Quote of the Day I

And, though you may not have noticed, this last week was an especially racist one.

-- Karol Markowicz in Suddenly, Everything Is Racist

Quote of the Day II

It would be an improvement if the left could stick to either of its double standards. Personally, I think fellow Americans - even ones who wear Lynyrd Skynyrd shirts - deserve some of the nuance and understanding so many reserve for Islam extremism. But if you're going to take your zero tolerance for symbols of 19th century slavery so seriously, maybe you should show the same myopic zealotry with regard to the forces who are enslaving people right now.

-- Jonah Goldberg

Quote of the Day III

An avowed socialist was heckled by #BlackLivesMatter protestors while being interviewed by an illegal immigrant and author of a recent documentary about white privilege.

-- Andrew Stiles in The Modern Democratic Party, Explained in One Sentence

Quote of the Day IV

There are few things more cringeworthy than watching stiff-shirted, scripted folks attempting charisma. But that's exactly what happened in Hillary Clinton's latest social media soirée.

-- Kemberlee Kaye in Watching Hillary Clinton's Embarrassing Snapchat Video

Quote of the Day V

Die-hard conservatives thought that if I couldn't get everything I asked for, I should jump off the cliff with the flag flying-go down in flames. No, if I can get 70 or 80 percent of what it is I'm trying to get ... I'll take that and then continue to try to get the rest in the future.

-- Ronald Reagan

A Bit of Good News

First, reminding us that there are many good and decent people fighting the good fight for freedom, Aaron and Melissa Klein (Sweet Cakes by Melissa) who had been ordered to pay $135,000 to a same-sex couple who threw a legal-sized fit when the Kleins opted not to to provide a cake for their commitment ceremony because it would violate their religious beliefs, have seen a record-breaking $352,500 raised at their Continue to Give fundraising campaign. This just in two months time and on top of the $109,000 already raised in the now shutdown GoFundMe campaign.

Bad Outlook For McDonalds

The six-month outlook for franchisees is at an all-time low, according to a small survey by Mark Kalinowski, a long-time restaurant industry analyst.

Some 29 franchisees, who collectively own and operate 208 McDonald's restaurants in the United States, were asked to give their six-month forecast from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent). The average response was 1.69, the lowest in the survey's 12-year history.

"Corporate has no answers," one respondent said. "They are throwing ideas at the wall hoping something will stick. Their collective arrogance has come home to roost."

And fingers are being pointed at British-born CEO Steve Easterbrook:

Easterbrook plans to unveil his plan for turning McDonald's into a "modern, progressive burger company" on May 4.

Why does a company that sells hamburgers and other fast food need to be 'progressive' - or have any politics at all?

Who Still Uses the Lee Enfield Rifle Today?

Well the Canadian Rangers have been using No4 MkI rifles for years while patrolling uninhabited, remote areas of Canada. But due to lack of spare parts they've finally switched over to modern Sako hunting rifles.

canadian-ranger-lee-1024x768

That leaves only the elite Danish navy unit, the Slædepatruljen Sirius, as the remaining user of Enfield-type rifles. They patrol the remote areas of Greenland for months at a time, checking for any foreign incursions while fending off polar bears. They still use the M1917 Enfield in 30-06 as it's one of the few rifles that's proven reliable in the harsh conditions there. Here is their no-BS recruitment video:

44 this is perhaps not the right time or the right place for this, and i don't want you guys to get the wrong idea, but here goes:

yesterday the ran all three "back to the future" movies (just so sweet and kind hearted) which got me to thinking about time travel, as is a young man's wont.

Time machines will not work, whether a delorean or h.g. wells' chair with a disk. and the problem is not time, the problem is space!

let's say you've fluxed your capacitor and go 24 hours forward or backward. you disappear and reappear one day away in the same place. but the earth has moved thousands and hundreds of thousands of miles away! you'll end up in empty space as the earth has rotated and revolved around the sun; the solar system around the galaxy and the galaxy itself in movement. we're asked to think 4th dimensionally while the world is depicted in precupurnican terms.

what do you think?

