Good Morning Morons. Today is Wednesday, November 18, 2015. On this day in 326 the "old" Saint Peter's Basilica that was built by Emperor Constantine over the reported site of Saint Peter's grave was consecrated. On this day in 1626 its replacement was consecrated. The original one was damaged by the invasions of barbarians during the sacking of Rome when they were looting and had fallen into ruin. The replacement was built in the same location.

She even supports Obama's and his pals BLM on their war on police.
And Issa hits her hard in her interview Monday on the failure to bring charges against LL. Her reply was the standard "prosecutorial discretion" excuse. This article from the WaPo cuts it off there but Issa's reply back was that it seems that she has a problem following the law. I saw that somewhere yesterday but can not find it today. Dartmouth College has responded to intensely negative national media coverage over a Black Lives Matter protest that harassed white students by issuing an apology, not to the students who were harassed, but instead to the protesters themselves for being subject to conservative criticism. All funding of this college should be halted, including student loans to attendees since the Supreme Court uses that to say the feds have a say-so in the schools. http://bit.ly/1HVFqtO Posted by: Vic-we have no party at November 18, 2015 06:36 AM (t2KH5) 16

A new poll by the Pew Research Center reveals significant levels of support for ISIS within the Muslim world. In 11 representative nation-states, up to 14 percent of the population has a favorable opinion of ISIS, and upwards of 62 percent "don't know" whether or not they have a favorable opinion of the Islamist group.
... For these 11 nation=states alone, the favorability ratings for ISIS reported by the Pew poll are indicative of at least 63 million ISIS supporters - and potentially upwards of 287 million if the undecided are included in the calculation. However, that is legitimate humanitarian reasons and true refugees. Everybody with half a brain cell that has been following this knows that these are not real refugees and almost all of them are muzzies from other countries and not Syria. Therefore the "law" they are quoting does not apply. And on top of that IF they were proven terrorists he would bring them in anyway and flout the law. Today I wrote to Governor Christie for saying "No" to Syrian refugees. It was done quickly and is not as good a letter as the one from yesterday:
Dear Governor Christie, Thank you staying strong on the Syrian refugees. These people cannot be vetted. They come from a war torn country, and as Paris proves there are terrorists coming in amongst them. Ben Rhodes-who is President Obama's national security advisor-who insists that our country will be safe-has a degree in creative writing!! He's not qualified to say how we can be safe. There is a professor whose last name is Jasser and is a first generation American of Syrian descent and a moderate Muslim. He says we should not accept Syrians until there are iron clad vetting procedures in place. In the meantime are we going to allow them to come in? He says the Obama administration will not allow moderate Muslims to ask any questions of refugees. It's only people from Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood connected groups. Moderate Muslims could ask questions to determine where their real allegiances lie. In addition, why is the Obama administration not accepting Kurds or people who are clearly Christian? Cut off aid to any groups that want these people here. Mayor DeBlasio says New York has open arms. In the city where thousands died on 9/11 they will accept possible Muslim terrorists?!! You're a strong man with strong opinions. Do be swayed by emotional arguments, Governor Christie. Keep NJ safe! Posted by: FenelonSpoke at November 18, 2015 07:14 AM (No/ki) 93
What concerns me is the lack of attention to this condition by the 'leadership' of the federal government and its outright sympathy for the terrorists .

