5 I'll bring this over, and if I end up in the barrel, I don't care. I may intensely dislike the Toronto Maple Leafs, but origin of their name is worthy of distinction:

The Maple Leaf to us, was the badge of courage,
the badge that meant home. It was the badge that reminded us all of our
exploits and the different difficulties we got into and the different
accomplishments we made. It was a badge that meant more to us than any
other badge that we could think of...so we chose it...hoping that the
possession of this badge would mean something to the team that wore it
and when the skated out on the ice with this badge on their chest...
they would wear it with honour and pride and courage, the way it had
been worn by the soldiers of the first Great War in the Canadian Army."

Damn. I guess that is the joy of living in desert?

This is sort of tangential, but a friend went to Arizona once and brought home a lizard he found just running around and put it in a terrarium with a lizard he already had, pretty soon one lizard was dead and the other had disappeared. Turns out the Arizona lizard was eaten by the original lizard, which turned out to be poisonous. He learned this by cutting the dead lizard open.

111 There's a snake that lives under my woodshed and another that lives under my front steps. I like them both because they eat mice.

Came upon the woodshed snake with a toad halfway down its throat. Over the next ten minutes I watched as the toad became a bulge inside the snake. Fascinating creature.

Oh, and something is eating my chickens. Lost two on Thursday and another one today. But the joke's on the predator: they're tough old hens good for nothing but stock anyway.

149 So, I'm sure it was brought up already, open carry in Texas has passed both houses and is on the way to Governor Abbott's pen. His words on Twitter. I doubt I would ever open carry but I still think it's an important victory for gun rights. Hardest hit...moms demand action. Hahahahahaha! There was a quote from someone from the group claiming to be a Texas gun owner who was disappointed it passed...rriiigghht, sure I believe that. I can't wait for all the shoot outs and duels to start. /s Should go into effect January 1st. I may just open carry that one day only just 'cause.