79 SpaceX held a teleconference with members of the media this afternoon, giving their preliminary conclusion that the June 28 Falcon 9 failure was caused by the failure of a support strut on a helium bottle inside the second stage LOX tank, which started the sequence of events leading to the loss of the vehicle.

Here's a detailed article:

The Dragon cargo ship was ejected intact from the stack early on, and a software upgrade would have allowed it to deploy its parachutes in that situation so that it could have landed intact and saved the cargo. This upgrade will be made before the next launch, which could come as early as September.

Yeah, you can factor in space to the equation and get it done in a broad sense. But, changes can be a problem as well as accuracy. If you're out by a inch, you could be in a world of hurt, that's even without changes to your location. A safer bet might be to depart and arrive in the air, that way you could rely on broad space accuracy and not end up in the ground or something.

The Earth's orbit and rotation is predictable to a degree of precision good enough for government work, but it is not a clockwork mechanism perfectly for all eternity (see relatively short term adjustments to UTC).
Further, even if we accept the hypotheses that we can predict the orbit to a sufficient degree of precision, we cannot predict what has happened in the intervening years. In my backyard, I have a 50 foot tall tree that did not exist twenty years ago. So twenty years ago, I parked the DeLorean in that bare spot and hit the flux capacitor with a +20 year setting. Oops!

206 Given the assumption that time travel is possible (and it probably isn't):

On the one hand, I'm not entirely certain one could travel through time without traveling through space as well, considering that the universe itself seems to be expanding.

On the other hand, time travel fiction generally isn't intended to be hard sci-fi, so I incline to the Tolkienian view--don't get hung up on the mechanics of the conceit; just accept the conceit and get on with the story.

And if all else fails, pull a Star Trek IV.

Americans don't have the guts for sushi. At least that's the implication of a new study, which finds that Japanese people harbor enzymes in their intestinal bacteria that help them digest seaweed--enzymes that North Americans lack. What's more, Japanese may have first acquired these enzymes by eating bacteria that thrive on seaweed in the open ocean.

We do recall seeing some Japanese moron(ette)s here. They'll appreciate the new "mmm! bacony!" flavour of seaweed. For the rest of us - especially when you add the heavily-proteinic raw fish - it looks like three straight days of clogged pipes.

Take a laxative after eating. My advice.

259 This explains the problem that McDonald's is having. The upper management is trying to re-create that marketing genius that is Wimpy Burger.

Now, I admit my exposure to the brand was years ago, in South America (not the home of burgers by the way) but I never had a more tasteless form of beef in my life.

It may be plausible that you could jump *laterally* across dimensions without changing your temporal or spatial coordinates--see Stargate Atlantis "The Daedalus Variations"--but it doesn't seem likely that you can change your temporal coordinates and not your spatial ones.

279 Several years ago, I went to visit a couple of old friends who were living out-of-state for Christmas.

I wanted to buy a nice summer sausage for a meat-and-cheese board, but the local Kroger was fresh out of summer sausage. I found a spicy dry salami, and went with that as a substitute.

We cracked it open on Christmas Eve. It was oily, and smelled like feet, but it tasted okay. Not as good as the summer sausage I'd been hoping to get, but, meh, you take what you can get.

Anyway, on Christmas morning, my buddy informed me that he'd thrown out the rest of my "feet sausage", presuming I wouldn't mind. I did not mind, and in fact I still laugh today about him telling me that.

Interestingly, McGann is one of the most prolific Doctors in terms of stories, though most of the audience don't know it. He had tons of audiobooks and stories, and a small but loyal fanbase. Most people only ever saw him in the 1990s movie and the short that came out before Day of the Doctor.

At least on Supernatural, nobody blinks if you flat out call it magic--because on Supernatural, time travel *is* magic (unless you're Chronos or an angel).

A lot of people blame Moffat and the writers, and that could be completely true.

339 Sylvester McCoy was probably the smartest of the Doctors. All of his mental gears were fully synchro'd. And he might have been a bit aloof but you also knew he was just quietly going about his business to solve the current problem. Assuming Ace and her killer bat was not smacking things around.

