Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | "#TheThing" And Marco Rubio and His Unhinged SupportersReconsidering: Eh, while I still think that all of these people are nasty, I'm no stranger to personally wishing an alleged scandal would drop -- I remember being on tenterhooks about the latest vaporscandal claimed to be about to drop about Clinton during the nineties, for example. A lot of what you're going to read below is me being shocked, shocked that there are some politics in politics, and that some political people are employed in the business of spreading derogatory rumors and gossip. I also rewrote to narrow the focus of who it was, exactly, I was venting at. It's not all Trump supporters nor all Rubio supporters. But there is a certain sort of animal, the Political Beast, that just isn't my cup of tea anymore. Maybe I've just gotten older, and as I realize I have fewer minutes left in my life, I'm less willing to spend them on nasty shit. At some point, I guess, one has to ask oneself: Exactly how important is this particular candidacy to me, and how much of my personal honor am I prepared to -- or required to, if the candidate in question requires a lot of sacrifice of honor to defend -- bargain away on his behalf? There was a time that the conservative movement liked to flatter itself as being all about honor and even virtue. I guess we're not pretending on that score any longer. I guess maybe that's for the best -- it's better to be honest about one's lack of honor, than to dishonestly flatter oneself postulating a deep commitment to honor that doesn't exist. I should employ that rule I sometimes remind myself of -- don't post when angry. And anyway, who cares? It's just America. America was breaking anyway, and Obama broke it forever. We have to think more about starting anew than recovering something that's already gone. ...I don't like Donald Trump because I consider him now to be utterly without honor, a nasty narcissistic man of nothing but appetites and impulses and Really Bad Business Deals that he then claims are "great deals." Because he's a narcissist. But I see now that these very low, very base traits are well-represented among Marco Rubio's elite-level super-fan cultists. In fact, this Daily Beast article straight-up claims that the story has been pushed by "Marco Rubio allies" for quite some time, peddled to various outlets (like Breitbart) who all refused the garbage. A half-dozen GOP operatives and media figures tell The Daily Beast that Cruz's opponents have been pushing charges of adultery for at least six months now--and that allies of former GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio were involved in spreading the smears. For months and months, anti-Cruz operatives have pitched a variety of #CruzSexScandal stories to a host of prominent national publications, according to Republican operatives and media figures. The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Politico, and ABC News--reporters at all those outlets heard some version of the Cruz-is-cheating story. None of them decided to run with rumors. Those publications' representatives all declined to provide on-the-record comments when The Daily Beast reached out for this article. Breitbart News, the notoriously Trump-friendly conservative outlet, was also pitched the story of Cruz’s extramarital affairs, according to a source close to the publication. That source said an operative allied with Marco Rubio--but not associated with his official campaign--showed the publication a compilation video of Cruz and a woman other than his wife coming out of the Capitol Grille restaurant and a hotel on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But the outlet opted not to report on the video, which demonstrated no direct evidence of an affair. "We got it from a Rubio ally," said the source. "It was too thin, so [Breitbart's Washington political editor Matt Boyle] decided not to run it. There was no way to verify the claims." A Rubio spokesman wasn’t immediately available for comment. After Marco Rubio dropped out, I tried to avoid baiting his cultists. They were all very down (and continue to be very down -- some are taking some kind of delight in today's story). But I'll tell you right now: I have never felt better to see the suffering of others than right now. I'm glad your little sketchy amnesty bitch lost the race. He deserved to lose, and you-all deserve to cry your little Marco-lovin' eyes out over it. Maybe Mario can drink your tears -- because, I'm given to understand, he really loves water. For months I said Rubio people were silly. But some of them are more than silly. They're nasty. They are, as a writer at the Wall Street Journal once said of another person's supporters, bitter people whose hearts have become envenomed. It was never plausible that your pro-amnesty (still!) candidate could win the primary, and if you were too dumb to get that, you should work on your own understanding of the Republican primary electorate, instead of looking for scapegoats upon whom to blame this entirely-predictable outcome. Oh, and if you're upset to discover that you're not smart enough to sell your pro-amnesty candidate as anti-amnesty to dumb people, sorry that you're just realizing you're not that smart, and other people aren't that dumb. Meanwhile, the Trump's own Garbage People surrogates, operatives, and shills are pushing this as hard as they can, too. For Those Who.. are either this dumb or like pretending to be really dumb, no, this doesn't mean that Trump's people didn't also push the story to the virtual Trump campaign extension National Enquirer. The only operative quoted in the National Enquirer piece is, oddly enough, Roger Stone, who was either fired by Trump or fake fired by Trump, because he's still acting like a paid Trump surrogate and operative. The article also quoted Roger Stone, a former Trump adviser who is still close to the real-estate mogul. "These stories have been swirling about Cruz for some time," Stone said in the National Enquirer. "I believe where there is smoke there is fire. I have to believe this will hurt him with his evangelical Christian supporters."So spare me the "Obviously Trump could not have possibly had anything to do with this" stupidity. It certainly seems possible a Trump person pitched this to Trump's good friend David Pecker, editor of the National Enquirer -- I'm pretty sure Roger Stone could supply the phone number, if they lost it. It's getting hard to tell if people are really this stupid or just pretending to be this stupid to spam comments with stupid sloganeering, and it's getting tedious to have to keep trying to tell the difference. Oh One Last Thing: I don't even want to read about Mario Romo's "optimistic, positive, hopeful view of America" ever afuckingain. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Did I say any of that? Dude, according to the story, Mario had ALREADY pushed it. He pushed it long ago. Not a secret. Cruz peeps knew about it, prepared for damage control in advance, etc. This shit was already floating around waiting for someone like NE to pick it up and fling. The point though is Rubio is the source of this, not Trump. And yes, I do think Rubio has a reason to push it out now. Why hadn't Rubio endorsed? The powers that be are pushing for an open convention, that's a conspiracy fact. Look at the polls man. Cruz can maybe win WI, but that's about it. In a month Trump is dominating north east contests. Kasich looks like he could upset places like PA though. Cruz can't, he's in the way there. So in the interest of open convention, if they can kill off Cruz, this helps Kasich in the states Trump is dominating. Not hard math. I believe what we have here is a failure to comprehend that meta-beings are cleaning house. The rot in the Democrat Party has been obvious since Kennedy, actually since Wilson. But the Republican rot has not been as evident, Nixon notwithstanding.
Well one thing is clear: the rot inside Washington is bi-partisan and at Olympian levels. The meta-beings are sick of it and are opening the doors. Trump has been a useful tool to the meta-beings because he kicked in the rotten door. Cockroaches are scrambling. Just recalling here that Roger Stone had to resign from the Dole '96 campaign, after someone pointed out that he and his wife had personal ads running in swingers' circulars, seeking swap partners and whatnot.
Stone at the time denounced these allegations as vicious lies intended to smear the nominee by association. Then a few years down the line, he grinned and fessed up that it had been true from the get-go. Posted by: torquewrench at March 25, 2016 04:20 PM (noWW6) 95

