Saturday Politics Thread: Genocide [Y-not]

Please use this thread for politics and the thread below for mirth and merriment.

Most of you know that the media and Democrat machine (BIRM) have been studiously ignoring the Center for Medical Progress' undercover videos of the ghoulish (and it appears criminal) practices at Planned Parenthood. That changed last week with Carly Fiorina's highly effective attacks on same.

Now the media have switched from ignoring the existence of these videos, to dismissing them or outright lying about what they show. A sample below:

That tweet was in response to Mollie Hemingway's (Y-not: Typo fixed) tweet showing a clip of an aborted child who was born alive and allowed to die. (I thought Mollie's response was perfect.) I won't embed the tweet and clip, but I urge you to watch it. Ms. Hemingway (Y-not: Typo fixed) has a piece about the media's denials over at The Federalist.

Coincidentally, I happened to watch the World At War's episode, "Genocide," yesterday. In it they describe how the Nazis harvested glasses, prosthetic limbs, gold fillings and even human fat from the people they murdered.

Limbs.jpg

This image from the documentary reminded me of the pictures we've seen of baby parts "harvested" by Planned Parenthood.

Can someone explain to me the difference between what the Nazis and their apologists did and what Planned Parenthood and its enablers are doing today?

**UPDATE: Excellent comment from Lizzy:

25 What I like about Carly is that she is really good about separating this from abortion --- she makes it clear this is about what they are doing to breathing human beings. The PP types love to brush this off as a mother's choice as a way to ignore that there's another human being involved.

Here's a 10 min debate with a creepy EMILY's List gal from a while back (starts ~4 min mark).

1 According to the Conservative Treehouse blog, although Trump did not go to a republican debate yesterday, he announced he will speak at a high school graduation in Iowa. Evidently he had advance knowledge that a trap had been planned for him at the debate, so he cancelled.

2 Jindal played this perfectly by showing the PP videos during a pro-PP protest, to show them exactly what they were supporting

Every PP supporter I know is unaware of these 10 videos; the media is ignoring them because it destroys their charade that these are not human babies being murdered, dismembered, and sold for medical experimentation

One was a political party and national government intent on purifying the land of sub-humans through the systematic collection and mass murder of those determined to be in that group.

The other is a business who realizes monetary profit through the harvesting of unborn pre-humans.

I suppose the only difference is that with PP, the government has outsourced the genocide instead of making it actual policy.

Then again, HHS mandate is eroding that bit by bit. How soon before we get our own One Child Policy, Liverpool Care Pathway or Groningen Protocol?

One group was motivated by the leadership of a soulless madman's desire to subjugate his nation to his whim and impose his twisted form of elitist socialism on the masses as a form of revenge for perceived slights and who murdered millions in service to his cause.

The others were Nazis.

15 That's what the MSM does....lie, distort, lie some more.

PP is on par with the Communits, Nazis and musloids as far as their crimes against humanity goes.

I wonder if we can get one of those Spanish judges who is always charging some long forgotten South American dictator with war crimes to bring charges against PP and their director?

21 Yes, Jindal's approach was also excellent.

I try not to be a single-issue voter, but I do find Fiorina's passionate defense of life very useful. It seems to me if she was really a shill for the GOPe, who tend to steer clear of "social issues," she wouldn't be hammering the Planned Parenthood videos and abortion quite so hard.

So she has moved up in my list of candidates, because I think there's at least some important core values that we share.

If one studies the Nazi approach to the elimination of their victims, they advocated that there would be fewer stomachs placing a demand on food resources.
That parts of the remains could be repurposed into clothing and blankets, as well as used to produce warmth.

Not a large mental leap to where one burns victims to produce energy, and the creation of Soylent Green.

They know abortion is evil. They are compelled to try to make something good of it and the way they have chosen is to postulate that using the fetal parts for "research" is for the 'greater good'. They (like the Nazis) have lost their humanity. To take an innocent life because it is inconvenient to the parents and rationalize it by telling yourself it is for 'life-saving research' is the apex of hypocrisy.

I refuse to believe that burning human tissue generates enough heat to generate electricity, without an additional heat source. And this explains the survival of many of my neighbors.

Little recycling story: an enterprising German scientist ("scientist") had come up with a way to flay and salvage human flesh from the lesser races, to be used for skin grafts on burned soldiers from the eastern front. Someone got him a lunch appointment with Hitler to discuss his research. The Fuehrer heard him out, thanked him for his efforts, and encouraged him to keep up the good work. Then, went into the next room and puked his guts out. Some things were too much even for him.

One of the reasons gas chambers were used was even SS death squad members were cracking up after machine gunning kids. They were having problems with guys getting hooked on drugs, or going on blackout benders and shooting themselves.

