Yes. And I like the color balance better in the second version so I'm going with that.

The rape in the top one has too much orange in it.

Gone to the fields

Though my head is bendin' low
I hear those gentle voices calling

At a company I worked for years ago, they once (before I got there, but the meeting lives in infamy) had one of those "All Company" meetings for multiple locations - meaning the CEO gave his BS spiel to a camera, and the video was played for the employees later - and at a location in another state (the business was HQ'd in California, our office was in Irving, TX).

Apparently, a few of the more... Horde-worthy employees decided to have a drinking game based on some of the CEO's favorite phrases.

Did I mention that the meeting lives in infamy?

Yea, but I don't think most people really understand what this means because it's always couched in gauzie prose. What it really means is we are going to take money from those who contribute and give it to those who don't.

Which is why Obama and the left is so big on class warfare and dividing the country. All this social warrior and black lives matter bullshit is all about the right people getting fairness.

And of course we need a group of wise betters to run all of this fairness redistribution and they should be above the rules they want to enforce on the rest of us. Some pigs are better than others.

Spirits of the Creator don't generally provide us with earthly path-easing, but rather strive to cultivate strong souls. Reasonably multiplied difficulties generate character-building decisions. So, not friendly, but wise, like the Dad in Calvin & Hobbes, y'know?

That said, just personally, I could do with a little more "reasonably multiplied difficulties" and a little less "catastrophic landslide of fail." On most levels.

158 Insomniac

The problem with a setting such as this is that post things to try to encourage people. They may or they may not. Some people won't read them and that is their prerogative and right. Not everything I post will meet everyone's needs.

The bigger issue is that it's kind of fly by note posting. here. I can't really Listen to people very much as if they were a member of the church that I serve even though I'd like to. I can't put my e-mail address here because that's problematic and if I put a g mail account I don't know if that would get deleted. If it wouldn't maybe I will .

I think you are a decent and smart man with a good sense of humor, man (I appreciate your posts) and i like you. It sounds like from what you're shared you've been through a very hard time. I am very sorry. It sounds like you have reason to be angry and hurt. I just encourage you to find some ways to help with that. if you wake up angry everyday, it's not healthy. I know that you have a least one daughter. Anger is corrosive physically as well as emotionally and spiritually. I know that from my own anger at things and situations. However, your daughter needs a live daddy. as do your other kids if you have them. Here is an article on anger:

http://tinyurl.com/p77bkvc

And it may not mean much, but I will pray for you.
There are a number of people in difficult situations whom I pray for here. The list seems to be growing I don't think God is slapping you in the mouth. I think the situations are but I encourage you to tell God how you feel, God can handle your anger and your pain, He's been dealings with the complexity of who we are as people for a very long time. May rough places be made smooth for you.

I have to go somewhere now. I'm sorry.

(I apologize to the people who find this sort of thing from clergy distasteful. Some things just need to be said at the time. :^) even though it's not the topic under consideration

164 Eugene S. Robinson channels .. President Woodrow Wilson ..

But our fix is so simple that we're kicking ourselves for not having thought of it before: policing made-to-order. Citizens of color should have the choice to interact with cops of the same racial or cultural background. In practical terms, it would look like this: An African-American driver is pulled over for, say, not signaling a lane change. The attending officer will, in the spirit of good public service, ask the driver if she'd be more comfortable with an African-American police officer. If so? Then the attending police officer calls it in and sits with the citizen until an African-American officer shows up.

...

President Woodrow Wilson (D-NJ). The white people of the country, as well as I, wish to see the colored people progress, and admire the progress they have already made, and want to see them continue along independent lines. There is, however, a great prejudice against colored people. . . . It will take one hundred years to eradicate this prejudice, and we must deal with it as practical men. Segregation is not humiliating, but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen. If your organization goes out and tells the colored people of the country that it is a humiliation, they will so regard it, but if you do not tell them so, and regard it rather as a benefit, they will regard it the same. The only harm that will come will be if you cause them to think it is a humiliation.

165 Looking through Arizona Highways at camera shots like this painting I realized most of them are taken at sunrise and sunset when the rays go through more atmosphere. A special kind of light. That period goes very quickly each day such as Robert Frost's, Nothing Gold Can Stay. A friend deadpanned, plus it gets too hot.

Done best with snapshot. Oils take too long. The next day things are different, the weather inconsistent. It cannot be the exact same thing again. Paintings would have to be quick or the lighting reliably consistent.
