12:08 pm -- Huge New Media Victory: 57% See Guns as Solution, Not a Problem This is a huge victory for New Media. Turn on your televisions. Open you newspapers. The full on, coordinated assault by the DC Media to strip Americans of our guns rights is coordinated and absolutely relentless. Nevertheless, through research and truth, New Media has cut through the media's lies and educated the American people to a point where this is where things stand now: -- Americans increasingly see guns as the solution, not the problem https://t.co/ECfGnmZlLdpic.twitter.com/Q3t9YXAj72 -- Aaron Blake (@AaronBlakeWP) December 3, 2015 Posted by: artisanal 'ette at December 03, 2015 12:26 PM (qCMvj) 2

Consider the recent news about one of the female applicants at NYFD.
She had been made a firefighter thanks to political and legal pressure despite her having repeatedly failed to pass the physical testing. It was an early morning go, landing at a forward operating base south of Tay Ninh during a difficult combat operation. (1967) There were numerous (40?) ponchos lined up beside the dirt runway tied at the head and feet. The air was very still and the humidity was very high. Flies by the thousands were circling and landing on the ponchos which contained bodies of dead American soldiers. They remained in the open for hours, and during one of our gunship attack missions they disappeared. Upon return, the flies were still landing on the ground where the bodies previously laid. This was disconcerting enough knowing the young men in the bags were American dead, but if they had been dead females, it would have been a much different situation. I am personally against any female being involved in any combat operation, and this primarily due to the images that remain in my head of men without heads, limbs, etc., or those lucky enough to still be alive but who suffered very traumatic injuries. Those advocating for this measure have never been involved in any combat routine, and if they had been combatants, they would never advocate for allowing any female to suffer the indignity of massive and debilitating wounds to advance someone's political agenda. I offer the shitshow of existing mixed-gender units for your inspection. Posted by: Burn the Witch at December 03, 2015 12:35 PM (Wckf4) Yeah. My girlfriends aunt was in the army. She had horror stories of how she was treated by the men in her unit. And by that, I mean they all hit on her. Including the guys who were married. The wives of the married men in her unit all hated her (because they all suspected their husbands of cheating on them with her). There was all kinds of drama. Oh, and apparently the army requires females to inject themselves in the thigh with hormonal birth control once a month so there is no chance of them getting pregnant. And yet, it still happens. Another friend of mine who was stationed in Afghanistan told me that several women over there were actually prostitutes. As in, were charging horny men $50 a pop to have sex. Of course, that caused alllll kinds of issues as well. It's not the fault of women, I just -- I don't know, I don't see how this does anything other than create huge headaches for the officers trying to deal with a bunch of horny 20 year old men and a handful of 20 year old women. He can do certain things that I cannot-among them, fighting on the front lines of a war. I think it is ludicrous to endanger a unit, much less my husband, with a social experiment to make people have happy feels. It's freaking war, not a damn office party. I want my loved one to come home alive, and I want the military to do everything in its power to make sure that happens. Saddling a unit with a less capable soldier, just because she has two X chromosomes, or is transgender, but is not combat ready, and can't pull her weight in battle is murderous to the whole group.

Doing all of the heavy work which her male leatherneck grunt counterparts were expected to do. Shirking nothing. The sheer wear and tear of it, and the brute force exertions required, ended up rendering her incapable of performing her duties, and she now has lasting damage to her health. She had plenty of warrior fire and esprit de corps. It's just that her body could not cope. And this was, again, a woman who was physically tough from the get-go. I'll find and post a link later. I got no problem with women doing any job.
If she's capable of doing the job. I know that too often in civilian jobs, women are put in place solely for the reason of upping diversity numbers and as a legal buffer to EEOC investigation. The bosses figure the other workers will cover for them. And they do. That attitude doesn't work for first responders or the military. Israel has female soldiers. No problems as such but I'm sure they don't/didn't let them cut corners or fudge the qualifications. But some women in this country have some kind sense of being owed a position by dint of their sex. And that gender doesn't mean anything as to qualifications. They're wrong. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That at December 03, 2015 12:52 PM (Xo1Rt) 179

I worked on a flight line for twenty years while a member of Uncle Sam's Aero Club. There were few women who survived out there. Most found a way off the line quickly, but a few did well. They were the exception, not the rule and some standards were changed to accommodate them. I cannot imagine what this will do to a front line infantry unit or even an artillery unit. In fact there are numerous jobs that the majority of women simply cannot do. What the he'll is wrong with these people. In the days of tight defense budgets, why are we gonna waste money on a social experiment that is bound to fail? Our nation's very existence is at stake here.

