There was a major terrorist attack on Sept. 11 2012 and the collective media shrugged and allowed the administration to successfully blame it on a video.

53 One nice thing about Trumps immigration plan, it sets up a collision course between the GOPe candidates and himself.

The public is in Trumps corner so if team DOPE starts coming with a nation of immigrants crap I think they will be toast.

Also it sets up a nice battle between him and the king and queen of H1b and they will have to explain why foreigners are more deserving of jobs than Americans.

I'll tell you if he puts out more position papers like that he'll have the nomination sown up by November.

59 Morning Joe is great this morning. They highlighted the fact that Trump is now doing better against Hillary than Jeb: Trump 45% vs Hillary 51%; Jeb 43% vs Hillary 52%. Ha! Suck it GOPe!

Michael Steel said that Trump bringing his chopper to IA and offering rides was showing that the billionaire brings his toys and we can play with them, too; that he was reversing all the demonizing of the rich that's been going on. This brings to mind AGAIN the point that Bill Whittle made way back in December 2012: if you're a rich candidate, OWN IT, brag about the jobs you've created, brag about all the taxes you pay that funds welfare/the poor.

Trump puts a smile on my face. I haven't been this happy talking politics since... ever.

In !Jeb! news:

Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush said Tuesday that the government should have broad surveillance powers of Americans and private technology firms should cooperate better with intelligence agencies to help combat "evildoers."

At a national security forum in the early voting state of South Carolina, Bush put himself at odds with Republican congressional leaders who earlier this year voted to end the National Security Agency's bulk collection of phone records.

The former Florida governor said Congress should revisit its changes to the Patriot Act, and he dismissed concerns from civil libertarians who say the program violated citizens' constitutionally protected privacy rights.

68 Washington Post: "[Trump] has followed up weeks of doomsaying about illegal immigrants with a call for an unprecedented crackdown"

This was a brilliant strategy by Trump: he didn't start the convo w/"Deport them alllll!!!" he started with the WALL, that got people listening, then he talked about the murders and rapes, then Kate Steinle which personalized it. Now that he's told everyone the TRUTH about illegals, now he says "deport". People may not have embraced "deport" so massively just a few weeks ago. But Trump's been schooling the voters. They are ready now for drastic measures.

Trump really did take the illegals from "rock star" status in the media to "send 'em all home" in just a few weeks.

He has solved no problems and he's kicked the can down the road just as much as the previous bozos.

And the net effect of this is that he has no signature popular policy that another GOP candidate for governor can use to run for governor.

So the next governor will be a Donk and right out of the gate will work with the dem controlled legislature to ram through newtown style gun control, gas taxes, and all of the myriad other leftist crap they have had pent up for eight years.

Look at it this way, Trump's words about Mexicans, illegals what have you seem to be - anecdotally - resonating with black America.

If he says the truth loud and crude, maybe that's what it takes to reach the LIV crowd.

And please, I am not implying blacks are loud and crude.

Posted by: J.J. Sefton at August 19, 2015 07:26 AM (St6BJ)

110 Trump really did take the illegals from "rock star" status in the media to "send 'em all home" in just a few weeks.
********

He should start talking about how 40% of all murder convictions in Florida are of illegal alien defendants. Or how nationwide, illegal aliens commit 37% of the murders in the U.S., while accounting for only 4-8% of the nation's population.

If any other group were committing violent crimes in the U.S. on the scale that illegal aliens are, it would be front page news every day.

That is very sad.

Last year in the lobby of my building the management installed a bank of yuuge-ass television screens. As I was walking past yesterday some middle-aged woman walking alongside me sees the carnage in Thailand on CNN and just shrugs, like "same shit, different day." Comfortably numb.

Maybe the small, human tragedies will wake us up.

By letting the market work.

There's a lot of people who've put their money on the command economy and the ability to game the system by manipulating it. To them, having to pay prevailing wages and compete for labor/votes would be a disaster.

Wonder how the WaPoo feels about the 15-buck minimum wage?

What I find most interesting about the "editorial" is the principal major flaw in its reasoning: this is a newspaper that led the charge to decapitate Richard Nixon because he was a CROOOOOK!, and now advocates massive violation of federal and state laws.

I'm sure they're down with Shrillery and Choom Boy, too.

Think about it. If you are a Democrat lawmaker, you cannot pass anything on your own. You need Gope to push you over the top, which they have.

Gope should be celebrating Trump, not criticizing him for supporting the Democrats.

219 Just so you know :

Agricultural workers are in a completely separate visa category from everyone else called H2A. Most are Mexican and Central American.

H2A is very highly regulated. It is pretty difficult to find people who are willing to do actual stoop labor , picking crops by hand.

H2a is also subject to abuses including overstays as most crop harvesting happens in a pretty predictable seasonal cycle.

Once the season is over ,and in violation of the law, H2A overstays frequently hang around after the season and flood rural communities' job markets which aren't exactly booming in the first place.

So you know, if you need to make money in a rural area and the Mexicans have all the odd jobs covered , there is always the meth lab option. Which is nice....

Like the couple who robbed and killed a man they lured through a casual encounters craigslist ad, the mother stabbed by a broken broomstick while surrounded by a hooting crowd in broad daylight, or the hooker who was tossed off a bridge into the river and swept out to the middle of the lake then found months later. That, in a nutshell, is what irks me so much about our big-business executive class.

And I acknowledge part of it is envy, and that's on me.

But dang...I worked for a smallish sports interest that decided they "wanted to go to the next level," and hired a bunch of former execs from WalMart and B of A. To say they sucked at everything would be an understatement. Nearly all "pursued other interests" within a year, leaving behind a trail of layoffs and motivational posters, and taking sweet severance deals with them.

When you're a small business, sh*t's gottas get DONE. These people, with their countless meetings and buzzwords, have no idea how to DO anything.

Basically, the BML/Snitches get stitches/Dincee Nuffin cycle of violins has really unfortunately become background noise to the life of the city.

And as you said, it only really rises to a level of noteworthiness when a child, or other apparently innocent person is injured or killed.

Which is really a pretty horrible way to go through day to day life if one thinks about it.

Yet, here we are with the BLM conga line of chanters demanding that we stop the senseless......
