Speaking of refugees, just heard that last week DHS dumped *1000* unaccompanied minors, en masse, in Littleton, CO. They will be living in some federal facility turned mass orphanage. The will be somehow have to be integrated into the state's smallest school district - no doubt ill-prepared to deal with these stressed out, Spanish-speaking, culturally foreign kids. And this is supposed to be "caring" for the children? What a mess!!

A professor of philosophy at the University of Notre Dame published an op-ed in The New York Times linking lenient gun laws in America to racism.
Prof. Gary Gutting argued permissive gun laws are a manifestation of racism and invoked hatred of racism as a motivation for the gun control movement. According to Gutting, high exposure to guns in largely poor black neighborhoods along with low restrictions on gun ownership permeates a culture of racism. So he is proposing we not allow gun sales to Blacks? Posted by: Nevergiveup at January 06, 2016 09:23 AM (DUoqb) 41

From DM Cologne story
'Michelle told N-TV: 'There were 11 of us together at the time. 'At around 11pm we were at the main train station and wanted to travel on to see the fireworks, and that was when we first noticed all these men standing around. 'We managed to go into the cathedral and wanted to go past the Museum Ludwig to join everyone and watch the fireworks by the river, but suddenly we were surrounded by a group of between 20 and 30 men.' Sensing danger, she and her friends then grabbed each other and started holding hands. 'They were full of anger, and we had to make sure that none of us were pulled away by them. They were groping us and we were trying to get away as quickly as possible.' As they fled and were groped, the men also took the opportunity to rob objects from their pockets, stealing mobile telephones as the teenage girls fled.' Exactly so. Some here will recall my occasional ramblings on this back when I was dealing with the Fairfax (VA) system - so many of the "facts" we were given about the poor dears were nowhere near "facts" - most were older than claimed, many showed up for a few days and never again, while others played the various systems and went place to place picking up food, supplies, etc... Almost worked out for us, though, when one showed up for baseball practice one spring. Trouble was we never could confirm age/location/etc., and he tended to show up at the first few practices a bit, well, loaded. Probably wound up playing in the Dominican league... After North Korea announced on Wednesday that it had successfully tested a miniaturized hydrogen nuclear bomb, National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz linked the test to Israels suspicions regarding the Iranian nuclear program. The test reminds us all that the most important mission is to prevent a similar thing from taking place in Iran: a nuclear agreement first and nuclear weapons later. Steinitz said that North Korea does not only threaten nations in the Far East, noting that in the past it had transferred nuclear technology to Syria and apparently to Iran as well. Israel and the US should increase intelligence sharing in order to ensure that Iran is not breaching its nuclear agreement through involvement in North Koreas nuclear project, Steinitz said. In July of last year world powers adopted a final, comprehensive agreement with Iran that will govern its nuclear program for over a decade. In 1994, North Korea signed a nuclear agreement with the US, under the administration of former US president Bill Clinton. He said at the time that the deal meant North Korea will freeze and then dismantle its nuclear program. South Korea and our other allies will be better protected. The entire world will be safer as we slow the spread of nuclear weapons. Clinton said that the United States and international inspectors will carefully monitor North Korea to make sure it keeps its commitments. Only as it does so will North Korea fully join the community of nations. Sound familiar? Sigh Posted by: Nevergiveup at January 06, 2016 09:35 AM (DUoqb) 74

Mexico let them come here, so any non-Mexicans are their problem to deal with, not ours. Posted by: despair at January 06, 2016 09:37 AM (VrdxH) 83
Since I didn't click on any headlines yesterday, today I decided to click through on all of them.
• Refuge problem: that was too short to have bothered. Kept thinking maybe there was more I was missing, but I didn't find it. • Hidden Message: PJ Media apparently requires javascript to read an article. I saw a blank page. Won't be clicking on their site anymore. • Establishment Rubio: Nat'l Review, ditto for PJ Media. It's one thing to require javascript for some things, but for any content at all? F' em. • Fact Checkers: Seems to be mostly tweets of people disparaging fact checkers rather than what was wrong. I might be missing something. Tweets don't fully flesh out without javascript. • Cologne Mayor: My suggested code of conduct for women in muslimoid-infested areas is concealed carry and lots of training. • Nork H-Bomb: Bad link. But, yeah, read about it last night. • Minnesota's Sunday Game: Okay, didn't actually click. Already read about it, though. • One Paycheck Away: Well, knew about this also already, so didn't click. • Apple: Don't care. Didn't click. Well, I tried, BenK, I really tried. Did Vic post news this morning? Gonna go check. BBL. Interesting article linked on Indy's site this morning (from PJ Media, sorry for those who don't like them), about the stealth Islamization going on in our public schools, courtesy of Common Core.
Did you know that Pearson Education, a publishing giant that dominates Common Core, is owned by the Libyan Investment Authority? Or that Common Core originated from a project called "One World Education" that was funded by the Islamic Qatar Foundation International? Did you know that the World History textbook used in Common Core devotes 32 pages to Islam, and omits much of American political and military history? You may have seen the reports recently about Minnesota school kids who were taught to sing a song that included the phrase "allahu ackbar." The CBS report told viewers that the phrase simply means "God is great." In fact, the phrase means "Allah is supreme." I wonder what the kids were told? Did they know that they were acknowledging Islamic supremacy in their song? Are they taught that Muslims believe that they are superior to Christians and Jews and other non-Muslims? That Muslims have both the right and the duty to subjugate and even kill non-Muslims? What is going on in our public schools in insane. And the fact that we are not only allowing it to happen, but letting our own government fund it with our money, is even more insane. Posted by: TrivialPursuer at January 06, 2016 09:53 AM (a31sM) 133