Reminds me of when the Marines changed the Physical Fitness Test requirements for women because they had it too easy. But then they had to change the men's too since it would have completely screwed the promotion rate for women.
Old requirements for men: 3mi run, pullups, crunches in 2mins. Old requirements for women: 1.5mi run, flexed arm hang (which, byt the way, is fvcking ridiculous), crunches in two minutes. New for men: 3mi run, dead-hang pull-ups (removed the old "kip" move that used to be allowed, making male scores drop significantly on average), crunches in two minutes. New for women: 3mi run, flexed arm hang, crunches in two minutes. The problem is that the scored times for the 3mi run were offset by 3 minutes for the women. For men, the allowable times were 18-28 mins. For women - 21-31 minutes. And why were women allowed to continue the flexed arm hang? Because the vast majority of women, even with training, cannot manage one dead hang pullup, let alone the 3 required for a man in order to just pass. HIV spreads well because it takes a long time to kill its host.
Ebola on the other hand tends to self-limit because it announces itself so dramatically and kills off the host too quickly. Bernie Sanders is Ebola. Obama and most Democrats are HIV. Which is more dangerous? Posted by: Ex NYC Peasant at December 03, 2015 01:09 PM (k8tEg) 196

Just like in the 90s when women were allowed to go to sea on ships, women will now have an even harder time advancing in the rate without combat experience. This happened during the Clinton years...if you wanted to advance in a highly competitive rate that included the possibility of sea time and you didn't want to go to sea (women with small children, for example), that counted against you when up for advancement. Those with certain awards and pins would get extra points and would advance to E-5, E-6 or chief over women with the same amount of time (or longer) in rank with better test scores or PT scores.
So get ready for women to not advance and to be stuck in lesser ranks for longer periods time. Equality! Posted by: K-E at December 03, 2015 01:12 PM (EdBH4) 198

So far three female officers have passed the Ranger course.
No female enlisted soldiers have been reported as passing. Was ever eligible female officer or enlisted soldier in the entire Army examined to get this result? Posted by: goatweed at December 03, 2015 01:24 PM (CBcnm) 200

Idiots. This HAS BEEN TRIED. IT DOES NOT WORK.
The Russians tried it (women on the front lines) in WW II. The Israelis tried it during the first Arab-Israeli war. In both cases they found it was a BAD idea. For one thing, women did not have the physical stamina needed. Second, it was really bad for morale overall, because like it or not, men tend to be protective of the women around them, and get emotionally attached to them. Doesn't mean they were banging them, either. Then when the females would get shot, blown up, captured and raped half to death (the Muslims were, of course, real big on this), it really FUBARed the men's morale on the front line. The whole concept was a disaster, and both the Russians and Israelis soon withdrew the women from frontline duty, and it has remained so ever since. And for a good goddam reason. But this is what happens when you have spoiled, none-to-bright children in charge. Think about it. Women in SUBMARINES? That is fucking insane. Ever been in a submarine? To say that "space is at a premium" is the wildest of understatements. I had an old submariner tell me years ago that "everything you say and do on a sub is said and done in front of the entire crew, because there is NO privacy". Even the newest subs we have today are little better in terms of room than the old WW II era submarines. I've been in one of those, and how they got 80 or 90 guys shoehorned into those things and sent them to sea for a couple of months without them all going batshit crazy I'll never know. Only in the Age of Obama... Posted by: The Oort Cloud - Source of all SMODs at December 03, 2015 01:40 PM (AYY6Y) 203

They don't want 'combat-ready' units, they want politically correct units. Under Obama, we have no intentions of fighting a real war, so what difference does it make?

My observation is that even the most dedicated and fit woman can struggle just on exercises for a long time let alone on ops. Make those ops mission orientated and if they (women) are in a teeth arms unit, most if not all will physically break down. Maybe one outstanding individual can hack it, but pretty much all the females cannot perform at the level required. Females can and do make excellent soliders in the correct role. Combat roles just are not one of them. The US infantry may now have a yuuuge problem. Fight back.

I'm for separate but equal armed forces. Let the women have their own Army, Navy, Air Force. Joint operations will be a Mardi Gras! The brass is counting on the men to take up the slack for the women, again. I remember the first woman Naval aviator the PC crowd crowed about - flew her multi-million dollar tax-payer owned jet into the front of an aircraft carrier -BOOM! Women and combat are for marriages, not wars.

OK. So, upon deployment, we shoot all the women - in the foot, or some such - and go on to fight the actual war.
