What the Trump-haters don't like to bother figuring out is that, barring some radical change, that Trump will easily take winner-take-all states NY, CT, DE, and NJ, for a total of 190.
Yeah, I know - NY isn't winner-take-all (WTA). Except that it is if you get over 50% (and Trump was polling at 64% there, last i heard). Even without the 50%, it's WTA by district, so he'd probably get virtually all of them anyway.
Beyond that, he needs about 50% of the remaining available delegates, and that's not even counting that he will probably get about 20 for winning MO (which was in recount, last I heard).
If Trump misses, it probably won't be by much (MAYBE he can corral up some unbound delegates for the rest). He'll end up with about 50% more delegates than Cruz. Really it will come down to California'a 172 delegates (WTA by district). By then (07JUN) Cruz will officially be running as a "spoiler" candidate, and a tool for the establishment that he was supposedly against.

It is likely a goblin shark. They have rarely been seen in the waters between Florida and Cuba (they are rarely seen anywhere). Maybe Watson was attacked by a goblin shark and described it to Copley?

been to a few Chinese funerals....there's no better documented event in their lives, aside from their weddings. To me, it seemed disrespectful, somehow.
I recall when I was introduced by the eldest daughter - the man had only daughters - to his corpse. "He is come to honor you, Father, and to show that your children are worthy of your name." I bowed deeply to him, then to her, and then to each of the children, in serried ranks by age.

Now the fact is, when it comes to regular "news reporting", there really is not that much difference between Fox, CNN, or any of the others. And during the day, that is about all you see on most of the cable news channels; just the news of the moment. It is generally during the evenings that the "political" stuff is aired, especially the shows on Fox that give the lefties such a case of the vapors, not during the business day.
When I set up those TVs in the break rooms on Fox News, the truth is most people didn't seem to give a damn one way or another. But goddam, there was the usual small clique of special snowflakes there that all headed for the fainting couches when they saw that "Faux News" was on those break room TVs, and boy howdy, how they squealed to management about it.
After a few days of hearing the in-house Commies, gays and such whine about the e-vil Fox News being on the TVs, the bosses ordered that all the break room TVs be set to CNBC and left there, so that is what I did.
I would assume that is why you only see CNN and the like at airports and such. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that...

Which raises the side issue of all of the pictures and video made of crime scenes and victims. I'm sure that there have been leaks before, and that even some of the ghoulish TV crime shows seem to be showing some ( I relaize that they are commonly doing 'dramatizations' now.

She'd go out to her husband's gravesite every year on their anniversary and have her portrait made. The album is quite the document.
People take too many pictures now - I do photography, but only with my 35mm, my 120, and, for special occasions and subjects, my 6X9, cameras.
Film has a warmth, and the equipment requires a care, that the selfie-stick will never approach, and negatives, stored properly, will last indefinitely. That makes you think before you open the shutter.

Geography as a hard science has been in decline for a century. Not that geo-subjects aren't done and done hard, but not under that heading. Most "geographers" are pure social statisticians, correlating people counts with various Movements and Symptoms. Thus they "prove" with "studies." One of the first old sciences to get made into a Social Science. So next time you meet a "geographer," feel out the actual field of enquiry before getting out your sextant. So to speak.

Meh... No need to be depressed Donna, the convention will likely be contested but that is a normal part of the process if no one gets to 50% +1 (no matter what Trump or his supporters are pushing, "the most" delegates going in has never, ever been the metric).
Something you may not know, nine Presidents (including Abraham Lincoln) got their party's nomination at contested conventions. In Lincoln's case, he was trailing William Henry Seward in the delegate count going into the convention, won on the third ballot and made Seward his Secretary of State after he was elected.

During the swim, I noticed something dark and ominous moving below me and I got that terrified "oh s*** feeling" in my brain before I could rationally process what I was looking at.
Turned out to be a manta ray about 15 feet across about 30 feet below me. Scared the crap out of me, but the adrenaline dump shaved off several minutes for a PB.

Such polling presumes a static model. Plug in A and you get one result. Plug in B and you get a different result.
We have NO WAY of knowing if the results we're obtaining will endure in the event of a contested convention; still less for a brokered one.
At the moment, such questions are remote and more academic.
We would need to KNOW the mindset of people who were dead set on Guy A,B or C AFTER the convention.

Actually jwest everybody with any sense knows that a contested convention does not favor Trump. The rules as they stand now (and even if they are switched back to pre-Romney rules) ONLY allow consideration of Trump and Cruz on any ballot. Despite the hysterical nightmarecasting around here, the rules are not going to change enough for even Kasich to be an option... much less Romney or Ryan.
Add to that the fact that Cruz is actually doing the work to get pro-Cruz (or at least anti-Trump) delegates elected even in states that Trump won and you get a Cruz win on the second or third ballot.

