd amendment without passing an amendment to do so.

Tyranny straight up.

The original intent of the entire Bill of Rights was to allow the broadest possible freedoms for the citizens and then the states. Hence the 9th and 10th. In any event, the Constitution does not grant rights; it codifies and sets down on paper the rights that are G-d given and that cannot be taken away nor granted by men or governments.

Indeed. The concept of natural rights was very much in vogue at the time. Natural rights are intrinsic - they are not granted by some piece of paper. They precede and pre-exist mere government, and are an eternal and indispensable part of human nature.

A government does not and can not grant such rights, and in the attempt to take them away, surrenders its legitimacy.

147 Canadas highest court has just ruled that some sex acts between humans and animals are legal.
In a quixotic ruling, the countrys high court ruled that a man who was on trial for raping and sexually exploiting his own daughters wasn't guilty of bestiality. The man reportedly, smeared peanut butter on the genitals of his victims and had the family dog lick it off while he videotaped the act.

The convicted man took his case to the Canadian Supreme Court, demanding that the bestiality charge be nullified. In the end, the court agreed.

As a result of the rape case, the court ruled 7 to 1 that humans having sexual contact with animals is OK if there is no penetration involved in the act.

151 If you want to carry concealed, move out of Californica. There are plenty of other places in this country where you can.

The problem is, in dangerous areas where you might need a weapon, you are not allowed to carry one. Which is what makes the area dangerous. Good people obey the law and disarm. Criminals take advantage of that and arm themselves and ignore the law.

So you move to an area where self defense is legal, and you then discover that you have no need to carry a weapon.

It is not carrying a weapon that makes an area safe, it is people who respect the rights of others.

159 Bit of a constipated (so to speak) dump, as the "oil tax" thingy dates back to early Feb.
The Wa and Huf Posts both came out for it, so it died the appropriate death.

Interestingly, the WH pr spin was to trot out the old "gas tax" canard, ignoring the fact that tax increase was on crude...

Well, it was a good try. For a four putter.

Hope that helps.

177 In the name of integration a class of German children were put on an island and forced to role play at being asylum seekers with the intention of having them better understand migrants.
On the island of Kaninchenwerder just outside the German city of Schwerin local students were told to become asylum seekers . Refugee for the day is a project designed to get high school aged children to experience what the Network Working for Refugees (NAF) believes is the plight of migrants in Germany and elsewhere, reports German paper Die Welt.

The children encounter stern faced border control officers and are made to feel powerless which aims to give the children a pro migrant view.

Speaking theoritically, not that I have ever done such a thing, but hypothetically, if one were involved in the business of artificial insemination, not that I have ever been employed in such a fashion, but if one were employed, it is only common sense that in order to artificially inseminate a cow or a mare, the bull/horse seman has to be, that is to say, 'collected' in some fashion.

Would that be considered 'sex'? Then it has to be injected, so to speak, and would that be considered 'sex'? Would that make you a 'sex worker'?

Today's visit to Judicial Watch yields the deposition of Karin Lang, a designated State Department representative.

755 pages, oy.

Usually Judicial Watch just posts the transcript without comment, but thank God this time they summarized it. Well now this is interesting:

>>Lang testified that key State Department federal recordkeeping officials did not know that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin were using non-state.gov email to conduct government business. She also testified that the State Department could not say whether Clinton or Abedin has turned over all emails in their possession that may be potentially responsive to Judicial Watch's Freedom of the Information Act (FOIA) request. Lang also said that it would not be reasonable to search all 70,000 State Department email accounts in order to retrieve Clinton's emails. (Clinton has suggested that the State Department would have many of her emails because she sent most of them to State Department employees on their government accounts.)

>>The State Department acknowledged in its answers that it "has no method of identifying which State Department officials and employees had and/or used an account on clintonemail.com to conduct official government business."

The tawdry and criminal is just non-stop with these two. How can anyone ,even evil Democrats, want to elect this foul person?

402 The Tel Aviv Attack Victims

Michael Feige, 58, a sociologist and anthropologist who was head of the Israel Studies program at Ben-Gurion University, was among the four victims of Wednesday's terror attack in Tel Aviv.

Ido Ben Ari, 42, was at the restaurant with his wife and two children; his wife was among the injured. He worked in a senior position with Coca-Cola and had served in the Israeli army's elite Sayeret Matkal unit.

Mila Mishayev, 33, was waiting for her fiance to arrive when the attack occurred. She reportedly called her husband-to-be after she was shot and before she died.

Ilana Navaa, 39, is survived by her husband and four daughters.
