How about a roundup of political stories outside the Presidential primary?

First, from PENNSYLVANIA! In a shocking turn of events, Democrat Attorney General Kathleen Kane may actually be removed from office.

On October 26, 2015, the Pennsylvania Senate established a special committee to determine whether Kane should face a removal vote. The committee is chaired by Sen. John Gordner (R) and the other members are: Sens. Lisa Baker (R), Art Haywood (D), Judy Schwank (D), Sean Wiley (D) and Gene Yaw (R). Senate President Pro Tempore Scarnati will serve as a seventh voting member. The committee is tasked with evaluating whether the Senate should move toward removing Kane by holding a formal hearing. The committee plans to submit a preliminary report within 30 days. Kane's defense team said it will fight the Senate's removal effort.

She also pissed off a judge:

In a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report Thursday, a former statewide grand jury judge, Barry Feudale, accused Kane or her agents of breaking into his office in the disappearance of three sensitive files in 2013.
"That's a burglary," Feudale said. "It's a theft."
Later Thursday, Feudale put out a statement calling Kane "the most corrupt, dishonest, deceptive politically motivated'public servant' I have encountered in my 28 years as a judge."

Given how rarely a Democrat is punished for misdeeds, I assume she committed some grave offense to the Progressive agenda leading to her possibly being held accountable.

Meanwhile, in Kentucky Republican Matt Bevin still trails Democrat Jack Conway in the race for governor. I don't have much to add to this except to say that Conway reminds me of one of the lesser (and dimmer) Kennedys, trading on his family name. It'll be depressing if he wins, but based on television ads and this poll, it doesn't look good. The steaming turd on top of this sh1t sandwich are the anti-Bevin ads Conway is running that feature hits by Team McConnell. Awesome.

Last weekend I put a link to the results of the Louisiana elections in the sidebar. Vitter will be facing Democrat Bel Edwards in a runoff on November 21st. I gather that the Democrat is running as a conservative, including supporting the expansion of Jindal's privatization of Medicaid. Vitter is reportedly undecided on this issue.

Good thing he doesn't have the loony squads after him as in one state north.

Illinois is really a one-city state, more so than any other in the rust belt. There's the Chicago metroplex and the rest is a small collection of backwaters. Peoria, Springfield, Joliet.

Even the big U town, Champaign, is a nothingburger of a place.

18 Pennsylvania supreme court elections are Tuesday, and that one's kinda important as Pennsylvania's is (surprisingly, I suppose) one of the most gun friendly states in the union. But the cities insist on sending bullshit up that they have to weigh in on.

So, a lot of stupid stuff gets proposed and shot down here.

IN MS, there area a couple of ballot initiatives to 'fully fund schools first' ie making them first in line at the trough. Yeah, I think not.

I may have strayed a time or two and voted for individual Dems (none, I might note, since the buttrape OCare vote) but my voting record is 100% on one thing -- I NEVER vote for a tax increase. Nun uh, no way, bite me. They will never have enough money.

30 In Wisconsin, the Democrat opponent running against Rep. Sean Duffy has dropped out of the race, citing a lack of funds. So it looks like Sean will keep his seat. I think there is a Moron here who has Duffy as his representative.

Senator Ron Johnson (R) is being opposed by former Senator Russ Feingold. Yes - THAT Russ Feingold, perennial politician. Johnson came in as a Tea Party candidate and has been a tad disappointing. I would not be surprised at all to see Feingold take the seat, which would leave Wisconsin with two progressive Senators, the other being the horrid Tammy Baldwin.

Last but not least, this week Paul Ryan, representative of me, became Speaker of the House.

The three horrible years I lived in the Boston area I was appalled by the corruption there, especially with the home heating oil businesses. And I had just moved from Chicago!

Even the elections stuff was more corrupt. When we went to register to vote in MA, we pointed out to the official that the 7 or so names on our address no longer lived there (and hadn't for some time). She refused to remove the names "in case they wanted to vote."

His assertion was that he was never an informant and he was railroaded by all the people he used to bribe.

The only assertion he denies is the informant part. He's taken the murder and racketeering licks, and doesn't deny them, but got pissed about that informant assertion.

Which, thinking about it and seeing what they had, there's no way he was an informant... so, Occam's Razor and all that.

Same thing in CA when I lived there. A liquor license for open pour was like tickets to the Masters. It was passed down from heir to heir and the rare time when was was sold it went for big dollar.

70 Sorry if this local news straddles the national primary. I just saw that the bulk of the Wisconsin Republican Assembly has endorsed Rubio. Personally I don't know why they think this is part of their duties. They are supposed to represent the people in their districts, and I do not recall being asked. This is not Wisconsin business.

The criminality of Clinton, the bullshit of global warming, the Ponzi scheme of Social Security, spending hundreds of billions on education that doesn't happen, all this couldn't happen if the press was doing it's job.

I had recommended the alternative media, radio, blogs, etc. focus on a few egregious individuals, isolate them and humiliate to the point that others in the industry would modify their behavior. Maybe that time is coming.