Posted by: Anna Puma at July 21, 2015 12:02 AM (U3X+h)

340 *Colin Baker* was good but the directing and writing was not great, espeically where they crammed everything together at the end. Like Capaldi, they carried on his initial befuddlement *way* too long.

I like Sylvester McCoy a lot (okay, I liked Sophie Aldred, shut up), but yeah, the writing fell off, though you see some of those ideas in the new episodes.

You travel, the machine doesn't, therefore you need a machine to receive (like a telephone)... that or a database of indexes to travel, until a machine is invented you don't know what parameters you have to dial in to.

IMHO, the problem with Nu-Who is that it isn't about the Doctor but about whiny female companions who have emotional issues. The companions should be the way the view the world of the Doctor. Yes they should have personality, but there should be a sense of wonder and the unknown. The Nu-Who female companions have been a bunch of whiny selfish little girls who are obsessed with their Earthly relationships, instead of taking the opportunity to witness the wonders of the universe.

They should rename the series "Whiny Bitch Companion"

354 McCoy's Doctor dropping the aluminum bat into the Hand of Omega and turning it into a super-weapon was kind of funny, but I wish Ace had kept it a bit longer. Episodic thinking.

Hartnell could be a dick, but he could also be brave and compassionate.

Troughton could be befuddled, but he could also be clever and kind.

Pertwee could be arrogant, but he could also be compassionate and smart as a whip, and brave.

They dug into that for Capaldi, and came up with an arrogant, befuddled dick with a toned-down Pertwee coat.

Posted by: Bertram Cabot Jr. at July 20, 2015 11:59 PM (W5DcG)

Davison was too young, similar to Smith. Check out the "Children in Need" Christmas special with Tennant and Davison:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GacUisgMTEs

Davison has ages and gotten plenty of experience and his older self would have made a great Doctor.

C. Baker was stuck with the worst Old-Who companion (Peri). His interaction with Jamie in "The Two Doctors" worked very well.

Also like how with McCoy they were making the character more dark and mysterious... putting back the "Who" in "Who".

The most underrated was McGann. His audio dramas were great and had a great blend of mystery, adventure, humanity, and alienness.

I'd rank the Doctor's thusly:

2nd
4th
6th
7th
8th
3rd
War Doctor
1st
5th
Dalek movie Doctor
9th (Eccleson was stuck with the worst companion ever)
12th
Vallyard
11th
10th

Couple of suggestions and observations. (1) I got less money for the gizmos I unloaded on Craigslist than I could have probably gotten with ebay, even after shipping; (2) See if a store wants 'em; (3) see if there is a 501(c)(3) organization you can donate them to that would allow you to maximize their value (e.g. giving SCUBA magazines to a dive club instead of to Goodwill might allow you to claim a value for them at $5 each instead of $1/box), then write 'em off your taxes.

I also figured I should live my life in private pretty much the way I spend my life in public, and if I would be ashamed to have it out in public I won't do it in private. Hidden sins and hidden crimes make you fearful, a target for extortion, and make you think up really weird justifications.

Posted by: Merovign, Dark Lord of the Sith at July 21, 2015 12:22 AM (bLnSU)

Troughton is often underrated, but the Doctor's that followed him took more after him than Hartnell.

I rank Tennant last for various reasons. He was paired with the worst companion, Rose. They would both be snarky and tell each other how brilliant they were. I hated Tennants flipping between being a glib little shmuck and his "I'm so sorry" shtick. I hated his hipster suit (honestly, none of the Doctor's after McGann were given visually interesting suits).

Above all else, I hated the fangirls (and writers) who turned him into Doctor Boyfriend and inserted their own whiny asses as companions.

I honestly can't stand any of the Nu-Who female companions. Rory was a good character when he wasn't with soul-steeling ginger, around whom he turned into a p-whipped pathetic lump. Even Wilfred was a decent companion.

