Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | CNN Anchor: Say, Maybe We Should Take Down the Jefferson Memorial Too....What I love about the New America is how psychologically stable and definitely not hysterical it is. The New America is a place where the words "Let's be reasonable and think this through" are grounds for a public shaming and Social Justice Firing. So sure, I think we should tear down the Jefferson Memorial, and then set fire to the bricks, and then, when we realize that bricks don't really burn, bury them in the sea so that non-racist Social Justice Whales mayest poop upon them in all their scorn. I think, in short, we should run around like poorly raised children all high on High Fructose Corn Syrup red drink. (What flavor? Red is the flavor.) I think we should be as impulsive and stupid as possible, because, hey! Thinking, considering, contextualizing is for Racists. They called America stupid for decades -- then they set about to making their slur accurate.By the way, one more shout-out for Mike Flynn. Lurkering Lurker posts this excerpt from Andrew Breitbart's "Righteous Indignation," p. 167-168 (hardback): Thank you all for being so supportive of me and of Mike. Yesterday I was feeling a bit down about all this; your support has buoyed me, and I now feel pretty good. Doesn't hurt that Mark "The Great One" Levin tweeted The Case for Mike Flynn out.

Personally, I think the Republicans in state government should have been more unreasonable. Very few, if any, have been pinning the incorporation of Confederate imagery on the Democrats who put it there.
"Republicans defeated the Democrats when they wanted to secede from the union in favor of slavery. Republicans gave their lives to end slavery while Democrats were fighting to the death to keep it. After losing the war, Democrats in state legislatures successfully put their battle flag in the state houses and sometimes even on state flags. That is wrong, and we will fight the Democrats here, too. The Democrats symbol of slavery does not deserve government support!" Posted by: Stephen Price Blair at June 24, 2015 07:16 PM (J0IP0) 12

What really needs to happen is we need to reverse engineer the benefit anyone ever received from slavery out of society. I don't mean reparations. I mean that if a slave owner ever contributed to the building fund of a historical structure, it needs to be torn down. If a port was ever used for entry of slave ships, such that its current success could in any glancing degree be traced to the income from that trade at some point in its history, the port and the city around it must be nuked, and the rubble bulldozed into the harbor to fill it.
I know it's been mentioned already, but since CNN is officially putting this forward as A Thing Which Must Be Considered, there's some other groups running about blowing up offensive monuments of the past. There's not a whisker of difference between the thought process of the Taliban, of ISIS, and of the Left regarding what they think effects the behaviors of individuals, and therefore the justification of the means to the end. If your eye makes you sin, gouge it out. The Left makes that into If your neighbor's eye is offensive to you, gouge it out. Posted by: TexasDan at June 24, 2015 07:38 PM (+fJ+k) 106

I suspect it has to do with short term memory vs. long term memory and that some people (such as me) are easily distracted in social situations. I am literally reading the exact same series as Flynn, History of Civilization and am stuck in the exact same book, the Renaissance. Durant is good but he goes on and on and on about art a bit too much for my taste. In this book, he really goes after it obviously. Ace is dead on right. Ideas matter. I remember reading the first book in this series. Ancient Greece. There was an ancient Greek city state that had a custom. A guy who wanted to introduce a law had to stand on a chair with a noose around his neck. If the law passed, they removed the noose. If the law failed, they removed the chair. I couldn't remember the name of the city state so I googled it and guess what. None other than Ronald fucking Reagan used that in a joke, of course, espousing the virtue of limited government. IDEA MEN MATTER. We need more Reagans, not RINOs. So reading what Flynn was reading blew me away. Nice. Posted by: prescient11 at June 24, 2015 07:48 PM (q5APL) 145