Of course, they hadn't been indoctrinated since birth to see human beings as 'things'. They'd come to Naziism as teens or adults, and there were bits morality and conscience still there. PP, ISIS and such groups today are under no such... Limitations.

Gas chambers and crematoria were used because it was murder on an industrial scale, and the war materiel necessary to kill the Jews and others was needed on the war fronts. And it was simply more efficient.

There are thousands of documented cases of SS and regular army soldiers making the murders into parties, competitions, etc. The suggestion of the existence of "morality and conscience" is laughable.

78 What is fascinating (maybe not the right word) is that Germany was a Christian nation during the rise of Hitler. That an entire country could just participate or allow such sick behavior is really something. Many Germans grew up understanding the 10 commandments, and yet look what happened. How is it possible that so many people could suddenly start ignoring their own consciences and look away or participate in such cruelty toward other human beings?

Posted by: L, Elle at September 19, 2015 10:06 AM (2x3L+)

79 Normal people would just increase the food supply.

Interesting point. Big essay recently -- has it come up here? -- about how the national socialists were all about the German version of "the family farm" and distrusted all attempts to streamline agricultural production. That's why they needed so much raum for their leben. They liked harvesting wheat with wooden forks. Everything else was a Jew plot, or Sovietization. Maybe both.

How little things change, huh?

I guess the anti-semitism, always strong in Europe (and America, for that matter) was an easy unifying emotion.

93 What is fascinating (maybe not the right word) is that Germany was a Christian nation during the rise of Hitler. That an entire country could just participate or allow such sick behavior is really something. Many Germans grew up understanding the 10 commandments, and yet look what happened. How is it possible that so many people could suddenly start ignoring their own consciences and look away or participate in such cruelty toward other human beings?

From the 1850's on, the German intellectuals were on the vanguard of the atheism front. (Except in Bavaria) By the 1930's Christianity was waning in northern Germany. Those same ideologies permeated the socialist movements.

We've already seen his hard exterior AND his soft underbelly countless times. Fortunately for him, many see this as two sides of the same coin and more authentic than if he were just one dimensional.

In contrast, Carly is in the process of introducing herself. When we see her past positions conflicting with her current ones, unfortunately for her, they do not appear to be different sides of the same coin- they appear duplicitous.

In short, opposition research will do way more damage to someone like Carly than it will to someone like Trump.

Carly wasn't playing the gender card at all in your video, since she wasn't running for anything. She was expressing admiration for Hillary there, and on two levels: one, as a women Carly liked seeing Hillary pushing society to change because it would help other women by example, and two, Carly admired some of what Hillary was actually trying to accomplish.

This may not sit well with you, but that was then and this is now (paraphrasing Ruth Marcus). Carly has changed her view on Hillary and she says Benghazi was a turning point for her, because she believes Hillary lied blatantly, repeatedly and callously.

People do change, but I certainly understand if voters like you are cynical about the depth of the conversion if it happens in the middle of a campaign.

I am not entertaining supporting Trump as a person as much as a strategy. Look at what happened yesterday- both "conservative" AND liberal media, as well as politicians from BOTH sides piled on Trump for NOT saying something- for not defending Obama?

That kind of coordinated attack on one candidate from both parties makes me wonder... WHY do they want to take him out so badly?

A lot of Nazi mysticism was tailor-made and refitted to events of the time -- which also happens "as we run men down to-day." You can't escape the fact that a lot of otherwise normal Catholics and Lutherans joined right up, although you certainly could say that some medieval mystic recasting of Christian archetypes was the driving factor. 154 Is there any truth to the old myth that the Apache men gave prisoners to the women, for the real torture. I seem to recall Plains Indians hated fighting the Apache for that reason especially.

Can't recall anything that support that about the Apaches, who were horrific all the same. I've heard the same story about other cultures - it might be a bit of folklore that just gets attached to different groups depending on who is telling the story.

Women did participate in torture in NE tribes, and James Adair, writing in 1776 about the Southeastern tribes, does mention a course of treatment for prisoners in which women played the primary role, IIRC.

I am not entertaining supporting Trump as a person as much as a
strategy. Look at what happened yesterday- both "conservative" AND

NOT saying something- for not defending Obama?

That kind of coordinated attack on one candidate from both parties makes me wonder... WHY do they want to take him out so badly?

When people on politics forums have used the phrase, it usually is. It's the same fools who say they go into RC churches and p*** in the holy water and defecate on the altar-which of course-the little weenies don't. It's merely to get a rise out of Christians. Need I mention that these same people love Obama and at least until a year ago think Hillary is divine. i don't hang around on boards with those folks, so i don't know their opinion of her now.