Paramount has allowed crossovers from time to time. There was an X-Men and ST:TOS cross-over during the '90s. Donna was brassy and shrill. The character also had development, somewhat, but it was hard to get past. Women viewers tend to like her a lot more, because she's not thin and model-ey. And possibly because she's brassy and bossy, but that makes my ears hurt.

Martha was just so bossy, but damn, you know someone, somewhere, is *still* putting up with her shit and saying it's worth it.

craigslist sales - did a bunch of them, all for household/furniture type things during a major do-over of the house, all local sales. No problem. In fact, amazed that I was able to sell some of the things I did.

Most surprising sale: electric typewriter - excellent condition, perfectly kept, functioning, SmithCorona from the early 70s. Ad was swarmed with responses, instantly. Guy who bought it told me young graphics/IT types (he's one) love these typewiters for ..... something they do. Amazing thing two: Smith Corona still exists and you can still buy the ribbons and other consumables for them!

Then there was the rare, out-of-production decorative glass panels I switched out of the front door side-lights. "Flemish amber", so the glass shop informed me - and the guy said I should sell it online, because the stuff is long out of production and in high demand for retro and restoration projects. OK. After 3 months of dropping the price (starting at $800! - the shop's suggestion) and getting 2 responses that flaked out, I broke it up with a hammer in the trash can.

Cash, fixed price (with small wiggle room when the buyer is serious), no problems. All depends on what you're selling.

Absolutely truthful observation -- I was getting into my late 30's and had to get up a time or two every night. Was thinking, "shit, pretty early for this to be an issue." Gave myself a new, substantially more competent doctor as a 40th birthday present -- within 30 days had a sleep study and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Got an assisted breathing machine and felt like I'd been kicked in the chest by a mule for a month.....and all that disappeared. I'd been getting up 2-3 times per night to whiz at the end, there.....and somehow having my lungs pressurized at night fixed it.

If you wear more than a 16 neck dress shirt, you should probably look into having a sleep study.

Hammer, if you're still here - actually for shipping (well, receiving) bullets, USPS is still a great deal. That flat-rate thing - most of the bullet vendors use that, which means a very heavy box full of lead or plated joy costs only $7 to ship (or whatever).

So I'd say for heavy, small, non-fragile stuff, at least the flat-rate system is quite the bargain, still.

496 I get the impression that the Reagan quote is meant as an attack on the conservative purists of today, which if true is grossly misleading. The difference between Reagan's willingness to accept 80% of what he wanted is that he actually pushed forward an agenda, and would actually go back for the other 20% later. Now, all our supposed Conservative betters act like we are the crazy hardliners because we expect them do something, anything, more than pay lip-service to conservative values on the way to conceding to every liberal demand. There is a substantive difference between what Reagan accomplished and anything that is being done today.

501 @479 "... I watched the whole first season of Capaldi and when I was done, I was ready to go re-watch Stargate or Babylon 5 or something. Anything."

OMG - DW fans in here? Or maybe FORMER DW fans? I was pretty enthusiastic, but the Capaldi era blew it for me. They spent most of the first show on politically-correct nonsense, and carried on about how old Capaldi is (which I especially don't appreciate, because we're not so different in age!). We went to the trouble to record the shows, being fans, but after we got to a show that pissed me off we didn't watch the rest.

We all know that The Doctor is a passivist (except when he's not), and that's great for him because he can always find a clever way to not resort to force (except when he does). Fine. But then they spent an ENTIRE show on how The Doctor didn't approve of his Companion's PC-boyfriend - he wasn't GOOD ENOUGH for her - because he had been a SOLDIER. I just couldn't get past the outright demonization of the military.

Not Capaldi's fault - he might have made a great Doctor, but there's too little of what makes Dr Who great, too much PC crap instead, and that perversion pushed me over the edge.

510 Sylvester McCoy was probably the smartest of the Doctors. All of his mental gears were fully synchro'd. And he might have been a bit aloof but you also knew he was just quietly going about his business to solve the current problem. Assuming Ace and her killer bat was not smacking things around.

