Bill Clinton: Unlike When I Was President, The World Is Coming Apart Right Now
These sorts of stories are part of a general narrative. The narrative that accompanies them is that Bill Clinton keeps looking for ways to take shots at Obama and undermine him.
The idea lurks in the background that this is all part of a piece with his "racist" campaign against Obama in 2008, and that he's never gotten over it. Perhaps. But I can't help but notice that this a very thin-skinned, Obama-protecting narrative, that seems likely to have flowed directly from Barack Obama's own cramped, self-justifying, self-pitying brain, and the similar hive-brains of his acolytes, ever ready to defend the Great Black Dope from slights to his person whether they actually occurred or not. Previously, in early March (was that a century ago, or is that just me?), Bill Clinton had "trashed" Barack Obama's economy, as the Federalist put it.During a campaign stop for his wife in North Carolina on Monday, former president Bill Clinton trashed President Obama for painting a "pretty picture" of economic recovery that doesn’t line up with reality. "Millions and millions and millions and millions of people look at that pretty picture of America [Obama] painted and they cannot find themselves in it to save their lives," Clinton said. "People are upset, frankly; they're anxiety-ridden, they’re disoriented, because they don’t seem themselves in that picture," he said. "Hillary is running for president to put every single American in the picture President Obama painted."Video at the link. Then, on March 21, Bill Clinton decried the "awful legacy" of the past eight years. (And the seven years before that, he added.)
"But if you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the 7 years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her," Clinton said.Video at the link. Quote is from the next following link. Now is that Clinton taking a sneaky, bitter-defeated-rival shot at Obama, or is that Bill Clinton just noticing things that are actually true? In politics, it is the rule that you do not notice things that are true if they happen to undermine your party's narrative and political position, so this could easily fall into both categories: Bill Clinton just saying things that are obvious and incontrovertibly true, and being a dick getting political payback by saying something obvious and incontrovertibly true. With this background, Clinton now turns to what a disaster Obama's foreign policy record is, though he'd better be careful -- his wife has a co-author credit on this.*
During an appearance in Philadelphia, Clinton said, "Unlike when I became president, a lot of things are coming apart around the world now."I don't know if Bill Clinton is really going out of his way to put down Obama or if it's just... unavoidable. How can you talk about the last seven years as anything other than a disaster on all fronts -- economic, security, social? And bear in mind the general model of any election is that someone runs as a continuity candidate, versus someone who runs as a change agent. But that is only possible if there is something that people actually want to continue the, um, continuity of. Hillary Clinton is forced to play a half-in, half-out game on continuity, because Obama's braindead zombie cultists absolutely demand that he be shown that "respect." But she's also running as a "change" candidate -- and this will be much more obvious in the general election, when she doesn't have to appease the Obama Minions as much. The point is, both candidates, whoever they may turn out to be, will be running as "change" candidates in the general election -- implicitly repudiating eight years of Obama's diastrous misrule. Because he's a bad president who's a prisoner of his relentless dogmatism for his bad, musty-smell-of-1968 ideas. And Bill Clinton is really only preparing the field for that turn in general campaign season. Reality is coming, Obama. * Assuming he wants his wife to be president, which some people doubt. I do think he wants his wife to be president, because it ultimately aggrandizes his own ego. No one will doubt that Hillary only became president due to her husband, and Hillary would represent the Clinton Restoration to the throne.

I sometimes wonder if as conservatives we would just be better off making the Democrat Party more centrist than trying to influence Republican races.
I don't like Bill Clinton, but if the Democrat Party had embraced Clintonian Centrism, this country would be so much better off and the Stupid Party losing wouldn't be such a big deal.

Seems par for the course. Back in 2000, Al Gore didn't run as a continuation of the administration he'd supposedly been a part of. I wasn't thinking of myself as conservative then but a moment that really made me wonder about these people was when Gore's VP pick, Joe Lieberman, desperate for something he and All would supposedly fix, declared that the NASDAQ was at its lowest point since the Depression.
That doesn't make any sense. A few minutes of checking online and I knew what was bothering me: the NASDAQ didn't exist during the Depression. It was formed during the 1960s (Bernie Madoff was part of that effort when he was still legit) and didn't start trading until the early 1970s. But Joe needed something to talk up to make it seem like he and All had a list of things that needed fixing and they were just the guys for the job.
This also stands out to me as the difference between identity politics and a belief in the nation created by the founders. If I applied the same mentality as certain other groups, I would have had to vote Gore-Lieberman because I'm Jewish and Lieberman would have been the first Jewish VP and possibly President to follow. I've stopped listening to Carr because it was almost like four hour trump commercial, same BS with Hannity & Rush for 5-6 months, but Limbaugh hasn't been so trump, but I've only listened for 1 hour a day lately.

Look there just aren't enough productive people anymore to pay for the freeloaders. There is going to come a point at which you start to take so much from people who've actually earned it, they are going to fight back. Places like NJ, NY, CT and CA are going to find this out faster than anyone. People are moving to states where they can hang onto their own money.

We had wonderful guides in Jo-burg, Pretoria, Cape Town, and in-between. All of them had fought against apartheid and personally knew Mandela. One guy we're staying in touch with, was imprisoned and tortured, but is for reconciliation and forgiveness. He despises the corrupt government they have in power now.
He asked us about our feelings on Obama, and we were frank. We told him race relations were a disaster under him, along with the economy and everything else. Cyril, our guide, said we weren't the first Americans to tell him that.

When I think of the typical delegate it's someone who makes their living from being connected to government. Now there will be true-believing Constitutionalists and Tea Partiers in the mix, but most of the delegates -- even the ones pledged to Trump or Cruz on the first ballot -- will vote their personal best interest if they can.
Why do we think that Cruz will be successful at planting the necessary hundreds and hundreds of "his" people in as delegates to win after the first ballot.
When word comes down from the Inner Party that Rent Seeking delegates should vote for Romney/Ryan/Whoever if they know what's good for them, how do you think they're going to vote?