The only operative quoted in the National Enquirer piece is, oddly enough, Roger Stone, who was either fired by Trump or fake fired by Trump, because he's still acting like a paid Trump surrogate and operative.
That was pretty much my take on things when Stone was dismissed. Trump was claiming he fired Stone, and Stone was claiming he left voluntarily. Posted by: jwb7605 at March 25, 2016 04:21 PM (DofIg) 105

And then I took a hard look at myself, and decided that I would never vote for someone again that wasn't basically a decent human being.
I got by with that marker from then until this election, when it came down to Trump and Cruz. Cruz got the nod. If it is Trump in November, then Trump it is, as opposed to Hillary Clinton. I don't get the anger.
If true, and you seem to suspect it is, this is utterly relevant to Cruz's electability in the general election. Pro Hillary media will use without hesitation and it destroys Cruz's campaign immediately, due to preacher Ted character he has built up. Preacher Ted could never have been president with the knowledge of 5 affairs floating around among the GOP pundit class. The truth would come out sooner or later. The Rubio people seem to have shopped it around, but they couldn't get anyone to run with it and save Rubio. So, in a spirit of #NEVERTRUMP, they sat on it. It's kind of irresponsible if you want the GOP to win, but if you're a pure #neverTrump supporter it's kind of admirable that they let their boy go down in order to preserve Cruz's long shot to stop Trump. You should thank them I guess. You should be mad at Cruz for running with this hanging over his head and creating a situation where the last remaining non-Trump candidate is fatally flawed. In hindsight, Cruz might actually have been the worst candidate all along, because Trump has likely known about this weakness all along, through Pierson. Yes, I believe Rubio has an incentive to push this "The Thing" story even now. The only reason the GOP is backing Cruz now is because Jeb and Rubio are out. Cruz is blaming Trump for the story, and the media supports and is giving coverage to that side. That can hurt Trump. I believe that Cruz is acting/being used as a spoiler against the Donald. I also am of the opinion that whether this story is true or not it will hurt Cruz from here on out.
With both Trump and Cruz unable to reach 1237 the GOP then brings Rubio in at the Convention. Posted by: Martell at March 25, 2016 04:32 PM (Uv6nR) 175

