Explosions at Brussels Airport and Metro Stations, Kill 34, Injure 170 More

The Religion of Peace, no doubt.

Another burst of coordinated violence.

Three explosions that ripped through the Belgian capital of Brussels on Tuesday killed at least 34 people and wounded about 170 more, according to Belgian media, and raised the reality of terror once again in the heart of Europe.

"We were fearing terrorist attacks, and that has now happened," Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel told reporters.

Belgian federal Prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw said late Tuesday morning that it was too soon to know exactly how many people died in the bombings. Yet Belgian state broadcaster RTBF, citing emergency services, reported 20 dead at the Maalbeek metro station and 14 more killed at Brussels' international airport.

...

While there's been no official claim of responsibility, many prominent ISIS supporters celebrated Tuesday's deadly terror attacks in Brussels on social media.

One widely circulated Twitter post among these ISIS backers featured the words, "What will be coming is worse."

Ted Cruz says what a lot of us are thinking: in the aftermath of this latest bloodbath, we don't need another lecture on "Islamophobia." Snippets from his press conference at Townhall.

"Today's attacks in Brussels underscores this is a war," Cruz said. "This is not a lone war. ISIS has declared jihad."

"It is way past time we have a president who will acknowledge this evil and will call it by its name and use the full force and fury to defeat ISIS," he continued. "Until they are defeated, these attacks will continue. Their target is each and every one of us."

...

"We need a president who sets aside political correctness," Cruz insisted. "We don't need another lecture about Islamophobia."

Obama has only two modes: Lecturing law-abiding Americans about their claimed responsibility for Islamist violence, and missing 2-foot tap-in putts.

Cruz: It's Striking that the Day After Donald Trump Calls for the US to Abandon NATO, ISIS Strikes Brussels, the Headquarters of NATO. No, this isn't "blaming" Trump for the attack, whiners. This is Cruz pointing out Trump's callow isolationism.

Incidentally, it's hard to even say Trump is "isolationist." One day he talks up a Ron Paul style isolationism and withdrawal, the next day he's hell-bent on sending troops to Syria.

I guess his supporters only hear the inconsistent messages they like, or assume that he's got some kind of yuge, Trumpian secret strategy that would make sense of this dog's breakfast of emotional outbursts masquerading as a policy.

Indeed. Bane seriously has the best lines in the movie.

"Oh, you think the darkness is your ally, you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding! The shadows betray you, because they belong to me. I will show you where I have made my home, I will be preparing to bring justice. Then, I will break you. Your precious armory, gratefully accepted. We will need it. Ah yes, I was wondering what would break first. Your spirit, or your body?"

105 Posters jumping on Cruz for putting himself on air in person while everyone else gets to call in are so far in the bag for Trump that they are not willing to listen. yesterday, Trump called for us to pull out of NATO and pull back from supporting our allies in the ME. How is this going to stop ISIS? When asked by the Washington Post about using nuclear arms against ISIS, he goes off on a tangent about his election rivals and how they were low energy and he is up in the polls. One day he says he will be a neutral negotiator between Israel and Palestine(as if there is a Palestine) and then says something completely different to AIPAC. This is who you want for President?
By the way, my son is working in Brussels and I got a call at 4 am to tell me he was alright. This made this very personal.I would prefer the cool headed Cruz to the bizarre narcissistic Trump dealing with a situation like this.

I think that's overstated a bit. But it's probably worthwhile to have a discussion of whether we should continue to foot the bill for europe's defense, while they remain unwilling to lift a finger themselves and do the minimal sensible thing of sealing their borders and deporting the islamic colonists among them, which allows them to maintain socialist welfare states which are then used by the dems as an excuse to impose it here, or not.

I don't think it will serve Cruz well to continue to push the notion that Trump is neutral between Israel and the palestinians after Trump's AIPAC speech last night, which FNC broadcast in its entirety, but he's behind and has to do something, I guess.

Yep. ISIS is already the fifth or sixth incarnation of the leading sunni outfit. Same people, for the most part, do the same stuff.

In the end, the situation is pretty simple: All threats from the Arab/Persian/Muslim world start and stop with control of the gulf oil fields. It's really that simple. All of the APM world power comes from those fields - political, financial, strategic - and it will all disappear in a second if control of those fields is taken back from the arabs and persians (control that was stolen by them in the forced nationalization waves of the mid 20th century). Without those fields, the APM world is neutered and islam dies on the vine ... or, at least, ceases to be any serious threat (providing we are smart enough to not keep importing the APM world here).

Suppose there existed a basically universal concept of omnipotence in godhead. And imagine that that concept extented to obigatory obedience to the dictates and adnomishments of (pick any) deity. So far so good, right?

Now suppose that in a universe where there exists multiple conceptualizations of godhead and that among that multitude there exists at least one concept whose deity's admonishment include the eradication of any who do not hold to that singular concept of godhead.