This is a generalization, but my experience with conservative Atheists is that they are not as puerile and crudely sophomoric as left wing Atheists. They just don't believe in God. That's because they don't put the State in place of God and also realize that if Judeo Christianity falls it falls to either autocratic Muslims or autocratic secular fascists

She's not my candidate, but if she was a GOPe plant, she'd have more money.

I think she's gotten increased coverage because she's campaigned effectively. Also, Trump clumsily taking swings at her drew more attention to her campaign.

I went from being mildly offended that she was the "token girl" (I'd have preferred Governor Haley) to being impressed by her staying on message and, as I mentioned above, by her appearing to have a core conservative value that I share: namely, being stridently pro-life. That latter thing is certainly NOT a quality of the Beltway set.

I would like her to beef up her campaign page with some description of what she thinks are the top challenges facing the U.S. and what she'd do about it, but of the complete outsider candidates (as defined by people who've never held political office), she's my top pick.

That has been true in the past, but I am watching in amazement that so far, Trump has not been able to be harassed, harangued, or embarrassed out the race yet due to anything he has said. Here are the reasons for that in my opinion:

1) Trump is largely seen by his accomplishments and not his words. You don't have sky scrapers in the most heavily regulated real estate markets if you aren't incredibly competent and surrounded by talent.

2) Other candidates fall into the "you must apologize" trap set by the left because they are surrounded by the Consultant Class that gets paid whether they win or lose.

3) The GOPe has no sway with Trump. They can't withhold funds and force him out, because Trump isn't using their funds.

If we want to rebuild our party and our nation, there is a lot of demolition that needs to take place first. That just *might* be Trump's role. Time will tell.

And they will not give it up. The insane mental gyrations they attempt to employ are proof that they're evil on legs.

They refuse to acknowledge the humanity of the children they seek to kill. I note their tired, false mantra of "women's health" and not one word is uttered about the dead babies.

I like the Black Beard/pirate theme. My wife and I honeymooned at Ocracoke Island, NC, and have taken our family there numerous times. That's where BB used to hide out, in a concealed harbor, Silver Lake. That's where the British discovered him, and after a bloody battle killed him. They said his head circled the ship three times, still alive and muttering mute curses.
We went out on a fishing charter, and our guide pointed to a patch of water and said "that's where they got Black beard." But he said it in a way that sounded like it happened yesterday, not in 1718.

Why would she need more money? If she was just there to go out an attack Hillary that doesn't require much infrastructure to actually mount a campaign. You just need her going out there and getting on shows and calling out Hillary. Which was precisely what she was doing before Trump entered the race.

Why not give her just enough money, or a promise to cover expenses later as long as once she drops out she immediately endorses the establishment choice and could see her getting a nice position, possibly even the vice presidency.

Because, politics.

For that reason alone I would never, ever, EVER vote for him. Terri died an agonizing death and Jeb could have, but didn't, stop it.

That once he gets the nomination, the spell will wear off and the Dems will throw EVERYTHING at Trump ( I do believe stuff is being held by the DNC/ Media to be used only if Trump gets the nomination) and they will go down in flames anyway.
My belief is
Trump gets nomination? GOP loses.
Trump gets taken out in favor of Jeb!!? GOP loses
Trump goes Third Party? GOP loses.
Trump endorses Dem candidte? GOP loses.
Sanders loses Dem nod and goes Third Party? It's 2000 all over again.

I can't see Cruz or Walker doing much firing. Maybe Cruz but he's going nowhere in the polls. Trump I think right now is bleeding support to Fiorina and Carson. Carson is really just awful. His supporters just love him though and are sticking with him. A Trump/ Fiorina ticket would be a juggernaut. They file take down Hilary in a debate so fast and mercilessly just on Benghazi, PP, and the bathroom server. It would be awesome to watch
Posted by: L, Elle at September 19, 2015 10:59 AM (2x3L+)

Great thoughts, but I believe the polling reveals movement from Carson to Carly, while Trump still continues to gain a bit.

The GOPe stacked the cards against Ted Cruz (my first pick for a long time) way back last year when they changed primary rules, dates and delegate distribution. Some of this was hidden in the Cromnibus- right after we gave the Senate the majority, they used it to box out Ted.

It appears Cruz knows this, which is why he has not criticized Trump and invited him to the anti Iran deal rally. I don't know, but it might be possible that a Trump/Cruz ticket is in the works?

If Teflon Don could be out front taking the slings and arrows while Cruz goes behind the scenes and dismantles anything Obama, I'm really quite happy with that.

Yep, I've known several. They a make great aunts but you can always sense the underlying pain.

SIL and her sister had 5 miscarriages between them, each was heartbreaking for the whole family, they both stopped trying because they couldn't face the pain another time.

We named our daughter after my brother (whose wife never had kids), he would have be the best dad. He just lights up every time he sees his namesake but I can always see the pain behind my SILs smiles, although I know she loves that niece is named after my brother.

