Honestly thinks she's mentally unbalanced. Having worked w/someone who was clearly off, I would imagine most people just give her a lot of space and avoid all opportunities to interact lest they set her off. Also bet that's why she wasn't removed by security - her size and weirdness would present a risk of physical harm to whoever was tasked with removing her.

She was screaming "f-you" and "racist" at Christina Hoff-Summers, Milo and Steve Crowder when they gave a talk at UMass Amherst. Then, when she was told to shut up so they could talk, she screamed that her free speech rights were being violated. She shrieked at C H-S "Stop talking to us like we're children!" C H-S said "Then stop acting like one!"

As I said in the last thread, I want this woman to become the face of the SJW movement. It needs to be seen as a refuge for unattractive, venomous losers, not as something hip and cool.

If that seems harsh - well, this Trigglypuff would have absolutely no mercy on her ideological enemies. And she craves attention - so now she is getting it.

Trigglypuff is a play on the pokemon character Jigglypuff. Except "triggered'. From what I understand, the name was coined on 4chan (which you DO NOT want to visit.). I've also seen the name Trigga the Hutt used for her too.

They were certainly able to make the point about free speech, how the best way to deal with "hate"/scary speech is to let it be spoken - that that will repel people better than if it is hidden (knowing full well that the hecklers were more scared that they would persuade, not repel).

153 So this happened yesterday -

My oldest son lives just a few blocks from us. On his way home from work, if he needs to stop at the store and pick up something (a couple cans of cream of mushroom soup, spaghetti, stuff like that) he sometimes will give us a call and see if we have what he needs since I have an awesome stockpile. Nicer to come by and visit with us for a bit,
have a cold one and decompress before he gets home than go to the store.

Yesterday he called and wondered if we had a "spare" prime rib roast in the big freezer. O-o

Husband and I laughed and laughed as we informed him we sure as hell wouldn't tell him "yes" even if we did.

180 This person reminds me of my college roommate's ex girlfriend. To this day, I blame myself that he got caught up with her.

We lived in the engineering dorm, and he was an EE major (works for IBM now). Nice guy. A bit socially awkward. Doesn't get a lot of attention from the ladies, you know the type.

Her roommate was rather cute and we had invited her (the roommate) down to our room one night. I forget the reason. Want to say homework to one of the freshman intro physics classes or something, and she came along as well. Well it was clear that the the roommate wasn't interested, but she clearly was. Hanging off of him. That loud, fake obnoxious laughter at his jokes. That sort of thing. I didn't think he would go for her, but apparently he did. My armchair psychiatrist explanation is that he liked the attention, and it was convenient.

Well, she turned out to be the single most unpleasant person I've ever had the misfortune to spend extended periods of time with. She'd force him to hang out with her instead of us, and on the rare occasion she let him, she'd tag along and make him feel guilty by saying she was bored the entire time. We got really involved in the karate club at school, and went to a meet at a school a few hours away one time, and she invited herself, though she didn't participate. On the drive back, she had a mental breakdown and started berating him (while 3 of his friends were sitting in the back seat) because he tortured her by making her sit through it, how she didn't have anything to do the entire day and he was a terrible person for subjecting her to it.

The relationship lasted for something like 3 years. Way longer than it should have, and I think for a while at the end, he was staying just because he felt a sense of obligation to. Eventually, she managed to piss off not only his friends, but everyone in his family as well, and he's doing a lot better now that she's out of his life.

Long story short. These sorts of people have very few redeeming qualities, and they want to make everyone around them as unhappy as they are.

I think that's true of many of these snowflakes. They threw tantrums at 3 to get their way and their parents gave in because it is easier to cave and just buy the toy or give the kids candy to shut them up rather than discipline them. And if a strategy works, you keep on using it.

It's still working for them - witness how the university administrators give in to their demands, no matter how witless or trivial? Think of it - Crowder was probably the first person who told many of them face to face that they are full of shit.

Her repeated calls of "You're not welcome here" can only be a pathetic attempt for her to identify with the "here" that implies "the rest of us" that make up her school.

Of course, that same impulse to bury one's identity in the crowd, and the need to draw approval from the crowd can and usually does lead in nasty directions.

