I don't know enough to say otherwise, but I'm seeing a lot of people agreed that he was extremely good on multiple musical instruments, on top of excellence in composing music.

And he has a big vault of recordings that may contain material as good as of his best known hits.

Sure, you may find lots of personal flaws, but that seems typical of musical talent.

He had leg and hip pain due to multiple injuries from his energetic performances.
It's not like he started taking the stuff recreationally. Taking it for legit reasons and getting hooked is something I can have some sympathy for.

88 Surprisingly, my respect for Prince rose after seeing him in that Blackhole of Complete Suckitude -

the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Prince's 20079/0 performance was outstanding, plus good music and great guitar playing.

Afterwards, I told the glorious and lovely Mrs naturalfake, "Oh, okay. I get the Prince fans now. He's pretty damn good."

Though I suppose the time to catch him would've been the early nineties or late 80's.

I read an interesting column the other day but I don't understand it. The column compared the decline of religion to the decline of Eastman Kodak. The idea that Kodak fell because they unwisely clung to film instead of rolling with the digital age. But it would seem to me that the least of the church's problems is failure to adopt a to-get-along-go-along attitude.

I said and will always say the same thing about Garcia/Lennon/Elvis too. Prince wasn't a God for crying out loud. He was an entertainer.
Compassion? For a guy who died with millions and millions of dollars and fans, who also had an addiction that likely cost in a month more than I make in year. Yet, with all that money he couldn't by treatment for his supposed injuries OR his addiction? Instead it bought old fashioned vanity.
