curb widespread abuse.

21 An earlier bill established the Secure Choice Retirement Savings
Investment Board, which on Monday recommended automatic enrollment with
an opt-out option, rather than requiring interested workers to opt in.
That suggestion will be incorporated into a new version of the
legislation...

But there are still some major hurdles to clear, such as
determining what employers' role will be, especially whether they will
be responsible for investment losses. And there's also the question of
where workers' plans will be invested.

-- Workers automatically enrolled
-- CA decides who manages the investments
-- Employers, who have nothing to do with this 401K, held responsible for losses

Just brilliant.

25 Every single drug-addiction problem in history has had a strong element of government encouragement at its source. Never mind the Opium Wars; street opiates were "subsidized," by doping up wounded combat veterans to stop their moaning, and then cutting off their supply when governments found them inconvenient. And every new addictive drug was the supposedly non-addictive miracle cure for the one that preceded it. Follow the money and influence: this new crusade has some new bugaboo behind it.

I may have missed it: was there a follow-up to the Garbage Disposal adventure?

No changes in polling today.

Trump continues to lose to the worst candidate in modern history by 11.2%.

The House is still projected to flip 12 seats to the Dems, with Ryan remaining speaker.

That was always the smart move anyway.

Knock off that chump or drive him down to low (1-3%) single digits, and then

when it's a two man race go hard after Trump from the right.

That way you can force him to take a stand on issues and not have to resort to incredibly lame "issues" like Fields.

Buuuuuut, there's been plenty of stupid and missed opportunities to go around this election cycle.

No kidding. When we lived in Arkansas, I did not have an Arkansas driver's license. I just kept my Texas license with my valid military dependent ID. The state passed a law that no one without a valid AR ID or military ID could buy any product with pseudoephedrine in it. Well, when they wrote valid military ID, they wrote it so it meant active duty personnel only. I was SOL. Couldn't buy decongestants. It's ridiculous.

81 I'm pretty sure that most Blue Reps are simply Democrats who did not want to serve their time in the machine and wait in line.

So, they went Republican.

--

I'm starting to think its worse than that. Ponder, if you will, a continuation of the "march through the institutions" action plan. What a great way to infiltrate the other side and keep pushing ever leftward. It wouldn't be hard to do. Campaign conservatively. Get elected. Vote the opposite. Once you're entrenched, your chances of getting voted out get less and less as the years go by as your name recognition and campaign warchest grows. (See: Graham, Lindsay...among countless others)

Heard a reporter being interviewed on radio. She does foia requests on diplomats and their families for violent crimes and duis. They slip out of the country and re enter and re offend. Now the state dept will only give her names and not countries or locations where offense happened to protect the criminal diplomats and their scummy kids.

84 If one reads the news it's easy peasy to want to support a protest candidate, like Trump. The PC Groupthink drives me absolutely insane, as does the open border bullshit. As crazy as Trump seems to be, he is willing to speak up on issues that really matter and he has no interest in "good government" and "we must work together" bullshit. Unfortunately, when one turns to Trump specifically and actually thinks about pulling the lever, it becomes a bridge too far.

I wish we had a candidate who agreed with Trump on issues, is just as uncompromising on policy, but has more depth and doesn't punch down or otherwise dig Manhattan sized holes for himself.

I'm sure that are a lot of wiring videos. Just go down to the hardware store and get a few of twist-on wiring connectors and wire white to white, black to black, and bare to bare. (The ground is usually bare, the white is usually neutral)

95 What I learned from the townhalls last night.

1 - Ted Cruz is from Florida, where Ft. Hood is located (just kidding, it was a silly flubbed line)

2 - The Hairy Hemorrhoid referred to the flubbed line over and over and over again, as if it was a policy mistake, because he had nothing else to contribute to the conversation.

3 - Cruz would thank the audience member after every question. Trump would occasionally throw out a "thanks" and proceed to turn the question into a treatise about how great he is.

4 - Kasich is a condescending douche canoe, who became visibly angry when challenged on his Medicare expansion. "Look, young lady..." "Look, young man, I don't know if you're a leader in your family..."

5 - I wanted to put my fist through the TV the moment Trump's face came on.

6 - Kasich is a very unpleasant human being, who cannot correctly state the House Committee he sat on. Ever.

7 - Trump says "You don't have Germany talking about Ukraine." -- except for that little fact that Germany is leading the Normandy talks with Russia and Ukraine along with France - talks in which we are hardly involved.

8 - Trump is unfit to be a tourist at the White House, let alone President.

101 Thanks for the update bluebell. We're suddenly more concerned with your arm still being attached than Michelle Fields'. j/k. Heh. Remember that ad with the switch?

Unless that's a four-wire 220 circuit, hard-wiring is not some huge deal. You are right, make doubly sure the circuit is off. There should be plenty of you-tube instruction videos. I often find knocking out a knock-out, on an already mounted box, "mildly frustrating," but mostly it's a matter of putting the connectors together carefully and tucking the wires back in the box neatly. English major stuff.

When using wire-nut connectors, I like to go over them with electrical tape after test-pulling the join, making a first pass up the "crotch" between the wires and then wrapping the whole connector to the wires going into it. That protects against moisture and oxidation, adds a little mechanical strength in case the cable ever gets yanked on unintentionally, and ensures that a little teensy 1/16" of stripped wire not covered by the twist-on connector can't get randomly touched by an errant strand of some other wire in there. That's because as you tighten the cable clamp on the box, and re-tuck whatever else goes in front of your new junction, those wires can end up in a slightly different spot than where you intended.