I hate to bring it up at all and in fact I think the anonymous writer should reveal him/herself and go to Ace like a man/woman and apologize for saying that Ace got caught doing something not quite natural to some sort of weasel. Also the story about the home brew Valu Rite and the full body laser hair treatment is probably false. Anyone can do this all day in our new age of multi media outlets and consolidated big media empires. It is bad enough that the WH has "media coordinating" conference calls with the networks that the LIVs don't understand. Now some operative can get some outlet to say that they heard from a friend that Heidi Cruz and Ted ate one of their babies during a secret black mass in East Texas. Not that people can't survive this but he's sold himself as that. (It could be, but we don't know.) Now we have some people who understandably don't like Trump hoping that there will be a brokered convention. Well you're a fucking hypocrite then if you've ever railed on the establishment crowning the candidates. Apparently it's o.k. when you don't like the guy, then you're all for them taking out your enemy. Bloody hypocrites. The Rubio fans were like Carson fans: they weren't as smart as they thought they were, and they thought they had a clever idea of the way things worked, and they were wrong. The Republican Obama thing was never going to work because Republicans are not Democrats and ESPECIALLY because the big media will not carry a Republican Obama on a litter, but instead will descend on him with sticks and rocks. Also, Ted Cruz is kind of a dick. That's why I'm voting for him. But I don't hold it too much against the GOPe for getting upset at getting slapped in the face by said dick. I hold many other things against them instead. Posted by: Funkotron at March 25, 2016 04:45 PM (7xwUk) 254

Cui bono?
Rubio & Co turned over their anti-Cruz investigative files to the Enquirer weeks ago, as they did with other publishers. If you're a political insider you'd have known about "rumors swirling around Cruz." But these files are thin and wouldn't prove adultery in old school divorce court. Only the Enquirer would run with it and dressed it up with a Roger Stone quote. A quote to the effect that there are "rumors swirling around Cruz." Other than Trump knowing Stone and the Enquirer publisher, there's no proof that Trump was behind this. Recall that the Melania snap sent to Mormons earlier this week came from an ex-Rubio staffer. Worth noting that the actual snap sent is not the one we've been seeing, but instead included black outs that it made it look like Melania was showing nipples, full tit and bush. But there's no proof that Cruz was behind this. Rubio has been a Romney Rent Boy for several weeks now as Romney bankrolled Rubio into the Florida primary including by having PACs spend $20 million in anti-Trump ads. Cui bono? Romney. Christ was crucified for our sins, buried, and rose again for our justification before God. The Apostle Paul tended to emphasize the cross in his writings, but 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 3-4 is his condensation of the saving gospel he preached, in which both are included as the content of saving faith (that which one must know and believe to be saved). So believe that and be saved.
Further, he did say that if any believer was misled into denying the resurrection, then logically their faith is vain, meaning useless. For if Christ is not risen, all who trust in Him are yet dead in their sin and abide under the coming wrath of God. There has to be an original source. It could be NE. They broke the Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson and John Edwards stories. So they do have the resources to dig this shit up. Anonymous? Could be. We keep getting into the Cruz-Trump food fight without considering that these kinds of stories take more than a Roger Stone conspiracy theory. These stories take actual hard work to dig up (if true). Hillary who would of course love to either face Trump or face an brokered convention GOP back room deal nominee with a pissed off base. Or the GOP establishment themselves who would not want any risk of a Cruz presidency since he might shrink government and they fear that far more than Hillary in the WH or losing their majorities.
My oft repeated theory: when the GOPe are the minority party and not in the WH they have a lot of cover for joining in with growing the federal behemoth; so *I* don't believe for a second that they fear losing majority party status. Posted by: Palerider at March 25, 2016 04:55 PM (dkExz) 326