Looks like the new prog meme is that not accepting an endless flood of Mideast refugees is just like not accepting Jews fleeing Nazi Germany. Yep, no difference there whatsoever in the situation or the refugees in question. Exactly the same. Posted by: Hand of Count Petofi at November 18, 2015 07:35 AM (1BQGO) Ask 'em about their progressive god FDR turning away 930 Jews on the St. Louis to die in the camps. They don't know about that. Can I vent?
So about five years ago my grandfather died. He left his assets to his wife, with the proviso that after she died the two kids (my dad and my aunt) would split things up. About a year or so prior to all this, my aunt left town (and her unemployment) to go take care of my grandparents. My grandmother recently died, and now it looks like my aunt is playing games with the estate. Apparently over the past five years she had been transferring all the assets out of my grandmother's name and into hers, including an annuity, savings account, etc. Long story short, when the accounting became due my dad was basically told "nope, sorry, there's nothing left." But there is stuff left, including a house, furniture, and the money that my aunt socked away. There's more backstory, but the main thing I'm working on is if it's a waste of time to get a lawyer involved if the assets were out of my grandmother's name before she died. There's a will but my aunt is being awfully cagey about it. My advice to dad is to get a lawyer to at least force an honest accounting, but he's starting to say that he thinks it would be a waste of time. My aunt is being nasty about honest questions about the estate. So what sayeth the horde? Anyone ever deal with anything like this before? VDare dot com is one of the best at getting to the root of the problem with the anti-American left. like Coulter, they are not apologetic when told they have KKK DNA, or when open borders nuts say they are racist for not opening borders to make us a third world hell hole.
Obama is intent on bringing in every anti-American influence he can, and breaking down every stronghold of our historic powers. We are not a nation of immigrants, 85% are born here. James Madison said we could welcome those that would assimilate, but exclude any that would not "readily assimilate himself into our society". The radical (or even moderate) mosques and Muslim communities become their own society, and we have to understand the danger this brings to our society. Of course the left loves the culture clash as a weapon against America, as the commie cult has raised them in leftist propaganda for decades. vdare.com/articles/ ... trumps-deportation-force-great-but-he-shouldnt-forget-self-deportation If real immigrants are "yearning to be free", they must yearn to obey our laws and absorb our culture if they are going to do it here. Otherwise they must die fighting the tyranny of their own country ... even the women and children. The chants of the Turkish, allahu akbar, at that stadium's moment of silence, demonstrates the problem of the forced integration of foreign cultures into our Western society. But of course "tear down and destroy" is always the goal of the commie left, at its root. Posted by: Illiniwek at November 18, 2015 07:58 AM (Nc0+l) 208

Yes, I've been trying to tell dad that a lawyer doesn't HAVE to be an adversarial action. I told him to just phrase it like "hey, I don't know anything about this estate stuff, so we should have a lawyer look into it to be sure it's all done correctly," but he's afraid of the family repurcussions. Plus my aunt is now starting to go off the rails. For example, she sent him text messages accusing him of trying to take "the only home she's had for five years" and threatening to draw things out until there is nothing left.
I'm glad she texted that all, actually. Anyway, my dad doesn't know who the executor is since he hasn't even seen the will or anything. This is nuts. And honestly, to be fair my aunt HAS been taking care of my grandmother for five years, and no one is saying she shouldn't get a significant portion of the estate. Aunt does not get any more Christmas or Birthday cards and no invites to family holiday dinners. If Auntie lived with them as caretaker, she probably got Powers of Attorney to act on their behalf. If so, then I don't think there's much that can be done. If not, then she may have signed their names to the transfer docs - that should be actionable. However, I think your Dad's share of the estate needs to be valued at north (perhaps well north) of $500k to justify the legal expense. Who did Grandmother name as executor of her estate? The aunt? If it was someone else, anyone else, your Dad may have an opening to get information. It's not a phobia if what you fear is actively trying to kill you.
Either we accept their own pronouncements or we invent some lie that we're comfortable with. Me I'll rely on what people tell me about themselves. And yes you can make decisions based on group activities. If you observe them for a long time (1200 years in this case), if you listen to all they write and who they praise and who they criticize (murderers and suicidal maniacs v people who respect their rights as people which is then taken advantage of) and who's actions they celebrate. (9/11 cheers in the Muslim world, Boos by Turks and others over any respect shown America or France after them being attacked.) Now some will say we deserve it because of past acts. To an extent, I suppose this may be true. It would be difficult to know how far back to go as Islam has been attacking the West since the 700's or so and we've been responding since. But is having some responsibility for the resulting mess mean we have to die to make up for it? Or our children? or their children? I defy anyone to make that bald statement and expect agreement yet we hear some form of it all the time. Mostly from the left. I don't understand how they think they will be exempt but it seems they do. They're mistaken and should be shown that they are. Time to quit daydreaming and hoping for the best and protect ourselves. Whatever it takes. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That at November 18, 2015 08:13 AM (Xo1Rt) 234
The widows and orphans line is obviously intended to guilt Christians into accepting Muslim widows and orphans.
And if that doesn't work, there's always sweet, sweet taxpayer money: "The paid agents of the State Department -- the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (52 percent taxpayer-funded), Church World Service (57 percent taxpayer-funded), World Relief (70 percent taxpayer-funded), Lutheran Immigrant and Refugee Services (92 percent taxpayer-funded), and others decide on their own, in secret, where they will send the refugees they're paid to "sponsor," whether the local schools and other institutions can handle them or not. I use scare quotes because sponsoring a refugee does not mean what you think it does. It consists of little more than signing the refugees up for welfare and then moving on to the next revenue-generating warm body (the agencies are paid by the head)." First, your Dad could not leave assets to his wife, and have them be hers, with any binding agreement that she distribute it as he pleases when she dies. She's free to change her mind. There can be a tacit understanding but it cannot bind. Other arrangements have to be made if you want a guaranteed pass through to another set of heirs who do not directly inherit. This is not to say it's impossible for your Aunt to have taken advantage, but your Aunt by your story made sacrifices to care for her mother. How the assets came to be in her own name is bothering you - and you apparently suspect some undue influence, or worse, fraud. That your aunt wrangled or cheated unfair advantage. However it may also be completely above-board and legal. Some assets might not even flow through the estate: Your mother might have assigned rights of survivorship to funds. There were different ways for your mother to grant access to her funds or make it possible for her daughter to act on her behalf - some of these ways would give the daughter ownership of the funds before or after death. And She might have arranged a joint tenancy of the house with rights of survivorship or had a living trust. Your father appears, for whatever reason, to have remained completely out of the loop. It could be "worth it" to discover how assets came to be in your Aunts control, but you may still be disappointed. Posted by: 7th district at November 18, 2015 08:16 AM (3fTXW) 239