I just had a heapin' helpin' of that myself. It's been hot here lately, and two weekends ago I skipped mowing the lawn because I convinced myself, "hey, it doesn't look that bad." Well, by the following Tuesday it did look that bad. And then last weekend I just got lazy and skipped it again. I couldn't bring myself to go outside in the heat. Tonight I got home from work, turned on the computer, and looked at the weather forecast for this weekend. Nothing but rain, rain, and more rain. I hate mowing the lawn in the evening after working all day, but it looked like it was now or never. I steeled myself to change clothes and go out and do it. At that moment the guys who cut my neighbor's lawn showed up. I practically jumped out the window and ran over there, asking them if they could also cut mine, like right frickin' now. They quoted me $30, did it, and I gave them $35. I'm doing the Happy Dance right now. Another nice part is that they are two Americans. I asked for their card and will definitely consider them in the future. Posted by: rickl at June 24, 2015 07:54 PM (sdi6R) Posted by: Feh at June 24, 2015 07:54 PM (jWIB/) 177
Why don't we tear down the Lincoln Memorial too?
After all, here's what Lincoln had to say about blacks, in his fourth debate with Stephen Douglas: "I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, [applause]-that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." What is it about the concept of "historical context" that the left just can't comprehend? Washington, Jefferson -- and even Lincoln nearly 100 years later -- all lived in a time when the accepted wisdom was that blacks were morally and biologically inferior to whites. We know today that that thinking was wrong, but we can't judge 18th or 19th century people using 21st century standards. This PC madness is beyond idiotic. I am literally reading the exact same series as Flynn, History of Civilization and am stuck in the exact same book, the Renaissance. Durant is good but he goes on and on and on about art a bit too much for my taste. In this book, he really goes after it obviously. ... flynn says he really skims all the stuff about "Advances in Babylonian Pottery" and that stuff. i began reading it, and liked it, but as usual, stopped after 100 pages. I got a great quote out of it: "90% of history is guesswork; the rest is bigotry." Posted by: ace at June 24, 2015 07:56 PM (bhepQ) 185

The idea of Islam is that no one can be expected to maintain pure behavior unless everyone else around them is already doing so as well. So when men from the ME travel outside the ME, they whore it up and drink and whatnot and don't particularly have pangs of conscience about it--they can't be expected to resist temptation because they're surrounded with irresistible levels of it.
This is why the end game of Islam has to be world domination. It's not an interest on the part of Muslims to "save" the world, in the way that Christians approach prosylitization. Islam doesn't care so much if you choose to submit to Islam or prefer to have your head whacked off instead, so long as the end result is a world in which every single individual is focused on keeping the tenets of Islam. Only then will flawless behavior of each individual be possible, because all temptation will be eradicated. I cannot see any difference between this concept and the Left's approach to what they view as societal ills, some of which (racism) we would actually agree upon in principle. But while the conservative would address racism as an attitude of the individual and attempt to reason with them to change that attitude, the Left can only fixate on the actual physical destruction of any cultural monuments to which they can make any degree of strained connection to a given issue, and what they call "education." It would be bizzare if there weren't so many, many examples of that exact behavior in history; the totalitarian removal of any cultural artifact tied to the idea being opposed (Attaturk, for example, changed the entire male dress code), coupled with the strict enforcement of recitation of the new dogma. The Left doesn't choose not to reason with those who hold opposing views to theirs merely because they don't stand a chance in that arena. It has to do with their fundamentally bankrupt view of the individual, the value of the individual, the capability of the individual. The trans retired Navy SEAL who calls himself Christine Beck is now running for Congress in the Maryland primaries to unseat Steny Hoyer. This is something I love - when liberal ideologies clash so magnificantly against each other creating mass chaos. If Steny attacks her, will he be a woman hater? A transgender/bi/homo hater? Hilarity ensues.
On another note I found amusing, Ms. Christine Beck was having a conversation with a retired Colonel about 'her' run for Congress. She told him that she had been a Navy SEAL for 20 years and he remarked "That's amazing, I didn't know that there were any female SEALS". Ms. Beck forgot to mention that when a SEAL her name was Chris and she had those dangly things between her legs. Posted by: Cheri at June 24, 2015 08:05 PM (ZFPMM) 218

