Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Former Senior FBI Agents Pen Open Letter to Director Comey Regarding Hillary's Email Crimes: "The Future of the FBI Rests on This Case"But our prevaricator in chief says he's seen no evidence of law-breaking! The Long Island Chapter of Former FBI Agents (who knew there were so many?) writes to Comey in part:In 1978 a number of agents in the Chapter were directly involved in a sting operation, ABSCAM, a highly publicized investigation of which Judge William Webster said at the outset, "The future of the FBI rests on this case.” Your's and the bureau's challenge today is a far cry from what existed thirty-eight years ago. Similarly, it is the Chapter membership’s opinion that not only does the future of the Bureau but also that of the United States of America rests on the outcome of this crucial case. Decisions must be made on facts alone. Much is at stake here--people's trust in the Bureau for years to come, as well as the Bureau's reputation among our allies, partners, and friends as the greatest law enforcement agency in the world. In 1973, the public hoped, and expected, that justice would be done in the Watergate case. No such hope or expectation exists today. Everyone knows the fix is in. America is broken, probably beyond repair. America is just Imperial Rome now with better technology and worse weather. This might be too off in the deep weeds but --speaking of Watergate.
Hillary cut her teeth on Watergate--she was one of the junior researchers--fetchers, whatever. Nixon did the tapes--probably out of paranoia, but that wasn't unfounded because the Dems stole the Kennedy election from him via Daley corruption in Chicago, and LBJ in Texas. Fast forward to Hillary as Obama's Secretary of State. It is obvious that she and Robert Gates were going to be the fall guys for anything that went haywire in the area of foreign policy--which covers most of what a President can be singularly responsible for--and therefore held accountable. Hillary decided to protect herself with her own records --a private server, but also used it to collect evidence that would be impermeable to the Obama Administration. IOW--she has the goods on him and nothing much is going to happen. Scarier possibility, any foreign entity that hacked "the records" has the goods on both of them also. Expect an FBI criminal referral to AG Lynch: "As shown in the attached report, our investigation has developed sufficient credible evidence to convict ___, ___ and ___ of the following crimes." Lynch has prosecutorial discretion, but Comey's report will assuredly leak.
This may be what the Obamans want: to drive Hillary out of the race with a leaked criminal referral while still holding an indictment over her head. All joking aside (and there's some pretty good joking going on, as expected), I really do wonder if this would be a major thread in the garment starting to unravel.
The recklessness, the criminality, the brazenness in this case are so great, the subject matter here so weighty, that one really does wonder what the effects will be if lawlessness prevails. And don't forget - the unbelievable security violations almost have their equal in the financial corruption of the SecState's office, something without precedent (or even remotely comparable analogue) in US history. And unlike some of the other things, which require at least some background and focus to understand (SCOTUS derailment, lawless executive, fiscal insanity), these crimes and cover-ups are as easy to comprehend as they are outrageous. The gladius and the imperial legions who wheeled them were pretty much
the tippy top of technology. Roman military engineering is still consider the definitive. The gladius was actually a copy of a Hispanio-Celtic sword (gladius hispaniensis). The rOmans aslo copied the Celtic shields, armor (chain mail), helmets, and possibly their iron javelins, though these items were subsequently modified over the years. The Celts were actually better ironworkers than were the Romans, and I think it was the Gaulish swordsmiths in the later empire that introduced patternwelding and longer blades to the legions (the later Roman spathae were NOT an example of the Romans copying the barbarians, contra generations of writers, but the opposite - a new Roman design introduced to meet new needs c. 250 AD and copied by the barbarians). FTL soon please! at April 19, 2016 07:15 PM (WVsWD) First of all, I can't believe you just now saw that for the first time. I watched the launch and landing live, and was holding my breath the whole time. Secondly, not to take anything away from Apollo, but the Lunar Module was a small spacecraft designed to land on the Moon, in an airless environment with 1/6 Earth's gravity. It had two human pilots to guide it to a flat landing spot away from craters and boulders. The Falcon 9 first stage is about 150 feet tall and has to land in full Earth gravity. Both it and the Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship are entirely automated. The Falcon 9 has to cope with wind (That's why it came down at an angle--it was fighting the wind in order to stay on course), and the ASDS has to maintain a precise position while coping with waves. The rocket and the ship do not communicate with each other. The rocket is programmed to land on a precise spot, and the ship has to be at that exact spot. Somebody described it as like hitting a postage stamp with a bullet from a mile away, except that the bullet has to stop on the stamp and not go through it. This could not have been done 50 years ago. The computing power didn't exist. Posted by: rickl at April 19, 2016 07:29 PM (sdi6R) 186

There's no good outcome possible for the election: If Hillary is not indicted, the agents will resign and raise a stink. Hillary will be tainted and will have to answer all the charges anyway in the court of public opinion, and Obama will look like an idiot or accomplice. If Hillary is indicted, who the hell will the candidate be? Will she withdraw or just tough it out? And her boss Obama will again look like an idiot or accomplice. And all of this throws the GOP nom into chaos. Will the establishment blow up when either Trump is nominated or Cruz finagles his way to nomination?