Another thing that is coming to the fore is the need for the right to stick together on the subject of the MSM. This has been a big problem and was highlighted in the Palin era, when a frightened MSM spun unflattering and false narratives to bring her down.

At that time, some of the elites on the right, knowing she wasn't of the same "tribe" as they were, joined in the fun of making her seem like an ignorant snowbilly. Bloggers and second tier magazine writers were being invited to luncheons - if they toed the line on how unacceptable she was. Without support from our side, the left won.

We've seen the same call for right wing writers to denounce Trump and a lot of the "elites" have jumped in against him, but this time it's different. Let's hope that if Trump wins, he will remember who was giving him a fair shot and who was badmouthing him from the start.

Another thing that Ace touched on slightly - Reporters, writers, etc. seem to be mistaking the ability to organize, collate, aggregate or inject some humor into articles isn't the same as original thought.

There are a lot of insufferable twits who believe themselves to be "intellectuals" because they are in the writing or reporting business. These are people who have never had an original thought in their lives, but believe that since they are collecting information on a subject, they are experts. Just like Ahmed the Clockmaker, they are just taking the product of real intellect and putting in their pencil box.

I think that was the most upsetting part of the whole takeover. There were these politicians and some people from (IIRC) Ford Foundation and they colluded to take over a billion dollar art collection - all the little things they did, that collectively resulted in theft of private property.
Even if you thought what Barnes had set-up for his art was stupid, it was his property, and he wanted it to remain in his mansion. This situation shows how the wreckers will find a way, and will bend abuse any laws as they please, to get what they want. Not initially. It would drive everything underground --- there are so many guns out there already.

Look at what happened in CT recently where people were supposed to register guns that were reclassified as "assault weapons" and high-capacity magazines. IIRC, they estimated that fewer than 10% were registered and the state then decided to not go through with confiscation (which was the penalty for not registering).

I think Obama/authorities would have to be aggressive before things got ugly. Don't know that a lot of them are willing to go there just yet.

Here's the thing - while the Left is talking about gun bans they're also agitating for a complete neutering of the police. Policemen are being randomly killed by #BLM thugs all over the country, and the crappy Dem politicians are not only not supporting them, but siding with the anarchists.

He very clearly said before putting the gun in his own mouth that he wanted everyone to stay back because he didn't want anyone to get hurt. I'm not saying I wouldn't have ducked for cover too, but some of them clearly kept their cameras rolling, so I'm not sure how scared those folks were.

I've pretty much given up on Levis as a brand. Their multiple cuts, the different styles... they are designed for younger people, but it's got nothing to do with getting old and fat. It has everything to do with younger dudes not caring that they overpay for shoddy material, and don't seem to care if it looks sloppy and saggy on them.

I have heard and "get" the theoretical argument on initiatives. But in practice, in CA specifically, it's hard to make the case.

Prop 13 (limits prop. tax increases). Never would have happened otherwise. (I am going to skip the pretty cogent real market analysis-based discussion that property tax insanity would have fixed itself via a collapsing real estate market) Prop 187, a little-known last gasp by the fading sane majority that had helped make CA so great to contain the illegal migration madness (destroyed by a federal super-legislator, er, "judge"). Prop Eight, infamously over-turned by a handful of "judges" with the collaboration of faithless, oath-breaking state officials. (note that Prop Eight was the THIRD time CA voters had told Sacramento no, we don't want to redefine marriage)

Sure - bullet train, happier chickens (hugely more expensive eggs), idiotic stem cell research institute, etc etc.

But net/net, even though the lawless, de facto abolition of the initiative process via the uncontested lawsuit/lawless judge/faithless state official/SCOTUS "standing" Catch-22 has made any "controversial" CA ballot initiative an exercise in futility, at least modern initiatives have been a positive. At the very least, they are not on the list of things that has ruined the state (in a governance sense).

So for a lot of people in CA, depending on where they live, the de facto abolition of ballot initiatives that are opposed by the cretinous "elites" has removed the last reason to vote. If you (like most in CA) live in a hopelessly gerrymandered district (both for federal and state seats), there is no choice in party. Unless you're an NPR-stupid coastal clueless drone (most of the state), your presidential vote (primary or general) is meaningless by definition.

So unless there's a school board or city council race of any real consequence (real choice) - which is exceedingly rare - voting, esp. for a voter who is not a moonbat drone, is a completely empty exercise.

San Diego mayor's race (to replace Filthy Filner) was very close, but that's rare, and the difference between the non-moonbat victor and his slick Hispanic union-run Dem machine apparatchik opponent is not all that important in the end - probably.

This is 1,000 times more important than the Iran deal, in terms of process that equals substance. It is the natural latest evolution of GOP surrender without a fight that started in the lame duck of 2010, and has continued since.

I rack it up to the (understandable) ignorance of even many bright comparatively informed people around here regarding Congress's role and actual power in the constitutional system. Congress ("GOP controlled") is, literally, surrendering almost all of their power over a histrionically lawless executive branch. That simple. While that executive pursues ruinous, wildly unpopular policies.
