That's nice but it's really not enough. Every administrator that helped push through this decision needs to be fired and every student that lobbied for it expelled. If they hate the school and its history so much then they would probably be much happier going somewhere else ... like maybe the University of Uganda or something.

There is another element here to note as well - this is collective punishment.
Well the modern west rejects collective punishment and retaliation, there is little question that it works...which is why you see it in most (all?) pre-civilized countries for "policing" and even in most modern countries in war.
Certainly, using Europe's anemic policing model, presuming they do (instead of what we saw in Rotterdam for example), will not have any notable effect on the Islamic invaders.
I'm not endorsing collective punishment here - I think the clear, humane, answer is to send them home. But if Europe won't do that, then you will have escalating conflict between the invaders and the people of Europe until one side wins...and it will only get more and more violent until that point.

One of the best bits of wisdom I've repeatedly handed out to STEM students -- if you're supposed to take Calculus 3A-B-C in the first year with Physics 10A-B-C....stagger it so you take the math first. Take Calc 3A and defer the physics; then take Calc 3B with Phys 10A; Calc 3C with Phys 10B; and take Phys 10C next year with differential equations.
It will vastly improve your comfort level, your stress level, your understanding of the subject, and your GPA -- and, because of the way prereq's are structured, it won't slow you down by any appreciable amount.

Eh... I could live with it. The episode wasn't "filled with it", there were a couple of digs, that I recall... but that's in character with Mulder and Scully, really. So, if you're an exporter in China and your goods are "FOB Shanghai dock", you [theoretically] still get paid when your goods are loaded even if the ship sinks while still moored to the dock. 2 years is a lot of time out of ones life. And Sagan was talking about 10,000 years which comes out to 4 years in your analogy, which is a very serious amount of someone's life.
The fact is that either Sagan was confused or was trying to push something to make recorded history seem like an insignificant piece of human history. He also glossed over the power of exponential growth which accompanied those last 10,000 years, when the number of humans on Earth dwarfed those of the past.
Clearly, humans love exploration and discovery but Sagan seems to have no clue why and his explanation was sort of stupid.

It wouldn't be a problem past the first quarter. When they saw all their Physics classmates stumped at trying to describe something when they already had the math for it, they'd realize that much of their physics coursework was dumbed-down and explained backwards in order to not outrun the math that the students were expected to know. If you already know the math, you can learn physics forwards -- simpler, and easier.

So which is it?
1. The best, brightest, and most ambitious go out and colonize new regions, leaving the average folks back in the relative comfort of the old country/planet.
2. The normal people push the misfits out of their well-ordered society, forcing them to go out and colonize new countries/planets.
I think it's a little of both. I also think that a frontier is necessary to keep ideas of individual liberty alive. A settled society tends towards conformity.

True. I had to slap a presentation together about chemical equilibrium but couldn't assume people knew calculus, so I had to keep it simple.
I compared two college into chemistry textbooks. One from 20 years ago, and another originally written in the '40's by Linus Pauling. The former did not use calculus and was at times hard to follow. Pauling's book did use calculus and was rather straight forward.
This is why I try to pick up older text books whenever I visit used book stores.

I run Opera browser with javascript and plug-ins off.
On every other site, and on all AoS posts except yours, imbedded YouTubes show up with a black square and a "something's wrong" message, but that has a link to YouTube which I can copy for downloading the video. (I prefer to download than live stream because my own reasons, ok?)
On your embeds, though, I get an empty space. I have to turn on javascript and plug-ins, re-load the page, and then start playing the video before I can get the YouTube URL for copying. Then turn off settings again.
I've looked at the source code and darned if I can figure out how it even works (some script) but yours are different than anybody else's.
Maybe it's easier for you this way but it's just one more annoying technical hurdle and hassle for me.
Just my problem, I suppose, and not yours and maybe nobody else's. But FTR.

You could say that Clyde Tombaugh discovered the ninth planet in 1930, or you could say that he discovered the first of an entirely new class of objects, about 60 years before the next one was found. Today we know of hundreds at least, and we've only found the larger ones. There are probably millions of smaller ones.
Whatever you want to call Pluto, it doesn't diminish Tombaugh's achievement in the slightest.

But, they have to play against 12 year old girls. Some of whom need the exercise in the worst way. Some of those girls outweigh my son by about double. They are fat and slow but they are bullies because they can bodyslam and get away with it.

It's the greatest load of crap I've ever seen in sports. Teaches the girls to be fat and slow, and the boys to hate playing games.
They do much better when they play their actual peers.
When I was that age (get off my lawn!), girls played broomball. It was fast and mean and without pads. We weren't allowed to play hockey with all the pads and protections because we might get hurt. I never got that. I always came home bloody and bruised and loved every minute of it.

I doubt it. There's nothing "unsavory" about defending yourself, your family, friends and countrymen when your own government has, as is noted, actively doubled down in acting against you.
Sweden has entered the Burning Times, and we can't judge them by the same standards as societies that haven't. The migrants may technically be there "legally", but they are not there legitimately. They are all therefore fair game for the citizenry to repel, until they are gone one way or another.
To see this more clearly, think about the government confiscation of houses to give to the migrants. This is done by elected officials and is "legal" in that sense, but does the homeowner have the moral right to use deadly force against the migrants in his own house, until it is free of them? Of course. Hopefully, before that point, they will "self deport".
The really stunning thing is how adamant all these European governments are in their will to destroy their own people. Is Soros bribing them all? Are they all clones of Barack Obama?

What's odd is, there's plenty of video out there of these attacks. There's one youtube in particular -- I think it was shown around here -- that a woman took herself while she's trying to ward off three of these animals. Ask what if that was three white Republicans attacking a Black woman in a subway. Would it be newsworthy?
