The next Space X launch is 4/28 and another one in May. Then there are a couple each month, mostly private communication satellites.

The one that will be extra special is in Nov when Space X Falcon Heavy rocket will launch on its first demonstration flight. The heavy-lift rocket is formed of three Falcon 9 rocket cores strapped together.

In some countries, Brazil I believe is one, your state-sponsored benefits are tied to the exercise of your vote. No vote, no bennies.

now I have no idea whether that is really enforced or not but....

it does seem to incentivize the 'wrong' people to dictate the direction and policies of the country e.g. MOAR FREE STUFF

52 So the Genius-In-Chief wants compulsory voting so that we can get voter turnout rates up to 70-80%. "

Fascinating that a "compulsory" registration combined with "mandatory" voting still only results in, at best, some three quarters (and local aussie news seems to report real number as just over half) compliance in a relatively lower population nation/state with fairly secure (heck, it's an island) borders...

Go figure.

58 A couple of passing thoughts:

(1) If primaries are used to select delegates, than that process is given a certain amount of legitimacy.

(2) Any delegate maneuver that can be used against one candidate can be used against another candidate.

(3) Cruz supporters should be thanking Trump for having effectively cleared all of the candidates that the GOP establishment was promoting.

(4) Hillary cannot put Sanders away, demonstrating how politically and electorally clumsy she actually is.

(5) Bernie Sanders did not join the Democrats, the Democrats joined him.

68 "The chief problem of [the Eastern Establishment] ... for a long time has been how to
make the two Congressional parties more national and international. The argument that
the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right
and the other of the Left, is [to the Eastern Establishment] a foolish idea acceptable only
to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, [they believe that] the two parties should be
almost identical, so that [can control the elections] ... without leading to any profound or

extensive shifts in policy. The [Eastern Establishment believes that] policies that are vital
and necessary for America are no longer subjects of significant disagreement, but are
disputable only in details of procedure, priority, or method: we must remain strong,
continue to function as a great world Power in cooperation with other Powers, ... keep the
economy moving without significant slump, help other countries do the same, provide the
basic social necessities t or all our citizens, open up opportunities for social shifts for
those willing to work to achieve them, and defend the basic Western outlook of diversity,
pluralism, cooperation, and the rest of it, as already described. These things any national
American party hoping to win a presidential election must accept. But either party in
office becomes in time corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigor-less. Then it should be
possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none
of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic
policies."

142 A suspected Pakistani bomber linked to an attack that killed 164 people is one of scores of terrorists who posed as refugees to enter Europe and are now an 'imminent' threat, investigators claim.

The Pakistani man, along with another, are believed to have arrived in Europe with two suicide bombers who blew themselves up outside the Stade de France in November.

It has also emerged that they were initially arrested in Greece after police realised their passports were among a batch stolen by Isis - but were released the continue their journey across Europe.

They were arrested in Austria after the Paris attacks, but it is feared they too had been plotting atrocities in Europe.

Muhammad Ghani Usman, who is believed to be a veteran bomb-maker for the Pakistani terror group behind the Mumbai bombings in 2008, has been detained near Salzburg, in Austria.

The labor union that led the charge for a $15 minimum wage hike in cities across California is now moving to secure an exemption for employers under union contracts.

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor buried the exemption on the eighth page of its 12-page proposal for the Santa Monica City Council to review Tuesday while deciding whether to follow Los Angeles and increase the minimum wage.

The loophole would allow employers with collective bargaining agreements to sidestep the wage hike and pay their union members below the proposed $15-per-hour minimum wage.

169 131 "If everyone is mad at Colorado, wait until PA next week. The delegates are on the ballot, not the candidates."

It's getting harder and harder to give the benefit of the doubt to #NeverTrump people. I understand how powerful wishcasting is, but at some point, these folks need to face reality.

Like Colorado, these people who are now delegates are not legally bound to vote Cruz or anyone else. Trump will be within striking distance of 1237 on the first ballot no matter what.

Do the #NeverTrump people believe all these delegates are that committed to keeping Trump out that they'll give up all the benefits of being in the small group that puts Trump over the top on the first ballot?

That would be unbelievable.

Joe Shmoe, Drain Commissioner for Bumbfuck County Colorado, is going to turn down being the Assistant Secretary of Commerce in the Trump administration because he wants to keep his word to State party chairman?

Right.

Just keep believing...

If that's what it takes!

But really, the campaign will get the names of the delegates, find out all they can about them, and target them however appropriate. Is the guy a wannabe big player? Make him feel important and ask for his advice. Is he mercenary? Play to that and imply that there's a place for him in a future administration. Is he lonely? Be his best friend.