North Koreas claim to have detonated a hydrogen bomb on Wednesday may cause major new problems for Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
As Secretary of State in President Barack Obamas first term, Clinton led a policy that sought new outlets for talks with North Korea while promising to speak out forcefully against the regime. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, traveled personally to North Korea to free U.S. journalists in 2009. In 2007, then-candidate Obama had promised to meet with North Korean leaders, among others, without preconditions, saying that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this [Bush] administration is ridiculous. In his campaign manifesto, Obama went further, promising to eliminate North Koreas nuclear weapons program through diplomacy. In his 2010 State of the Union address, delivered while Hillary Clinton was in charge of his administrations foreign policy, Obama boasted that he was succeeding in diplomacy with North Korea, as well as with Iran that his diplomatic efforts had strengthened our hand in dealing with those nations that insist on violating international agreements in pursuit of nuclear weapons. He repeated the claim in his 2011 State of the Union Address, stating that his administration continued to insist that North Korea keeps its commitment to abandon nuclear weapons. Well, for one, Trump didn't asked for money and votes promising to oppose amnesty just to turn around and immediately sponsor and push the most outrageous amnesty law ever proposed. Many people see Germans as awesome warriors. The Prussian military history suggests that but that's not the German populace, which is docile and easily led.
Their history of behavior is quite different. They ho-hummed at the Kaiser's bellicose. They ho-hummed at the rise of Nazism and Hitler's coup. They ho-hummed as their Jewish neighbors lost freedom, property, dignity, and then started to disappear. They ho-hummed as camps spewed forth the stink of burning people. They ho-hummed as a wall was erected and people were shot trying to leave. Now they ho-hum at abuses inflicted on them from government invited masses. They will never put their populace feet down and say, Enough! They.will never push back against whatever crappy government they have. It's just not in their collective history. Griffey Jr., Piazza, Sheffield, Schilling are up for the first time (I think). Schill won't get in, but I'm curious what his vote total will be. Also some guys who still have a slim chance of making it, but are running out of time, Bagwell, Trammel, Edgar Martinez.

When I register my kids, we have to show birth certificates, proof of legal residency, shot records, and transcripts if they are changing schools. If we don't, my kids aren't allowed to enroll or go to that school. But the illegal kids don't have to show anything, and they aren't given the slightest impediment to attending. Posted by: Azenogoth (Freedom or Fire) at January 06, 2016 10:16 AM (4nmNX) Snarky answer is that pets ride free. Actual answer is probably closer to that libs and progs are fully aware of the damage and disaster they cause by their selfish, self indulgent and greedy ways, and they are compounding it by trying to buy salvation on your money and blood. And since they know better, it is in your best interest for them to buy your salvation that way too. And if you are harmed you deserved it as a punishment for objecting because it only works if everyone applauds and believes. So remember to tell those that are raped and murdered by refugees that they are suffering for the sins of the like of Angela Merkel and Barack Obama, and they should be proud of that distinction. "If Marco Rubio Is The 'Establishment', Then 'Establishment' Has Lost All Meaning" Consider that the late Yasser Arafat perfected the trick of giving interviews about Israel in English in the morning, and then giving interviews about Israel in Arabic in the afternoon which said something completely different. Rubio's version of this schtick is to give interviews about amnesty to the English-speaking alphabet networks in the morning, and then give interviews about amnesty to the Spanish-speaking networks in the afternoon which say something completely different. And if they're not required to have them, I'd be more than pissed if my kid caught some crazy disease. It's a "requirement." I brought this up to our (past) PTA president when I was wondering how many unaccompanied minors were being put in our school. I said I was wondering how the vaccination requirements were being handled, since there are no records. Her response, honest to God was "Well, you shouldn't have a problem if your child is vaccinated. He won't catch anything. But the medical facilities in their home countries are just as good as ours and they are getting vaccinations thanks to the UN and other organizations." Sigh. "Well, the district bused our son across two highways to get him to that
school. We didn't realize how crappy it was because it is a 'recommended' campus (a Texas thing based on test scores)." Texas, under George W. Bush, was one of the first states to begin testing along the lines of what later evolved nationally into NCLB. All that this did was to give TX educrats an early leg up in figuring out how to cynically game the system, the same way that educrats everywhere always do. Some may recall that Dubya picked Rod Paige as Secretary of Education, based on the supposedly brilliant turnaround in the Houston schools which Paige had overseen during the new testing regime. It then later came out that there had been a truly massive and systematic pencil-whipping of those test results by the Houston ISD to include outright fraud.