Posted by: Anna Puma at July 21, 2015 12:02 AM

Sylvester McCoy was a great doctor that suffered from being stuck at the tail end of a general decline. I'm a Troughton guy, though Tom Baker gives him a run for his money... it's close. Never liked Pertwee much, back when he was on, but he holds up today exceptionally well. I figure he was up against it being between Troughton and Baker back then. Colin Baker is a difficult one to judge, as the Davison years had already taken it's toll. He seemed ok. Peter Davison was the breaking point for me. He just didn't work.

Anyway... I reckon that McCoy just might be the best doctor. If he had been in the 70's... it would be a slam dunk.

518 Has it occurred to the Doctor Who fans that when a show has the Companion have a black boyfriend, that it either says "We're Not Bigots", or simply "This guy's really good, we're glad to have him."

But when EVERY SINGLE Companion has a black boyfriend (except the on that got married and became a co-Companion for a long time) that it says "YOU FAN are Bigots, and We Need To Program you Not To Be"?

It's ridiculous enough to have a cross-species lesbian couple without being insulted at every turn.

In that first episode, they were even calling the Companion a bigot - even though she had had the hots for an alien (The Doctor). It just doesn't even matter to these PS assholes if what they're saying even makes SENSE.

I don't rate him at the bottom, but I also saw making-of and other films back in the 80s, it seemed like Troughton was a complete bitch to people, especially later on. Davison started out badly but got better later, like Smith, who I *hated* early on.

I'm almost tempted to look at the new season because of that, but then I realized my opinion of Smith had already started changing in the first season. He was never great, but he was okay. 528 It can be hard to ignore the cultural baggage in Dr Who, especially the new ones.

Britain is a politically correct, socialist island bureaucracy with vague historical memories of empire that are both proud and horrified, and the show is produced by a "government media empire."

Ultimately, there will be a lot of "twitch" moments for Americans watching them, from Eccleston's call for a welfare state, to the "gay couple in every episode" periods, to the completely anachronistic socialism cracks in the appalling "robin hood" episode with Capaldi.

Some of it you get around, some of it you just write off the episode because there isn't enough left of value.

There couldn't be an American Doctor Who, you could have an American show about a time traveler with companions, in fact there have been a couple, but they would have little in common with Dr. Who. That's not all bad.

I had a sleep study done about 4 years ago (was 48 then), and found that I had normal results for a guy that could not sleep very well since he was not in a bed of choice.

I would be happy if it were that easy ( not to denigrate any of those with issues).

546 Well, Cooth, not wasted on Tennant, who married her.

Also, BTW, one of the non-film companions of the Dr was Frobisher, a sentient penguin who once rescued a large number of the Doctor's companions from a villian - this included Jenny. So she's met some of the other companions, at least, in the canon.

547 If one does math on the "blows 90K" it does not equal that much "blown". She needs 20K for the last year of school so she may have already paid 60K out of the 90K to the school. Then when one adds rent, books and food over the three years it could equal the last 30K. Rent at a min is $1000 per month so there goes 12K per year. The math goes out the window if she could have had 90K for the final years tuition as she started with 150K but over three years she did blow that.

The story should not be about her blowing the money but her entitlement mentality to her parents retirement fund after getting 90K from her grandparents. She would have no problem getting a student loan but entitlement takes over.

548 The thing about the PC crap on Dr Who is that I found it very palatable in prior seasons because it would be occasional, and done in a humorous way. The classic example I recall is where The Doctor is talking to a horse in a Western setting, and he announces that "His name is Susan, and he wants you to respect his life choices." Or something like that.

But this last season was like they didn't know what else to talk about.

549 Traveling through time means also traveling through space and a whole lot of things are in motion. The Earth is moving and rotating, the solar system is moving and rotating, the galaxy is moving and rotating, and the universe itself is moving if you accept expansion theory. And it wouldn't surprise me that the universe is also rotating.

Also, I made the Kessel run in 11.5 parsecs. Fuck you, Han. You also shot first.

552 Optimizer, I don't think the PC was worse in the first Capaldi season, per se (though there are a couple of lame examples), it's just that there's nothing really good to help you get past it.

