GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is beating Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in his own state, a new poll says.
According to The Houston Chronicle, the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee commissioned the sampling. while Florida-based Gravis Marketing gathered its results.
The poll found Trump leading Cruz with 24 percent support from registered Republican voters, compared to the Texas lawmakers 16 percent.
The survey said that retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is the third choice among Texas Republicans, with 12 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), meanwhile, earns fourth place in the sampling, with 9 percent support. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina are next, tying with 5 percent of Texas Republicans apiece.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, finally, rank evenly with former Texas Govonor Rick Perry at 4 percent each.

I don't even look at US based news sites anymore .... if it's not in the Brit papers or mentioned here, I don't hear about it, except for leakage like the 2-minutes-of-news-at-the-top-of-the-hour on AM radio and so forth. Well, Drudge & Insty are in there too when I think about it.
Yet somehow I seem to know more about what's happening than 90% of the people I talk to.

That would rob the Republicans of one of the very few conservative senators we currently have. I don't think that's a good move. If Trump wins, we'll need Sessions in the Senate, maybe to take over the Senate majority leadership, if the Repubs can hold on to the Senate after all the eGOP bullshit those clowns have thrown at us over the years. The anger is not just because of the eGOPs rolling over for Obama and his country-destroying agenda, it goes back to the Bush years and beyond. People are fed up. But stealing a conservative voice from the Senate to win the presidency is not the way to go. Same goes for Cruz being the VP. If I had to say now who Trump should pick as a running mate, I'd go with Jindal, a person with executive experience as a governor and also a governor who fights against the overreach of D.C. Then there's the 'minority on the ticket' identity politics. But it wouldn't surprise me if Trump picked a woman as a running mate, and not necessarily Fiorina. I also don't think Trump is going to go along with any eGOP attempt to pick his running mate for him, another black mark against Trump (from the eGOP perspective).

My personal inclination would be to avoid Identity Politics (a Democrat stronghold), which leaves out Jindal, Fiorina, Cruz, etc. Get someone in there who's a good manager, who can open the store when the Boss isn't in town.

That reminds me of the claim that Obama plays 3 dimensional chess, he's so smart. I played chess in high school, winning second in an area wide high school tournament; it was the Swiss system and I ended up beating the first place winner, each of us having 7-1 records; if I had lost that last match, I would have ended up 7th or worse. I have also attempted 3-D chess. I know how difficult that version of chess is, and I knew from that statement about Obama and chess that he couldn't play two dimensional checkers or even Candyland (without cheating).

A new YouGov survey has found 31% of young Americans identify themselves as something other than 100% straight. Respondents were asked to put themselves on a Kinsey scale where 0 is exclusively heterosexual and 6 was completely homosexual.
Overall 78% of Americans say that they are completely heterosexual while 4% say that they are completely homosexual. 16% of American adults say that they fall somewhere in between. In this group the bulk (10%) say that they are more heterosexual than homosexual while 3% put themselves in the middle and another 3% say that they are predominantly homosexual.
Younger Americans are noticeably less likely than their elders to put themselves in a firm category. While 80% of all Americans say that they are completely heterosexual or homosexual only 66% of under-30s say the same. 29% of under-30s put themselves somewhere on the category of bisexuality.
A similar YouGov survey was conducted in Great Britain last week and found almost half of 18-24 year olds dont identify as exclusively heterosexual.

For a Republican to get away with half of what Obama does, he would have to realize that the media and the federal bureaucracy are his enemies and act accordingly.
Contract out 98% of what the federal bureaucracy does in DC to private companies with the awards being allocated by Congress in their home districts to get both parties in Congress on board. Only Congressmen from within commuting distance of DC will oppose that.
I believe that there is some sort of FCC regulation that requires TV broadcasters to provide news programs as a public service. End that regulation. People who get their news from TV are worse informed than people who never watch the news.
Tax newsprint. You shouldn't pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel? You shouldn't pick a fight with somebody who decides the tax rate per barrel of ink. Newspapers never run stories about deceptive practices among car dealers because car dealerships are their biggest advertisers. Teach newspapers to have the same attitude towards vindictive Republicans. Right now the only people who can be drafted are doctors. Extend that list of professions to journalists and tenured university professors. There are remote crossroads in Afghanistan that need to be guarded by 40 year old reporters with an M16 and five rounds of ammunition.

We both chuckled about an overweight upper 50's white guy trying to pass it off as a recent battle wound.

The funniest is the asexuals (or ace, heh) who need support because just because you're asexual doesn't mean you don't have sex (yes, they have tortured logic to this extent). Most of the descriptions just seem to describe somebody, usually women, with a low sex drive, or those who want an emotional relationship before they have sex. Yes, they feel the need to create a sexual identity for those who want and emotional connection rather that just a fuck buddy.

After that, she's been an arrogant, snot-nosed know it all brat. And, has done nothing good since. As a matter of fact, in retrospect, her Juno role was not very good, very boring, but it fit the part, and then you find later, that's all she's got. No depth.
All of her awards mostly revolve around Juno. She's a Canadian actress.
Other sort of major roles was in Inception, and an X-Men movie. Both big money-makers.
