Apparently, the Marine injured by the Muzzie terrorist on a train yesterday is recovering well. A Brit paper says he suffered a hand injury, so not as bad as originally reported.
Took a while to find that. "Our" MFM doesn't seem to give a crap and, when they do bother to say something, drop a "suspected gunman -- whose motive was unknown -- was restrained by several passengers, including an American soldier" line. Had to go to a couple of news aggregation sites to get news that should matter to us...from the Brits. GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is beating Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in his own state, a new poll says. According to The Houston Chronicle, the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee commissioned the sampling. while Florida-based Gravis Marketing gathered its results. The poll found Trump leading Cruz with 24 percent support from registered Republican voters, compared to the Texas lawmakers 16 percent. The survey said that retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is the third choice among Texas Republicans, with 12 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), meanwhile, earns fourth place in the sampling, with 9 percent support. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina are next, tying with 5 percent of Texas Republicans apiece. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, finally, rank evenly with former Texas Govonor Rick Perry at 4 percent each. The Hill Rick Perry 2016: YATTA! Posted by: Laurie David's Cervix at August 22, 2015 06:50 AM (kdS6q) 16

Governing!: Sen. John Thune (R-SD) on Saturday touted the successes of Republicans since they took control of both chambers of Congress early this year. "Eight months into the Republican-led Congress, weve changed the way Washington operates," Thune said in the GOP weekly address. "Weve brought Democrats and Republicans together to solve the challenges facing Americas families, and weve been able to put forward real solutions as a result, he said. The Republican mentioned lawmakers passing a balanced budget resolution this year and legislation on trade, transportation and education reform, among others. Posted by: Bevel Lemelisk at August 22, 2015 06:45 AM (cD1Y4) That would rob the Republicans of one of the very few conservative senators we currently have. I don't think that's a good move. If Trump wins, we'll need Sessions in the Senate, maybe to take over the Senate majority leadership, if the Repubs can hold on to the Senate after all the eGOP bullshit those clowns have thrown at us over the years. The anger is not just because of the eGOPs rolling over for Obama and his country-destroying agenda, it goes back to the Bush years and beyond. People are fed up. But stealing a conservative voice from the Senate to win the presidency is not the way to go. Same goes for Cruz being the VP. If I had to say now who Trump should pick as a running mate, I'd go with Jindal, a person with executive experience as a governor and also a governor who fights against the overreach of D.C. Then there's the 'minority on the ticket' identity politics. But it wouldn't surprise me if Trump picked a woman as a running mate, and not necessarily Fiorina. I also don't think Trump is going to go along with any eGOP attempt to pick his running mate for him, another black mark against Trump (from the eGOP perspective). Posted by: MrScribbler at August 22, 2015 07:13 AM (SNBrO) That reminds me of the claim that Obama plays 3 dimensional chess, he's so smart. I played chess in high school, winning second in an area wide high school tournament; it was the Swiss system and I ended up beating the first place winner, each of us having 7-1 records; if I had lost that last match, I would have ended up 7th or worse. I have also attempted 3-D chess. I know how difficult that version of chess is, and I knew from that statement about Obama and chess that he couldn't play two dimensional checkers or even Candyland (without cheating). In other words, it's never too early for a game of chess. In fact, I'm like Ernie Banks when it comes to chess: Let's play two! Posted by: RickZ at August 22, 2015 07:21 AM (HEtQ3) 38

A new YouGov survey has found 31% of young Americans identify themselves as something other than 100% straight. Respondents were asked to put themselves on a Kinsey scale where 0 is exclusively heterosexual and 6 was completely homosexual. Overall 78% of Americans say that they are completely heterosexual while 4% say that they are completely homosexual. 16% of American adults say that they fall somewhere in between. In this group the bulk (10%) say that they are more heterosexual than homosexual while 3% put themselves in the middle and another 3% say that they are predominantly homosexual. Younger Americans are noticeably less likely than their elders to put themselves in a firm category. While 80% of all Americans say that they are completely heterosexual or homosexual only 66% of under-30s say the same. 29% of under-30s put themselves somewhere on the category of bisexuality. A similar YouGov survey was conducted in Great Britain last week and found almost half of 18-24 year olds dont identify as exclusively heterosexual. http://tinyurl.com/pjhms3v Posted by: Laurie David's Cervix at August 22, 2015 07:25 AM (kdS6q) 41

At the very least they should be forced to give a public statement on why they haven't and why and why their opponents/opponent are. Do the Estabyouinthebackers play ball? Yes they do which reminds me of the ball that they played on the Mississippi shutout. That being said they are no doubt scrambling for a backup plan being Hillary seems to be going down the pipe. She was the standby solution should Trump, Cruz, or Jindal win the primary. So to answer the question. They are going to play ball but it is the same old ballgame that pretty much everyone here has hated over the years. Posted by: Bevel Lemelisk at August 22, 2015 07:23 AM (cD1Y4)" For a Republican to get away with half of what Obama does, he would have to realize that the media and the federal bureaucracy are his enemies and act accordingly. Contract out 98% of what the federal bureaucracy does in DC to private companies with the awards being allocated by Congress in their home districts to get both parties in Congress on board. Only Congressmen from within commuting distance of DC will oppose that. I believe that there is some sort of FCC regulation that requires TV broadcasters to provide news programs as a public service. End that regulation. People who get their news from TV are worse informed than people who never watch the news. Tax newsprint. You shouldn't pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel? You shouldn't pick a fight with somebody who decides the tax rate per barrel of ink. Newspapers never run stories about deceptive practices among car dealers because car dealerships are their biggest advertisers. Teach newspapers to have the same attitude towards vindictive Republicans. Right now the only people who can be drafted are doctors. Extend that list of professions to journalists and tenured university professors. The funniest is the asexuals (or ace, heh) who need support because just because you're asexual doesn't mean you don't have sex (yes, they have tortured logic to this extent). Most of the descriptions just seem to describe somebody, usually women, with a low sex drive, or those who want an emotional relationship before they have sex. Young men are watching a lot more porn nowadays, to the point where it's causing sexual dysfunctions in young men, and a common theme in porn is that women are bisexual. If your a young woman looking to attract a man, that's what you have to compete with. You say that you're bisexual, "curious", "open-minded", etc in order to fulfill that fantasy. 144- What cracks my ass up is "asexuality" is this special awesome thing that gets praise, but "abstinence" (and I'm so old I remember when not having sex was considered normal for under-18s) is freaky and creepy and wrong. WTF. Abstinence is promoted by Jesusfreaks and unpeople. Therefore unless you want to be a hateful bigot you are asexual, not abstinent or chaste. And then there's demisexual, pansexual, aromantic (which seems to be a weird ass sect. You like sex, or not, but don't like relationships, or maybe you do. Jeb's low blow.
DES MOINES, Iowa-- Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday fired back at Jeb Bush, who a day earlier suggested the senator, who was born in Canada to a son of a Cuban immigrant and American-born mother, was the beneficiary of birthright citizenship. "I appreciate Governor Bush's concern. I would note it seems he's having a problem and getting confused between legal immigration and illegal immigration," Cruz told reporters here ahead of his soapbox speech at the Iowa State Fair. "With regard to legal citizens, I'm a United States citizen because my mother was a United States citizen, born in Wilmington, Delaware. And it has been the law since the beginning of the country that the children of American citizens born here or abroad are American citizens by birth." I can't believe he went there.
