The Administration is doing just enough damage to end her candidacy. That's the stick; presumably a carrot is also in play, some behind-the-scenes bribe to induce her to get out. If the DOJ gave her and her cronies everything they deserve, the damage would reach throughout the Democrat party.

Over at polyamory advocacy sex blog The Federalist, the second article this week having a conniption because someone said their favorite video game character is trans:

The Contradiction Of Claiming Samus Aran Is Trans

Let me be quite clear. I have written articles defending the transgendered community in the past, but ... Metroids Samus Aran remains canonically a born woman. She remains a role model for millions of girls. If some people born male happen to identify with her as well, its of no concern to me, but that identification must be born from the belief that Samus is a woman, and that they, too, seek to be included as women.

117 "All Scientists Should Be Militant Atheists"

Oh good grief. Just from that, it sounds like someone who understands neither science nor faith.

Science, per se, just studies material stuff. On that which is supermaterial, the study of nature can never yield any conclusions, nor even entertain a theory.

Religion - the personal experience of relationship with Deity - starts with "God is." Not as a theory to be proved, not a hypothesis to refute, just that axiom, from which the rest of your theology must be divined (swidt?).

So, of course you can't see God in nature, or in humankind, or in personal experience, if you start with "God isn't."

144 Who said it last night, that militant evangelizing atheists first posit a hairy-thunderer god and call that impossible, and then when invited to actually study up, claim it's so silly that it's beneath them?

This is how Bad-Science Atheism runs. For a long time, uneducated people looked at things they couldn't figure out, and said, well, God must have done that. Their notion of That Which Cannot Be Understood was vast. So, partisans of organized enquiry come along and figure, we can explain most of that stuff, ergo, no God. They can't see the flaw in that reasoning?

Priests, theologians, and churchmen in general have certainly been guilty of "appeal to authority" over and over. Science buffs are just as bad, and getting worse.

Oh, and since quite a few members of the Horde seem to be into the low carb thing, let me put in a plug for a little dohcikey I picked up at CVS the other day, the Veggetti. (I guess there are Ronco type commercials for this gadget on TV, but I haven't seen them.) It lets you cut zucchini and other veggies into long spaghetti-like strands. I tried it last night, sauteed the strands and had them with a tomato and mushroom sauce, Italian chicken sausage and a little grated Parmesan and I can assure you the result was good.

Whole Foods is selling "Paleo bowls" of zucchini, summer squash and carrots cut in exactly the same way - and they're charging something like $3.50 for a bowl of plain veggies. But it's very easy to do it yourself.

166 Stringer Davis: evangelizing atheists first posit a hairy-thunderer god and call that impossible...

Pretty much always, when someone describes the God they don't believe in, I have to agree, I wouldn't believe in that God, either.

-storytime-

Father of a friend once got into talking religion with me, out of the blue. He had come to America after WW2 with ten bucks in his pocket and a tattoo number on his arm, and built up quite a good business.

He told me that he had been taught that God sat up there on that big throne, with the book of Judgment, and if you ever did anything wrong, just once, you were doomed to hell.

Whoa.

I don't remember exactly what I said, but somehow I was inSpired to suggest that there was another idea of God that "a fellow" talked about two thousand years ago - that portrayed God as Father not Tyrant. Talked about forgiveness and stuff. I think I did. I was on auto-pilot.

I'll never forget his reply, though. From a glib, shallow-seeming businessman came this startling sincere reply.

"I'll think about that, (mindful), I really will."

Wow.

I hope he did.

175 Another stupid cliche from the militant atheists: "I figured out when I was a kid that this religion thing was bullshit."

It's usually said boastfully - I was smarter than these Christian fools when I was 15!

In fact, I too thought religion was BS when I was 15 (not wanting to haul my ass out of bed on Sunday morning had a lot to do with it). When I was 15, i also thought the Kennedys were all great, that there was something to astrology, and that when boys said "I love you" in the backseat of a car they really meant it. I believed a lot of crap in other words, because I was 15.

How adults can think that saying "I made up my mind about this as a kid and I've never reflected any further on the matter" makes them look good or intelligent, I don't know.

181 @170 This. Changes. Everything.

Country, that is a good one, and of course I'm being a curmudgeon a-purpose. In what would otherwise have been his rock-n-roll years, my dad was a major Hank Sr. fan. And the old timers Hated Hated that stuff. Bradley Kincaid was the Man.

It's just part of country music. You learn to enjoy it, after a few decades.

187 In fact, I too thought religion was BS when I was 15 (not wanting to

I was 15, i also thought the Kennedys were all great, that there was
something to astrology, and that when boys said "I love you" in the
backseat of a car they really meant it. I believed a lot of crap in
other words, because I was 15.

That reminds me of that old line (paraphrasing from what I remember): When I was 18 my father knew absolutely nothing. By the time I turned 25 I was amazed at how much the old man learned in the last 7 years.

the justice department is throwing the cover that Hillary was allowed to delete personal email
Posted by: skip

Government lawyers made the assertion in a filing with the US district court in Washington as part of a lawsuit filed by a conservative watchdog group

"There is no question that former Secretary Clinton had authority to delete personal emails without agency supervision, she appropriately could have done so even if she were working on a government server," attorneys from the Justice Departments civil division wrote.

Judicial Watch had requested a court order from the judge to preserve Clintons emails. But the justice department said there was no need for such an order given Clinton had the right to delete personal emails and those messages are not subject to the public records law.

About the idea of God the Father, 'nother story time.

Taxi ride in Chicago. Got the impression the cabbie was "Islamic," or raised that way, whatever he was by then. (This was long before 9/11, btw.)

We somehow got to talking about God, and I managed at some point to say something about God as Father. Driver scowled and angrily said, "If he's anything like my father...!" So much said in so few words, there. Sad.

But, we had talked about the cabbie's son, whose picture was on the dashboard. He was so proud of the boy. Last thing, as I'm paying, I managed to say something like, "Not like the father you remember having. Like the father you want to be for your son."

I got no "I'll think about it" on that one. He just drove off.

I swear they obsess over this because deep down they know it is impossible, therefore, they never have to be accountable for failure.

255 The "Pats cheating" storyline has meant that nobody at ESPN has had to work in 7 months, just repeat rumors, recycle them through different shows and then discuss the recycling of the rumors, repeat. They're not going to give up on that angle until they absolutely have to. And as long as they keep at it, all of Goodell's and ESPN's fanbois will be thrilled that they don't have to switch the channel to the Kardashians when they want their gossip fix.

256 So they're going to replace it now, right?

Of course, but now it's somehow my fault.

Michaels, and whoever it was in the booth with him the other night were particularly nasty about it. Talking about how teams that come into Foxboro always seem to have SOMETHING go wrong, and they would not stop showing a steamed Mike Tomlin pacing the sidelines with an apparently useless headset on.

I took that to mean the league office sent orders to NBC to talk up this crap.

Goodall needs to go.

260 "...Nothing about properly rocking him to sleep?..."

I'm thinking they both have to get up in the morning and go to work. I know I had a difficult time doing that after a proper rocking after I turned 35.

"Rock On!"

247 1st game in the NFL season and they are already accusing the Pat's of cheating.

Frankly I think they should accuse them every game. Soley based on the entertainment value of listening to the massholes bitch and moan and whine. And whine. And whine.

And whine.

Whining has been proven to get you what you want in every spectrum of American life. It's only natural it got into sports.

who don't have evil intent, they still think we are inferior beings in
some way - more racist, dumber, clinging to guns and religion, etc.
