11 Color me shocked: Those windmills, Prius' (Prii?), Teslas and closing down of the coal industry are really starting to payoff. There's a cold front ripping across the Midwest now, it's 48 windy degrees here in The Gateway City. Typically 70's, 80's and 90's in mid May here, and I have usually run the AC at least once or twice. I think AlGore jammed on the brakes a little too hard.

13 That article below about abandoning all economic sense over 160 years of science is actually misleading. They aren't even basing it on science. They're basing it on a hardcore agenda.

Almost all of the data (by an overwhelming amount) is northern hemisphere. We have virtually no weather data history from the southern hemisphere. There's less than a dozen weather stations south of the equator.

Further, the data has been tweaked and doctored repeatedly by guys like Hanson who are downgrading old temperature information and upgrading modern. They "average out" areas of rural and urban, by moving the rural temperature stations to read like the urban ones. The entire process is a ridiculous scam.

And what's most obnoxious is that the people who cry "weather, not climate!" when its cool or rainy, scream "proof of climate!" when its hot and dry.

16 In 1940, the Germans invaded Norway and the Nazi party took over the government. Munch was 76 years old. With nearly an entire collection of his art in the second floor of his house, Munch lived in fear of a Nazi confiscation. Seventy-one of the paintings previously taken by the Nazis had been returned to Norway through purchase by collectors (the other eleven were never recovered), including The Scream and The Sick Child, and they too were hidden from the Nazis.[90]

Munch's grave at Vr Frelsers gravlund, Oslo
Munch died in his house at Ekely near Oslo on 23 January 1944, about a month after his 80th birthday. His Nazi-orchestrated funeral suggested to Norwegians that he was a Nazi sympathizer, a kind of appropriation of the independent artist.[91] The city of Oslo bought the Ekely estate from Munch's heirs in 1946; his house was demolished in May 1960.[92]

=============

I'm suspicious of the nazi send off. Then again, he was 80 so maybe his mind was going or her relatives were nazi twats.

I like to follow celebrity real estate and it has gotten nuts. Everyone is dumping property and inflated prices. Pretty sure this is 2008 all over again. Only in LA will someone try to sell a not so great house with no pool for 2-3 million bucks.

Most pieces like this that are stolen end up in private collections, in mansions etc. Some are just stored away and looked at privately. The British recently busted a guy who had like a thousand paintings Nazis stole in his attic, his dad took them and kept them.

And/or they're at airports which is appropriate for their use in aviation - where the conditions on the vast expanses of concrete matter if you're flying into/out of those expanses - but not in the broader area.

There was a series called Art of the Heist that lasted a couple of seasons. The most interesting was the one called Chasing Cezanne. Some old money genteel rich living in the country had their uninsured Cezanne stolen. Owner said he couldnt afford to insure it. No real security, either. It wasnt a well kept secret that he owned it in the little town. He's been approached several times by unsavory types trying to sell it back but the deals always fell thru.
