The driving issue of the Civil War was Federal Government overreach, just like we are experiencing now. Those who do not know their History are condemned to repeat it.

I know I'll catch hell for this but aside from the more benign cultural aspects and traditions of the Old South, the Confederate Flag does have the connotation of slavery attached to it.

That said, I don't think SC or any of the southern states should touch their flags. But it is a very effective weapon the left uses. And it's only effective because no one on our side attacks them with as much ferocity and consistency on any other issue. So the meme of racist/sexist/bigoted/homophobic/misogynist/Islamophobe persists. And this non-troversy allows them to scream "see, I told you!"

Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Steve Pearce (N.M.) and Trent Franks (Ariz.) are no longer part of the whip team. It had been speculated the House GOP might take further action against other Republicans who voted against the trade deal.

And it shouldn't be. It isn't, as far as I'm aware, flying anywhere that's officially run by the State of California (yet, anyway). And that's a bit of a difference. Of course, I don't think flying the mexican flag is any more appropriate for a US citizen than I do the confederate flag. But I'm also not the sort to use the presence of one for the justification of another. Maybe there's also some confusion on what is being suggested. Either flag shouldn't be on state property, but the 1st amendment protects the display of either by citizens.

They don't like the U.S., so they're going to "fundamentally transform" it into something else. Start by flooding our borders with third-worlders and Muslims. Then destroy the rule of law. Then institute government bans on anything the progs don't like (e.g., guns, flags, speech, etc.). Then pretend that our history and traditions never existed.

Pretty soon . . . presto! The U.S. is unrecognizable, and is now the place where liberty goes to die. IOW, "Mission Accomplished" progs!
