24 How does 'expenses' for a nonprofit like PlanPar work? Salaries, equipment, proportion of utilities, rent -- how much is written off and/or charged if someone is buying the results of their nonprofit? Just do not understand. Same with gays paying 'expenses' for a baby. How about foster parents and their support allowances? How long does a maid have to work to recoup 'expenses' of bringing him/her to another country?

More questions than answers, but very much worth investigating. Seems like a lot of body selling to me.

Brave. You said it yourself.

The Pack of Stupid (PoS) running for the Republican nomination have little bravery about them. Walker shows flashes of it.
What trump is doing isn't really brave either. he's doing what he's doing because it costs him little or nothing to say it. The PoS says little or nothing because it would cost them greatly. Historically, third parties tend to achieve the exact opposite result they claim to seek. They usually screw over their own 'side'. Their desire is to go farther to the left or right, and the result is usually splitting that one side and handing victory to the opposite pole.

I think that TR in 1912 came closest with the Bull Moose party, as he ran to the left of Taft. It went left, as desired, but all the way to Wilson.

83 "Remember, Ross Perot won 19% of the vote in '92 on the basis of some folksy "common sense" comments, and a general disdain for politicians (but those whose last name was Bush, in particular)."

Let's not forget, too, that at one point in the race, Perot was actually *leading* both Bush and Clinton in the three-way race. Perot was polling around 35-40% in June and early July.

And then he dropped out, using that weird "Republicans were trying to crash my daughter's wedding" excuse. That has always made me think that he was in it to be Clinton's spoiler, but once he (accidentally) started pulling ahead of Clinton, he had to drop out and tone it back.

But then get back in the race late enough to pull just enough GOP/conservative/populist support to win it for Clinton.

Wonder if that's the game plan for Trump as well?

For awhile, they were not necessarily declaring homosexuality "determined by genes" but something happens to them during pregnancy. Slightly different from when it was in the DSM and they'd blame the mother o.O but still blaming the mother.

I think that second sentence might be anti-trans* because they've "always felt like" their gender, indicating it's intrinsic, not socially-constructed. If you gave Sno'flaque toy monster trucks and he traded them on the playground for a boa, that's a revolt against the social programming.

No, it is a treaty. Don't buy into McCain's (and Obama's) faulty and deceptive logic that the Executive Branch gets to determine what's a treaty and what's not a treaty.

Any agreement between two or more sovereign nations is a treaty.

It's a treaty. And it's up to the people of the United States to tell their servants in the Congress that it's a treaty.

Short term, maybe, but what about long term? Someone with more time than I could look into this. If a "run from the right" will split the Republican vote, thus costing the election, does it tend to move the party further right after that? Or of course, same for candidates from the left for Dems (I'm thinking Nader in '00).

If so, it might be worth it. Because we KNOW what will happen if conservatives fall in line with the Gope. Even when the Gope wins, conservatives lose.

We act as if it's written in stone, and of course it isn't. Traditionally, blacks were Republicans, and tended to prosper when they were. Then along came the so-called civil rights movement, and the Dems jumped on board.

Black people are not monolithically Democrat because Democrats are good for them, they are so because it sure does look like Republicans don't give a damn about them. You can argue whether the Party does indeed care about them or not, but you can't argue the optics. The Party has a reputation as one who has disdain for blacks.

It wouldn't take much to change that. Start talking about how conservatism is good for ALL Americans, is one way. Stop getting on your knees for the mythical hispanic vote is another.

That kind of makes sense in an insane, leftist, SJW sort of way. That is, if you insist (as gay activists soon will) that we are actually all homosexuals by nature and heterosexuality is forced upon us by society. Science proves it! Which of course means gays are normal and heterosexuals are in denial and the ones in need of psychiatric treatment.

Let's be realistic. The reason most blacks don't think Republicans care for them is because most blacks, even folks who have made it into the middle class and are doing pretty well, still define "caring for us" as "giving us free stuff." I hate how that sounds, but it really is the case. Since conservatives and (some) Republicans aren't really big on giving away free stuff, it stands to reason that most blacks will not be attracted to the message that conservatives and (some) Republicans are selling.

122 "illegals are cheap labor, end illegal woking and your prices will go up" is a partial truth: that is, it is a lie for all the reasons not addressed.

Juan comes to the US. He gets an ITIN. He and his wife work minimum wage for 20 hours each (most places hiring like this actually hire for 30-35 to avoid that "full-time" thing, but, one of them might be a day laborer too - however they can also work multiple part time jobs)

The lovely couple pays rent, maybe sales tax, and income taxes. They get food stamps. They get other benefits, including tax write-offs and tax credits. The kids get free meals. They get more than they pay.

That money comes from tax revenue, or at least the promise of tax revenue from the future (that is what the deficit borrowing is, essentially). Your taxes. Your company's taxes. The guy down the street who welds in his garage but would love to hire a couple of guys like you for a start up but can't because no-one is buying because they have to pay taxes instead.

So, the chamber of commerce and GOPe supporters are getting their cheap labor subsidized by you. Your cheap hamburger is paid for in part by your tax withholding. Your cheap lettuce is paid for by assured higher taxes in the future to meet the interest payments.
If you don't eat that hamburger, you are just subsidizing someone else's hamburger - so don't think you can opt out that way either.

Oh, and and no-one talks about the effect this has on the cost of labor generally. Labor prices are affected by the availability and demand just like any commodity. However, like any commodity, when the supply and cost are manipulated by subsidies it distorts the market.
With importing cheap labor and subsidizing it, you have knocked the bottom out of the labor pricing for entry jobs.
This is not "They took our jobs", it is "they take our money to pay to people to underbid our work"

Sorry, I am wordy today. I'm posting big slabs of grey.