*******
Posted by: Y-not at September 19, 2015 10:51 AM (0Iy+I)

Do not underestimate this woman.
As you point out, she got into the race before Trump.
As several point out, she has some 'splainin to do about supporting Hillary!, etc., and about poor business decisions.

I suspect Trump has already made the arguments about switching positions (D to R) for her, beginning with buying off politicians and ending with business practices and reasons.

A little tuning and wordsmithing and another razor sharp speech will probably come out, making her look like Reagan and Trump look like Al Gore.

She has made Trump blush once already, and now knows which parts of his defenses work well.

I trust her far more than I trust Trump.
I think Trump would love the presidency because if you think "the Clinton Foundation" is a cash cow, just imagine what you could rake in selling ex-presidential real estate.

As a campaign, she's been damn near perfect. She is prepared, and able to think on her feet as well. Connecting Iran to PP in a response is impressive nimbleness. She used the standard Trump insisted upon for Jeb against Trump one minute later. The way she sliced and diced Chris Matthews. She is very talented. I know she has the HP and Lucent records to defend.

I just want to know that a politician will use those talents to advance some voter interests, and I'm not sure anyone can know with any certainty one way or the other with Carly. That PP answer gives some hope. I know she is not the type of outsider people assume, or she portrays.

Right now she's on the top of my list. I liked her since she was trolling Hillary at the start. She is an impressive person. They all have some weaker areas they need to defend, and she looks like the candidate that prepared herself the most, so I want to see how well she does it.

441 Sir Martin Gilbert died earlier this year. He was Churchill's official biographer, but IMO the most important book he wrote was "The Holocaust". This is a hard book to read because the detail is so gruesomely overwhelming it forces you to acknowledge the existence of evil on a massive scale, you are left wondering how people can possibly do these things, in many cases eagerly, to other human beings. It really is also a warning of how easily people can find justifications for the most evil practices and how they think they can claim innocence as long as they are not participating personally. Highly relevant to the discussion. Book should be required reading in high school, fluff like state history like required in my state and many others could be discarded to make room for a really important work.

RIP Sir Martin.

I remember rooting for the Mets in 1973, when they won the NL East with an 82-79 record, the lowest winning percentage in history. They still managed to take the World Series all the way to Game 7.

I recall reading in the last week of the season that it was mathematically possible for there to be a five-way tie for first in that division. Who was #6? My Phillies, of course.

447 Lizzy - thank you for the video.

We have a President that voted several times in the Illinois State Senate to allow the shelving of babies that survived an abortion. In a closet, with no medical or nutritional care. You may have read the story of one nurse who held the baby until it died because she did not want it to be alone.

It is heartbreaking and monstorous. We will pay a huge price for this if we can't turn around the character and morality of our nation.

452 The Broncos have a very good defense and an aged quarterback with diminishing skills. I don't know if anyone better was available.

Manning requires excellent pass protection and a good running game to offset his shortcomings. He is still a great field general and leader. He has a young o-line. If they improve, Manning will do better. If they don't, he won't.

Beating the Chiefs at home is quite an accomplishment. Manning threw one interception, Elway had a habit of throwing about 4 a game when he played there.

458 The thing with these apparent "plants", and the agitprop they generate ... the clock kid, looks like obvious plan. And it seems they must have everything from news releases and WH visits planned out in advance.

Same with the Trump question ... full day attack, almost like it was coordinated. Of course some things just "go viral", but these things seem to have more coordination.

I'd like to see Trump actually put a team together ... Giuliani for one, and show he can acquire real substance on the issues. He is doing some of that, but in debate it seems he is not up to speed like some others, who have clearly been rehearsing. Maybe Trump is just a buffoon, but he's in the best position to take on the establishment. He just needs to really "apply himself" to the CEO/statesman side of being POTUS, not just the reality show celebrity electioneering side.

Or maybe he doesn't have that side and is just a spoiled rich kid. In which case I have to hope Cruz isn't too hated by his own party, or the Walker revives, or accept Carly despite her moderate record, and the fact she hasn't had a job lately.

459 Young Ahmed with the Radio Shack clock kit he "invented" has a great future ahead of him. He'll get into an elite college (thanks to a nice letter of recommendation from ex-president Obama). He'll blame his struggle for good grades (because he doesn't strike me as that bright) on "racism" and "Islamophobia." But the school administration and Diversity Coordinators will drag him across the finish line.

That, sadly, will be the high point of Ahmed's life. After that he'll have a series of jobs which he will fail at, blaming "racism" and "Islamophobia" again. Eventually he will either find his natural level as a token at some heavily Lefty outfit which won't care how bad he is -- or he'll "self-radicalize" and get killed.
