30 Funny how just last week we were being lectured by Gov. Haley on civility, tolerance, and the need for the GOP to reach out to a wide variety of potential voters. The party is not about alienation, but inclusion.

Now NRO tells us that no, those icky people who actually support Trump, or who even just say they would vote for him over any Democrat should it come to that are stupid. They should be voting for a "true conservative" as defined by NRO. Because they're smarter and we should not think for ourselves?

Paths To The Nomination: Trump, Cruz, And Rubio By Robert Tracinski

Here is the calculation. If you add to Rubios RCP poll average the share currently going to the candidates who are most similar to him (Bush, Christie, and Carly Fiorina), he would be at a little over 22 percent in the polls, about four points higher than Cruz. its reasonable to speculate that Rubio would catch a significant percentage of the votes now going to the mild-mannered Carson, plus some undecideds and voters now supporting other minor candidates. That would put him between 25 percent and 30 percent, right up there between the two leading candidates.

The Federalist

If Rubio gets everybody else's votes, he wins! Well -- comes in second....

That's the sort of cutting edge political analysis you can only get at PAASB The Federalist.

NJ hasn't gotten any yet; It's supposed to start this evening. However , the panic at the supermarket has begun. You go in there and it looks like a horde of hungry locusts went through even with items you wouldn't expect. Hummus is wiped out?. I had to go because I didn't have much of anything and was waiting till someone got paid. I was in line and then i realized I had forgotten one thing. When I got back (really quickly) someone had pushed my cart completely out of line. Ooookay. They without saying anything to to woman who did that, I went to another line where some woman said, "I'm in line here, you know!!" "Yes, I did know that," I said.. "We're two lines feeding into one and unless I park completely in the aisle I have to park my cart here."

If there's a nuclear disaster those of us who aren't dead and haven't been prepping for years will be fighting over the last bit of bread. ;^)

Fair enough. But you don't need to build a compound. A year's worth of emergency food is about $1,000 and fits in a closet. Buying silver is just another form of saving/investing. If you never have to use it, you pass it on to your kids.

Keep it covered in plastic. (not being snarky)

Ionizing radiation doesn't harm food, it is used to sterilize it for irradiated tetrapack stuffs.
the main problem is the fallout contamination.
That is prevented by not exposing your food and clothing and pets and self to the fallout. (hence plastic)

Fallout is dangerous because it sticks you and is ingested by you and irradiates you, and a lot of the radioactive compounds are poisonous in their own right.

280 NRO, living in the DC - NY bubble, can't see reality.

People are lined up around the block to listen to Trump. He's going to win by a landslide.

Has Trump thought all the issues, from education to national defense through? Fuck no. Not even close.

Is there some underlying principle that Trump will follow on all issues, so discerning what Trump will do is easy? Fuck no. Trump's a wild card who can swing any which way on every issue.

So, if it's inevitable that he's going to be elected and he doesn't have a set-in-stone policy on every issue, where is he going to turn when he takes office?

Well, not to NRO or any of their cronies.

It's time to establish some sort of institution (cyber) where innovative policy solutions can be worked out and ready for implementation. That way, the temptation to use the same assholes who have fucked up the country for decades will be lessened.

Problem is, the voters don't believe you're telling the truth NR.

And why would that be? Because you've lied so much before.

And the elite has made it their hobby to disrespect Trump voters.

I can understand they have their opinions about Trump and some are certainly valid from their point of view.

But they've taken great pains over a number of months and various writers to tell those who like Trump that are idiots and dupes and stupid and childish and ignorant and and and ...

That's what's turned me off to NR. They're not attacking just the candidate, they're attacking me and others and we're not going to take that.

On top of the fact that we don't believe NR.

I was thinking today that it's maybe about time we put someone in as President that wasn't either a lawyer or was part of government before being President.

I looked back and there hasn't been anybody elected to the Presidency (except GW Bush but I think because his whole family is lawyers or Government (GHWB was in the CIA) he doesn't count) that wasn't previous part of Government or a lawyer. Next previous was Hoover a mining engineer.

Majority of our Presidents have been Lawyers.

346 OK, serious question. I'm hoping to hear from the staunch anti-Trump types on this.

What is the plan for the mainstream Right to deal with the sentiments espoused by much of Trump's support--the nationalistic impulse (stricter immigration controls, reworking trade to keep American jobs, etc.)? Is the "America First" sentiment something that can be redirected, in your opinion?

I'm dead serious here because I'd like to think there was a way to tap this very legitimate sentiment in a productive manner.

Yes the liberal is exposing phony conservatives. Sounds legit to me. Btw it's spelled fuck you and it doesn't offend me. What else would you expect from a Trump supporter lol.

348 oh for god's sake. this sneering contempt for anyone with a college degree has got to stop.

It's not the college degree. It's the Ivy League mindset.

349 I don't have enough money to buy a politician.

My opinion and a quarter is worth a quarter.

They won't listen to me, or the majority of us.

They're only concerned when the cats (that's us) become harder to herd.

Now we are moving into the hectoring and lecturing portion of the election cycle, a little sooner than they'd like. Usually, they get their GOPe stamped candidate, and then tell the rubes about how this is a pivotal moment in history, and fall in line, and fuck you.

This time the concern seems to be that not only will they not get "their" preferred candidate, but that they might win with the wrong one, and thus damage the shiny lustrous brand that is the Party.

I'm powerless. An audience member screaming at the screen of an already made movie. So are most of us, and all the name calling is getting silly.

350 Interestingly enough, Trump supporters don't much dis those who support Cruz.

But the opposite isn't true.

A lot more ad hominems and making claims that voting for Trump will be the end of the world and we're stupid for not seeing that.

I pretty much ignore arguments that wind up telling me how I'm a mouth breathing idiot.

And so do most people.

So those of you doing so here should maybe reconsider how you're doing this or consider why you're doing that and perhaps wonder why you're actually destroying your own argument by doing so.

351 Still haven't heard an anecdote from anyone claiming Cruz is nasty person or treats people with rudeness and condescension. There should be a lot of specific sorties out there if he is so bad.

352 Oddly enough, Frum was very good over Canada's recent federal election unlike a bunch of elites who wanted the evil Stephen Harper defeated to save conservatism in the future.

353 Rather than a special Against Trump - I would have preferred a For Cruz.

That's hilarious. Geraghty hates Cruz as much as he hates Trump, and he's about as close to reasonable as NR gets.

But yes, we can dream.

Well for your information, Ace a while back asked folks to lighten up on the eff bombs and to try writing them misspelled so they wouldn't trigger bots reading the pages.

So again someone resorting to dissing me for THEM being ignorant of all the facts.

Thanks for proving youself to be an unthinking reactionary.

355 And a (relatively) new commenter here shitting on an old hand, Bitter.

356 Donald HOPE & CHANGE for President: "I am awesome" and "No more bad deals, I will do good deals" sounds a lot like OBAMA "Hope and Change" in 2008. Trump's liberal leanings match OBAMA's too.
