Polls news:

One of politics most reliable polls has found first-time candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson galloping to big leads in the Iowa caucuses. The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll, released Saturday night, also finds one-time front-runner Scott Walker losing the dominance he's had all year.

The new poll finds Trump at 23 percent. Carson has surged to 18 percent Walker tumbled from 17 percent support to 8 percent.

There has been outcry in the Taiwanese capital over the use of a Japanese porn actress on its public transport travelcards.

The cards, which feature an image of Yui Hatano, are used to pay for journeys on Taipei's metro and bus network.

Meanwhile, in Millennial fashion news 'n photos:

As genderless fashion continues to build momentum across the industry, theres one garment helping make unisex chic easily accessible for both men and women. Yes, its the oh-so-utilitarian jumpsuit.

Retro 70s jumpsuits have been on trend for women for several seasons, but after designers at this past New York Fashion Week Mens showed several wearable variations on the trend theyve officially arrived back on the scene for the boys.

Also: "The best way for guys to embrace the trend is with simplicity -- too many

33 I see what I assume are illegals virtually every week for the last 20 years including yesterday. I don't know they are, I don't have control of them. They most often speak very little English but for workers they are very good. The guys yesterday and for a few days last week traveled 2 hrs to get to the job I was on, they were i guess in their early 20's. I don't begrudge them for wanting to be here but if illegal they shouldn't be allowed.

The Planned Parenthood debacle is so intertwined with government funding through Medicade reimbursements, I'm doubtful Boehner and McConnell are capable of leading the effort to defund.

Why confront the Obama machine when its simply more prudent to call for defunding while giving reach arounds and oral platitudes to the unwashed members of the proletariat who fund this criminal enterprise.

=====

I'm back and forth on it. I agree he is in the sense that he'd reach for a government solution to a given problem, but I don't see him doing that just to expand government power into unnecessary areas like a politician would if a more efficient means were available. Also I can easily imagine him shutting down some inefficient things, or exposing abuses inhis You're Fired way. Some things he might shut down could result in untoward consequences, like were he to cancel some foreign aid or demand a restructuring of obligations dependent on that aid. But I confess to liking that possibility so could be wishful thinking.

This is also done with immigration and gay marriage with varying degrees of success. But when it comes to men's fashion, it's always a big nothingburger. 92 MSNBC scaled back its coverage of the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina because Brian Williams "misremembered" that he saw a dead body float past his hotel while he was there.

The cable network, which inherited Williams as a breaking news anchor after he was bumped from "NBC Nightly News" following an exhaustive internal probe into his tall tales, decided against sending its key anchors to New Orleans, to avoid awkward references to the Williams scandal.

Williams had been due to start his new job at MSNBC in August, but that date was pushed back to mid-September. Meanwhile, NBC has a big team on the ground in New Orleans, including Williams' successor, Lester Holt, who is anchoring "NBC Nightly News" live from Jackson Square on Friday.

An insider told us, "MSNBC is sensitive about Brian Williams and his reporting on Katrina. None of their anchors are there this weekend. Brian's mid-September start date was carefully scheduled to avoid the Katrina anniversary, among other considerations."

93 As genderless fashion continues to build momentum across the industry, theres one garment helping make unisex chic easily accessible for both men and women. Yes, its the oh-so-utilitarian burka....

Burkas have been on trend for women for several seasons, but after designers at this past New York Fashion Week Mens showed several wearable variations on the trend they've officially arrived back on the scene for the boys.

The best way for guys to embrace the trend is with simplicity -- too many extra accessories ruin the look's clean lines.

Apparently homeschoolers are overweight, illiterate Christians hiding behind homeschooling to abuse and neglect their children while indoctrinating them with creationism and depriving them of social skills. As bad is the notion that if homeschoolers aren't doing anything wrong they shouldn't fight against government regulations and testing, including home visits. .

Interestingly, when homeschoolers explain that there are regulations that vary state by state and that kids take the same tests as everyone else at the end of high school, somehow those regulations and tests (and the data gathered from them) don't count to the public school advocates. I don't understand the almost blind devotion some people had to public schools, even ignoring the massive waste, bureaucracy, bullying, and sex abuse by teachers....why it's like they are in a cult or something.

Those inclined to go over the edge have been simmering in their hatred stew and have been listening to Obama, Farrakhan and others. Bad times...bad, bad times. I have a brother in law enforcement (on the federal level). I worry about him.

