Jeb!and Rubio in aThunderdome-like fight for Establishment donor money? Strange, especially since Jeb! was bragging to insiders about the $125million campaign chest he hadwhen the campaign began. That war chest was supposed to be part of the Bush organization's shock-and-awe strategy, and now he's fighting with Rubio over the scraps. How did Bush burn through all that money so quickly?

But a Turkish official quickly pointed out to The Wall Street Journal the irony in Washington's call to close off the border, given the U.S. is completely unable to stop flows in and out of Mexico.

In response, a U.S. official said, "If we were at war with Mexico, we'd close that border."

325 Hillary Clinton has appointed to her leadership team a former congressman who blamed his defeat on Jewish interests and the Jewish media, her campaign announced earlier this month.

The Clinton campaign named Earl Hilliard, Sr., who served in Congress from 1992 to 2002, as part of her 60-member Alabamaleadership team on Nov. 20. Hilliard, who lost to then-Democrat Artur Davis in 2002, was considered one of Israels most vocal opponents in Congress. Davis, a staunch supporter of Israel who became a Republican in 2012, had the backing of groups such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Anti-Defamation League in the election.

Shortly after Hilliards defeat, the former congressman gave an interview to the Black Commentator in which he said Jewish interests bought the election for Davis. The only thing I know for sure, that I saw in black and white, is $1,098,000 that [Davis] reported, said Hilliard in the July 16, 2002 interview. You cant take money from corporations, so that came from Jews and Republicans. Theres no question where that money came from.

Anyway they like Rubio a lot, think Ted Cruz is a crazy person and think Donald Trump would be a horrible president on foreign affairs because he's too mean to people and you can't do that as a diplomat. And they also think deporting illegals, while not a bad idea, is impossible to do so why even talk about it.

Not saying I agree or disagree with them, but it was interesting to get that point of view from 2 people who are the types of "gee should we vote blue or red this year honey" that make or break elections.

She has proposed that, as president, she'd spend $275 billion on repairing and maintaining existing infrastructure such as bridges, power plants, etc. The reason I like this is because its what the president should and can do. That's their job. 99% of what you get from presidential candidates is "here's what I'd do if I mind controlled congress!" or "here's what I'd do if the laws of economics and reason were suspended!"

This is something presidential, at least. Of course she plans to fund it all with increased taxes, and then more increased taxes on Wall Street. And naturally "infrastructure" would be redefined to mean women's study departments, black student centers, planned parenthood funding, etc.

But at least the plan is proper.

Realistically, to be at the top of your profession, you pretty much have to be committed to it full-time. It's true in medicine, and in scientific research: simply reading the literature to stay current can take up most of your free time apart from practicing medicine/carrying out research.

443 Hillary Clinton has actually done something right. She has proposed that, as president, she'd spend $275 billion on repairing and maintaining existing infrastructure such as bridges, power plants, etc. The reason I like this is because its what the president should and can do. An internist, a neurologist and a surgeon go duck hunting. They're sitting in the blind when something flies overhead. The internist jumps up, looks in the air, "Looks like a duck. Sounds like a duck. I think this might be a duck. Let me check ..." Gets his duck book out, looks for an image to identify it, pages through ... finally finds a picture that looks close, "It IS a duck!" but by the time he looks back up it's already gone. he sits back down.

Then something else flies over. The neurologist jumps up, looks at it. "Looks like a duck. Sounds like a duck. Flies like a duck. Close enough that it's probably a duck." He takes a shot and wildly misses. He sits back down.

Then something else flies overhead. The surgeon jumps up and shoots at it, knocking it out of the sky. Then he runs over and picks it up and screams back, "Hey, guys! Check it out. It's a duck!"

That's why I like either really young doctors who haven't entered the "I don't' give a fuck" stage of their careers, or really old doctors. Why oldies? Well cuz by 50-55 years old most docs can comfortably retire. If they're still at it well into their 60s, it means they must actually like what they do and care about patients, etc.

The 35--50 year old doctor....it's a crap shoot. They could be there simply for the paycheck and counting down the days until they can call it quits and play golf full time.

A two-year rebate is not a tax cut. And since some of the legislation attached to the "stimulus" was ongoing, we're still paying on some of it, so the bill keeps going up.

Rubio will probably edge Cruz to get the nomination.

Trump will almost certainly self-destruct before the convention since he's always been his own worst enemy; Dr. Carson will fade as his unreadiness for the job becomes even more apparent; Carly, who I support, will also fade because her lack of name recognition equates to fundraising dollars and she won't have enough of either to stay competitive; Jeb! will be forced to drop out before the convention because he's a RINO loser; and Cruz will lose simply because Rubio will be able to outspend him two-to-one.

Rubio's handful of billionaire big money donors beats Cruz's small-money, grassroots support.

Ultimately, the presidential race has turned into a reality show, so serious candidates have zero chance.

The Democrats are the ones the show wants to go on to the finals and win, so they get all the best camera angles, interview quotes, and little boosts from the production team.

Barack Obama doesn't "do" a hell of a lot of anything. He didn't write his speeches, research his opposition, write his policy plans, organize his Get Out the Vote efforts, or do much of anything other than show up and give speeches painted on a teleprompter.

