4 Good Morning Morons. Today is Monday, April 04, 2016. On this day in 1818 Congress adopted the flag of the United States as it exists now with 13 red and white stripes and one star for each state (then 20).

78 Four of Hillary Clinton's closest aides appear to have adopted an unusual legal strategy, hiring the same ex-Justice Department attorney to represent them in the FBI's investigation of Clinton's private email server.

Beth Wilkinson, a well-connected former assistant U.S. attorney best known for prosecuting Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh [and being married to NBC's David Gregory], is listed as representing three of Clinton's top State Department staffers, according to a congressional letter obtained by POLITICO and dated Feb. 10. A fourth Clinton aide, Philippe Reines, is also represented by Wilkinson, according to sources familiar with their representation.

The united front suggests they plan to tell investigators the same story -- although legal experts say the joint strategy presents its own risks, should the interests of the four aides begin to diverge as the probe moves ahead.

Years ago, two women in out college fellowship would periodically ask to borrow my car. They never got the hint that it would be nice to put some gas in it once in a while. So one day I left the car with the gas gauge a half needle above "E" to force a little courtesy.

They got about ten miles from campus when the gas ran out. After they had to spend their day walking several miles to get gas they got the message and the problem was solved.

Even worse, as far as the far left (and that's pretty much all that's left) Dem party and its followers are concerned, a baby coming down the birth canal has no rights either, if the mother doesn't want it. See: Obama, B. saying abortion-gone-awry babies born alive should be left to die in a closet. It's nothing short of evil.

87 Now I have no dog in this "abortion" hunt, which has so divided the nation but the third trimester??? Come on, nobody except loony women's groups on the far left favors abortions when the child is about to be born. A reasonable restriction is how about not at all unless somebody is about to die.
_____________________________

Even that is not a reasonable restriction, because there isn't any medical circumstance in which it is necessary to kill a late-term fetus in order to save the mother's life. Late-term abortions are typically done by inducing labor and then murdering the baby as it exits the birth canal. There is simply no medical reason to kill the baby at that point. It is done only because the mother doesn't want the baby. If for some reason the late-term baby needed to be removed from the mother's body by c-section (if, for example, the mother had pelvic injuries), again there is no medical need to kill the baby during the c-section.

When late-term abortions are done, usually the abortionist says it is necessary for the mother's "mental health." What that means is that the woman didn't want the baby, not that there was any legitimate medical reason to kill the baby. That's why anti-abortion types always object to the insertion of any type of "mental health" exception in laws restricting abortion. They know (from long experience) that this exception will be used to gut the law, because the abortion industry always uses the "mental health" exceptions to justify any and all abortions, at any point in the pregnancy, up to and including the 9th month.

My position is rape, as in real rape-rape and not phony mattress girl/Duke Lacrosse rape, deserves the morning after pill or some sort of procedure as soon after the incident as possible.

Essentially rape, incest, life of the mother. Anything else, especially when the pregnancy is far enough along and I am against it.

And there was a time when I was completely pro-abortion when I was much younger and less informed.

The funny part was that Hillary got spanked by the abortion industry for accidentally referring to the baby as an unborn "person." They castigated her for that, saying that the fetus should never be referred to as a person or a baby or as human.

The abortion industry has to keep up the pretense that the baby in the womb is just a "mass of cells" -- like a tumor, or some sort of parasite (which is how they really see it, BTW). If they admit that it is a human baby, that raises all sorts of uncomfortable questions about why they are killing these defenseless human babies in such large numbers.

The left is always trying to control the language we use. They did the same thing with the term "illegal alien." Its use has now essentially been outlawed (the Library of Congress officially removed it last week). When you control the language, you control perceptions, and you control the debate. And when you do that, you win the debate. That's why the abortionists got so angry at Hillary for slipping up and referring to the unborn baby as a "person." They can't have people thinking babies in the womb are "people" because "people" have rights. To be successful in their quest for unlimited abortion rights, they have to convince people that babies in the womb -- at any stage of development -- are not human, not babies, not people. Instead, they're just blobs of tissue that can be cut out, killed, and disposed of as medical waste just like any other unwanted tumor or growth.

127 I've been away all weekend, so it's time to catch up.

When will republican candidates learn that the first thing they should do when running for office is to pay jwest a 5 million dollar retainer? Trump fell into the abortion trap and didn't have me around to get him out.

OK, Donald... This one's for free. It's a little late, but if I had been on speed dial after you made the gaff with Chris Matthews, here's what I would have told you to say:

"The Mathews interview just goes to show how differently we think about things. Of course I want the woman getting an abortion punished, along with the doctor and receptionist and the nurse and guy renting them the building.

When Chris asked that question, he apparently was thinking about it as a democrat, who view abortion as the quick, easy procedure it is in the first trimester. When I think of abortion, I think of Kermit Gosnell murdering babies that were born alive for money.

First trimester abortions are settled law and although there is a portion of the republican party who believe life begins at conception, we all realize that there is a lot of work to bring the societal changes necessary to revisit that decision.

However, we republicans will never, for a minute, accept the barbaric practice of late term abortion that Hillary Clinton defends and promotes. Killing innocent, fully developed babies for the convenience of the mother is something that I feel needs to be punished just as any other murder.

Of course, most of the public hasn't heard of the atrocities committed in the name of "unfettered" rights to an abortion, because the news media conspired to cover up the details, but I will not be silenced on this subject.

Hillary Clinton should be ashamed to support this form of senseless killing and the news media should guilty of hiding this problem from the public."

**************

Take what is always the democrat's abortion fear button issue away by highlighting late term abortions and their support of it. Turn the tables. Whenever a reporter brings up abortion, ask them what coverage they gave the Gosnell story.

Very quickly, there will be no more talk of abortion.

As Rumsfeld said, you fight a war with the army you've got. And our army - with very few exceptions - does not even fight, but starts off accepting the premises and allowing the Left to frame the debate. So it's more of a weak, groveling apology fest than a fight. And the root cause of that is that the GOP does not stand for anything, has no convictions, and at best is indifferent to the American people, Americanism and small "r" republicanism and the free market. They're just in it for all the money, a piece of the power pie and invites to the good parties.

Beyond that, his speculations on how the NE states vote is based on polling...which has often shown Trump ahead, even when he went on to lose the vote significantly (or later lost the delegates due to incompetence).