What would be a NORMAL universal response from the remaining ideologies that for whatever evolutionary reasons that determined the development of their ideologies that rejected murder as a response to heresy?

Is acceptance, and even submissiveness toward this type of ideology appropriate?

Thinking back on transplanted "problematic" movements in the US, there certainly have been periods of 20 years or more when some foreign insurgency had a strong enough base of support in ethnic enclaves that perps could go to ground with impunity. IRA, Molly McGuires, old-school anarchists, Sicilian guilds of several stripes, Zionists, many more. The difference being, except for the Patriots, all of those movements either got what they wanted back home, got respectable, or lost their tenement base. 241 Yet Cruz cannot bring himself to say "stop Islamic immigration into America". Not even temporarily.

What does NATO have to do with any of this? We can bomb ISIS into extinction, but jihad is still part of Islam. There are hordes of groups out there with all sorts of names that are organized jihadist groups. You kill one, and another five come to life. This is because jihad is part of Islam. It is a religious duty!

Now don't get me wrong I am for bombing ISIS into extinction. I am just pointing out that it will not stop the concept of jihad in the Islamic religion. So what use will destroying ISIS in Syria be if you keep letting Muslim immigration continue into America? You are still carrying out a variation of "fight them over there, but let them over here" policy that we have had for over 20 plus years.

Cruz is better than Obama (and Bush), but he is still behind to Trump on this issue. Trump is still closer to the truth when he said, "Islam hates us". Compare what Trump said on Fox this morning to what Cruz said. Trump is even closer to the truth when he is incoherent and blundering about for the right words.

Note: And please don't tell me, "but Trump does not believe it". I could say the same thing about Cruz's position considering he has been all over the map in regards to Islamic immigration into America. It is not just migrants from Syria. Is Cruz willing to do a temporary ban on Islamic immigration into America? This is a Non-PC test that is important to pass as a nation if we are really serious about stopping stuff like what happened in Belgium today. Hopefully Cruz will get there at some point....

Futility.

Back in November the shithead Hollande said France was at war but...

"We are not committed to a war of civilizations, because these assassins don't represent any civilization. We are in a war against terrorism, jihadism, which threatens the whole world. Terrorism will not destroy France, because France will destroy it."

Total useless bullshit.

Four months later...

France has not, evidently destroyed terrorism. Today the shithead prime minister of France said this: "We are at war. We have been subjected for the last few months in Europe to acts of war."

Okay, that's something, I guess. But who again, exactly are you at war with, France?

France can't say. But Merkel's chief of staff can sort of say: "Terrorists will never win. Our European values much stronger than hate, violence, terror!"

So Europe is At War with hate, violence, and terror.

This is why Europe is doomed. They have regressed to acting like children. Very ignorant and precocious children. They believe they are at war with negative emotions and negative behavior. Pathetic.

271 Yet Cruz cannot bring himself to say "stop Islamic immigration into America". Not even temporarily.

What does NATO have to do with any of this? We can bomb ISIS into
extinction, but jihad is still part of Islam. There are hordes of groups
out there with all sorts of names that are organized jihadist groups.
You kill one, and another five come to life. This is because jihad is
part of Islam. It is a religious duty!

Now don't get me wrong I am for bombing ISIS into extinction. I am
just pointing out that it will not stop the concept of jihad in the
Islamic religion. So what use will destroying ISIS in Syria be if you
keep letting Muslim immigration continue into America? You are still
carrying out a variation of "fight them over there, but let them over
here" policy that we have had for over 20 plus years.

Cruz is better than Obama (and Bush), but he is still behind to
Trump on this issue. Trump is still closer to the truth when he said,
"Islam hates us". Compare what Trump said on Fox this morning to what
Cruz said. Trump is even closer to the truth when he is incoherent and
blundering about for the right words.

Note: And please don't tell me, "but Trump does not believe it". I
could say the same thing about Cruz's position considering he has been
all over the map in regards to Islamic immigration into America. It is
not just migrants from Syria. Is Cruz willing to do a temporary ban on
Islamic immigration into America? This is a Non-PC test that is
important to pass as a nation if we are really serious about stopping
stuff like what happened in Belgium today. Hopefully Cruz will get there
at some point....

301 Cruz is desperate, and so immediately tried to make this an issue about Trump. It echoes Cruz blaming the Moveon.org Chicago disruption on Trump.

My over/under last week on AZ was 45% for Trump. Given the weekend, AIPAC and today's attack, I'd now go with the over. Can Trump hit 50% in AZ? In any case, all 58 AZ delegates will go to Trump.

Meanwhile in Utah, Glenn Beck is humping the Christian vote for Cruz: "Utah has an incredible opportunity. So many Christians have been standing up. But all throughout the South the Evangelicals are not listening to their God. Let us raise a standard in Utah."

