I think the Indian name may have been more like "Tahoma" (although HooTF knows since they didn't use the English alphabet), because a smaller spur to the side of the main summit is today known as "Little Tahoma". Republican House Speaker John Boehners top healthcare policy adviser is linked by blood to a figure at the heart of the Planned Parenthood baby part-selling scandal. Charlotte Ivancic, Boehners health policy director, is the older sister of Cate Dyer, the founder of Stem Express, the California-based company caught buying aborted fetus parts from Planned Parenthood. Ivancic, formerly Rep. Paul Ryan point person on Medicare reform, advises Boehner on all aspects of health care reform. Boehner spokeswoman Emily Schillinger gave The Daily Caller a statement from Boehners office on the matter. "Charlotte Ivancic is a dedicated public servant who enjoys the utmost respect among her peers and Members of Congress", Schillinger said. "She has the Speakers complete trust and confidence in both her work and her character." But remember kids, if you call Boehner a "cuckservative", you're a white supremacist. Boehner just looks at his job as head of the congressional division of Americorp and the SCOAMF as its president. McConnel runs the Senatorial division. Their product is legislation to make the federal government ever more powerful. Their constituency are the cronies who fill their personal coffers. Once you view it through that prism everything they do makes sense. you would think he would act as an oppositional leader but look at it this way, when you go to work do you act to thwart your fellow co-workers and the company itself? Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he is unlikely to hit the golf links any time soon with President Obama because people get "bent out of shape." "The President has suggested, Hey, do you think it is too much trouble to play golf again? " he said in excerpts of an interview on the Golf Channel airing Monday. "I have to look at him and say, Yes, because everybody gets bent out of shape worried about what we are up to, when all we are really going to do is just play golf. " ----- I have no doubt particular rages manifest themselves on the links, at once similar to "road rage" and other umbrages, but on the "back nine" in the political arena, those fellows down at the next hole aren't strangers, but (socio-)polical rivals, nay, sworn ideological and, yes, (perceived) existential adversaries. (run-on; sorry) Will benign soft turns be taken with quasi-Victorian dignity in the current Stroke Economy [Claude Steiner PhD] or more a more visceral Chicago-stylee political "cutthoat" that appeals to the marxoid 'divide et impera' approach, a move that would appeal to most people below the national IQ average (i.e. 50%. or is that 'mean?' got a C in statistics any way. . . ) The future will be both the Jetsons and the Flintsones very devo /golf clap [fade to black] Posted by: Dr. Varno at July 29, 2015 09:39 PM (aLcLt) Posted by: HR drinking gin at July 29, 2015 09:39 PM (rHXGG) 252

Not a video expert by any means, but when I did some technical work with video, there was an option to enable the frame counter so effectively a running time/date stamp was continuously displayed on the screen. It was too fast to actually read when viewed at normal speed, but it was possible to advance frame by frame and see the frame counter increment. If that technique was used, it seems that it would be a very powerful technical information that the video had NOT been edited or manipulated. Not that anything digital cannot be "tweaked", but it would be a non-trivial exercise IMHO to do this with a live recording. Posted by: Hrothgar at July 29, 2015 10:41 PM (ftVQq) 388

