Also, reposting this from the last thread since I was willowed.

So notice that the new Pew study on muslims doesn't ask American muslims if they believe in sharia law.

However a Center for Security Policy poll from June has that number at 51%. 14% either believe or won't say if they believe that Sharia should displace the constitution.

"nearly a quarter of the Muslims polled believed that, "It is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam by, for example, portraying the prophet Mohammed."

Nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the United States is justified in order to make shariah the law of the land in this country.

Roughly 300,000 Muslims living in the United States who believe that shariah is "The Muslim God Allah's law that Muslims must follow and impose worldwide by Jihad"

Well...now the entire school today will be converted into a mass Hate-Whitey Day in which kids don't have to go to class, and those who do will be subjected to 100% Black Revolutionary-style curriculum. Etc.:

The principle is encouraging all students to skip class and go on a Black Power Riot instead.

It is rather amazing, that such a shitty little religion could be so right for the times.

Honestly, as illogical as it may seem, I think it will be such a small jump for irreligious lefties to succumb to the charms of a belief system to archaic, so savage, if any of us is alive 100 years from now we wouldn't recognize this world.

113 BBC radio interviewed a Syrian who is in Lebanon now. He fled because he was one of the "moderates" fighting Assad. And he is pro ISIS and he says many of his childhood friends have joined ISIS. That to them, Assad is a bigger problem than ISIS.

This is what so many don't understand. There's a post on FB making the rounds purportedly by someone wounded in a terror attack saying, basically, "blaming all Mohammedans for terrorists is like blaming all Christians for the KKK," which is stupid on its face, but whatever.

The problem is that so many people think that a) the plural of "anecdote" must be "data" and b) that American Mohammedans are representative of Mohammedans world-wide. They aren't. In fact, if I recall the results of various surveys properly, they're about 180 degrees off of what Mohammedans world-wide believe. A majority of American Mohammedans completely reject terror (though not a big enough majority for my comfort), whereas a majority of Mohammedans world-wide accept or even actively support terror.

118 Looking at Breitbart's home page. Seeing ironies in the headlines including:

Shep Smith at Fox News says that Trump represents "the worst, darkest part of all that is America." Meanwhile his Boss Of All Bosses, Rubert Murdoch, is kind of on board with Trump's Muslim immigration moratorium.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, confidant of both the Obamans and the Clintons, is in trouble. Now this to me is Worst and Darkest: an organized effort to lie and cover-up an outrageous police shooting to win an election.

Defense Secretary Carter just testified that "we have not contained ISIS".

Pam Geller, sponsor of the Draw Mohammed contest and target of an ISIS-inspired assassination attempt ON AMERICAN SOIL, says that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the Obama Administration. I note that CAIR, the political arm of the Brotherhood, enjoys a 501 tax exemption.

Merkel is Time's Man of the Year. Let's see how letting in a million refugees works out for Germany.

LOL, back when I still played golf I had hit a perfect drive off the T-box down to the middle of the fairway around a tree that blocked a direct shot to the green from the t-box. I was about 75 - 80 yards to the green. Pulled out my trusty sand wedge and proceeded to skull the ball across the green and the road behind the green out of bounds.

Dropped a new ball and did the same thing again. That's when the loud oath and club flinging occurred. Club wound up in the top of a very tall pine tree and remained there until Hugo came through and blew the tree down.

In some ways, I think the commies were/are terribly naive.

If it must be said again, here it is: the modern radical Islam movement was in bed with the German nazis. They learned at their feet. Whereas modern American leftism learned at the feet of German commies.

Since both sides respond to raw power, I suspect the nazis, in their greater evil, will accumulate more raw power, and thus subsume the commies. Eventually. As they likely would have in WWII, had we (and the Brits and Canadicans and Aussies, of course) not been there to stop them.

162 The left approaches the Muzz issue deductively. They start out with the axiom: "All human beings are essentially the same". This to them is a beautiful thought. So if Muslims are angry and violent, they must have a legitimate reason to be angry and violent. If we treat them nicely they will behave like normal, decent people.

We approach the Muzz issue empirically. How have they behaved in the past? How do they behave now? What are the precise circumstances in play, when they commit this or that action?

The left takes something to be axiomatic that can only be determined by inspection.