That was... horrifying. Suits suitable only for Herb the salesman guy on WKRP. The leprechaun green was stunning.

I was busy making a complete mess of my life that year, and missed out on those fine fashion trends.

"Following the rules is racist."

It hurts everyone in the end. The college degree is worthless when you know there was no effort behind it or decreasing standards to obtain. People are getting wise to that.

The police murder in Texas was horrific, and if the States Attorney is able to elicit a statement from the killer that he was influenced by the BLM comments about killing cops, the State of Texas should issue warrants for the arrest and extradition of the BLM miscreants and charge them with Solicitation to Murder.

Unsure of the penalty for this charge in Texas, but hopefully its at least life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Also, the possibility for conviction in Harris County is strong, even with a large black population. Get 'um boy!

There is not a bit of difference between Barry, Jesse Jackson and Calypso Louie. All race baiting POS. And they want the whole country to pay to further their agenda.

There's a little amusement park right outside of Green Bay, Wisconsin which somehow still offers rides (mainly toddler rides, although there are a few appeal to older kids) for 25 cents apiece. I told my niece and nephew there a few times and the outing cost me under $12 including ice cream and sodas. While I was watching them play in the kiddie pool, I struck up a conversation with a local woman there who had 4 children under 5(two sets of fraternal twins). She said, "I live here in the summer."

176 I recently purchased two books, the first on recommendation of of a moron in a book thread; Bleachy-Haired Honky Bitch: Tales From A Bad Neighborhood

It, along with the companion book, Confessions of a Recovering Slut, are sitting atop a stack of other books I keep promising myself that I will read, including books by Sharyl Attkisson and Charles Cooke and assorted other books about life as a sheep rancher, project management, human resources, etc...

I'd better get busy.

Don't forget the media. They have enormous responsibility for this, with their slanted reporting and outright lies in the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases.

Come to think of it, the media are directly responsible for giving us Obama in the first place.

179 Some dumbass BLM by the name of Sunshine ? did a blog radio program last wee where she called for people to kill cops. She's also the one you see naked on the internet using the flag to wipe her ass. I'm hoping that they go after her for the deaths on cops bullshit.

180 Well, I just ordered "The English Novel" courses from The Great Courses, so I'll be boning up on my Fielding, Austin, Dickens, and Conrad for a while.

Let me put in a plug for the The Great Courses - I'm finding them wonderful. Although they can be expensive, they always have a sale going on (the download of the English Novel course is now $30., which is very good for 24 lectures) and they are great to watch or listen to when I'm on the treadmill or driving. All sorts of subjects are available -from art to theology to science to cooking.

One caveat: read the reviews before you order a course. I bought a course on Culinary History which is marred by the professor's obvious leftism (I assume most of the lecturers are leftists since they are college profs, but most manage to leave their political leanings out of these lectures). If I had read the reviews before I ordered the course, I would have known about his politicization of the topic and not ordered it.

My favorite lecturer so far is Robert Greenberg, who does almost all the lectures on classical music. The guy is a great speaker, funny and not at all stuffy and he doesn't mention politics at all. He's even made me take an interest in opera, a subject I knew and cared little about before I took his course, because he's so enthusiastic about it and so good at explaining it, that I couldn't keep but get drawn in.

I realize I'm sounding like a commercial, but really these courses are wonderful things. After I'm done with Greenberg's general music appreciation course, I've got his Beethoven course and courses on the Great Cathedrals of Europe and the art of the Louvre (and the English Novel) to get through.

It makes me look forward to exercising - and it's a lot more pleasurable than watching, say, the GOPe flacks on Fox.

181 In February 2013, he began checking grades for all the kids
participating in winter sports in the district, such as basketball,
wrestling and indoor track, and informing coaches of who would not be
allowed to play, Cincotta, who is white, says in court papers.

The effort prompted a call from the superintendent's assistant, who
slammed him as a "racist" and told him he was "trying to hurt black
kids," Cincotta alleges.

Following the rules is racist. War is peace.

Which is why once they are eligible to be recruited by colleges, they are quietly told that they need to spend a year in prep school before they can come on board for a big time college scholarship. Because they have been coasted through high school to allow them to play for the team.

There are more than a few players in D1 college football that spent a year in prep school after high school prior to getting signed.
