Once it becomes apparent that a non establishment approved Candidate is going to get the nomination, the reaction by the party leadership will determine the party's outcome.
If they throw every roadblock in the way of the nominee, I believe the national party will disolve before the election takes place.
Trying to broker the convention when there is a clear nominee will kill the GOP.
And just for the record, I believe Trump will be the nominee.
He has what it takes to win. Cruz comes close but not close enough.

I'm no seer, but it's getting harder to deny that Trump isn't going to pull this off. His numbers have never waned, his crowds are yuuuge and if recent reports are to be believed, he's starting to siphon supporters from the #1 Dem stronghold, the AA community. IF that's really true, Hillary is in for some trouble. I'm uneasy with what a President Trump would actually do, but it's hard to deny he's not taking a bulldozer to this entire process, and I'm loving every minute of it.

That 12 y.o. kid was as big as a lot of adults, he was carrying a realistic looking pellet pistol in his waste band. He was ordered several times to "show us your hands. Instead he reached down and grabbed that pistol and pointed it at the cop was again ordered to drop. After that he was ventilated. The grand jury returned a "no-bill" on the cops.

I saw that the prosecutor was blaming the gun industry, saying that the manufacturer of toy guns need to make it clear that they are toys via design cues and all of that.
First, a pellet gun IS NOT A TOY.
Second, I'm more apt to blame parenting that let that kid out there playing with a pellet gun over the designers of the pellet gun.
Third, as you say Vic, if a policeman is pointing a gun at you and telling you to drop it, you really need to follow directions. The police aren't like your absentee father who doesn't give a damn what you do or don't do....

A Drawing Room Mystery would seem to be a good fit for Tarantino given his ability to write interesting/fun/humorous dialogue but....

It's his worst dialogue since the first half of "Death Proof"....only stretched out for 3 hours.
The form of the Drawing Room Mystery remains, up to and including-

Samuel L Jackson channeling Miss "MuthaFucka" Marple for an explanation of the murders with all the suspect in the same room.
And seems to end the whole thing with a weird call for the dawn of a new age where all men of good will and character gather together...to serially abuse nasty-ass, mouthy, white bitches, I guess.
Perhaps Tarantino longs for the caliphate. I don't know.

Anyway, the whole thing is a weird cobbled together Frankenstein of Blood and Boredom.
"The Hateful Eight" could easily easily have an hour to an one and a half cut out of it, and still get everything done in a much better manner.

Yeah, that. This movie is "The Happening" bad.

From a "street" perspective, I once spoke at length with a career criminal in jail about that. His opinion, FWIW, was that many are crack babies, grown up with little impulse control and typically using drugs of their own choice. He thought of them as the most violent and that it was the responsibility of the.... erm, street community? to 'take them out' for simple self-protection since the police wouldn't do it.

What I found fascinating is that he knew, on a level we could not, what the background of many of these violent offenders were. And make no mistake, he himself was a violent felon who, were we on the street, would have assaulted or robbed me at the drop of a hat. And he hated *them* more, thought they were a blight on the community.

I was never really big on celebrating on NYE-mainly because to go out costs too much money and I'm not a big drinker. Many of the churches I have served have a pot luck dinner followed by a worship service and it's also over by about 8;30 or so. It's very nice. This church is not having that. This year I am going to an 11:00 prayer and holy communion service at another church followed by (non alcoholic) refreshments which seems a good way to end the year.

The Rum-Forward Painkiller
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice
1 oz. orange juice
1 oz. coconut creme (Coco Lopez preferred)
1 1/2 oz. Pusser's Navy Rum
Shake vigorously with ice, pour into a tall glass (zombie or pilsener) and sprinkle with fresh-ground nutmeg.

I get an email from the Trump campaign about twice a week. It just tells me where the rallies will be or if there's a new position paper out. It does not beg me for money, but does tell me I can buy a Make America Great ball cap. It's a refreshing change. I did get one email asking people to volunteer for the campaign.

When I was a wee tad, we moved to New Orleans.
About two streets over, there lived a mafia guy. Probably, not very high on the totem pole but high enough.
A house one street over got burgled in a big way. TV stolen, etc, etc.
The two days later, the owners of that house awoke to find their stolen items on their front door step.
And that was all that anyone ever heard about the robbery.
Not that those guys are great guys or anything but they do tend to take any crime in "their" neighborhoods rather personally.

Pretty much I think that those we thought might be conservative or conservative light like Gowdy will line up with the Rubio/Ryan gang. Paul Ryan intends to run for President after this election and he is lining up his team.
The new GOPe will be like the old GOPe, only younger. Nothing changes and mostly the support for Obama's agenda in the Omnibus will continue.
Good people like Sessions who apparently reads or is informed about legislation and cares about the constitution, the rule of law and the country and want to prevent this insane invasion by illegals, guest workers, visa seekers of all stripes, will stand virtually alone. I don't know where Cruz will end up.
The Speakers blog is a bunch of Ryan vanity postings. I hope Trump does to Rubio/Ryan what he's been doing to all the opposition. If he gets the chance. 2 cents.

yeah, but it will play with the non progressive. The hard core left are a lost cause. And some that don't usually vote may be angry enough about Hillary the "protector of rapist", that they go out and vote Trump.
And there are the union states that like the America First chant better than the globalist vision of outsourcing all production, or importing cheap labor. They are blue collar and if on the fence, this issue helps.
And even some progressives imo, see the problems with the open borders crowd. But it is never about winning the hard core from the other side. The left has been winning by being especially vile/bold toward traditional America ... racists, bigots, sexist, etc. They embrace hate of the core on the other side.
