Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at April 29, 2016 07:35 AM (vvmPQ Geez Vic, why is this news now? Hmmmm. Let me take a stab at this, perhaps it has something to do with it being in approximately 7 websites yesterday. So if approximately 7 sites have it up as front page news, it is in the news again. And I'm going to put it up. Perhaps the American people have a short memory and need to be reminded. Maybe it was a slow day and those sites colluded against Obama. Just how in the world am I supposed to know all of the who, what, where, why & how of these sites? Good morning Horde!
In polling news there is a second poll entering the RCP average that is decent for Trump. Rasmussen has started polling the general election matchup and found a 38/38 tie between Clinton and Trump. With the Battleground poll from last week, this could be an indication of acceptance and consolidation in the GOP and voters as they consider who they will have to vote for given their choices. Incredibly, Rasmussen found 24% who say that their intention is to not vote at all. I urge caution among the Trump fans though. Real movement in polling will be indicated when one of the existing polls shows movement. The average is now Clinton +7.5%. Posted by: Dave in Fla at April 29, 2016 07:44 AM (kBIIG) 18

You have to laugh at that NYT link on Obama's economic legacy. Why am I not surprised the excuses are still;
1) It's Bush's fault 2) Republicans are "obstructionists" 3) If I was only dictator, things would be better Nothing to do with his complete destruction and demonizing of the financial sector, ridiculous Fed policies, complete economic atrophy due to bad trade policies, confiscatory taxation, including the highest corporate tax rate in te OECD, etc. The man simply lacks any real, intelligent, honest introspection, nor does he still have any idea how a democratic republic works. Just absolutely stunning. Posted by: Marcus T at April 29, 2016 07:45 AM (O0lVq) 23

percent, deficits are down and G.D.P. is growing. Lovely little fantasy world they've got going Posted by: TheQuietMan at April 29, 2016 07:51 AM (45oDG) 35
The miracle of the deficit being reduced to a "mere" $450 billion or so is one of my favorite lies of Obama and his sycophants. The national debt is still increasing at the pace of more than $1 trillion per year as hit has the past 7-8 years so the numbers are clearly being cooked. I suspect it is the shifting of some spending to "off-year" and counting others as investments, which aren't really spending because, well , investments are good for us.
This has been going on long before Obama of course but he has brought it to a whole new level of deception. Of course, you can fool the LIV's and the Dem base forever (if they are even aware of any of this) but you can't fool math. And math is a ruthless son of a bitch when you try to lie to it. ------------- This is consistent with what Rasmussen found. That 24% is evenly split between the two parties. The play in both the Clinton and Trump camps will be to try and draw the unhappy voters from the other side, I think. Trump could adopt some of the anti-Wall Street rhetoric from Bernie. Clinton could put out a proposal to reform Obamacare into something workable. I think both candidates will do and say anything to win, so policy consistency is not something to expect from either of them. Posted by: Dave in Fla at April 29, 2016 07:58 AM (kBIIG) 62

I find Rassmussen to be more reliable than most..and usually ahead of the curve. But that said I was wondering why we should be concerned about the 1 in 4 registered voters issue. What his point? Isn't it usually less than that? I know "eligible" voters in general elections is usually around 60%.

Grammie: I used to live in Queens and although most of the streets are numbered, you'd go insane trying to figure out where you were. When the 12 or so towns were consolidated into one borough, they each retained a very cumbersome, arcane street numbering system. So, you can have 43rd Avenue and 43rd Place in Astoria and 4 miles to the east have 43rd Road and 43rd Drive in Richmond Hill. Maddening! Posted by: J.J. Sefton at April 29, 2016 08:06 AM (p4UlV) 92

Number One (or, One-A) rule of developers: the purpose of an address is to sell the lot. It has no other purpose. Truck drivers and EMT's, be damned. "You're supposed to know." Case in point: it's spelled Fuchsia, dammit, not "Fuschia," and your creative misspelling will be auto-corrected by every word processor, also anyone who finished 8th grade, thereby, like, misdirecting your mail, man. And try explaining to some full-of-self-promoter that a word that sounds out as "fucks-ya" may not be the best choice for a family-raising residential 'hood that will have teenaged boys. Also, straight streets and geographically-numbered grids are boring, man. People want more excitement in their lives! More like Europe! The Dem turnout in the general election in 2012 was down considerably from 2008. And the Republican turnout was up. But it wasn't up enough to to get a Romney win.
Also keep in mind that the overall vote totals don't really mean shit in the Presidential election. We now have about 3 or 4 States that decide the election while the rest of the country goes with Blue States stay Blue and Red States stay Red. While CA and NY stay perennially blue it means Republicans can not afford to lose more than one of those swing States. Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at April 29, 2016 08:31 AM (vvmPQ) 195