And what's worse they confuse a moral virtue (always think the best of someone until proven otherwise) with their fake axiom (always think the best of group X no matter what they do). Hence they make willful blindness into a moral virtue. And since moral precepts are absolute, they are not willing to discuss or ever consider changing their position on the issue.

190 They really pulled the buck-hunting nun story just because of jerk comments? That's painful.

Glad it was still up on the link posted here.

When we moved back to rural OK from urban Chicago a bit over two decades ago, the tenant-neighbor's son-in-law came to me to talk about his deer management. I stopped him, gathered the city-bred kids around, and asked him to tell them all about it.

Where he had his blind, being a bow hunter, tracking down wounded-not-killed deer, keeping out the drunk hunters wandering in from neighboring ranches, necessity of keeping the deer population down, the whole thing. It was great and I was so glad the kids got the lecture as soon as we got here.

Been thinking I ought to ask him to go through it again, for a video.

That's just the point, though. They don't *have* any sacred beliefs. They certainly don't respect women, however much they may claim otherwise. When the whole of your world view comes down to "what's good for me?" it's really easy to accept Mohammedanism and Sharia when the other option is death or slavery.

It dawned on me that I have been waiting 7 days for a mail order prescription. So I log in to the rx insurance site and check the tracking. The packages went from my metro area on the east coast on Dec 4, disappeared for 4 days, and showed up yesterday at Chicago. So last night I left complaints at both the rx insurance site and USPS.
Local post office person calls me this morning. As far as she can tell there is something wrong with the "address encoding" on the package (maybe the bar code) and she's very sorry but can't really say when it will get here.
Rx insurance, nothing yet. I call them, yell at the voice response menu until I finally get a completely clueless accented customer rep. Basically I am going to get the rx at my local pharmacy for now, wait until next week for the missing one to show up or else call them again. No apologies for whatever they did to screw it up, just a lot of stammering.
Basically Post Office has better customer service than my rx insurance.

Posted by: votermom at December 09, 2015 12:17 PM (cbfNE)

It should be noted that there is quite a large Iranian Muslim community in the Houston area. This group goes back to the late 1970s, where I first encountered them, when they were mainly college students. I stumbled across a hundred or so of them holding a political meeting just off the University of Houston campus. It was interesting to note that at the house where they were, two photographs in matching frames hung on the wall facing the door. One was of Vladimir Lenin, the other was of the Ayatollah Khomeini.

Not long after this, Iran had it's little revolution, the Shah is overthrown, and Khomeini takes over, thanks in no small measure to the Iranian Communist Party (the "Tudeh Party" it was called).

Come to find out, most of these Muslim revolutionaries, who were studying here on the Shah's dime, never went home. They are still here. Why, you may ask.

Well, it seems that right after Khomeini took power in Iran, he had all the Communists rounded up and thrown off a cliff...literally. An interesting twist, I thought...

259 All the Conventional Wisdom, on both sides, says that Trump is not likely to win the nomination and it is virtually impossible that he would win the general election. I say it's time to put up or shut up. I'm willing to bet real American money that Donald Trump is our next president. And keep in mind that I am approaching this from a pure gambling standpoint.

Reasons:

1) Only Cruz is within striking distance in Iowa and Trump is way ahead in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Clearly, the nomination is Trump's to win or lose. The Conventional Wisdom keeps repeating the same note, that Trump will eventually, inevitably screw up and someone else will ride in and claim the nomination. The massive problem with this theory is that it has so far been wrong 100% of the time. If you are willing to wager your hard-earned dollars on the idea that this wish will finally come true, then I will most definitely take your action.

2) Hillary Clinton will never be able to generate the enthusiasm on the margins that elected Obama. It's never going to happen. The Democrat machine that generated massive turnout for Obama will not be able to repeat the same success. Obama has stolen the "Let's elect the first-ever [blank] president!" thunder. The only people who are super-duper excited to vote for Hillary are middle-aged white ladies. "It's our turn! It's our turn!," they wail, full of their white privilege. Hillary is a terrible campaigner who cannot make a case for her own candidacy other than the fact that she owns a vagina. That Dem +8 turnout advantage is not going to occur. Again, if you have evidence otherwise and are confident in your prediction, please step up and place your bets.