And Romney has already humped the Mormon vote for Cruz.

So with these priestly endorsements, Cruz can hit 50% in Utah and take all 40 delegates. Not that it matters, Cruz is done. And winning Utah this way is a pyhrric victory. In political races you can lose well and fight another day. Or you can beclown yourself and ruin your carreer. Ted meet Marco ...

319 When it comes to going to war against ISIS, first is you can't half-ass it. Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been aiding and abetting ISIS because they're mercenaries helping them get rid of their REAL enemies, the Kurds, the Assad Alawites, and the Shiites.

We can't talk about beefing up NATO at the same time that a NATO partner is treacherously playing both sides.

Syria is an unfixable shithole and there's no way in hell that Americans will support leaving thousands of troops there to try to make it a functioning state. ISIS however does do us the favor of staying in one place so there are actual physical places to go all Putin on them. None of this droning a few "commanders" with the express written permission of Obama's legal team.

If NATO isn't willing to go all out, if they're not willing to throw out a partner aiding the enemy, and if Europe doesn't want to throw in their share of the cash and manpower needed to secure territory for European corporations to make money, then "beefing up NATO" isn't really going to change much of anything.

359 I can understand supporting Trump, I wanted him to be nominated and name Cruz as VP with a promise to only serve one term in the early campaign days. I love Make America Great Again. Sums things up so well. We were a great country, Dem policies are ruining us.

But as a natural procrastinator I didn't commit to anyone and now I'm not liking Trumps erratic statements, he does not seem to fully support the best parts of his platform, so even though he has given lots of publicity to the Sessions plan and the fact that the religion of pieces is a problem I'm just not liking the idea of him as the R candidate or as POTUS.

But the blame for him is all on the GOP leadership and they will never come out, admit they were scheming to keep Cruz or Jindal out in even letting Trump run for the nomination in a party he never supported before well into Brak's reign.

And it would take more than an admission to change the minds of those who support Trump as the smod to the GOP backstabbers at this point, Mitch, Ryan, and especially vile Hal Rogers, and some more would all have to resign their positions and the rest of the slimy congress critters would have to put in the most conservative congress folks in their place as senate majority leader, Speaker, appropriations chair or whatever they call Rogers' position.

But of course that won't happen. The GOPe will keep Kasitch in as spoiler of any chance for Cruz to get the nom. and will either let Trump have the nomination and blame all R losses in him and stupid flyover people or they will make a horrid back room deal to give the nomination to someone else and enrage all of the Trump /Trump's platform supporters and still blame Trump and them for major losses.

The GOPe are perfectly happy to lose big in November. They like being the minority, fake opposition party to grow the government dems and they will find cushy lobbyist jobs for those who lose their congress seats.

"The thoughts and the prayers of the American people are with the people of Belgium and we stand in solidarity with them in condemning these outrageous attacks against innocent people. We will do whatever is necessary to support our friend and ally Belgium in bringing to justice those who are responsible, and this is yet another reminder that the world must unite. We must be together, regardless of nationality or race or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism. We can and we will defeat those who threaten the safety and security of people all around the world."

Step 1. Muslim animals kill innocent people

Step 2. Everyone says it's horrible, an outrage, people put pictures of the Belgian flag on facebook profile photos

Step 3. Talking heads on CNN wonder who could have done this and gosh, why? Such a mystery

Step 4. Breaking News: Mohhamed Ahmed Abdul Mohhamed Abdullah is arrested. Still no motive whatsoever. The mystery continues

Step 5. Democrats call for gun control

Step 6. A few days pass, everyone forgets, and goes back to thinking Muslims are wonderful people and if only we had a few more million of them in the US, it would be totes awesome.

My only difference with Cruz' statement is that it's not enough to say that the evil is ISIS. Terrorists carried out their bombings and murders long before there was such a thing as ISIS, and will continue to do so long after the last member of ISIS is rotting in the grave. The evil is Islamic Terrorism. Full stop.

This will continue until the civilized world expels every radicalized Muslim and every enabling mosque from its borders. When the only form of Islam in the West is benign, peaceful, and philosophical (and consider whether that is possible), and every fanatic willing to kill, rape, or main in the name of the false fish-god Allah is firmly sequestered in the sandy litterbox from which they came, we will be safe, and not until then.

LOL!

Imagine...It is 1941..."We must help the Italians so they can stop the Nazis!"

NATO was designed a long time ago and it was set up to stop the USSR. It could still maybe be useful to stop the Russians...maybe.

But with Turkey (NATO member) is saying, "Muslim men invade Europe", and with Germany (NATO member) saying "Muslim men rape me", it is kind of hard to use NATO to stop jihadist invasions of Europe. I don't care how much money and U.S. troops we give them.