Posted by: Seems legit at March 25, 2016 04:45 PM (U+nHb) All snark aside, I don't know what is true and what isn't. Here's what I am certain of (for myself, YMMV). Hillary should be in a prison cell. So should Trump. Neither of them should be within 100 miles of the Oval Office, for the ridiculously simple reason is that both have explicitly stated that they have absolutely no intention to abide by the Presidential Oath of Office. Whether you like their policies or not, absolutely none of what they propose fits within "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." So, where does that leave us? The same place it has for the past several decades- with whomever the free shit army elects. It doesn't matter who I like or who you like or who fucked who. Elections are not about faithfully fulfilling and office anymore. They are about railing up stupid, lazy, worthless pieces of shit to drag themselves off their couch and set down their mobile phone long enough to vote for someone that they know nothing about so they can Tweet about it 6 seconds later and get their virtually participation trophy from their equally idiotic friends. Possibly lost in the Trump wars is this basic bit of information:
Ted Cruz has almost no GOP allies. Many more enemies than friends. That's not an accident. That's essentially his brand. Insofar as his relationship with the party, he wanted it that way. It's in keeping with the laws of human and political nature for the knives to come out for him at the point when it would inflict the most damage - which is Now, when he needs to close on Trump as fast as possible. There's a lot of noise about who pushed this and who didn't, but a parallel point is that there are a lot of people, none of them Team Blue, who aren't unhappy that this is out there. Are they all sociopaths? (Yes, cue the Hillary conspiracies, ok.) Cruz had plenty of chances to make more friends and allies along the way. Trump is is own dumpster fire, a total sicko, and I've made my feelings clear on that. If he pushed this, would anyone be surprised? I feel the country would be better off with Cruz as the GOP nominee, rather than Trump. There, I said it. But, you know, Cruz has been kind of a dick for a while now. He's cheap-shotted more than his share. That's not new news. And he's a pol. A smart one. Dog bites man. No one "deserves" Trump's disgusting behavior. And maybe it was Rubio's people. Who knows? I'm just saying, is anyone really shocked that *somebody* took a really rough shot at Cruz, knowing who he is and how he got here, before he becomes The Only Guy Other Than Trump Who Can Be Nominated? Honestly Ace, this Rubio obsession is a little bit, well... sociopathic.
Do you really believe what you are writing?? It doesn't make a bit of sense to me. I've always thought Rubio a good candidate, a good conservative, would have made a fine President. I liked his optimistic, positive, hopeful view of America. I supported him in my primary. But now he is gone and you know what? I'm not really very down at all. Why? Because there is another really good conservative, who I am more than happy (much more than happy) to support in the election, if he can get past Trump. This is the conservative cause Ace. It is not about Rubio, or Cruz, or any individual. I thought Rubio had a good chance of advancing that cause, but he didn't have what it takes, so fine, let's move on and get the best person who can help advance it. From what I read, Cruz is a bit of a pain to work with. Who cares? I don't, as I don't have to work with him. I just need him to get elected and then advance the cause. Likewise with Trump. I don't like him, but not because he is a lying, weak, feeble minded, narcissistic ass (although he is), but because he *won't advance the cause*. Again, it is not about the person. If, by some miracle, Trump is elected President and, by an even larger miracle, he works in a Constitutional manner with a conservative Congress to advance entitlement reform, and replace ObamaCare, and strengthen the US military, and reduce the scope of eminent domain, and enforce US immigration laws, and so on, then I'll happily vote for his reelection. You really seem to have lost sight of this with the Rubio mania. You quote some thinly sourced story from a Trump-affiliated outlet that an unnamed "Rubio" person was the source of the story, and then disparage all people who supported Rubio and take joy in our supposed misery. Is this really supposed to help? Help anything at all? We are supposed to be on the same side. Not to mention the rumor doesn't even make sense. From everything I have read about Cruz, he is incredibly disciplined, and extremely ambitious. He has been planning this run for President for years. And we are supposed to believe a video exists of him walking openly into a Washington hotel with his mistress for some nookie? Really??? Cruz is too smart not to understand the chances of keeping that secret in a Presidential run would be zero. This story doesn't vaguely pass the sniff test. And if I'm wrong, well, I guess it's just going to have to be a write in for Rick Perry. Because again, it is not about the person, it is about the cause. Get a grip. "The establishment" has become defined as anything distasteful to anyone at any given moment. It's become a bogeyman, a scapegoat for not getting your own way.
Just because your hero Rubio got shot down in flames is no reason to take it out on Ace, son. If you're that worked up and upset over a politician's loss maybe its time to take some time off and rethink your priorities and life. Posted by: Christopher Taylor at March 25, 2016 05:11 PM (39g3+) 403

357 Not seeing you as argumentative at all. The ascension, the empty tomb, the empty cross are all the deepest of deep waters for the believer because of the revelation given through Paul (not found in the four Gospels or early Acts) that God counts each believer of the Good News as having been co-crucified, died, buried and even now raised and seated in Christ in the heavenlies. Exactly HOW God has done this, I won't pretend to know other than to humbly assume it's just His prerogative - going back to Abram - of calling that which to us appears not, as though it is. And so...it is so. THAT, the package deal Taylor refers to, is the believer's true and only hope. And it is a hope that will not disappoint, so hang onto it.