If the general election is Trump vs Hillary, Hillary wins big time.
Of course, that's if the turnout model is the same as it was with Obama. And if republicans have land lines in an amount that accounts for a 6 point adjustment to the actual poll answers. And if there is no increase in republican participation or enthusiasm.
Sure, Hillary will win if she excites blacks just as much as Obama did.
Of course, every indication so far is that democrats are demoralized and staying home and that they hate Hillary just about as much as we do.
Coupled with the fact that Bernie voters are going to be ass-fucked royally at their convention, the pollster's use of an energized, united democrat party seems to be the ravings of a lunatic.

Question about veganism/vegetarianism. I've noticed that often they are creating special products to taste like or mimic the food they are giving up: burgers, cheese, bacon, etc. I always wondered why they did not just utterly reject those flavors since they are the taste of animal oppression, and embrace new uncorrupted flavors having nothing to do with meat or dairy.
It's like our brains are hard wired to seek out animal based products, and they are trying to trick their brain. Just a thought...

Your flawed assumption is that the Rules Committee only has the option of pre- or post- Romney rules for candidates.
There is another option which is neither, which is why they are floating Ryan's name.
They have already gamed out how they will win.
Now, the question is who will they plug into the slot that they believe they can create.
So, people who want Cruz better start pushing back loud and strong now- not that it will make any difference if it goes to a Brokered Convention-
because once the rules change...anything goes.

Actually, if you recall, a LOT of people were floating Ryan's name after Boehner resigned, it was only Ryan himself who said he didn't want the job. He was obviously talked into it.
But this time around, not only has Ryan said he doesn't want it, Priebus has said no, tons and tons of people are saying no to the whole Ryan idea.
IMO the whole Ryan/Romney/Boehner names are being floated by Trumpites in order to scare people into giving Trump an absolute majority. But who actually in a position of power is saying "go Ryan"?

Cruz is not cutting any deals.
And despite your butthurt (and Trumps threats to sue), Cruz is playing by the rules. He is getting his delegates elected so that he wins once they are unbound. And I don't feel it is even unfair to do that when the delegate leader is still under 40% on average in the states that have decided so far (which means 60% on average do not support him).

There are three versions of this painting. The first one Copley painted is the one in the National Gallery. Copley then made a copy for his own collection; that is the one at the MFA. I've seen both of them. There is a third, smaller painting of the same subject that is very similar but not a copy, and I don't know where that one is on display.

Turns out there was a flaw in the glass panes and they all had to be replaced.
It was fun seeing a 60 story building which appeared to be made out of plywood for a year and a half.
So then Building 19, a local warehouse wholesaler, had the bright idea to buy all the defective panes from the insurance company and sell them to people for coffee tables, remodeling projects, etc. Sold them all.

The thing is, death wasn't something that was far away and handled by professionals back then. Upwards of 50% of children died before they could reach the age of 5 and when they died, it was their mothers who washed and dressed them and they were laid out in the parlor not a funeral home.
Add to that, the advent of advent photography and the fact that death photos might be the only photo a parent had of their deceased loved one and you get... Momento Mori.

I did two different tours of duty in the Back Bay. Back in the bad old days it was a ton of fun but not quite as hoity toity. It was not uncommon at all to see local sports stars hanging out in the bars along Newbury, they weren't as remote back then. And they could do some drinking. Dennis Eckersley and Derek Sanderson could party.
I was living there for the second time up until a couple years ago and it definitely had gone up scale. Jonathan Papelbon was an in-season neighbor and Tom frigging Brady lived down the block but neither was the hang out type. Too busy managing their investments.

You want sick there was a guy executed in Wash State who kidnapped, raped, torture, murdered a young boy. He documented it all in photos which he put in one of those small photo albums with descriptions of what he was doing to the kid.

It's a flawed poll, +10 Trump with a tiny sample size. On the other hand it's an open primary. I expect Cruz to win but don't think Trump pulling it out by a point or two is out of the realm of possibility.

Hillary continues to lose ground against Bernie, who should win WI and then make NY at least close. There is no enthusiasm for Hillary. If denied, Bernie's supporters are more likely to stay home in November than Trump's, if he's also denied. Hillary's negatives can be driven up more in the general, which will further depress her turnout.
The forward polls for the general probably rely on turnout assumptions that will prove way wrong. I say probably because I haven't seen the detail.

This is my demographic, and you're exactly right. Technology keeps advancing. I was shocked the first time I heard of ground penetrating equipment. Then there is simply taking aerial photos that will show you quite a bit. I do know that on time team when they show the ground penetrating photos, its mostly gobbly gook to me. Everything looks like an archaeological find, but sadly not.
