Former SJW "Stupid White Knight" Explains How He Came to Understand That Feminism and Social Justice Warrioring Were Nothing But

He talks about "deconverting" from SJWism, which makes it sound like a cult, which is... accurate.

"Their communities thrive on self-loathing disguised as elitism."

I don't know what that means, exactly, but the rest of it pretty much confirms all of your beliefs about this bitter cult of insecure hysterics.

23 The "SJWs" are just the latest iteration of the Far Left Control Freak Invasion of Institutions, aka The Long march Through The Institutions.

Mind you I think it's spinning out of control, which is actually a good thing. I *hope* they keep eating their own, but they're still dangerous as all get-out.

Especially since they have the White House (though interestingly he's spoken directly against them, this end-product of campus radicalism).

26 And Eric Hoffer is proven right, yet again. People coming from positions of friendlessness, outcasts, losers and people who can't or won't fit within one standard deviation gravitate toward movements like these.

They can't make anything of themselves, and hate themselves for it, so they bury their old, spoiled identities and put up this giant altar in their minds, to whatever their new cause is. Islam, SJW-ism, environmentalism, racial hatred, whatever-- it all fits into the same mental socket, and for the same reason.

A lot of these are actually more "old school" and not as wild-eyed as the campus models. You may not even notice it unless there's an issue they happen to be pushing.

I worked with a lot of state and county offices that were kind of like "Mild SJW Old Boy Networks." Sounds odd but liberals love their patronage and nepotism as much as anyone else.

California. I would *guess* Massachusetts would be a bit more "old boy" and union and CA has been a lot hippie.

Some of the offices were actually very objectively good, even with hippies all over, because the people running them were lefties but not SJWs. CA is a real mixed bag.

I'd say MA has a higher percentage of "collectivist hippies" from my limited experience, and CA more "libertarian hippies" who are kind of culturally liberal, from extensive experience.

It is that, unless you are getting limbic rushes like from drugs, eventually a thinking person starts to wonder if punching himself in the balls for a cookie is worth the FREAKIN' PAIN FROM PUNCHING HIMSELF IN THE BALLS

Of course, the non-thinking just do the whole [desire cookie] -/> [ow my balls] and repeat, while looking for a scapegoat for orchidal pain and funny walking.

I should say that it's not the outsider-ness that does it, according to Hoffer; it's the deep-seated feeling of your own worthlessness that drives people to things like that.

If you're a loner, but you like where you are, collectivism offers you nothing, because you're in a good place mentally. It's the inescapable feeling that "I need to shitcan this and start over" that'll make you a Stalinist

94 I should say that it's not the outsider-ness that
does it, according to Hoffer; it's the deep-seated feeling of your own
worthlessness that drives people to things like that.

If you're a loner, but you like where you are, collectivism offers
you nothing, because you're in a good place mentally. It's the
inescapable feeling that "I need to shitcan this and start over" that'll
make you a Stalinist

Posted by: Secundus at January 01, 2016 06:14 PM (gn6ig)

That makes sense, but I still see irony in the idea, because 'starting over' is impossible in a true collective; they're inherently static because, if everyone's the same, there's no invention, no new thought, no change of any kind. Odd how conservatives have become the dynamic side of the political spectrum, whereas the liberals are often the static ones. Global warming hysteria, anyone?

Agreed. Trouble is, SJW-ism isn't a true collective; it's a grouping of like-minded individuals who are primarily driven by emotions-- Offense, envy, thirst for revenge for said offense, and desire for power.

That, I think, is why we see these increasingly petty gripes-- "microagressions" and such. An emotion driven movement can't simply accomplish its goals and say, "We win! Great job, everyone! Bye!". They have to constantly find (or invent) new targets to direct the swarm at.

It just depends on the individual matchups, injuries and performances

227 A couple of thousand years ago we started on this journey that resulted in the US, where each individual is equal under the law and guaranteed the same rights (of course we did not actually distribute these rights evenly at the time--but we fixed most of that). In the process, we created the most free, most prosperous, and most powerful nation in the history of the earth while simultaneously solving many of the world's greatest problems. And then we stopped believing in freedom. Rather that militate for greater freedom for all, the SJW has been suckered into neo-Marxist bullshit where power is derived through group membership.