Smith's "I can speak Baby/Horse" trick was actually used sparingly and very well done. The episode where they introduced it was kind of lame, but the gags sold it anyway.

If the rest of the Capaldi (and I mean the whole team, not just the actor) dialogue was sparkling and witty and gave indications of the larger universe and not just what was onscreen at the moment, well, the heavy-handed cultural cues would be less glaring.

Except that Robin Hood episode, which sucked baboon asscrack.

The last time I saw a 16" neck I was about the same age as that number. I am 6' tall, and currently have a 17.5"neck, a 45" chest and a 34" waist.

I had a sleep study done about 4 years ago (was 48 then), and found that I had normal results for a guy that could not sleep very well since he was not in a bed of choice.

I would be happy if it were that easy ( not to denigrate any of those with issues).

Some things ya just gotta deal with when getting older.

Considering how much it was hiding in plain sight, underdiagnosed, and not seriously considered by primary care physicians held out to be competent, I was shocked at how much my getting treatment for OSA fixed a wide, wide variety of ills across nearly every bodily function. I had a long roster of "stuff I just get to put up with because I'm getting older", and rolled-back a bunch of it.

Of course, my case can well be an outlier, and I don't want to raise false hopes or have people feel I'm less sympathetic if no magic panacea is available to them. But the signs were textbook, the treatment simple and non-invasive, and the maladies resolved were widespread and pernicious.

554 Somehow, I not only survived several earthquakes but I also never even knew they occurred until the next day (if they made the news at all).

http://earthquaketrack.com/p/united-states/ohio/recent

I did witness the damage in Mexico City after the '85 quake, and was personally changed for life. That was an 8.0. Most of the people killed in that quake were homeless/scattered people who had taken shelter in the condemned buildings from the last few earthquakes. I was off to work about the same time as the dogs who were brought from around the world to search for survivors. At the risk of sounding clichéd, I felt guilty about going off to run a factory improvement project while the people with dogs were trying to save lives. Not that there was really anything I could do to help.

But I thought I was tired after a long gay. But he pooches and their handlers had gone from energenic to downright exhausted. About every other day brought news of a child or baby dad been found alive. And that seemed to give new energy to the rescuers to go another day.
But that, too, wasn't enough to keep the rescuers going forever. After a big buzz about an infant being found alive a full week after the quake, all the good reasons for contining the effort faded away as no more lives would be saved. Several hundred were saved, but it seemed like a pittance compared to the tens of thousands estimated to had died.

If there is any moral at this point, guess it's that "earthquake" is a relative term.

-Cholula hot sauce isn't especially hot, but if your Mexican food were fries? It Is The Ketchup.

-Save that jar of brine from your pickled jalapenos. You can cut and place your home-grown jalapenos in there. They'll last nearly a year.

...(as will most hot and mild peppers.)

-Same goes for pickle brine. You can save a lot of vegetable-stuffs in there because of the salt content. Bacteria abhors a brine.

If I said it wrong, I meant the first episode (has there BEEN a 2nd season? - I don't even know!) All I remember about the first episode was a lot about our lesbian human-lizard couple carrying on, their giving Clara grief about her being a lizard (she couldn't see through the veil until she stopped being bigotted), and the nth black boyfriend - this one crying in the first scene and named "Pink", to feminize him as they did with Rory, and would probably do with ANY non-Doctor male characters. The boyfriend is given the "jaded past" of being a soldier, but he's turning his life around now that's he's doing something "noble" - being a teacher.

If there was a plot line in there, I don't even remember what it was. Just something about the Doctor having issues as his regeneration finished.

581 About the Doctor Who theme, my kid needed a tune to play with an electronic gadget at school, and so I thought I would try to look up the DW theme.

I didn't get what I needed, but I did get a really interesting story. There is no sheet music you could get for it, because it just doesn't even seem to apply. Some composer wrote SOMETHING for them to work off of, but didn't feel right about being in the credits, because nothing he did was recognizable in the result. They did weird, crazy, technical things to create it; it's not music you can just play. It was completely innovative and original.

