4 The only good thing about Christie is that after Newton and the entire NE began their assault on the 2nd amendment, the Dems in the legeslature wanted to follow suite and he told them he would veto any gun control legislation they produced.

We have two things to look forward to when the next dem governor is elected, massive gun control legislation and massive tax increases.

14 I was delighted to hear of the humanitarian efforts by many other countries who are providing technical assistance, monetary assistance and supplies among other things. I was also proud to learn that the United States government has provided substantial assistance on a humanitarian basis. I believe that the Amrerican public and the private sector can do a great deal more by donating to the correct organizations, than they can by calling for the premature importation of thousands of Syrians into a culture that is alien to their's and into a situation that will make eventual repatriation much more difficult. For a fraction of what we spend on sports and entertainment, we could accomplish one of the greatest humanitarian triumphs in human history.

18 @15 scheiss. Of course the end game isn't repatriation but millions of shiny new Democrat voters. Carson may be subtlely trying to call attention to Democrat deception, but he needs to do so more forcefully. Most people will simply blank out on this point as stated. LIVs have very limited reading comprehension skills. Sorry, but Carson is too gentlemanly to do what needs to be done. Hillary will steamroll iver him and his supporters will be wondering "but he's so ...nice. How did we lose?"

19 Jeff Sessions says it costs U.S. taxpayers more to bring one Syrian "refugee" here than it costs to provide for 12 to have shelter, food, etc., in a camp in the middle east.

IOW, we could be providing for 12x as many Syrian "refugees" if we were sheltering them in camps closer to their homeland, rather than flying them here.

So why is Obama insisting on bringing 100k+ here?

When King Scrote took office, I couldn't imagine the government actually confiscating guns. Now I think it's inevitable. It is going to happen, no matter how much opposition there is to it.

I expect the feds to try to put ammo manufacturers out of business first. I've been trying my best to accumulate a lifetime supply of ammo while it's still available.

They always try to control, infiltrate, destroy.

Check out the article in American Rifleman a month or two back about bullets made of plastic with particles of copper embedded in them. They are significantly lighter than copper jacketed lead bullets but that means that they go much faster with the same powder charge. The plastic does not deform like lead so they cannot be made as effective hollow points, but they can be made in a fluted shape where hydrodynamic forces cause a whole lot of tissue destruction. Apparently they are set to start selling cartridges loaded with these bullets Real Soon Now.

I am thinking that it should not be much more difficult to set up a plastic injection molding operation than it is to cast your own lead bullets.

79 At first blush, a quadrillion electron-volts sounds like a huge ramp-up from 13 trillion to 14 trillion electron-volts, or 13 to 14 TeV, the traditionally quoted figures for the high end of the LHC's collision energy. That's what set off the doomsayers. In the weeks leading up to the ALICE collisions, there was a drumbeat of postings claiming that "CERN LIED" and warning that 1-PeV smashups would have catastrophic consequences.

The reason for the different figures has to do with particle theory rather than conspiracy theories. The 14-TeV figure relates to proton-on-proton collisions. The lead-ion collisions being conducted for the ALICE experiment, which aims to recreate the conditions that existed in the universe just an instant after the Big Bang, are much more energetic because the ions are so much bigger.