At that point, the will, the executor and probate take over. The system is designed to prevent exactly what you fear, that the aunt will clean everything out before anyone knows what's going on. She's going to have to explain any money going out from the moment of death, in writing, with documentation. When we were hit on 911, Eurosquishes stood aghast at our retaliation as if they were above it all. Then Hollande nearly gets fragged and the man transmogrifies into a Super Ultra Neocon before the bodies can be tallied. Libs are selfish cowards. This means as long as they feel safe, they indulge in airy memes not applicable in Reality. If the Aunt won't disclose info, you could look up the probate court(s) for the county your Gma resided in when she died and see what, if any, info has been filed. Probate records are public info. That's why many people like to use other legal means to keep their financial business out of the public eye.
IIRC it was Sinatra (or Carson?) who kept all his public entertainer business in his estate and which was breathlessly reported by the press after his death. The Governors? Not so much. Laws need to be passed on the state level to make it illegal to do what the feds are doing. I don't care what the courts have said about that. It seems a pro pos to remind everyone of this quote:
"The Constitution is not a suicide pact" The meaning is clear, nothing in the Constitution should or ever could be interpreted such that it would begin, allow or encourage the dissolution of the Nation. Thus some of the rulings on whether the States can do this or that are at odds with this statement. And it needs to be clarified and re-clarified until those who won't see it finally give up. Jindal could've saved his Campaign if he'd gone to the next arrival of "refugees" and arrested the Feds enabling it and sent those "refugees" back on the next flight. Interestingly, there is a way to actually have Gun Free Zones.
That would entail metal detectors at every entrance, security alarmed exit doors and windows and an ID system. But of course the Libs can't do that because it would be too revealing on exactly what would happen in a world of their making and control. Morning, Glories!
Vic, thanks for the eye-opening shot of the news. I'm bucking the blog trend here, but I keep thinking, what a glorious time to be alive - soldiers of truth, smack in the midst of one of the great wars between good and evil. Plenty to give thanks for next week, in spirit, if not in the facts of the world. YMMV. Just in case I get to say Grace at Mom's Thanksgiving Day feast, with many hard-corpse leftie and psycho relatives at the table, I was thinking of searching Psalms or elsewhere for a passage that reflected both thankfulness and an unyielding opposition to the Enemy. Tough one. Suggestions welcome. Posted by: mindful webworker - particularly at November 18, 2015 09:01 AM (yCZVl) 344
_______________________ I'm assuming that a lot of the granddad's assets were jointly held with the wife. (I'm assuming this because that's what most long-time married couples do). So, for example, if the house was owned by the two of them as joint tenants with the right of survivorship, then the granddad would not have been able to will the house to anybody else (including the kids). In joint tenancy title, ownership passes to the survivor on the death of the other joint tenant (regardless of anything in a will). The same would also be true for any bank accounts, stock, etc., that were held in joint tenancy w/RS. If the grandmother owned sole title to bank accounts, etc., after the grandfather died, that was her property, which she had a right to use/dispose of however she chose, including transferring ownership of it to her daughter (assuming granny was of sound mind and her daughter was not lying to her, i.e., defrauding her, or taking advantage of some mental infirmity the old lady may have been suffering from). The fact that granddad's will contained a "proviso" that he wanted the two kids to get the assets after grandma died may not have any legal significance; it depends on a variety of factors and requires an analysis of the law of the state where the wills were probated. But, generally speaking, if the granddad's will imposed any restrictions on the assets left to grandma (such as, for example, leaving her a "life estate" interest in the house, rather than leaving her with fee simple title), then grandma would not have been able to transfer those assets to the daughter. I suggest speaking with a probate lawyer in your area. If you're worried about the expense, find one who offers a "free initial consultation" and make an appointment. He/she will be able to give you a better idea of what options you have, and how much it's likely to cost you to pursue them. [DISCLAIMER: the above is not intended as legal advice and if you are in need of legal advice you should seek counsel from a licensed and qualified lawyer in your state] Posted by: I don't play a lawyer on t.v. at November 18, 2015 09:01 AM (a31sM) Posted by: JackStraw at November 18, 2015 09:02 AM (/tuJf) 346

