Yes, there was a bill signed into law a long while back that allows the President to bring in "refugees" for humanitarian reasons. However, that is legitimate humanitarian reasons and true refugees. Everybody with half a brain cell that has been following this knows that these are not real refugees and almost all of them are muzzies from other countries and not Syria.
Therefore the "law" they are quoting does not apply. And on top of that IF they were proven terrorists he would bring them in anyway and flout the law.

These people cannot be vetted. They come from a war torn country, and as Paris proves there are terrorists coming in amongst them. Ben Rhodes-who is President Obama's national security advisor-who insists that our country will be safe-has a degree in creative writing!! He's not qualified to say how we can be safe. There is a professor whose last name is Jasser and is a first generation American of Syrian descent and a moderate Muslim. He says we should not accept Syrians until there are iron clad vetting procedures in place. In the meantime are we going to allow them to come in? He says the Obama administration will not allow moderate Muslims to ask any questions of refugees. It's only people from Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood connected groups. Moderate Muslims could ask questions to determine where their real allegiances lie. In addition, why is the Obama administration not accepting Kurds or people who are clearly Christian?
Cut off aid to any groups that want these people here. Mayor DeBlasio says New York has open arms. In the city where thousands died on 9/11 they will accept possible Muslim terrorists?!!

I knew one couple who sent their daughter to Dartmouth. She was a postal clerk, he was a custodian. They scrimped and saved and worked all the overtime, and served at the fundraisers that qualified her for the only local Day School whose 4.0 would get her in, and they were proud to do that. So about five years ago my grandfather died. He left his assets to his wife, with the proviso that after she died the two kids (my dad and my aunt) would split things up. About a year or so prior to all this, my aunt left town (and her unemployment) to go take care of my grandparents.
My grandmother recently died, and now it looks like my aunt is playing games with the estate. Apparently over the past five years she had been transferring all the assets out of my grandmother's name and into hers, including an annuity, savings account, etc.
Long story short, when the accounting became due my dad was basically told "nope, sorry, there's nothing left." But there is stuff left, including a house, furniture, and the money that my aunt socked away.
There's more backstory, but the main thing I'm working on is if it's a waste of time to get a lawyer involved if the assets were out of my grandmother's name before she died. There's a will but my aunt is being awfully cagey about it. My advice to dad is to get a lawyer to at least force an honest accounting, but he's starting to say that he thinks it would be a waste of time. My aunt is being nasty about honest questions about the estate.
So what sayeth the horde? Anyone ever deal with anything like this before?

Sadly, yes. Happened with my widowed FIL and two of my SIL's. They divided his assets and the family business while taking care of him. One of my BIL's was going to take legal action but SIL compromised by selling the family home she gave herself and dividing the proceeds. The other SIL sold the family business and died before anyone knew about that shady deal.
Oh, and it irreparably damaged family relations. Many people - including children of said SILs not talking ever since. Very, very destructive.

Is the aunt the executor?
If a will exists, a named beneficiary will need to be notified. Even if one doesn't exist, or if your dad isn't named, as a close relative he has the right to look into it.
A simple review by an estate lawyer wouldn't cost all that much. It's well worth the time to money to see what's what.

If Auntie lived with them as caretaker, she probably got Powers of Attorney to act on their behalf. If so, then I don't think there's much that can be done. If not, then she may have signed their names to the transfer docs - that should be actionable.
However, I think your Dad's share of the estate needs to be valued at north (perhaps well north) of $500k to justify the legal expense.
Who did Grandmother name as executor of her estate? The aunt? If it was someone else, anyone else, your Dad may have an opening to get information.
IANAL just a former CFP who studied some on Estate Planning and this free opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

We just went through the same thing when my aunt died a few weeks ago.
By prior agreement, my older brother was taking care of her affairs and finally had to bring her to Michigan from Rhode Island to care for her. It was agreed that he would get her waterfront house in RI.
My sister and I are named in the will to share whatever was left over. After gathering everything, we found a few hundred thousand scattered over a dozen accounts. Well worth the effort.
Your dad definitely needs to get someone to look at the paperwork.

And yes you can make decisions based on group activities. If you observe them for a long time (1200 years in this case), if you listen to all they write and who they praise and who they criticize (murderers and suicidal maniacs v people who respect their rights as people which is then taken advantage of) and who's actions they celebrate. (9/11 cheers in the Muslim world, Boos by Turks and others over any respect shown America or France after them being attacked.)
Now some will say we deserve it because of past acts. To an extent, I suppose this may be true. It would be difficult to know how far back to go as Islam has been attacking the West since the 700's or so and we've been responding since.
But is having some responsibility for the resulting mess mean we have to die to make up for it? Or our children? or their children?
I defy anyone to make that bald statement and expect agreement yet we hear some form of it all the time. Mostly from the left. I don't understand how they think they will be exempt but it seems they do.
They're mistaken and should be shown that they are.
Time to quit daydreaming and hoping for the best and protect ourselves. Whatever it takes.

First, your Dad could not leave assets to his wife, and have them be hers, with any binding agreement that she distribute it as he pleases when she dies.
She's free to change her mind.

And She might have arranged a joint tenancy of the house with rights of survivorship or had a living trust.
Your father appears, for whatever reason, to have remained completely out of the loop. It could be "worth it" to discover how assets came to be in your Aunts control, but you may still be disappointed.

If your aunt has been operating with power of attorney for the grandmother, that most likely ends with her death.
At that point, the will, the executor and probate take over. The system is designed to prevent exactly what you fear, that the aunt will clean everything out before anyone knows what's going on.
She's going to have to explain any money going out from the moment of death, in writing, with documentation. Also there is a look-back to see what transfers were made in a reasonable period prior to death.