Yeah, I don't get all the vitriol really. Since last August the 2 candidates I liked the best were Trump and Cruz. They each possessed some qualities of "the outsider" that were attractive. I wanted a double barreled middle finger salute to the Republican political machine in DC, with an added kick in the balls, then set their house on fire. They've betrayed us all for too long, the establishment is every bit as responsible for wrecking the republic as the commie scum on the left - because our side thought that "being nice" and "getting along" with commie scum was the proper and polite thing to do. And I (we) have only been just dumb hicks for them to fleece. No, your opinion doesn't matter. It never has, apparently.
So I'm disgusted lately with my candidate (Trump) going after Mrs Cruz, but also disgusted with the super PAC that pulled the Melania ad. Yes, truth and honor are gone, but didn't we say that we were headed this way, back when Bill Clinton was inserting cigars into interns and washing his pecker in the Oval office bathroom? I've been investing in a lot more bourbon lately. And watching AMC's TURN on an endless loop, just to imagine what it must've been like to live among men of truth and honor. That George Washington was really somethin'. Happy Easter everybody. Posted by: FredB at March 25, 2016 05:12 PM (mkgf1) 409

Back in 2008 the Enquirer broke the story about John Edwards expecting a two-headed love child with his "videographer" while his wife was dying of cancer. Ace - it seems to me that our entire political system is a diseased ethical environment. I suspect that some who run for office are hoping to make a difference but there is very little evidence of sustained honesty or goodness. Those that run for multi re-election are nothing more than than an evolving blob protoplasm with the malignant comfort of interdependent contradictions. I can tell you from experience that almost every Presidential candidate would be tossed from our Military Academies and the Marine Corp OCS programs. Lying, cheating, character flaws, are normally not tolerated. Not so much for the Commander in Chief however. Ironic. The reality is that anyone who gets to run for a high Federal or State office has a machine and money behind them. Our citizens are not getting the best and the brightest in elected government positions . Why ? Because it's a step down.

The Monoparty wants, above all, to maintain stasis.
Trump (assuming he's for real) = Wildcard. Loose canon. Possibly uncontrollable. Risky. Cruz = the most likely to undo stasis. The single biggest threat to stasis. Jeb = stasis maintained. Rubio = status maintained. Romney = stasis maintained. Kasich = stasis maintained. Clinton = stasis maintained, *PLUS* the excuse (an obstructionist POTUS) to do nothing for four more years while campaigning for reelection. Conclusion: They want Clinton more than anyone else. They want Cruz less than anyone else, and in fact will do whatever it takes to sink him. Posted by: doomed at March 25, 2016 05:48 PM (bGLSw) 559

If, on the other hand, the rumors are false, it hurts Trump because everyone will believe he's behind it. There are no political saviors. There is no white hat riding in at the last minute to 'save America.' Take a deep breath folks. America has never worked that way anyway. It is far more about you, and your response to the everyday present, than it is about a guy you don't know, who 'appears' to be responsible for things you can't control - even as your logical self knows that this doesn't hold any water. Not trying to be confrontational, but if Trump supporters are cultists and Rubio supporters are cultists, what about Cruz supporters? Are they cultists too? If not, why not?
For months I've been saying that Trump/Cruz is the best ticket we can get this year, and that while I prefer Trump, I would vote for Cruz if he got the nomination. I have also said that I don't trust either of them, for different reasons. But over the past few weeks, well before the current flap, my estimation of Cruz has been plummeting. The first thing was his naming Neil Fucking Bush as an economic advisor. You know, the one Bush we thought had gone away forever. That was a major WTF moment for me. A few days ago I read of an association between Cruz and another man, whose name escapes me now. That set off more warning bells. I've also read that he is very arrogant and believes that he is the smartest person in the room, which probably explains why he is so unpopular in the Senate. Now this. I think there is a good probability that these allegations are true. The National Enquirer has a pretty good track record with stories like this, and they have opened themselves up to an enormous libel suit if it is not true. I am more and more convinced that Cruz is not the person he pretends to be, and is closer to the establishment than he seems. There are probably different rival factions within the establishment that don't get along, which could explain why the GOPe leadership hates him. And even before the current allegations, I have never believed that he had a snowball's chance in hell of defeating Hillary in the general election. An awful lot of people find him just plain off-putting. Posted by: rickl at March 25, 2016 06:24 PM (sdi6R) 605

But someone has to get the delegates. Either Trump or Cruz or Kasich. Even if turnout is down, delegates will still be allocated. But seriously, power seems to be an aphrodisiac for many women, and anyone in Cruz's position probably has to beat them off with a stick. That sort of temptation is difficult to resist for any man. I get that. But Cruz portrays himself as devoutly religious. He denies the allegations, and he bloody well better be telling the truth about that. If corroborating information surfaces, he's toast. If the allegations are true, he could admit it and ask forgiveness. Doesn't make sense. Delegates either go to Kasich, Trump or Cruz. They don't just vanish into thin air. Trump is nearly on pace to get enough, he just needs to win a little more than 50% of what remains, with several winner take all votes. To hurt Trump's chances of getting 1237, this story would have to give delegates to either Kasich or Cruz. I could see it pushing a few voters from Trump to Kasich, but otherwise, it seems that it will not cost Trump delegates unless it really blows up in his face somehow. Because it's the percentage of votes that matter, not the raw turnout. Posted by: Just Sayin' at March 25, 2016 07:39 PM (2kjDY) 630