They know their own pension funds have been poorly mismanaged and they want access to other peoples' 401K loot. Same goes for bureaucrats who want a way to tap other peoples' money because they believe they should be able to grab citizens' money simply because it's there and they want it. Quick tip: I have used short sections of 2"x4" to build up a support frame beneath a heavy object, like a garbage disposal, that places it very close to its desired position. If you use shims, you can even get it high enough that the bolts are going through the mounting holes and threading on the nuts is easy. A few turns with the wrench to make sure it is really attached, then take away the support fame and you have "plenty" of space to finalize the job.

Think about that: Thous shalt not go unto the land where someone dares to have a differing opinion. Ye must travel through distant lands, over hill AND dale.....through areas that aslo ain't keen on guys using women's bathrooms.

Study after study after study has shown that if you take any pain med including hydrocodone and opioids -

for pain

then when the pain is over, people quit taking the drug and show no effects of addiction.

Now, if you had a previous issue with drugs or alcohol or are taking opioids for shit and giggles then yeah, sure, addiction.

But, that's a different issue.

An orthopedist I went to recently went on a rant about how hard they are making it to prescribe pain medication for his patients in need.

I have a multi-decade history of chronic pain and I can vouch for the changes in trying to get effect pain medication. My wife had it ten times easier to get pain medication after a surgery than I had keeping the medication that works (occasionally) for me. To me, it seems like this goes beyond "recent studies". 225 My skeptical spouse keeps asking me why bother investigating Hilldogger, since Loretta Lynch will obviously not indict her. I always point out that the FBI can start madly leaking their recommendations and evidence, and that will be just as good. She disagrees, saying the press won't report any of it at all.

She's probably right about that. How can the FBI get attention from the propaganda press?

Here is one way: The FBI can arrest Hillary.

The agency doesn't need permission from Lynch to do that (does it?), and even if the charges are later dropped it puts Lynch on defense to explain her actions, and the Press (as corrupt as they are) cannot possibly ignore a story as big as Hillary getting perp-walked.

1. She will not be indicted.
2. She will win the election.
3. Should she, by some miracle, lose or even drop out, neither a Cruz nor a Trump administration will prosecute her, spouting bromides about "healing the country" and not "engaging in partisan witch hunts."
4. Not a single FBI agent will resign over this.
5. The rule of law has been dead for years. At least, for your rulers. You, you fucking serf, better damned well do what they tell you, because Sushi and Malaria need their $20K dresses.
6. Considering all that, in the words of the immortal William Marcy Tweed, "what are you going to do about it?"
7. You (and by extension, me and everyone else) will do nothing.
8. So why not elect Trump? We're a fucking Paraguay in all but the roving death squads anyway.

I had three choices, work it hot, call an electrician to work it hot, or call the utility to come out and kill the incoming power while I replaced it. That would have taken two or more weeks. The electrician probably would have taken just as long. Replacing a breaker in a breaker panel is not a complicated job, I just had to work it hot. That just means you have to be careful.

319 Some of the real-life players in the Anita Hill saga claim that the cable network is anti-Republican in the way the film portrays events.

In 1991, Anita Hill riveted the nation with televised accusations of unseemly behavior at the hands of Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas. She alleged her former boss engaged her in unwanted discussions about pubic hair on Coke cans and porn movies starring Long Dong Silver. Thomas, nominated by Republican President George H.W. Bush, was confirmed largely along party lines.

HBO now hopes to attract a similarly raptured audience with its retelling of that historical moment in a movie called Confirmation, produced by Michael London and Susannah Grant, that airs on April 16. The film stars Kerry Washington as Hill and Wendell Pierce as Thomas. But behind the scenes, a drama is playing out now that might be as politically partisan as the hearings were themselves. Some involved in the hearings are complaining that HBO has manufactured a hit job against Republicans while the network maintains it is telling an important, non-partisan story about an event that forever changed the definition of sexual harassment.

Honestly, smoking is one of the fastest methods of activation. The only method that is faster, I believe, is snorting.

Of course. smoking pot is far worse for you than smoking tobacco ... but the "medical community" is happy to prescribe joints to smoke down and happy to see cigarette smokers arrested and tortured, for their own good, of course.

380 John Hallenbeck -

It is indeed. You are more concerned with patients parting with their meds to a recreational black market, ( which I could give a rats ass about) blocking legitimate patients from dependence, as if that is always necessarily good for the patient. Who cares if some loadie commits suicide or turns his liver to shoe leather? They simply don't count. People have a right to make bad choices that ruin their lives. They will continue to do that if they have to go heroin shopping. Other people who a dependent but functional are not a concern, either.

Obama and a coterie of interested parties ("rehab" clinics, marijuana evangelists,) are very interested in creating a market for their services.

Posted by: sarahw at March 30, 2016 12:13 PM (3fTXW)

381 DATE CHECK: Hydrocodone article is two years old. This law was already passed and enacted. You are currently required to get a triplicate script (which not all doctors are legally allowed to write) for a thirty day supply (not three months like the article says). Legally doctors can give you three one-month supplies (three paper scripts) at one time but most doctors are refusing to do this (because of you lose one they can not write you another one) so now most people are having to go to their doctor's office every month. It's insanity and all it has punished is those with chronic pain who follow the rules.
