14 Liberals Now Find Gender Identity Itself Oppressive

First: f*ck your "gender identity." Humans are sexual creatures, which means (with a few actual genetic anomalies) you have a sex, which can be either male or female. I don't give a rip how you "identify."

Second: For the "Party of Science" the Left sure seems to be very anti-science. Conservatives just assert that we haven't seen convincing proof of [Environment Disaster X]. The Left asserts that genetics are a matter of opinion.

I just hope the leftards will finally get all this bullshit out of their system and we can go back to being the exceptional country we once were.

But, knowing that we're dealing with emotional and mental children for whom nothing is ever enough, I rather doubt it.

16 Saw a street magician once who bragged he could take anyone's wallet / valuables even if they knew he was going to try. Watched him successfully lift items from 2 females. Then he tried some big dude who held his wallet in his hand and the magician couldn't get it away. He was hilarious while trying. Finally, the magician gave up and the big dude put the wallet away and started walking away. The magician called the big dude back and handed him his wallet. Still don't know how he did it, but it was amazingly entertaining.

I think of this magician when I consider what it must be like talking to a Clinton. Only the Clintons don't give your money back.

From the Jonathan Chait article.

Ummm... sorry, that's exactly what it shows, Jon-boy. How likely is it, do you think, that the professor in question will ever voice (or pen) such an opinion again? In public, anyway? The greatest threat to the right of Free Speech is exactly from things like this- from people starting witch-hunts in order to intimidate those with whom they disagree, and the Government sitting idly by while they do so.

I remain personally convinced that there is a crack team of "legislative" lawyers that work in secret for the Congressional Leadership ensuring that all perks, privileges, regulations, and legislation always benefit the DC Establishment and their cronies. The secrecy is maintained because the "special team" of lawyers are in on the game and are part of the DC Establishment.

77 5 days left till I catch RUSH on their farewell tour. The reviews have been phenomenal! So excited. They are really pulling out all the stops for this one.

The "reverse time machine" show starts with a short set from their last album, Clockwork Angels, with its attendant "steampunk" set from the last tour.

Then, as the show moves back in time, a small army of stagehands dressed like the movers on the cover of MOVING PICTURES begin changing the staging to match the time period. So, the stage itself goes back in time along with the songs.

For the Seventies set, Neil Peart is using an exact replica of his iconic double-bass drum kit with the orchestral percussion, while Ged and Alex haul out the doublenecks (yessss!).

By the end of the show, they are back to playing in a "high school gym" complete with amps (not real, of course) on chairs and replicas of their first instruments (Geddy's was a paisley Telecatser bass.)

This is gonna be so cool! We are the priests of the temples of Syrinx!

111 Why do Dems oppose Cory Gardner's push for OTC birth control pills:

Five words:
Planned Parenthood
HHS Contraceptive Mandate

Remove the pill from both of them and moves it to your local pharmacy.
They lose the power to force religious orgs to pay for it and the need for women to go to PP to get a prescription for it.

Love that Gardner is doing this - THIS is how you beat the Dems at their own game!!

112 OTC birth control pills -- Ah yes, remember when the Left was screaming that Mitt Rombley would outlaw The Pill if he was elected preezy. Good times, those.

OTC threatens Planned Parenthood two ways -- By reducing their control and revenues from dispensing taxpayer paid for BC, and by the strong probability that less pregnancies (moar access = less unplanned rabbits dying) would mean less abortions. Both reduce PP's cash flow.

One would think that a highly Progressive org with a name that implies it is ALL ABOUT better family planning would be all aboard this idea -- Unless their ox is being gored.

Progress in this case means standing still. Ah, I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

The biggest thing would be a blood test but I doubt that would be very popular. A one time comprehensive exam would screen out those most at risk for blood clots, and since your looking for mutations or known conditions, one test would be enough for life.

Honestly, this would be good policy in general because most women with clotting issues don't learn about them until they've had multiple miscarriages due to clotting and their doctors finally run the tests. This way women would know before trying to conceive that they need to take anti clotting drugs.

269 I think you can look rather chic wearing those pretty hair covering scarves, though.

Most of the Malaysian women in my undergraduate program wore very colorful and elaborately embroidered and beaded scarves (paired with baggy jeans and oversized shirts, because 1990s). Probably machine-made, but if they were stitched by hand they could hang in any textile museum.

But the one I got to know outside of class a bit wore baby-doll Ts and knee-length skirts and no scarves, because her family made her cover at home so when she was on the other side of the planet she was going to let it all hang out.

Back in the day a number of states passed laws against going out in public wearing a mask that covered your face. These laws were passed in response to the KKK wearing masks while engaging in violent acts of intimidation and terrorism. After that time, when the KKK march in public they wear hoods that show their face.

Are those KKK laws still on the books? Are they ever enforced?

What crime? There are rumors, allegations and a lot of speculation. If someone is charged with a crime, let it be in court in front of G-d and everyone, but the quaintly old-fashioned concept of "innocent until proven guilty" seems absent here. Is it because of the nature of the charges?

If someone is found guilty, let the full weight of the law fall, but darn it all, you folks are supposed to be the last stand of constitutionality.

If you look at a Democrat and you can't figure out which faction of the party they belong to - GLBT, Black, Hollyweird, Professorial, Green, Communist, Royalists etc. - then they belong to the hidden wing; the KKK. Example: to which wing do the Clintons belong? Run through all of them and they don't fit in any of them so... KKK. Come on, Bill was raised in Little Rock Arkansas in the 1950s - Hillary knew what she was getting. LBJ - the same thing. The Democrats just figured out that overt racism wouldn't play anymore and the KKK wing went underground in the 1960s when the Blacks came on board, but they are still there.

333 The tradition of women wearing head covering in Church is quite old. See, e.g., 1 Cor 11: 4-16

The Code of Canon Law of 1917 required women to wear head covering (and forbade men from doing so.)

In the 1970s the Church issued a statement saying these were just customs of the time of little practical import and were no longer mandatory, though it was still permissible.