196 Trigglypuff reminds me a lot of a girl during my Catholic grammar school days. She was on the big side, but not quite as big as Trigglypuff. She was strong though but she had a huge anger problem. Not a good mix. I used to hear stories about her picking up those old school apple computers and throwing them across the room.

When I was in 1st grade, we had gym class with the 2nd graders. This girl was a grade above me. So we're changing for gym class and he hear someone yelling followed by a loud clunk sound. Apparently the tallest kid the class upset this girl somehow and grew angry. She picked him up and threw him across the room and he landed into the trash can. That trash can had a huge dent in it from that day on.

She never was expelled or anything though and I always wondered why. She was black, but I really don't think that had anything to do with it. Her mother was in the Air Force like my dad so they knew each other a little bit. The only reason she left the school was because her mother was transferred to South Korea.

I also think this is why they are recruited by progressive activists: having crazy people in your front line unnerves people, they don't want to engage. So, yes, we can feel sorry for her, but still need to recognize she is a weapon that plays on normal people having sympathy for her; polite people preferring to not engage or shut her down. Weaponized crazy.

I deal with people daily who are so overwhelmed by the distance between what they think they should be and what is, that they invent barriers and emergencies to prevent themselves from even trying to participate in the world.

Some are so infant-like that they insist that they be helped through everything and are unable to do anything. "you make me do XYZ, no-one can accomplish this, you must aid me completely or it will never be done; IT IS YOUR FAULT I AM FAILING!"

They really hate the response of, "OK, These are the consequences of your decision. Call me back if you change your mind," having never had to deal with it before.

Outrage against the Armys actions rightfully ensued after the incident, since the Green Beret had served honorably for more than 11 years and most would argue that taking a stand against a child rapist was the right thing to do, morally speaking.

270 Lizzy you hit it on the head in >253

As for whether this poor girl would be more pleasant if she looked like Charlize Theron, I actually think she would. She is trapped in that body. It's nobody's fault but hers, but just imagine the years of work it would take for her to do something about it, how helpless she must feel, how her own body tells her she has to eat multiple times a day and every time she does she reinforces her servitude to her weight.

And then remember that the leftist orthodoxy she has chosen to align herself with is in the business of telling its thralls that every solution EXCEPT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is required to fix their problems. That they should try everything except the one thing that can help them.

It's very much the Matrix. Only we're living it. What can be done? Seriously, how can things change for the better? It would require a massive cultural shift, which would necessarily require as a prerequisite a violation of "polite" speech and a rejection of the media, academic, entertainment, and political institutions which have become the unified mouthpiece for this corrupting, evil message of subservience.

Last year, my son's best friend bought a corn roasting machine at a repo auction.

This thing has racks you put corn with husks on and it rotates in an barbeque-like enclosure. Big sonofabitch. On trailer wheels to tow behind a pickup. It was used at fairs and events as a roasted corn on the cob business.

We're going to get this together with Pile-O-Pig and have a serious cookout.

I recall back in the 70's, atheists said things like "I think Jesus was a great teacher and good man like Buddha, but not God."

Now they are not even willing to concede the "good man" part. Putting Jesus on dartboards, performing sex acts on a "gay Jesus" at Folsom St. Fair, amusing oneself by taunting Christians with "zombie Jesus" jokes - that isn't just distaste for the Church as an institution, or organized religion. It's a deep hatred for everything Christ is and stands for.

308 I had to be medivac'd to 7th Day Adventist hospital in Hong Kong once.
Spent ten days being treated.

It was fun in my gown riding the elevator down, walking right across the lobby, and out to the parking lot to smoke, with the portable IV stand rolling along with me.

Of course, flying out of Hong Kong with no passport is fun in and of itself.

Did you know they have disposable paper underwear there?

309 @291 No mention of trying to locate rightful owners, or their heirs?
In my state, that stuff would be state property until proven otherwise.

Not far away, there was a tiny but bank-looking State Bank that was taken under during the Bank Holiday. That same year, Prohibition ended, so for 50-some years it was a bar. Made a cute bar. Then some Other Laws came along, and now it's derelict. Wonder who lost the most money there?

Thousands of bank branches will be closing very shortly. Luckily for landlords, banks stopped being built to look solid and permanent about 60 years ago. They can't all be "Internet Cafes," though.