Should be pointed out again that both Cruz and Trump are running as Republicans on the Republican ticket andthey're both vying for leadership of the Republican Party. Trump and CruzARE the GOP. They can only be outsiders insasmuch as their actions and beliefs are counter to those of the comparatively moderate Republican Establishment.

True, Trump has been a liberal Democrat most of his adult life, but we'll assume for the sake of argument that his ideological shift to the right is genuine and that he isn't lying his ass off because he thinks his supporters are witless idiots, chumps, suckers and marks who will believe everything--no matter how ridiculousand wrong--that comes spewing out of his lying piehole.

Just checking in (prairie dogging), and haven't seen exactly what he said, but with that having been said, I'm inclined to disagree.

Politics involves formulation of policy, as the etymology would suggest. A terrorist attack naturally raises questions of what our policy should be toward Muslims in general and Muslim terrorists in particular (assuming the terrorists here were Muslim; I'm also assuming the sun will rise in the east tomorrow).
So attacking political opponents for their policies regarding terrorists and terrorism is not out of bounds, methinks. It's a fundamental question facing the US right now, and inevitably an issue that will be critical in the upcoming election. And if now is not the right time to bring it up, when is?

Cruz isn't blaming Trump, he is just proving that he is like all the other politicians, caring about himself more than his constituents.

512 I am a Conservative, social conservative type. Thus, I don't support Trump, who made his fortune by exploiting addictive gambling and ruined tens of thousands of lives.

Since I don't support Trump, according to many of the Trump supporters here, I have a picture of Mitch McConnell that I pray to, I cash a check from Soros, and I worship Obama and BLM.

Trump is a moral-less, vain, dangerous person who quite literally profits off of human misery and suffering. The only candidate besides Trump who has caused as much human misery and suffering is Hillary with her destruction of Libya.

I appreciate his moving the Overton window to the right on Immigration. But his supporters bashing of Christians, constant deriding of morality, and thinking that they are the only true believers and everyone else, especially Ted Cruz supporters, sings the Internationale and prays to Lenin is very, very off-putting.

Put shortly: Would Hillary treat Mormons worse than Trump? Probably not. His supporters certainly treat them worse, along with evangelicals. And outside of immigration, he's as far left as she is. But dare to say it, and you're mobbed as a "cuckservative" and a establishment stooge.

Rubio makes fun of him and suddenly he is gone. Cruz makes a legitimate point about Trump's incoherent policy statements and suddenly he is a goner. Why is Cruz suddenly the darling of the "establishment" when all he has done is opposed their agenda and tried to stand up for his principles. Who are the mega donors supposedly supporting Cruz? Trump is using his own money to fund his campaign which is then paying venues he owns, a plane he owns, hotels he owns, golf courses he owns promoting his brand. The free publicity he is getting is priceless whether he wins or loses.

Not
particularly. His initial disappointing comments appear to have been
the product of bad information regarding the scope and nature of the
'protest' in Chicago.

That he chose to make an attack out of the
event puts him more in line with the lunatic fringe of the gope that
sees Trump as some kind of Hitler figure. Which is like being in bed

520 As I have said many times, read Mark Styen's "America Alone."

There have been "no go" zones in Europe for a long time. Paris police know better.

Maalbeek, where the subway bomb occurred, is where the cowardly Pairs bomber was caught...and it was mentioned, one of those "no-go" places.

I stand with Belgium today, but found it, a couple of years ago, to be the least friendly of many countries traveled. The only time I felt ill at ease was on a train from Brussels to Bruges. Cold people towards Americans. Bruges was fine, but what i saw of Brussels I did not care for.

This is the slow wake up call to Europe for their open borders, Merkel, and their idea of assimilating barbarians in their midst. They do not assimilate, they take over city blocks, put up walls in places (I know!) and practice sharia law. A woman was stoned to death in Marsailles, France a few years ago. I mean, come on!

Yet, bless their hearts, prior to Cologne, kind people in Austria met these evil refugees with open arms...and are bewildered at this violence. I read of one lady, attacked in Cologne, bewildered at the reason for the attack.

I can explain it, Frau Merkel: 80% of these poor refugees are male and young. And barbarians who view Western women, showing their arms or ankles, to be whores. You bring the same barbaric neanderthals to Europe, you get what goes on in the caliphate countries. Simple as that. Bin Laden was correct: paper tigers everywhere.

Political correctness will lead to more of this. Yet we still are importing mooslems to our country.

"In 1999, the Vatican hosted a conference of Muslim and Christian leaders, attended by the Titular Archbishop of Smyrna. He reports that a Muslim participant was disarmingly frank about the purpose of Islamic settlers in pluralistic Western societies. Addressing the Christian delegates from Europe, he allegedly said: "Because of our religion, we will invade you; because of your democracy, we will destroy you."