This is not about being for or against Trump. It's just about reality. You might want your team to win on Sunday, and might have lots of good reasons, but there's a reason why the other team is -17.5. Wishing doesn't make that go away.

261 @229...ha. I am not keen on pantyhose, either. But, like Queen Elizabeth's decree with the Duchess and all who are female and royal (and maybe Prince Chuck Ears), thou shalt wear panty hose. This is one of the reason's Catherine's legs look so fabulous...not that they are not fabulous on their own. However, after a "certain age" we need them under dresses as the flower hath bloomed.

I mean, take a gander at some of the older movie star's legs on Daily Mail. Some are riddled with age spots and scars from having pre or cancerous spots frozen. Wrinkled knees. The entire enchilada. Maxi skirts, however, with a Spanx holding it together, bravo (due to opened toed shoes and all). bah. Men have no freaking idea how hard it is to be a woman.

Men, going to couch to watch TV, Bass and Pro Shop, or wedding: get out of bed, scratch things, maybe/maybe not shower and shave. Get into daily wear of sweats, jeans or nice pants wife put out for them. Appropriate shirt and/or jacket. Boom! Done!

I am sure whatever you wear you will look lovely and radiant as only brides can. xoxo

Since both sides respond to raw power, I suspect
the nazis, in their greater evil, will accumulate more raw power, and
thus subsume the commies. Eventually. As they likely would have in
WWII, had we (and the Brits and Canadicans and Aussies, of course)
not been there to stop them.

Posted by: BurtTC at December 09, 2015 12:21 PM (Dj0WE)

I think the Commies pose(d) the greater threat, since they were buttressed by ideology, and hence would propagate in time, long after a particular dictator had died.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at December 09, 2015 12:45 PM (oKE6c)

The Communists were committed to spread of that ideology in cellular form, with other nations nurturing their own revolutions, as opposed to the Nazis wanting it all under one roof. So, to use a fast food metaphor, Nazism is murder on the corporate ownership model, Communism is murder by franchise ownership.

Actually, I'm not sure it's accurate to say that the Nazis were the greater evil, given that Communism has killed at least ten times the number of people that fascism in all it's forms has.

Not that it matters, because they're both just different flavors of socialism.

290 Yeah Oak Island could very well be a complex hoax with teens seeing mysterious lights and finding that old oak. And the pirates never coming back to shoot the kids. Or maybe the mysterious lights were the Knights Templar removing the hidden treasures and for these past centuries everyone has been drilling an empty hole.

Posted by: Anna Puma at December 09, 2015 01:04 PM (WXMJz)

291 @259 I agree with Brewdog. I'm writing the following strictly as a would-be bookie:

1) It's wishful thinking that Trump is capped at 35% among Republican primary voters. A clear majority of these voters want an outsider. In any case, even at 35% Trump is poised to easily win all the early primaries outside of Iowa. He'll beat both Rubio and Bush handily in their home state of Florida.

2) If #1 happens, the Establishment can still play games going into the Convention to deny Trump. But if they do a huge swath of Republicans will stay home in November 2016. The Republicans will get killed all down their tickets.

3) There will be more Holy Sh*t Headlines with Bad News. My over/under for Muslim domestic terrorist incidents between now and next November is three. What's yours? Europe has even more risk.

4) Hillary is an awful candidate, even without the baggage. She couldn't even get through a George Stephanopolous interview. The likes of Cruz and Fiorina can bloody Hillary -- but Trump will savage her.

One Thanksgiving, when all the relatives were over, my oldest brother put a flip-flop in my sister's Easy Bake. Smelled like a tire fire. My Dad (who already had a few drinks) went nuts trying to open it. He refused to listen to me, telling him he had to wait for it to cool. He dam near tore it apart and still couldn't open it. Finally, it went out on the front porch.

We had a lot of ruined Thanksgivings.

302 @291 Ignoramus -- Good points.

It just seems to me that the "it's inevitable that Trump will be gone" argument is predicated on two very shaky assumptions:

1) That there will be no more incidents like San Bernardino or the San Francisco murder by an illegal alien or Paris which will play directly into Trump's points.

2) That the non-Trump side will not be the side that screws up the most. They simply assume that Trump will screw up yuuuuuge and irreparably, and that the others will never fumble.
