And Happy Friday!

4 Not buying the big setback on the gun story. That is one single activist Judge who knows what the law is, but decided that it is premature to dismiss the lawsuit at this point. There hasn't even been a hearing yet. There was no ruling on anything. This is all about liberal propaganda and claiming they "won".

5 The Russian jet article?

There was a time when maritime interaction between us and Russia was very ritualized.

Each party respected the might and authority of the other nation, and would send a message without deviating from the understood norm.

If you did this action, it meant....

If you lit up fire control radar, it meant that the next step would be a physical response intended to destroy the perceived threat.

Now, Putin is just rolling coal on Obama's front yard, and laughing his ass off.

In other words, the respect part of the kabuki dance is long gone.

Heh, yeah, Koskinen says a flat tax would save the IRS a lot of money.

Does anyone actually think he's talking about reducing the size of the IRS? Laying off a few agents, that sort of thing?

He'd just have you do your taxes on a postcard in 10 seconds and mail it in, then the IRS would continue to hire agents, buy office space, and submit budgets that include promotional and cost-of-living pay increases. Then they'd sit at their cubicles all day watching porn.

They'd save money all right . . . maybe on overtime.

It always makes me laugh when gun grabbers cite US v. Miller to try to say that only the militia have the right to arms. If you actually read the case, Miller lost, not because the court said there's no individual right to bear arms, but because the sawed-off shotgun in question wasn't of a type commonly used by the military, and therefore not protected (apparently missing that whole WWI trench warfare thing, but I digress). So by the court's logic, citizens are permitted to own weapons in common use by the military. Libs' heads tend to explode when I tell them this and ask them to, please, keep citing Miller.

Leslie Van Houten is an excellent example of what can happen if you take a good hard look at your past misdeeds and attempt to understand how you came to commit them. She's shown that it is possible to turn yourself and your life around. That's why she should stay behind bars, showing the other criminals how it's done and how much you lose when you force death on someone else.

62 Russian Bear Bombers?

One of the few aircraft which were so loud that you could actually hear them in the Berthing Compartment of a Knox class Frigate at sea.
And they were slow enough that you could rush topside and actually see them circling, or overflying the ship.

Most of the fighters were so fast that you actually really only got a "Thump" sound, and they were gone.

90 From that AP story about the two tied old socialist hacks

"The rivalry that once centered on wonkish policy disagreements..."

Wonkish?. They make it sound like the Dems are interested in tweeking a deduction or SS cost of living adjustment. These two, and Dems in general, want to turn turn society on it's head. Bernie openly call for a revolution. revolution. Example: Deciding homosexual union is the same as marriage or flooding the country with millions of third world immigrant are not "wonkish" policy positions.

One thing the Lewandowski haters could never explain is why would he intentionally hurt her? To back that lame theory, they had to demonize him which was bullshit. It was another way to demonize Trump, which is also bullshite.

I'm looking at it in regards to how this elections cycle is playing out, and how it is demoralizing some segments of the voting population.

Scott Adams got me on this line, FWIW. He wrote that in Iran you can vote for anybody you like as long as they've been cleared by the Ayatollah. Which is something we call Dictatorship. And now we're seeing both Parties are actually fairly Iranian-style themselves.

So, I don't know the particular match for that fuse, but the fuse is being laid now, IMO.

"Nice, Old , Socialist Uncle Bernie" let the mask slip quite a bit last night.
He believes that the state must be mobilized to save us all from global warming and would likely ban most power sources beyond wind, sun and rubbing two sticks together.

Bernie is ostensibly a socialist/commie but he took a bit of a totalitarian turn lat night. If fascism is the belief that the state must constantly act to defeat it's "global enemies" aka nuclear power, climate fluctuation, and oil and that any extreme measure is acceptable in that fight. then Bernie certainly went there.

The red was surfacing so visibly at the debate that all he needed was a yellow hammer and sickle on his forehead and he could have flown himself as the Soviet flag.

121 "Romans feed the feral cats because: "during war the cats fed us; now we feed the cats." Sounds better in Italian but you get it."

During our two tours of duty in Gaeta Italy, we somehow managed to acquire four rescue kittens.
Two of which quite literally grew up feral in the back alleys behind our home.

While the Italians do have a large feral cat population, for the most part they look at them exactly like most Americans look at farm/barn cats.

They serve a purpose, and we sometimes feed them.
The Vet?

Not likely.

Unfortunately, we are now down to one surviving Italian Kitty, who is getting on to about 14 years old.

She dotes on Mrs VIA, and will sit next to her an the chair all day long if possible.

But to this day, neither of us can hold and pick her up. Bringing the four of them to the US on a PCS move was quite the challenge.

195 All kidding aside - once the cost of legal labor becomes prohibitive, the marketplace will adapt with increased automation (on the legal end) and with cash under the table (on the illegal end).

End result? More unemployment for low-skilled and/or otherwise marginal workers, yet another up-tick in illegal immigration, with greater efficiency in the surviving enterprises. Hopefully, the economy will be robust enough to support the parasites for a little while longer.

This is, of course, the craziest thing about encouraging the flood of illegal aliens by Our Betters.

These jobs won't exist in a few years.

They are creating a YUUUGE welfare underclass to eat up the wealth of the middle class through taxes.

Kind of the double squeeze- the Our Betters disenfranchising those middle class individuals who work hard in college or at their job and find those jobs taken by an imported H1B.

The Dims and GOPe appear to be forcing America's demographics toward a 3rd World appearance with a thick class of wealthy oligarchs and a thick slice of underclass-

surrounding a thin little layer of middle class margarine.

Can this really be their endgame?

Every time one of these these things rears its ugly head, they have choices. Do they handle it in a responsible, sane, dispassionate way, or act out of self interest and bias?

Owners of parking lots in the surrounding area should band together and offer a "special rate" for long-term parking to residents of the new tower.
