26 5 Jerry Lewis: Refugees should stay the hell where they are.
_______________

Somebody (may have been Jeff Sessions) pointed out that for every one ME refugee we bring here, we could pay to shelter 12 in camps closer to their own homeland.

It's insane to bring them here. Most of them don't speak English or have job skills, which means the vast majority will end up being welfare-dependent for life. At a time when we have record-high numbers of Americans out of work, record-high numbers of people on food stamps, welfare, and disability rolls, and record-high levels of public debt, why are we bringing in hundred of thousands more welfare-dependent "refugees" every year -- especially when we could help 12x as many if we just provided aid to help them have shelter closer to their own homelands?

Or, we could simply let the countries responsible for the "refugee" flood carry the load. With, maybe, financial assistance from the super-wealthy Arab nations that sit back and rake in the dough while we support their Muzzie "brothers."

I know: that's cruel and unfeeling and inhumane of me. Tough.

Not saying -- and never would say -- that people who want to alleviate the suffering of their Fellow Man shouldn't do so. I do believe in charity.

What I do not believe in is allowing Choom Boy and all the well-paid do-gooders in D.C. reach into our wallets to pay for this.

.While we were at the Star Wars movie on Christmas day waiting in line for popcorn I overheard two youngish hipster cool kid types talking about the refugees they were bringing here to Kentucky next month.

One went to great lengths to explain to his girlfriend that most were able bodied intelligent young men who were willing to work and who were bringing much needed valuable skills to the area. He went on at length about how he could not understand why no one wanted them here, blah, etc.

I used all of my will power to not engage them in conversation and did not spoil the day for my wife.

Of course I was the one in a movie theater one time with some friends who mentioned, before the movie started, that teachers were overpaid. Of course the ladies in front of me were teachers. Yes, Drudge had a link to that story up yesterday or the day before.

More of Obama's legacy of "successful" foreign policy. The thousands of American lives sacrificed there since 9/11, the hundreds of billions of American dollars spent there (in the war that Obama called "the just war") -- all pissed away.

Just as soon as Obama reads the papers. . .

Just as soon as Obama gets his next intelligence briefing.

Just as soon as Obama hears about this, boy will he be working hard to see to it that congressional committees investigation this get full co-operation from his administration to find out who authorized the NSA to spy on Americans. You just watch. Obama will find the person responsible. It's probably Bush.

84 Tim, I really think the comparison to Chile is apt. Someone at NRO yesterday wrote an article arguing that the US has not become mor liberal, but that it has become more polarized. That is, more liberal AND more conservative, more secular AND more religious.

That is exactly how Chilean democracy ended in 1970 after more than 100 years of consistent, stable, constitutional order.

If he had continued on the path of his first two years, he wouldn't be considered the same way. But after the 94 election defeat of the Democrats in Congress, he was reined in. From there he mainly governed center-left. No big programs. Congress actually forced him to sign welfare reform. There was a stable tax policy and spending was kept in decent check. As a president, he wasn't bad by Democrat standards. Personally the man is a vile, lecherous slime.

No, I don't think that is it. Plus what you call boobs and flattery is more along the lines of appreciation for good service and a nice atmosphere which can make a dinner more enjoyable.

I was best man for a friend. At the dinner for the bachelor party it came time to pay the check. Guys were throwing money at me. One guy even offered to pay my bill for organizing everything (I declined.) The waitress received a nice tip. I don't think it was showing off but more everyone wanting to make sure they contributed to the happenings. And these were accountants and computer geeks, so math wasn't an issue.

172 No, I don't think that is it. Plus what you call boobs and flattery is more along the lines of appreciation for good service and a nice atmosphere which can make a dinner more enjoyable.

Which is why my waitressing friend often wore what she called 'her money shorts'. Because it was all about good service : )

At the dinner for the bachelor party it came time to pay the check. Guys were throwing money at me.

I don't have any issues with most of the people I go out with, although maybe when we were younger? I think everyone now is more secure in their funds. But I do remember a guy I worked with shoving WAY more than I needed for cab fare at me on multiple occasions (even as I tried to explain I was going to make a profit off this). It's not math, but it is something...

182 Quite frankly I think saying that Obama spying on Congress and blackmailing them is giving Congress too much credit. I think the RNC and most of the Republican "Representatives" are of the opinion that Jon Huntsman and Colin Powell should be the middle ground of the GOP.

They really hate having to pander to all us stupid hicks that actually want them to reduce the size and scope of government and to actually keep their promises and follow the current party platform they are supposed to support.

Telling point. I am constantly reminded of one Orwell quote: "In times of universal deceit, telling the Truth becomes a revolutionary act."

It's no wonder whistleblowers, and those like the families of those who died at Benghazi and who can speak with both the moral superiority of being the bereaved but also 'ear'witnesses, are ignored. The Truth is just too volatile in these Social Justice Wanker days. But when Reality will no longer be ignored and the Truth comes crashing down thanks to this Administration cooking the books in every department and the Fellatio Media obligingly going along in their reporting, it will not be pretty. But even then, I believe the Mocha Messiah's 'Get Out Of Blame Free' card will still apply.

Economics, rhetoric, The Constitution, so many important things our culture no longer teaches. So lies become brasher and more insistent, making them easier to sell to not just a badly informed populace, but a mal-informed populace. One cannot debate the enemy when an agreement cannot even be made on something so simple as The Facts as they are so used to believing and regurgitating lies they are told. One can see it, it's lock-step ideological talking points all the time, hashed out among government and media. One only has to look at some insider's account of San Bernardino, how the Administration's first thought was the P.R. assessment over national security concerns and its rote damage control mode. Barry, or Val Jar-Jar Binx or whomever, having intelligence reports cooked to downplay threats so Barry doesn't have to, you know, actually work and do his job.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for TIME to do a cover story on 'Is The Truth Dead?'