If Trump is taking his delegates for granted, and I really don't think that's out of character, then those delegates are pretty open to being recruited for Team Cruz. It's a very old story and not one unique to Trump.

Bound delegates need to vote for the person they are bound for on the first ballot. Trump needs to win on the first ballot, or he's not going to win.

The smart move is to forget about the bound delegates and concentrate on the unbound ones.

Let them tell their State and National bosses that they'll vote Cruz or Kasich, but on the first ballot, they vote for Trump. Instead of heading back to Bumbfuck County, Colorado, they pack their things for Washington, DC. But they point out that the gallows was covered with snow tho its suppose to be Sept. They do some facial id and see he has a mole that Goeth did not have. It turns out the film of his hanging was the gov of Warsaw, Ludwig Fischer. I like how the Poles executed nazis where they committed their crimes; Hoess in Auschwitz. Stroop on the site of the destroyed Warsaw Ghetto. Goeth in Cracow.

327 Alternatively, if Trump was really serious he would have know last August that the rules changed and acted on that fact to have a real ground game in the State, but he didn't. The bottom line this is not the first time that Trump and his campaign have failed to pay attention to State Primary rules. PA comes to mind also.

This is a specious argument for two reasons, first because he isn't LOSING the race, he is unassailably ahead and this is a tactic not to elect another candidate but merely to deny him the nomination. Do you see the difference?

Second, this isn't happening in a vacuum, Trump delegates have been removed from their delegations n multiple states, flipped (presumably bribed or pressured) not necessarily TO another candidate but away from Trump, and now this, where there is no popular vote at all, but a delegate assignment by a state party. The time of the rule rewrite does not change the fact that Colorado voters aren't getting a say.

It's ludicrous to see support for this.

Double edged sword. People joked how in 1976, it was also an outsider election, and Carter's theme was that he was such an outsider, he couldn't even find the place.....And he spent the next four years proving it.

Also, I get that main appeal was that he was an outsider. I never said that it was appealing to me. And he is failing to manage the herd of cats that are delegates in CO. But he's somehow gonna take on entrenched interests in DC?

Ghost,

I can't improve on anything your saying. Bravo.

Cruz's path to the nomination is by stealing delegates and working with the GOPe. And while I'm sure Lyin' Ted thinks that is perfectly OK, I'm surprised at the number of his supporters that are perfectly happy, even giddy at his machinations.

I think Cruz is in it to win it. Because Trump and Cruz are now coming up so close to each other that we will have to go to a not oft used means of getting through the election process (contested convention) is part of it.

I do agree with you that Colorado citizens not having their individual votes counted stinks on ice. For my state I would not have chosen to have the delegate rule in place.

Until the rules/laws are changed, they are in place and we must take measures to turn the tide in our favor with what is written. Unless what being a nation of laws does not mean what I thought it does.

I was told that bombing was a stupid idea. But maybe I was mistaken.

The B-52s are to be used to drop leaflets on ISIS soldiers reminding them that the first Thursday in each month is re-cycle pick up day, and to make sure that they have their re-cycle bins available for the trucks to pick up. The leaflets are in Arabic - of course.

Hey, Mis, maybe it's a browser thing, and yours corrected it? Whatever, the link is misconstructed. I get a 404 from Pixy, because it appears as an internal Ace link. Like when people leave the http:// off of their name URLs.

Hover text shows it starts off with
http://acecomments.mu.nu/%3Cbr%20/%3E
before it gets to the actual link.

That %3C...%3E stuff is the br tag, which is what the source code shows intruding in your link tag.

I know what the link is about. I could get to the story by just clearing off the crud at the beginning, but not everyone is a webtech geenyez like me.

358 It would be easier to defeat gravity than human nature...

All of these Cruz delegates that aren't legally bound to Cruz on the first ballot - the ones being poached in North Carolina and other states - are human beings.

If they play along with the GOPe, the best they can hope for is being part of 2472 delegates picking someone that two thirds of the republican voters will hate. They will sleep well knowing they kept their promise to the party bosses as they go back to their job as County Commissioner.

If 30 or 40 of them (or whatever the number turns out to be) listen to Trump's offer, they end up in Washington as Assistant Secretary of Defense.

You've got to be quite a loyal party member to tell your wife that she needs to keep the job at the checkout counter at the Piggly Wiggly instead of getting that $300K/yr job as director of community relations with a non-profit in Washington.

I don't think there are 2400 of these positions to give away, but I'm sure there are 100 or so.

As Speaker, he ran up the budget while Republicans had the House, the Senate, the White House, and a conservative Supreme Court. He's scum, but the prosecution is bogus.