Pretending that his political achievements are the singular result of his Conan-esque political heroism and brilliance is ridiculous. He's an Ivy-league educated radical lawyer of mixed race heritage raised abroad who made outlandish promises. He's a progressive wet dream of a candidate. That's why he beat Hillary. That's why he was elected.

Calling him brilliant and successful because he won is, well, fucking stupid. An absurd, idealized universe where only the best person with the most impressive personal characteristics ever wins. Mommy loves Trump because he talks about the stuff other people won't talk about mainly immigration and because he loves America. That's a nearly word for word quote.

Trust me, she has me as a daughter so Mommy has heard way way way more than she ever wanted to hear about eminent domain abuse and Trump's vacillating positions on, um, everything and all of it.

565 Obama has demonstrated about zero keen insights or deep thoughts. He is experienced at political manipulation, has a tremendous political team, and has a certain level of cleverness when it comes to creating popular misconceptions about himself.

His hypocrisies are obvious (speaking to colleges or his Asian Trade Summit about listening respectfully to people and not demonizing them on the same day as demonizing Republicans and accusing them of fearing "widows and orphans), his insults are crude and obvious (the middle finger during the debates and his waffles and "I won" temper tantrums).

There are scores or hundreds of such examples and little else to go on. If it wasn't for the MFM having a gigantic crush on him and their party loyalty he would never have got anywhere with his attitudes.

Politicians need a slash line like a baseball player. Then we can talk about who needs replacing and who's a solid performer like a daily sports talk show. And THAT will get people paying attention, and that attention would lead to responses from leadership.

All of this needs to happen before The Burning begins.

That is not a silly slip of the tongue or misstatement. That is an indication of deep stupidity and the total inability to do any sorts of mathematical word problems ... which would lead a normal person to surmise that his math SAT score was in the basement, at best, and that he has the mathematical sophistication of a slow 8th grader, at best.

Biden spent his entire debate with Ryan laughing like a loon and sticking out his fake horse teeth and he was deemed the winner by the smart set.

Posted by: JackStraw

Exactly, all Hillary has to do is recite her talking points when it's her turn and will either be a draw or she'll be deemed the winner.

And even when there's really bad debate performances like Bush in 2004 (probably the worst in the history of televised debates) or Obama in 2012, it didn't make a bit of difference.

How people are perceived during the debate to the LIVs is far more important than did they "win" the exchange.

As far as proposing a budget - yes that is an explicit presidential duty.

As for the rest -
budget for bridges should be on autopilot as they are funded by user/gas tax and largely owned by state and local go.
power plants are largely if not entirely run by private power companies, co-ops, etc. When it comes right down to it - the federal go has little to nothing to do with 'infrastructure' other than tying it up in regulatory red tape.

632 I just cannot get excited on about Jeb due to his bankruptcy problem and/or his former, fellow board member Wesley Clark. I just know they talked about internment camps for problem Americans, I sooo know it.

633 622 but in the tabloid aisle? Carson is the Good Older Son compared to Trump's Prodigal
and we all know America loves a second act

Honestly, I think part of Trump's appeal is that people want to be like him. The average American wants to be rich and famous and have the power to say and do what they want without repercussions. How else do you explain the popularity of the Kardashians and other reality-TV stars?

634 The one thing we do know for a fact is that Barry was not even a National Merit Semi-Finalist.

A genius, he is not.

636 Y'all bitches can't do fractions!

Only smarties need fractions!

You're dumb as a wall!

You have a potentially undiagnosed mental deficiency!

What will they say next? Tune in tomorrow!

639 So Moo Moo won't admit that he's stopped beating his wife. Which apparently means he's an ongoing wife beater.

Who elevates community college Accounting 101 to something beyond comprehension of all but the elitist of the elite.

Don't know why you let SB troll you guys. Guys gonna be without a paycheck in less then 12 months. Still claiming Hillary is inevitable.

640 So I was reading this part:
"2. It has become de rigeur on the left to claim that some
political thoughts -- coincidentally, all of which are political
thoughts hated by the left -- must simply be abandoned in order to
forestall any possibility of violence.

Sorry, they say, we'd love to have that tumultuous marketplace-of-ideas you lads are always on about, but the dangers are just too great to allow it.

This is, of course, the censor's eternal apologetics for his
censorship: Sure, we'd love to let you publish that book, Old Boy, but
the threat to the public safety and national morals are just too great."

And then all of a sudden it hit me like a lightning bolt...When I was checking my mail I received a 16,100 mAh powerbank from Amazon and put it on top of my mailbox. After I threw away all of my junk mail, I hastily got into my truck and rushed home to eat my rapidly cooling lunch FORGETTING MY 16100 mAh POWERBANK!
Weird huh? THANKS ACE!

641 I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you don't even know what I'm talking about.

Barky said "profit AND earnings ratios"

I'm not saying anything about his stupid mistake of "profits" or not noticing that profits and earnings are the same thing btu that he used AND to tie them together in a ratio.

-------------------------------

I honestly believe that Obama doesn't know the difference between million, billion, and trillion.

When he first got in office he made a big show to tell his department heads to trim a total of $100 million in spending. As if that if that would even make a dent in the deficit, yet TO THIS DAY he still claims to have cut the deficit in half. In his mind he cut the $200 billion dollar deficit he inherited from Bush (outside of TARP) by ordering the $100 million in spending reduction.
