24 Is there anything more pathetic than a backstabbing traitor of a SOH blubbering like a little girl and waving a box of hankies as he walks out the door?

John Boehner is a disgrace.

Paul Ryan will be no better.

And I find it interesting now that they've pretty much made themselves and congress irrelevant for the next 2 years they are going to go back to regular order.

And the Freedom Caucus is a fraud much like the rest of the GOP.

27 Breitbart ran an interview with Trump (yesterday, I think) in which he restated him immigration views. Which have not changed.

I find it amusing that the GOPe media are happily adopting the Democrat tactic of assigning their own interpretations, factual or otherwise (mostly "otherwise"), to the words of candidates they don't approve of. I have noticed an increase in Trump posts written in a condescending, disapproving tone that take his statements out of context in hopes of stirring up a frenzy.

Anyway, read what he actually said yourself: http://bit.ly/1WkKfn1

Now that the Witches of Salem seem to be waddling toward Rubio, it would be nice if some site, somewhere, would report and opine on ALL candidates without putting words in their mouths.

Six months after hitting the market with a $29 million price tag, the Pontiac Silverdome is out of time. The property's owner has shifted strategies and is now preparing to tear down the empty and battered 40-year-old stadium next year in the belief that the 127-acre site would be more marketable without the Silverdome than with it.

Triple Investment Group bought the Silverdome in 2009 at auction from the city of Pontiac for $583,000.

75 Smart, Military: It now appears that any future surprise attack on the Eastern Seaboard will be preceded by a flight of Spad biplanes. To take out our airships.

F-15 pilots who have flown in "formation" with P-51's report that they hope they are never called on to dogfight against one. Take out the Mavericks, and it's advantage Mustang. Take out the speed factor, and Mustangs would have their hands full with Fokkers. Also, biplanes are STOL. Q.E.D.

I have asserted for decades that there is no combat technology, to include pikes, in which the United States does not need to maintain a basic competence. Keep in mind that when USAF Special Forces (hereinafter referred as "Air Force Cavalry") invaded Afghanistan, they had to borrow wooden saddles from the locals. Our stocks of perfectly good McClellans at Fort Riley, once the largest stockpile in Jane's, had been sold off as surplus. See what happens?

Now touch off boilers one though three, and make ready for sea. Black gang to the coal bunker.

One thing that has interested me -- aside from the smaller/more maneuverable fighter vs. the bigger/faster-in-straight-line fighter -- is the psychological aspect of waging war with some of the older technology.

What do enemy on the ground think and do when they see a sky filled with hundreds of B-29s, or a flight of Mustangs coming at them at treetop level? Is that not going to get the wind up them more than some tiny speck of a B2 or an invisible missile?

No. A submunitions strike or a thermobaric bomb will get the message across much better than most WW2 weapons. The invisible missile is just an assassination attempt with collateral damage. Bulk weapons now-a-days allow a much smaller force to do much more damage. It's all about being cost effective when you have an all out war.

Yes, Ryan's family has always lived in Janesville. I think all of his brothers and sisters still live there too. Priebus lives pretty much next door to the Lutheran high school where Little Winger went, which is a good hour away. I think he moved there from out East somewhere when he was around 7 or 8. Janesville is a good distance away. Priebus is Greek Orthodox and Ryan is Catholic, so I don't know how their paths would have crossed in childhood.
I do believe they came across each other in their early twenties, but that is just something I heard in passing. Nothing confirmed. The three of them, Walker, Ryan and Priebus are in roughly the same age range.

I could say "Show an example from Rubio's history (or, for that matter, Heb!'s, or Shrillery's) demonstrating any commitment to constitutional government" and challenge you. You couldn't come up with one either. Well, unless you cheated and decided "taking money from it" is a commitment to constitutional government....

IMO, your first mistake is thinking that all Trump supporters are breathless, doe-eyed worshipers of the guy. We're not. I'm not. I know damn well the guy has more faults than Los Angeles County.

My dilemma with Rubio is that I trust him even less than I trust any politician (and I trust the average politician about as much as I'd trust Bill Clinton to babysit my fat teenage daughter if I had one). On the other hand, I think he has a better chance of beating Hillary than most any of the other guys.

277 Martin Luther was one of those people who took the Bible so literally that he felt that in some obscure scriptural passage reference was made to the sun revolving around the earth.

Meanwhile, scientists of the day were proving just the opposite. He called for them to be burned at the stake as heretics.

So he gets one thumb up, one thumb down in my book.

Well, he wasn't initially intending to. That was a common practice-to set ideas for discussion in a public place. It was intended for debate/.discussion just among his colleagues at the university. He posted them in Latin which the common people didn't read. However, people living in the town got a hold of them, translated them into German and with the printing press the rest is history.

I do think that if Luther hadn't taken that step someone would have. It's not as if the Reformation began with Luther.

Correct. John Hus was burned at the stake about a hundred years or so before Luther. He was burned at the stake. There were others too. Time to dig out my Foxe's Book of Martyrs. My memory isn't what it used to be. For instance, was Wycliffe before or after.

All Saint's day is a lovely holy day, whether you're a RC or not.