105 Ace, I hope in a moment of clarity you can look back and see the role that you played in all this. You and Drew have, since forever ago advocated that we "let it burn". It being the GOP or the country. Whelp, it's burning because so many on "our side" are willing to put our own personal anger ahead of what's best for the United States. Electing a jackass like Trump out of spite is just the natural conclusion to what was born out of Drew M's stupid imagination as an excuse for not getting involved and helping the situation and facilitated by you. @629: There are only 935 delegates still up for grabs. Its still possible for Cruz and Kasich to swipe enough of them to stop Trump from reaching the magic number...some will go to Trump, but nobody gets the brass ring. Then in swoops the GOPe to save us all from ourselves.

The conventional conservative base has been shit on so many times by the representatives they've sent to Washington over the last seven years that Trump rises to the top now... No wonder... I stopped identifying as Republican or what the current establishment calls 'conservative' shortly after 2012. If what we've seen lately as the national debt rises and our nations prestige gutters, then I'm not 'conservative' anymore. 'Let it burn' is old news. It's on fire NOW and it's booger eater and asshole dumpster fire VS the socialists.

Double standards? Yes, the entire conservative online media has gone full double standard during this election. Throw shi$ at everyone but your guy. They don't even talk about issues anymore. They think they're justified in doing this day after day, because Trump tweets things every now and then that aren't queesnbury rules enough. Posted by: Kyle at March 25, 2016 09:28 PM (ImEa5) 646

Man up (or woman up, or cowboy up) and recognize the danger to freedom that another 4 years of a Democrat in the White House, and nut less Republicans in Congress can inflict on us. Rather than spend too much time here, go watch ET Williams aka the Doctor of Common Sense on YouTube and thetruthdamit channel. Give a shout out to Diamond and Silk who will probably end up paying a price for venturing into Republican territory - while the entire GOP leadership is just giving both Cruz and Trump supporters the middle finger. They had an opportunity to shut down the Democrats and bring more minorities over than ever before, yet they spend their time plotting against both of the primary leaders.

