44 Posted this last night - curious why no reporting on it. This is the Machete attack that happened in Columbus, OH.

The FBI still can't figure out the motive though. It's hard being an investigator.

http://tinyurl.com/jnpeu6w
So...
The machete attacker in Columbus, Ohio attacked a Deli named 'Nazareth Deli'.

As soon as I saw that I said, hmmm I wonder if his name is Mohammed.

Well, sure enough his name WAS Mohammad (I say was because the police killed this piece of shit).

Turns out the Deli is owned by an Israeli man.

Hmmm..what a coincidence. Seems totally random to me, I mean, what connection could there be.

The police seem equally confused as to motive. Even more strangely, the FBI is ALSO confused.

I said to myself: 'self, why would the FBI be involved in what is essentially a local crime?'

Well, it turns out, ol' Mohammad was known to the FBI...huh. Very strange, I can't possibly imagine why THAT would be.

So..great job DHS/DOJ/FBI.

Dear Democrats, how many Americans killed at the hands of these POS's is an acceptable number?

45 Hi, folks.

Here's a scenario that I have been pondering for South Carolina but I wonder if it might happen nationally.

The impression that I have gotten is that black voters are not particularly enthused by either Hillary! or Bernie and are likely to not vote in their state primary. On the other hand, there is a black man running in the Republican primaries and even though most black voters would never vote for a Republican in November, they might vote for Ben Carson in the primary just to help a brother out.

Iowa and New Hampshire are both very white states so this phenomenon would be hard to spot, if it even exists. South Carolina, on the other hand is 40% black so if something like this were to happen, it would be hard to miss.

Any way, it is technically a possibility in any state with an open primary.

49 Happy birthday to Brother Cavil. I hope you get to do something you like today.

The painter of these pasta trees is Even Ulving. His twin brother, Odd Ulving, was also an artist dedicated to the painting of the pasta harvest, but he got on the wrong side of some of the Italians and was found dead in a vat of marinara sauce.

The meeting of dirty Scandi with Italian is always fraught with danger.

75 From "The Sketch Book" of Washington Irving, 1820, quoted for reasons which should be obvious:

[quote]
As it is the fashion for modern tourists to travel pencil in hand, and bring home their portfolios filled with sketches, I am disposed to get up a few for the entertainment of my friends. When, however, I look over the hints and memorandums I have taken down for the purpose, my heart almost fails me at finding how my idle humor has led me aside from the great objects studied by every regular traveller who would make a book. I fear I shall give equal disappointment with an unlucky landscape painter, who had travelled on the continent, but, following the bent of his vagrant inclination, had sketched in nooks, and corners, and by-places. His sketch-book was accordingly crowded with cottages, and landscapes, and obscure ruins; but he had neglected to paint St. Peter's, or the Coliseum; the cascade of Terni, or the Bay of Naples; and had not a single glacier or volcano in his whole collection.
[end quote]

That's what RDB needs to search out for us: Moar Volcanos!

It's strange, though. Irving's Sketch Book hasn't got a single drawing in it! ...

80 Well documented killings by the KKK were done by FBI informants. My belief is that Government jobs should only be held by elected officials and that all agencies be staffed with unpaid volunteers and conscripts. I'm not sure this would be any better but at least I would have hope. At least vigilante justice and possess aren't a business like the current US Criminal Justice System.

84 My late uncle, a tanker, spent some time in Oklahoma during the war. He was a gifted storyteller (local epithet: "bullshitter"), and often regaled the hicks here with tales of the Oklahoma spaghetti harvest. They swallowed it whole. He used a different spin, with the stalks already dry in the fields, and said that when the crop was ready, the clacking was so loud you couldn't sleep at night.

My mother would try to tell the story of him telling the story, and would get laughing so hard she'd sob, and couldn't get to the punchlines. But the thing was, the local housewives, farmgals all, who should have known better -- plus a few of them worked for Nabisco! -- never doubted it for a moment. He was just that good.

95 Dems will purposefully throw away any war-related progress made in the previous term. Vietnam and Iraq were in clean-up mode at the time of Watergate and Obama's election.

An America that has solved this problem? What does that look like? I'm thinking a Justice Department that goes after the recipients of suspicious foreign money. It's a little outrageous that Al Gore can increase his net worth 100 fold, thanks to Al Jazzeera and not get attention. But hey laws are for little people to worry about.

OregonMuse, come on. If the obnoxious lectures in the WSJ editorials aren't enough, you could always do the old "find the 'news' in the newspaper" game with any front-page article.

A classic (a few years back) was a front-page piece on a particular drug-resistant infectious disease resurgence in the US (a disease essentially eliminated in our lifetimes). I said to the wife when I saw the headline - and that it was the WSJ - "let's see how far down in the article the major unmentionable factor is noted".

Sure enough, waaaay down in about paragraph 34, the written equivalent of a mumble ..... "most cases are being reported in southwest border states". Outside finance and business, narrowly defined, impression is that the WSJ is as protective of selected bigotries and ignorance bubbles as NPR or the rest.

110 Any way, it is technically a possibility in any state with an open primary. Posted by: Obnoxious A-Hole

I think the crossover (and combover) vote in Iowa went to Rubio, who then went into endless loop in next debate. Which probably scared off his democrat supporters. Then crossover vote in New Hampshire went to Kasich. Who probably can't generate any traction in the south.

So the crossover vote going to Carson next seems a possibility.

BourbonChicken, "Dems will purposefully throw away any war-related progress made in the previous term. Vietnam and Iraq were in clean-up mode at the time of Watergate and Obama's election."

Such a rosy-glasses view of America. It wasn't just Dems throwing away national interest secured with blood in Iraq. Recall the national hysteria, to include McConnell begging Bush for help with mid-terms, and such stalwart national security figures as Coleman and Kirk rolling out the weasel words to mollify their idiot constituents. And the collective Beltway idiocy-festival opposing "the surge" (an obvious, easy, simple and long overdue use of common sense tactics that worked, instantly, of course).

Chances are you'll find some Code Pink-level silliness on the topic right here in these comments today, if you pay attention. And not from anyone who would ever consider voting for a Dem.

The problem is much bigger than just that one major party. Big enough that putting Americans in harms' way at this point seems criminally irresponsible.

I think any President that puts Americans in harm's way, knowing that the next election cycle may well bring the Democrats Establishment Cartel back to power, needs to consider very carefully the blood that will be on his hands!

Apparently freedom of speech is a tool of "White Supremacy", and only by silencing incorrect speech can people become free... to blindly agree with hard Left racial bigotry.

Freedom of speech was invented by white slaveowners, so of course it's bad. That's all you need to know.

119 Rhomboid I'm on a major kick to talk about the good things that the future may hold. Reagan had to talk about the collapse of communism for thirty years, and I don't think that great people like Bill Whittle for example will have to wait that long to get results, but we do have to know what the next big forward step of America and/or civilization will be.

When the Berlin Wall came down (what a perfect symbol) I'm sure people like Reagan said "Finally." Because they WERE NOT surprised. The NPR set were surprised, and unsettled. If their world-view was that uncertain all the time, that would be a blessing to them. It wouldn't feel good, and I don't even enjoy their discomfort, but that would be the best thing that could happen to them. It's what gnawed at Breitbart for a few years before his political awakening.
