Agricultural workers are in a completely separate visa category from everyone else called H2A. Most are Mexican and Central American.
H2A is very highly regulated. It is pretty difficult to find people who are willing to do actual stoop labor , picking crops by hand.
H2a is also subject to abuses including overstays as most crop harvesting happens in a pretty predictable seasonal cycle.
Once the season is over ,and in violation of the law, H2A overstays frequently hang around after the season and flood rural communities' job markets which aren't exactly booming in the first place.
So you know, if you need to make money in a rural area and the Mexicans have all the odd jobs covered , there is always the meth lab option. Which is nice....

But dang...I worked for a smallish sports interest that decided they "wanted to go to the next level," and hired a bunch of former execs from WalMart and B of A. Nearly all "pursued other interests" within a year, leaving behind a trail of layoffs and motivational posters, and taking sweet severance deals with them.

Basically, the BML/Snitches get stitches/Dincee Nuffin cycle of violins has really unfortunately become background noise to the life of the city.
And as you said, it only really rises to a level of noteworthiness when a child, or other apparently innocent person is injured or killed.
Which is really a pretty horrible way to go through day to day life if one thinks about it.
Yet, here we are with the BLM conga line of chanters demanding that we stop the senseless......
Well, actually I don't really know what it is that they are demanding.
Perhaps one day, I will see the movement embrace the understand that the two most dangerous threats to survival in a black male's life cycle is Planned Parenthood up till birth, and another black male between the ages of 17-28.

When I was in my early 20's my cousin was the front desk manager at a casino in Atlantic City and he got reduced rate rooms for his mother and I at whichever casino it was. We toured several of them. The one most over the top was, IMO, the Golden Nugget where the barmaids in the casino looked like I imagine better dressed Western bordello girls looked.
The ladies in the photo look like a combination of that and something from Tolouse-Lautrec (sp?)

Just a couple of weeks ago, Larry Elder tweeted something negative about Trump. I wrote him back saying, "Larry, you're one of my favorites, I think you're smart and you'll come around on Trump". Last night, Larry Elder, indeed, was saying good things about Trump winning over some of the black vote.