Plus, it's said to have made small children cry from fear. Powerful stuff!

The unusual instrument spoken of might be the one that is said to have been used for the Star Trek theme, but that's an urban legend - reinforced on The Big Bang Theory show, BTW, just like Global Warming - that turns out not to be true.

I happened to glimpse a @576 (later disappeared) where there was the message quoted @584. You'll notice that the original @576 says something else.

In the now-disappeared @576, someone claiming to be "Posted by: regensdorf j.j. at July 21, 2015 02:37 AM (E+yET) " referenced Ira, myself, old posts, and a threat to emails. Since this was screaming "cyberstalker" in every possible way, I said "Can you, perhaps, say "ban me" in ALL CAPS?????" Sure enough, by the time I looked back on it, it was gone.

But, y'know, by taking the side of cyberstalker, I'm afraid that I am compelled to remind everyone that this is DAve, previously banned on the blog for being an asshole and stalker himself, and potential older brother of Ira. Sorry, DAve, you were doing so well....and, BTW, there's a good chance you'll get doxxed like your brother if you keep playing his games.

599 No, it's completely genuine.
I've NEVER taken the side of a cyberstalker ever anywhere, and maybe that misunderstanding has been at the root of all this bullshit between us. And I've made this point before.
I've never seen the type of bullshit that went down tonite and gained a real appreciation for what itplayed outlike. Goddammed shame.
Not even clear what your threat meant and how I could be considered to be playing anyone's game but there's lots of stuff I don't understand.
Not so sure what I should do to respond to your threats dude.
I have no idea who Ira is or anything about him other than what I've read here. Sounds like a world-class asshole. Completely in the dark as to what makes him my brother. He's just another in a long list of polesmoking shitbags to me.
I just wish we could put all this bullshit behind us and enjoy each other's company like we used to. I have no desire to fvck with you and if you quit doing it to me you'll see that.
WTF now Slap is teaching me about life? Well I appreciate the thought I guess.

615 Meh.
This isn't real lox. It's Chilean salmon that I smoked for three or four hours today on the grill. (Pic @;#183)

But it still kicks ass. You're welcome to some!

Don't be ghey. You know I can't eat pictures. You're trying to take advantage of me, aren't you?

Fucking "charmers!"

Thanks for the recipe, man. I enjoy some quality salmon!

619 Recipe? What recipe?
Garlic salt, pepper, a squeeze of lemon, slowly smoked over a bed of Hobo pelts - this is common knowledge around these parts...

Posted by: Chi at July 21, 2015 04:18 AM (kDWIp)

620 That'll do, Horde.

...that'll do.

I'm freaking wasted.

G'Night Ev'ry-Buddy!

621 G'night, Slap.
You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

622 Sheesh, some days it's ok that I got gobsmacked by TB3K and can't post from the house during the day.

Maet, thanks for the effort hunting down whatever evil gremlin has possessed my IP. I'm going to try my Gmail address when I hit the house just to see if its somehow related to my ISP but my money is still on the IP getting shot down.

Good night.

624 PS... New GF is Jewish, and vegetarian...hard core at that.

Guess what I'm gonna spring on her on Friday night's date.

Yeah, I'm that kind of a bad boy, Bacon Kelp for the win.
I guess it doesn't hurt that I can claim the heritage myself although I do cook some kick ass pulled pork BBQ and ribs.

I'll either make her laugh or I'll be looking for another GF, guess it just depends on her sense of humor.

628 GMAC, years ago, someone set me up on a blind date with a vegan. I ate med rare lamb chops in front of her.

631 Lol, this one is a keeper. She's...ahem... a moron's motorboating dream come true and pretty to boot. I can lay claim to being partially Jewish because my mothers parents were.

I figure it's kelp, but it's pork to! No guilt pork even!!

Meh, if it blows up in my face, oh well, if it works you aren't going to hear from me for several days because TB3K still has my home IP under double secret probation. Plus, I know how to beg.