In 2008, Michelle Obama told everyone that Barack knew he was going to have to "change our history, our traditions" as a nation. This is all part of that ongoing effort. The left will re-write the history of America to suit themselves and their PC bullshit, as they are simultaneously importing a new people to replace us "bitter clingers" hanging on to our history and traditions and quaint old-fashioned notions like the rule of law and limited government and separation of powers. "My favorite Ashley Banfield moment was when she was talking to Nancy
Grace via satellite... and the same traffic was passing by behind them. They were standing about twenty feet apart. It was the best special effect since George Reeves took to the skies." My favorite moment of ridiculousness revealed was a network hairdo who had donned heavy weather gear, climbed into a kayak, and was live on camera as she floated via kayak in the "deep storm floodwaters" on which she was reporting. Only to have a couple of locals in waders go splashing past in the middle of her live shot, revealing the "storm floodwaters" to be about eighteen inches deep. I'll tell you one thing that bothers me to this day, when I first played youth baseball, we were Little League (which is a story in itself, no helmets just cloth caps, teamed by tryouts; my first at bat was as an 8 year old digging in at the plate with no helmet and a 12 y/o on the mound who threw 65 and wild). Anyways, LL insisted that we had to integrate and so we switched over to the seg-league that was Dixie Youth Baseball.
Now that we are completely integrated, why does Dixie Youth still exist? Posted by: Grump928(C) Person of Pallor at June 24, 2015 08:27 PM (rwI+c) 292
How many hear lived in the Jim Crow era?
_______________________ When I was a kid, we used to drive down to a very rural part of Virginia to visit my grandparents every summer. There were a couple of gas stations along the way that still had "whites only" signs over the drinking fountains. My parents would never stop at those stations, but my dad would slow the car down and point to the signs and explain that this was how it used to be. My siblings and I all attended Virginia public schools which had large populations of black students and we all had black friends, so we were quite taken aback by the idea of blacks being treated differently than whites. While researching my current book, I was in Colfax County, Louisiana. There is a sign there that reads:
On this site occurred the Colfax Riot in which three white men and 150 negroes were slain. This event on April 13, 1873 marked the end of carpetbag misrule in the South. It was put up in 1950. That would have been under Democrat James Davis. Those 153 people were almost certainly all Republicans. It's a sign commemorating the murder of Republicans in order to perpetuate real racism. Ace: one more excerpt, from the Acknowledgements (p. 234).
"Michael Flynn, a longtime friend and trench warrior, was the right man at the right time to run Big Government and to make sense of the wild new Obama/Pelosi/Reid big-government terrain. After fighting the activist left for so many years, his collaboration in the group takedown of the mighty, mighty corrupt ACORN is his place in history." I finally got around to reading 'Righteous Indignation' and O'Keefe's 'Breakthrough' earlier this week (after they'd been sitting on my bookshelf for well over a year), each in a single sitting, in back-to-back evenings. What's striking is Andrew's optimism at the end of the his book -- the strong belief that citizen journalists could crack the Democrat-Media Complex and save America. What's terrifying is the Complex's response to O'Keefe's investigative journalism, as documented in O'Keefe's book. Ace, I don't post, but I do read here almost every day. Keep up the fight. Like you, I do despair, but even worse, I don't do much. Am I man enough to take up the torch and do Something? Or am I a Quisling, content to keep my head down? Vox Day's recent thoughts on tactics (relating to Sad/Rabid Puppies and the Tor boycott) may be instructive to some: voxday.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-necessary-endorsement.html voxday.blogspot.com/2015/06/let-reason-be-silent.html Posted by: lurkering lurker at June 24, 2015 08:32 PM (avRTr) 299

Speaks truth: "You guys are stirring [bleep] up!" https://youtu.be/DRurnbvWf4o (All clips c/o Chicks on the Right, btw) I don't watch this stuff except when clips get posted on websites where I travel or channels to which I subscribe. And often skip those as just too insipid. I know the LaughingStock Media is doing this kind of pathetic propaganda and ambush interviews all the time, I just choose not to be exposed to it much as a rule. Usually they're just annoying, doing what one expects. Seen one, you've seen 'em all. But their usual level of stupid, combined with the incredible gormlessness of this New Civil War they're fomenting (doing just what the Charleston killer wanted) made these especially hard to watch. The non-newsfolk, Cruz, the student, the righteously indignant store owner who "refused to identify himself" are fine to see. But it's hard to suffer through the idiot spew in these clips for those gems. I had to keep hitting pause on the bobbleheads because, as I watched them, I kept getting interrupted by streams of f-words and other hate speech erupting from my mouth. They've reduced me to that. I've been a customer in the past and have always recommended your company to others. I think it's generally a bad idea to give in to radical pressure groups, especially when they are trying to rewrite history. Now they are emboldened and are talking about removing statues of Confederate generals from war memorials, and changing the names of monuments. I've been a Northerner all my life, by the way. It's time we redrew the map of the former Confederate states and renamed the newly conceived states to eliminate the legacy of racism so many perceive when they hear the words "Alabama" or "Mississippi" or "South Carolina". This applies to many cities in the former Confederate states as well - how could any person of color feel comfortable in a city named "Atlanta", a city Union General Sherman literally had to burn to the ground to end its commitment to racism?

The reason I really love gone with the wind is because it truly takes the story through every part of the civil war experience for the south from the early moments when people were happy about the war, to awfulness of waiting to hear lists of everyone who has died, to the scene that scared me as a kid of a field full of wounded and dying soldiers, civil war medicine horrors, and then the grimm aftermath trying to pay taxes and survive. 306 Sherman admired Southerners, and the fires in Atlanta were almost certainly started by retreating Confederates burning their stores. Sherman put a good part of his army to work trying to contain the fires. Who said Sherman burned it to the ground to end it's commitment to racism?