I don't get these organizations like Teneo"
In local terms, it's like this: You're having a restaurant built. Local inspectors and paperwork is a real pain. Lead contractor suggests a "consultant" who can shepherd the papers and such thru (and turns out to be the BiL or some such of someone on the board, yadda yadda yadda). That's what Teneo is - an almost "ad hoc" collection of ex CEOs and such with a history of steering projects and cash towards the same folks, who will, for a price, present your case to the Mandarins. >>Give me a flowchart, a step-by-step procedure, a diagram showing them crossing legal boundaries etc.
I don't think the relationship of the organizations is all that complex, it's proving the quid pro quo that is the hard part. Prove, not just know in your guts. Clinton Foundation employees Cooper and Huma. Teneo, started by Cooper's predecessor at the CF, does "consulting" work for CF which seems to mean wrangling speakers and contributors to CF. State Dept. employees Hillary and Huma. Many of the same people and countries that are donating and working with the CF also have business in front of State and many seemed to get favorable treatment. The trick is proving that favorable treatment by State was a return for donating to the CF slush fund. Posted by: JackStraw at April 29, 2016 08:51 AM (/tuJf) 241

Yeah, I think Obama will only be able to maintain the ginormous lie that is economic stats while he was president because he will have destroyed/compromised the numbers so completely that they cannot be compared to any time before or after his term.
Heck, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, remains after he leaves office - we already know that the IRS and EPA have destroyed email records, and Hillary's records are a joke. Think it's safe to assume the rest of his cabinet will follow suit. Just like his birh certificate, school transcripts - his presidency will be a ghost as well. The Foreign Emoluments clause of the Constitution lists taking money from foreign governments while a cabinet officer as a crime. It's one of very few crimes specifically mentioned in the Constitution, that's how serious it is.
You don't need to prove she did anything in return for the money, only that she took it. Under the law, any money directed to her family or the foundation and thence to the family is directed to her. Check her tax return for those years and you'll see she herself reported it to the IRS as money she received. Case closed. Not complicated. She is a corrupt piece of shit, maybe the most ever. There are all sorts of shady transactions to the CF from foreign governments and even from known front groups for groups like the MB and the Iranian gov't. This, I would think, is what the FBI has been looking at. http://tinyurl.com/zk9etob AB 2607, by Assemblymember Phil Ting (D-San Francisco), has hit the Assembly Floor.The bill seeks to expand the scope of the four month old, unconstitutional gun violence restraining orders. If you don't remember them, they cause California gun owners to face a loss of their Second Amendment gun rights and confiscation of their firearms without prior warning if a family member or law enforcement officer requests a gun violence restraining order. That obviously wasn't enough for the anti-gun elitists. Not even the "economic" news could pimp that line. "I'd like one of those television moments" Well, TV isn't real. It's easier than that - ex "officials" pimp out their influence over offices (the current holders owe some allegiance to those who hired them, and so on) act as middlemen - invite to dinner/Box seats at Nats Park/whatever, and take a slice of the pie. The real issue isn't that it's done - only the most naive would think this is a new thing - it's that the "Government" has such a pervasive influence over every aspect of everyone's life, requiring a massive increase in the Mandarin class and a proportional amount of time and energy spent in bowing to them... Official duties were to sit in their TV Lounge from 1700-2200, phoning the Quarterdeck every hour to report all secure. After bout the third day, you become almost invisible to them. Proving Scankles took bribes would be a piece of cake if all you had to prove it to was 12 average citizens. But since congressional "ethics committees" are the ones who essentially try these cases you would have to have a video of the payments along with audio that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a bribe and that video had been aired to the public before either Party would act on it.

The PRC will probably start enforcing, with violence, air and naval exclusion zones around those 99% artificial "islands" in the last few weeks of Barky's presidency. He, in turn, won't want to do anything to further possibly tarnish that Nobel Peace Prize Laureate status of which he is so fond, and will respond with his customary stream of wordy nothings. So that it's a fait accompli for the next President to have to try to reverse, which it won't be, short of outright going to war with the PRC. I bet it's a little harder than you think. Money is fungible as we all know so how do you prove that a donation from a foreign government went to Hillary from the CF as opposed to the money being used for some other purpose. That's the whole point of the foundation and organizations like Teneo, to blur the lines. And Hillary resigned from the Board of the Clinton Foundation before taking over at State so I would bet there were no direct payments to her during that time. To Bill, sure, to Hillary, nope. The loss of world reserve currency status for the dollar is due to our shitfuck QE policy, book-cooking, and $20T debt, not the resident of the oval office. I know I'm a chickenfucker with the aesthetics thing, but if you can find a better example of it than "And for me the #NeverTrump position is fundamentally non-ideological. "We're gonna need more F-22s."
What we really need -- and assuredly won't get, because we can't afford it now -- is the enlarged version of the F-22's original competitor, the YF-23, made into a longer-range fighter-bomber. Lower of the two aircraft in this image: http://tinyurl.com/jrhmtml Dealing with increasingly dangerous integrated air defense systems from Russia and China (which are then being sold to the likes of Iran) will require a jet that's stealthy, fast, and high-altitude. The F-22 does that now. But it will also require a jet that carries a whole lot of fuel and weapons internally and hence stealthily. The F-22 does not do that. Nor does the F-35, or anything else in the inventory. An F/B-23 would do that. Posted by: torquewrench at April 29, 2016 10:04 AM (noWW6) 380