The Choom is using a misapplication of the law to bring them in. So the States could take him to court which he would ignore just like his executive amnesty and the court orders to cease and desist. But since they have 30 now it would only take three more to call for an Art V and put a halt to it that way. But they will never do that.
The Republicans in congress could defund his actions but he would either ignore that and use other money or threaten to shutdown the government (parks and recreation only) and cry to the MFM. So they won't do that.
They could impeach his treasonous ass, but that is off the table.

Just in case I get to say Grace at Mom's Thanksgiving Day feast, with many hard-corpse leftie and psycho relatives at the table, I was thinking of searching Psalms or elsewhere for a passage that reflected both thankfulness and an unyielding opposition to the Enemy. Tough one. Suggestions welcome.

My grandmother recently died, and now it looks like my aunt is playing games with the estate. Apparently over the past five years she had been transferring all the assets out of my grandmother's name and into hers, including an annuity, savings account, etc.

I'm assuming that a lot of the granddad's assets were jointly held with the wife. (I'm assuming this because that's what most long-time married couples do). So, for example, if the house was owned by the two of them as joint tenants with the right of survivorship, then the granddad would not have been able to will the house to anybody else (including the kids). In joint tenancy title, ownership passes to the survivor on the death of the other joint tenant (regardless of anything in a will). The same would also be true for any bank accounts, stock, etc., that were held in joint tenancy w/RS.
If the grandmother owned sole title to bank accounts, etc., after the grandfather died, that was her property, which she had a right to use/dispose of however she chose, including transferring ownership of it to her daughter (assuming granny was of sound mind and her daughter was not lying to her, i.e., defrauding her, or taking advantage of some mental infirmity the old lady may have been suffering from). The fact that granddad's will contained a "proviso" that he wanted the two kids to get the assets after grandma died may not have any legal significance; it depends on a variety of factors and requires an analysis of the law of the state where the wills were probated. But, generally speaking, if the granddad's will imposed any restrictions on the assets left to grandma (such as, for example, leaving her a "life estate" interest in the house, rather than leaving her with fee simple title), then grandma would not have been able to transfer those assets to the daughter.
I suggest speaking with a probate lawyer in your area. If you're worried about the expense, find one who offers a "free initial consultation" and make an appointment. He/she will be able to give you a better idea of what options you have, and how much it's likely to cost you to pursue them.

I never found the broom, so who knows where that was. Everything in the car was in order so thank goodness for that.
As I was looking outside, I did see the girl walking down the street. Didn't see a broom, but I really don't know. It was dark, and I could only barely see her from the street lights. She wasn't running or in any hurry. But, she also wasn't stopping at any other houses or poking around. That definitely worries me.

They moment Erdogun was able to purge the Army and reduce their power, while increasing the Polizei power, that was the moment Turkey turned
I do not care about democracy in that region. I am all for pro west strong men, in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt
not all cultures are suited or ready for democracy

They're trying to hide the fact that the NRA and other such orgs exist only to act as in the interests of it's members.

And it's the numbers they want to hide. They don't want it known that there are millions of law abiding gun owners who don't wish to have their rights abridged and will fight to prevent that happening.
I think Obama is whistling past the graveyard on gun control.
There's not a lot he can do that can't be challenged out side of Congress (cause we can't rely on them) and in the courts.
There may be periods of a month or so before an injunction can stop whatever BS he's done but I guarantee you it will be stopped. One way or another.
Obama has taught us very well not to trust him or his operatives. Nothing will be ignored.

But they claim the subsidy to farmers counts as an ethanol subsidy. But that is for all crops, and has gone on for decades. Many farmers would be fine with dropping that, and much is for the insurance companies. But when you look at those red/blue maps of the US that show who votes Repub, much of that red land is farmer owned land, and farm based communities. Stabilizing all that red area by using some of the abundance of corn for ethanol makes sense, and stabilizing the producers of our food supply makes sense. Supporting farms and their communities is not the same as Obama passing tens of millions to his bundlers via Solyndras.
Blaming food prices on ethanol is pretty silly. Remember that oil went from $20 to over $100 per barrel, and only recently went back to $45. All farm inputs soared. That is the main reason corn prices doubled (less in real dollars), along with general inflation. If you strip out all the ethanol corn from the numbers, farmers still produced ever increasing amount of corn (and other crops).
I buy the insurance for my little 50 acres, and get some discount, but unless a hail storm wipes everything out, it will never pay, except for the peace of mind. But to get even that there are rules and reports, which are probably good for the land and all, but does have a cost.
The ethanol mandate only soaks up some of the excess crop. It's good to have an abundance, it's good to have foreigners pay a little more and help our trade deficit, which is still $60 billion a month, thanks to you guys buying everything from China.
Fortunately Reagan saved Harley Davidson by putting a huge tariff on the "rice burners" for a little time. But keeping our food base secure is a more important part of defending America, and even if foreign slave labor can manufacture off our tech more cheaply, doesn't make US obligated to buy it.
The hallowed "comparative advantage" only works if we actually put the unemployed factory worker to work at some "high tech" job where we supposedly dominate. That has always been the promise of those "five year plans", but instead we just keep moving people out of the work force. It was always a lie.
The same people that say "get rid of all subsidies" enjoy cheaper food as the illegals make it cheaper, and get their vacations in nice hotels subsidized by illegals too. Then we support the Chinese military by buying their crap, as we fight wars "for oil" in the ME. Then there are all the public unions that are "subsidized" ... our half socialist country is full of subsidies. But stabilizing farm commodities a little is one of the better ideas.
and that's my little rant on that ... it won't matter much to me, but the deceptions on the subject are like the global warming crap ... the same lies/distortions get repeated and then accepted as fact.