Posted by: HR drinking gin at July 29, 2015 10:52 PM (rHXGG) No. It's not a disregard for poaching. The problem is that just in comparison to the horrendous conditions the people in Zimbabwe live, largely thanks to their crazy dictator Mugabe, the lion thing isn't really all that big a deal. I think the dentist shooting the lion is questionable, at best. It looks like he probably did poach the thing illegally. If so that's a crime and he should be charged, etc and so on. But again, the poaching of one lion does not compare to the slaughter of human beings and what I object to is that I've seen post after post after post on social media and legacy media about the lion thing and it's crickets when it comes to actual human beings being murdered, tortured, sold into sex slavery, and aborted and sorted into parts for profit. The imp meanwhile crawls out of a sewer grate with disgusting stuff dripping off its malformed bat-wings while some grunge rock plays out the cheap ear-buds. Angel and imp speak at the same time, one cooing like doves and other sounding like a nickel caught in a garbage disposal. "Yes." Idiot steps towards the angel. "I've been good all my life." Imp, "Wait just a minute bub, you signed a contract." Idiot looks dumbfounded. "What contract?" Imp conjures up in a greasy poof of oily black smoke a piece of paper. Imp dons his monocle and squints. "Did you not at yesterday's erection *snigger* of the statue of Great Baphomet willing surrender your soul to Satan?" Idiot, "Well I thought it was a joke." Hit an animal with an arrow and it's not going down right there. It runs off. An arrow is not really able to kill on the spot, it's designed to bleed the animal out until it drops. Posted by: HR drinking gin at July 29, 2015 11:01 PM (rHXGG) Again, not true. The first shot, with a crossbow, only injured the animal. They then tracked the animal for over two days before they were able to finish it. They did not "just let him bleed out" for two days. Not as the articles I'm reading describe it. That's a valid but incomplete point. The consumers of art post WWII new very well that there was a distinct possibility that the art they were buying was stolen from Jews by the Nazis. Not all certainly, but nowhere near zero. On the other hand, the vast majority of hunts in Southern Africa are above board and sanctioned by both the governments and conservation organizations. The "Yippee, a lion was killed...who gives a shit" camp is being inflammatory for a reason. But they are wrong. However....I will cheerfully kill 1,000,000 animals to save the life of one human being. [Ducks from shrapnel] Posted by: PPA spokeswomyn at July 29, 2015 11:10 PM (Zu3d9) 485

it is easy for us to love a lion and subsequently be outraged about its death, because it's cute and fuzzy and we don't have to deal with lions.

What disgusts me most about PP is they constantly parrot lines about how abortion is a profound, solemn decision between a woman and her doctor in a quiet office, while in reality it's pure profit. And PP's cultist followers online make crass comments about killing babies willy-nilly just to rub pro-lifers' faces in their triumphalism.

Posted by: ConservativeMonster at July 29, 2015 11:07 PM (3edTg) I'm guessing far far less than the amount of money that is brought in by big game hunters. Here's another thing...in many instances, the meat from the hunt is donated to local villages. You know, the starving people. There it is, that lie about you have to pick one or the other thing. Posted by: HR drinking gin at July 29, 2015 11:07 PM (rHXGG) For Chrissake, did I say that? No, I'm saying that the media and many of the people who are up in arms about this DID pick one or the other thing. They picked the lion to care about. They chose to have compassion for the lion, not the babies. And that's what I'm pissed off about - not that they care about the lion, but that they care about the lion and don't care about the young and most helpless members of their own species. How much clearer can I make myself? Posted by: Donna &&&&&& V. (brandishing ampersands) at July 29, 2015 11:15 PM (+XMAD) 502

Posted by: Ricardo Kill at July 29, 2015 11:00 PM Really? FFS do you have to prove you're a man by spending $50,000 to shoot a lion? That's f'ing pathetic in my book. You might better spend the money on raising your kids right. If this dentist had $50,000 to go kill a beloved lion, I'm thinking he's been overcharging his clients. Sorry, I just think think he's an asshole. Why would you want to kill a lion? It's nothing like shooting deer which are overpopulated here. Posted by: Farmer at July 29, 2015 11:15 PM (o/90i) 503

There it is, that lie about you have to pick one or the other thing. Posted by: HR drinking gin at July 29, 2015 11:07 PM (rHXGG) Not true at all. It's a matter of putting things into perspective. And I'm sorry but the slaughter if human beings supersedes concerns about the potential poaching of one animal. Cover the lion? Sure! Go right ahead. It's an issue. It's not the biggest issue ever and it is certainly significantly less important than the lives of people. I'm angered by the poaching story. I'm Outrageously outraged (to borrow the horde's parlance) about the slaughtering of babies in the womb. I'm outrageously outraged about the torture and genocide committed by ISIS right now. I'm outreach outlay outraged about the sex slave trade going on in Africa and the ME right now. It's not lion death good, PP bad. It's they're both bad but one is objectively worse than the other. And the one that's worse is largely being ignored in favor of ginning up outrageous outrage about the lesser evil. Posted by: Mandy P., lurking lurker who lurks at July 29, 2015 11:17 PM (KkVB6) 507

The big game hunting fees do more for preserving an endangered species than anything else. That money buys habitat and conservation practices. If you're a 3rd worlder who has to live near dangerous predators ... wouldn't you rather kill them to extinction? Posted by: ConservativeMonster at July 30, 2015 12:27 AM (+2//H) 522
