Sanders Sweeps Washington State, Alaska, and Hawaii Caucuses, With 75+% of Vote

Huge, luxurious margins.

Still, Clinton still maintains a wide advantage in delegates, winning 1,243 to Sanders' 975 based on primary and caucuses to date.

Her lead is even bigger when including super-delegates, or party officials who can back any candidate they wish. Clinton has 1,712 to Sanders' 1,004, with 2,383 needed to win.

And Sanders has two structural problems:

1. He does well in caucus states, and there's only two caucus states yet to vote.

2. He still does very poorly with blacks, who are Hillary's most (only?) enthusiastic supporters.

I'll let you ponder why it is that a candidate who does very well with whites and not well with blacks -- as Hillary herself did in the second half of the race of 2008 -- isn't necessarily racist, while many candidates with similar supporter profiles are, per the media's telling, very, very racist indeed.

Too many paychecks rely on the status quo. Too manY people are counting on the crony governmental system for their standard of living, their status, their perqs, and their pensions.

Without the establishment, they're third rate used car salesmen, city council members, and ambulance chasing lawyers in some podunk city trying to scrape up enough money for a new car or a new kitchen for the Missus.

They will fight tooth and claw to keep their status, their money, and their cushy establishment jobs. You think it's been vicious? Wait until Cruz or Trump win. You will see leaks, obstructionism, outright insubordination used to destroy their administration.

Therefore, voting for the habitual liar makes perfect sense. Reality can be unsettling. Why beunsettled?

She alledgedly had more delegates won from the primaries, but that the party elders figured out that it would have been suicide to take the nomination from the black dude that the media said was leading. That was why there wasn't the long drawn out roll call of states, they just dispensed with it and did a nomination by proclamation. IIRC.

95 The feeling I get from leftists on social media is that they really, intensely dislike Hillary, but she's still better than [insert name of Republican here] no matter who it is.

But that dislike might have a pretty depressing effect on turnout for the general. I know its been low for the primaries but that's kind of meaningless, everyone knows its a sham.

Purely anecdotal but my firm shares space with a contractor-run public sector call center that probably employs ~ 300+ black people in any given month. Nothing but a couple of cars with faded O stickers (most seem to have been removed) and not one Hillary or Bernie sticker to be found anywhere.

179 I've got 4 kids in that 18-30 yr old bracket that loooooves them some Bernie. Most of their friends fall in that camp. From what I can gather, for many of them it doesn't really have all that much to do with his actual policies.

They see Hillary (correctly) as a grasping corruptocrat, an ally of Wall Street and Big Money, a 'machine' politician. The guys see her (correctly) as a feminazi scold. She's not granny to them; she's a middle-aged, preachy bitch, the mother-in-law from hell.

Sanders, OTOH, is a charming, eccentric grampa. He's a cranky 'outsider.' This makes him cool. Since the main thing they have been taught about Communism is that being overly anti-Communist is bad, things like his honeymoon in the USSR strike them as fanciful, kind of like honeymooning in Mali or Newark.

181 Rd, I do not want to find out. I don't want to risk finding out.

Besides, that dipshit is solely an economic candidate. He knows nothing about foreign policy or anything else. He just wants to address the economy. I don't think he or his supporters will stop at anything to lay the foundation for handing out all of the stolen goods.

I want to terminate this attempted robbery now, not a year from now. And certainly not in Congress.

182 171 I hope that the super-delegates all get behind Sanders, the way they abandoned Hillary in 2008.

It could happen.

*******

Clinton has miles of dirt on them. How else did she pre-clear the democratic primary? That looks unnatural as hell.

The only one she couldn't get dirt on was the granola eater who thinks limiting people's choices of deodorant is the key to economic success.

I don't think they do particularly. The left wing secular Jews like democrats, and she happens to be one of those. And the liberal left wing Jewish vimen like she is a vimen.

But as for hillary as hillary, I don't think there is any overt love
Posted by: Nevergiveup at March 28, 2016 03:46 PM (mw8Dm)

I think she is getting somewhere around 75% of the Jewish vote in the primaries. Which is more strange since her opponent is Jewish. Though that can also signal something positive that there isn't an identity vote.

Funny how nobody cares about either of those issues with Hillary. It's almost enough to make a man cynical.

200 Democrats have two modes of criticism for current Republican candidates. They are either stupid or scary. Cruz is obviously not stupid so he must be scary.

Whether stupid or scary, when Republicans are no longer running for office or have died, Democrats then compare them to the current Republicans and complain that the old guys they used to compare to Hitler or Satan were true statesmen, unlike the current bunch of Republicans who are just like Hitler or Satan.

Posted by: obnoxious ahole at March 28, 2016 04:11 PM (MpvuV)

201 Generally speaking Jews have a religious devotion to a principle of healing the world, or leaving the world a better place than you found it.

Democrats *SAY* they want to do this, overtly, and claim others want to harm the world.

Based on shallow, unexamined claims, a lot of Jews support the "help the poor" party.

If you never look at the details, you never know it doesn't work, and the fact that urban centers run by democrats are still poor and crime-ridden is just an unconnected factoid.

I know a number of non-horde conservative Jews, and generally they take their responsibility to improve the world *personally* and don't farm it out to someone else who may be taking the money and running.

A lot of modern Jews treat the words "tikkun olam" (world repair) as if they mean "social justice."

There are other reasons, but this is a big one.

To the Hollyweird airheads, also add in the northeastern hedge fund honchos, and the teenage technoligarchs in Silly Valley. All of them exemplars of today's arrogant private-jet proletariat.

After all, "they didn't build that", so why should they personally prosper?

Close every loophole in both the personal and corporate tax codes. Jack the upper bracket income taxes back up to where they take home a nickel in the dollar if they're lucky. Make a list of what they claim to want, and give it to them good and hard, without lube.

203 @193- Sanders ain't going after just the CEOs. When I said he'd take an additional $15K from my family per year, that's from my wife and I who make a combined $120,000.

I'm slowly losing my sympathy with the super-rich too, but this dude's gonna hurt us no matter where we are on the income spectrum.

212 We had better hope Bern pulls it off. Sure he's a socialist hippie throwback, but he's not Hillary.

Unless the republicans pull a rabbit or a Marine general out of a hat it appears that they will be beaten by either one of the Dems.

Posted by: Tattaglia in Miami at March 28, 2016 05:38 PM (zmZ2x)

213 Hillary/the DNC isn't rigging anything, beyond whatever dirty tricks got played to stop Warren and Biden from running. National polling has shown a huge preference for Hillary among Democrat primary voters. He's gained as his name recognition increased, but he's still around 8 points down. Blacks and Hispanics just don't like him. Caucuses helped him cover that, because his (super white) followers are fanatics, but those are basically done now. Bernie's done, has been for a long time, and Hillary won't even need the super delegates.

The Bern Feelers live deep in upper class, college educated white bubbles. They live in straight up denial about the polls, because 'everyone they know' is voting Bernie.

That's fortunate for us, because goddamn Kasich is probably the only remaining R candidate that would have a decent chance against Bernie in the general.