Ace let me put out another theory for all this:
1. Who put out the original ad about Trump's wife? Liz Mair 2. Who is now trying to out the women in the NE story? Liz Mair 3. Who is pushing for Cruz and the women to sue Trump over this? Liz Mair Who is a big supporter of immigration reform and the new age GOP? Liz Mair 5. Who is a big paid shill for the GOPe? Liz Mair Etc...put everything together and you might have a story. She says she is not a Cruz supporter (which I believe now looking back on her past work and supporters), and her co-conspirator seems to be Rick Wilson, who I think was a Rubio supporter. So I could make a case that a group of GOPe shills who are also big supporters of amnesty would have the most to gain from a Cruz-Trump brawl that would make them look both un-electable. Lawsuits, counter charges, etc. Plus it would break up the Trump-Cruz delegate alliance (not a Cruz-Trump alliance, just a delegate alliance) that would make sure one of them is nominated and not a outsider. Notice also how many GOPe types are now talking about someone not running winning the nomination, like Scott Walker, a former Mair boss. She was forced to leave his campaign after she mouthed off about Iowa and her support for open borders. Not saying Walker is the guy, just saying Walker is clearly hearing this stuff from somewhere on the inside. So where does that leave us. I now think neither Trump or Cruz started this. I think Liz Mair and Rick Wilson did. Why not? They have the most to gain by bumping off Cruz in a sex scandal (even if made up) and getting one of their wonder boys back into the nomination fight. They must know the GOPe will never let Trump win the nomination...rules changes? Could be wrong...just a hypothesis to chew on...admit that it does sound GOPe like. Trump's style to to say Cruz scr$wed five women himself! On twitter, with a descriptive video. Does Trump ever not pass up a chance to do the story himself? Why hand it to the NE when he can claim he broke the story. Right? Just take the anti-Trump glasses off for a second. What does this sound like...Trump or Rick Wilson/Liz Mair? 'I don't like Donald Trump because I consider him now to be utterly without honor, a nasty narcissistic man of nothing but appetites and impulses and Really Bad Business Deals that he then claims are "great deals." '
Well, let's review, shall we? Last time round, we had perhaps one of the more honorable men to have run for the office. The man was so devoid of vices, that when the Left came for him, all they could talk about is having his dog ride in some sort of carrier in the hood of the family car, and supposedly being mean to somebody, quite literally when he was a teenager. You couldn't even go back and ask the guy for his side, because he was deceased, so they used that fact to blame his death on Romney. Then, after he loses (after having never really taken it to Obama), he starts opining about Global Warming, stays mostly out of the public eye (except for some weird boxing match). Now he returns to "save America" from Donald Trump by spewing the exact same stream of outright lies that were used against HIM, trying to destroy his party's front-runner, and therefore his party's chances, while hinting that he wants a do-over. With friends like that, who needs enemies? In short, Mr Squeaky Clean was a scumbag. But before that, we had the honorable George W Bush! Oh, wait, he snorted coke, probably went AWOL while on his National Guard service, and had been a drunk. But at there's Ronnie Reagan. Wait a minute ... didn't I just hear that this fairy tale love affair between him and Nancy started while he still married? "Narcissistic?" Gimme a break! You HAVE to be crazy to run for POTUS, and narcissism is just the whipped cream on top. "Really Bad Business Deals"? Yeah, that's how you end up a billionaire, I'm sure. One of the things about Trump is that he is objectively of the most accomplished POTUS candidates in history. So let's stop pretending that ANY of these guys are some sort of paragon of virtue without personality and character flaws. Just gimme a break. Cruz? He's the guy I USED to think well of, since he was running as an anti-establishment guy. Now "Mr Honorable" is the establishment's bitch. Playing DIRTY? Grow up. The establishment was a fraud, and I want the guy who can tell them to go F themselves, fight dirty, and win. You can be sure as hell that the Democrats - under the Queen of Darkness will fight as dirty as it gets! And you can be sure as hell, that every damn person in the US is going to have every single one of Hillary's (and Bill's) lies, scandals, and betrayals memorized by November. After looking at some "#TheThing" tweets you might want to ask AllahPundit about it. It seems "Erica B" gives him a tweet about "#TheThing". I don't know how to leave links here, but I got the screenshot of it. So I will just re-write it: "7:53 AM 13 Mar 2016 @BettinaVLA @StopTrumpPAC @allahpundit we need #TheThing time is running out!" SO why is she repeating a hashtag to someone who supposedly knows nothing about any of this. Now he writing on Hotair acting like this is all news to him. Go read his piece on Hotair. Yet this chick is tweeting him about "#TheThing" on March 13th? "The plot thinkens"...yes...so lets see how much old AP, old boy, knew about this big Cruz story on March 13th. He is part of the stop trump crew right? He was never much of a Cruz supporter. Granted it is not enough to go on to prove anything. However, If someone tweeted me about "#TheThing" and I had no idea what they were talking about I might respond by asking them "what the hell they are talking about"...or "that was a classic movie or a crappy remake"..but then again that is just me. The "Trump / Cruz" wars need to stop. We both have more in common than we have differences.
Cruz thinks the establishment is backing him? That's cute. No, what the establishment is doing is using him to split the vote so that Trump doesn't get to the finish line. Of course, Cruz will not get to the finish line either - that's kind of the establishment plan. Because when they walk into the convention ... and neither Trump nor Cruz has crossed said "finish line" ... the establishment will shift gears and immediately use that as justification to contest the nomination and put their own boy in there. "Thanks for your service, Mr. Cruz - but they're no longer required." It's at that point that Cruz and Trump supporters will be begging each other for support against the establishment. And all these fights between Trump and Cruz supporters? Yeah - they're poisoning any potential for us to band together to STOP the establishment from doing that. Posted by: Thor at March 26, 2016 12:39 PM (sa6+8) 656
Right, so someone who supported Rubio also peddled that story.
Which makes it Rubio's fault. This is entirely appropriate to post after he dropped out in order to make it easier for Cruz to win the primary and save us from Trump. Entirely appropriate. Posted by: Attila Girl at March 26, 2016 01:46 PM (HI1YC) 657