I always get a kick out that. They all act like as if the NRA is acting all on it's own for some nefarious purpose.
They're trying to hide the fact that the NRA and other such orgs exist only to act as in the interests of it's members. (well mostly. there are arguments within.) And it's the numbers they want to hide. They don't want it known that there are millions of law abiding gun owners who don't wish to have their rights abridged and will fight to prevent that happening. I think Obama is whistling past the graveyard on gun control. There's not a lot he can do that can't be challenged out side of Congress (cause we can't rely on them) and in the courts. There may be periods of a month or so before an injunction can stop whatever BS he's done but I guarantee you it will be stopped. One way or another. Obama has taught us very well not to trust him or his operatives. Nothing will be ignored. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That at November 18, 2015 09:08 AM (Xo1Rt) 363

The ethanol link at least points out the real subsidies ended long ago. But there is the mandate for the 10% blend. I've never seen damage on large vehicles, but would like to pay a premium to get "regular" for small engines, though riding mowers seem to handle it fine. And yeah, it has less "power" but higher octane, and it costs less, even after the dive in oil prices.
http://www.neo.ne.gov/statshtml/66.html <---- rack prices But they claim the subsidy to farmers counts as an ethanol subsidy. But that is for all crops, and has gone on for decades. Many farmers would be fine with dropping that, and much is for the insurance companies. But when you look at those red/blue maps of the US that show who votes Repub, much of that red land is farmer owned land, and farm based communities. Stabilizing all that red area by using some of the abundance of corn for ethanol makes sense, and stabilizing the producers of our food supply makes sense. Supporting farms and their communities is not the same as Obama passing tens of millions to his bundlers via Solyndras. Blaming food prices on ethanol is pretty silly. Remember that oil went from $20 to over $100 per barrel, and only recently went back to $45. All farm inputs soared. That is the main reason corn prices doubled (less in real dollars), along with general inflation. If you strip out all the ethanol corn from the numbers, farmers still produced ever increasing amount of corn (and other crops). I buy the insurance for my little 50 acres, and get some discount, but unless a hail storm wipes everything out, it will never pay, except for the peace of mind. But to get even that there are rules and reports, which are probably good for the land and all, but does have a cost. The ethanol mandate only soaks up some of the excess crop. It's good to have an abundance, it's good to have foreigners pay a little more and help our trade deficit, which is still $60 billion a month, thanks to you guys buying everything from China. Fortunately Reagan saved Harley Davidson by putting a huge tariff on the "rice burners" for a little time. But keeping our food base secure is a more important part of defending America, and even if foreign slave labor can manufacture off our tech more cheaply, doesn't make US obligated to buy it. The hallowed "comparative advantage" only works if we actually put the unemployed factory worker to work at some "high tech" job where we supposedly dominate. That has always been the promise of those "five year plans", but instead we just keep moving people out of the work force. It was always a lie. The same people that say "get rid of all subsidies" enjoy cheaper food as the illegals make it cheaper, and get their vacations in nice hotels subsidized by illegals too. Then we support the Chinese military by buying their crap, as we fight wars "for oil" in the ME. Then there are all the public unions that are "subsidized" ... our half socialist country is full of subsidies. But stabilizing farm commodities a little is one of the better ideas. and that's my little rant on that ... it won't matter much to me, but the deceptions on the subject are like the global warming crap ... the same lies/distortions get repeated and then accepted as fact. ha ... that's off the top of my head bitter ... there are more distortions not covered.
Basically America will have to pay a little more if we are going to "put America back to work". The globalists and free traders have their own agenda, which too many Republicans accept as "conservative". Do you dispute some of that, or are you just being snarky for the heck of it? I know the "ethanol is evil" is part of the herd religious code. $30B trade deficit is now $60B, but ZIRP and QE will save us, and the UN. heh Posted by: Illiniwek at November 18, 2015 09:34 AM (Nc0+l) 376
Oh, and my little 50 acres doesn't entitle me to the "farmer" title. I use that for the guys that can rebuild their own tractors, and work till they are 80, with no early pension.
