Gosh, geniuses. Did anything happen to the real estate market in Florida that might have made the house sell for less than when Rubio initially bought it? Idiots. Rubio has campaign shirts out, btw.

Yes, almost anyone who bought a house in Florida (or Arizona or Nevada) in the past 15 years or so is selling it today for less than they paid for it. Thanks to idiotic government policies that created a huge housing bubble that burst around 2006 -- government policies that were championed by idiots like Senator Barry "I never met a government give-away program I didn't vote for" Obama.

27 This is an odd piece over at the WSJ.

Trying to find a silver lining in obamacare.

An ObamaCare-Inspired Rebellion

The law is driving people into high-deductible plans, inadvertently seeding a consumer-driven market.

...As millions of Americans move onto high-deductible plans, they will change their behavior---and the incentives of the market. Under these plans, in a typical year consumers will pay most, if not all, of their health-care expenses out of pocket. Since they will be spending their own money, they will compare prices for checkups and procedures. Providers will have to earn their business on the basis of quality, price and service, the way companies do in the other four-fifths of the U.S. economy. Competition has the potential to transform America's sclerotic, overpriced health-care system into something much more transparent and affordable.

...

In a dramatic twist, ObamaCare seems to be accidentally driving many of the changes that its critics sought all along. If we don't seize the opportunity that high-deductible plans offer to fix much of what's wrong with medicine, frustrated patients will clamor for more government regulation, squashing the beginnings of a health-care revolution in the making.

It's not so much what he said as it is who said it. Trump has long been considered a joke to the average person, and to a lot of Politically Aware Big Thinkers. Anything teh Donald says is, therefore, to be dismissed as crazy talk.

Amazingly, Democrats are never embarrassed to have their message carried by Choom Boy, Shrillery Klintoon, Bernie Sanders and their ilk.

Washington DC will never reform itself. Aside from Jeff Sessions, Mike Lee, Louie Gohmert and a handful of other decent people, the entire government top down is corrupt and the IRS is its key weapon to keep it that way.

I have a different take.

The reason the Leftist institutions are losing their collective sh!t is because people *do* listen to Trump. I'm seeing a lot of LIVs who say "I don't think I'd ever vote for him as president, but I like what he's saying" about a lot of stuff.

So then he comes out and says, "Oh, and Illegal Immigration is bad, too."

Well, since LIVs are already predisposed to at least listen to what he has to say, that might actually get through. So the Left has to demagogue him and call him crazy-pants. They have to destroy him, lest the truth be heard by the LIVs.

If what he'd said was inaccurate, they'd be ridiculing him. Instead they're trying to destroy him.

Eh, this is a structural/sociological problem with the Middle Class-

the very things that make us middle class -

obeying the law, education, strong impulse control, ability to learn from experience and predict outcomes, strong benefit vs cost analysis, plugged into our communities, raising families, generally religious, working hard for ourselves and our families-

make us very very poor revolutionaries or even effective protestors.

That's why the Democrat/Progtard/Commie tactic or constant continuing division is so effective.

If the Middle Class ever really and truly got it's act together-

and voted our interests en masse....well, things would be different.

And if our betters ignored us, (as now) so that we had no alternative but take to the streets...

...well, it's not hard to imagine the effectiveness of a widespread middle class protest or revolution given the traits stated up above.

But again, those very traits make it unlikely, short of complete catastrophe.

That's why, Boneless and Turdle and the rest of the GOPe are so dispiriting-

we who play by the rules are dependent on our gov't representatives to play by the rules and support their voters.

considered a joke to the average person, and to a lot of Politically
Aware Big Thinkers. Anything teh Donald says is, therefore, to be
dismissed as crazy talk.

No, the Average person does not consider Donald Trump a clown. Only conservative political junkies do so. He never comes off as a clown on the Apprentice, he comes off - to the average person - as an executive in charge. The last "clown" we ran was Ronald Reagan. The left truly fears Trump; no one gets flack unless they are over the target.

Are there people I would prefer from our side? Sure - but I would love to hear him say to Obama "You're fired".

That's just it, I don't think he is seen as "a buffoon," which would imply someone who is stupid as well as oafish.

I think they agree that he's over-the-top and, well, oafish, but I don't think that LIVs see him as stupid. Most of them wish they had his money. About half of them, maybe a little more, wish they had his wife.

That, I think, is where both parties see the danger. Sure, people see him as a carnival barker - but people listen to carnival barkers, else carnivals would not employ them.

So, I think we're in agreement on the Parties' reactions, just getting there from two (very) slightly different directions.

211 27 This is an odd piece over at the WSJ.

260 I think Trump would respect the Office, unlike Obama. His focus would be on taking a blowtorch to American socialism. I'm all for that.

Me too, but I'm tired of hoping that a candidate will actually do something to kill Fedzilla once in orifice. We've all been disappointed too many times (Dondi, I'm looking at you).

I want someone who is unapologetic about reversing this downhill slide into third-world shitholiness that this current administration is overseeing. I want someone to directly challenge leftardism and point out how it's destroying our country. The examples are everywhere, but ignored.

Major Golf Organizations Now Backing Away from Trump

The PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, USGA and PGA of America issued a joint statement Wednesday condemning Trump's comments during his July 16 campaign announcement about Mexicans coming across the border.

I don't even think Trump knew what he was up against.

Will he stand strong and say "Show me where I was wrong factually?", then

follow up with stats on crime?

Or will he weasel and say *mumble mumble* "I sowwy."?