Dear Ace:
Well, we guess Cruz should have stuck to sticking it exclusively in his own wife - or perhaps he shouldn't have decided to campaign as Archangel Metatron bearing the writ of Christ on earth. A wonk can survive infidelity... surviving rank hypocrisy is a smidgen more difficult. We've read enough to figure there is enough smoke to indicate fire(s). The fact that Rancid Rubio's minions, GOPe shills and several other meathead gaggles have been pushing the narrative, while the big conservative guns spiked the story only solidifies in our mind something decidedly unbecoming went on here. Naturally, not being the stupid sort, we acknowledge the likelihood of Trump's surrogates exhuming these bones prematurely. (We say "prematurely" because candidate Cruz's whoring around was likely how the establishment intended to submarine the rube come November). Welcome to political bloodletting. Dredging up Special Ted's carcasses not only helps Donald politically, it's also a square punch in the mouth - retribution for Cruz's minions dragging Trump's family into the fracas. The bitter taste of disappointment and impotent rage you feel right now Ace is the realization that our political process will not mend itself. Did you truly expect some conservative cavalier on a white charger would thunder in and sweep you free of our tyrannical government? A nice fairy tale. A dream. But now, back in the real world, you rub the sleep from your eyes and rouse to videos, news reports, allegations and interviews of how your paragon is in actuality a serial philanderer. You not only begin to question how you were so easily duped, but why all the media outlets you trusted - Brietbart, Drudge, Red State, Hot Air - behaved just like the DemonRat Media. They certainly knew this 0 Rubio's clowns made sure of that. These people were hiding news from you. You've been betrayed by not just the political establishment, but by those who you thought were your ideological comrades. Well, there you go - happy f*cking Easter Ace. Welcome to the wholly corrupt, Fallen United States of America. (FUSA). Now, with nothing left but the bitter taste of betrayal, defeat and soot in your mouth, you can understand where people like us have been years. We've long understood this wicked political process will NEVER allow rectification from within. Expectations of such are fantastic lies conservatives tell themselves... to avoid dealing with the horrible ramifications. It's naught more than a coping mechanism. No... we don't really blame you - it's difficult to admit your nation is beyond salvation. It is unpleasant to ponder revolution and sedition. But here we are - and truthfully, we've been here for the entirety of our lives. America's relative prosperity has thus far done spackled over our incremental devolution to serfdom. But the crown molding is beginning to crack, and folks have noticed. Some of us more than others. You will never fix this system by selecting from a cornucopia of political whores, scribbling one of their names on a slip of paper, and relying on their paid minions to record it. Time and time again, you set timber upon a crumbled foundation and then scratch your brow come Spring thaw, befuddled as to why the cabin walls staved in. No Ace. Knock it to the ground and start over. Scatter the remnants. Scourge the earth where it stood. Build anew, minding the failures of the past. Everything else is doomed to tumble - as the groundwork is fissured beyond any hope of mending. You've more than once already prescribed the true remedy - perhaps superficially... or in jest... but on a subconscious level Ace, you did understand what needs to happen - for any true redress of the people's grievances. Now, as time dwindles, you hear the dogs of war baying in the distant moors, and your are getting uncomfortable. Sorry for your shattering of your safe space, but this was all so very predictable. You placed faith in politicians, their strumpets and in a system beyond redemption. You can sulk, crawl back into your shell or lash out verbally at those who experience taught better. Or... you can take the time you still have to prepare for what's coming. (As unpleasant and bloody as it will surely be). We intend to slash it to pieces Ace of Spades. We have chosen our destroyer... and we will enable him to the bitter end. We will not abandon this man on the field of battle, regardless of any foible, (and as we stand before God, we do mean "ANY"). "Why!?" you petulantly snort? Because Ace... he is our blade - and our weapon is sharp, merciless, "yuuuuuge...." and accomplishing exactly what we chose it to do. We choose Donald Trump as our destroyer - because we know better than to believe our salvation will ever come from Washington D.C. Since oblivion is all that fetid swamp can conjure, then we shall turn it's power upon itself. When the time comes, we roll the dice on whatever slithers from the ashes. We're in the mood for a bonfire Ace. Don't look so horrified - you suggested it first. We liked the idea and decided to run with it. Help. It. Burn. (And f*ck the consequences.) Ace, friend, this sort of thing happens in politics. If your opponent had extra-marital affairs, you use it against him. Obama did it. Clinton did it. Gingrich did it, and had it done to him. This story doesn't even tie Rubio's campaign directly to the rumors, just his allies. And, Rubio's "allies" couldn't even get it published.
No, you know who got it published? Trump, who is friends with the National Inquirer's publisher. Trump, the guy you flirted with supporting well past a reasonable point, when he had already amassed a huge delegate lead. And, now, you're discussing the story. And, you know what? I don't know if I believe Cruz. Sure, maybe Cruz was just working with this woman he was seen with regularly at the same restaurant and hotel. Or not. I have no idea, and until I hear more details, I'll hold it out as a possibility that he did cheat. Because that's what reasonable people do. Not that it will affect my vote. I still have to choose Cruz, the weirdo, because there's no other sane choice. But maybe don't throw a gigantic flame thrower temper tantrum every time politics happens. That's how we got Trump.
