Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl slept on his bed frame, and then the concrete floor, collected contact information, and talked about becoming a mercenary in what his squad mates now describe as behavior that laid the groundwork for his disappearance in Afghanistan nearly six years ago.

Obama is going after another huge land grab in 10 western States to protect the "sage grouse" to make it "less likely it will appear on the endangered specie list". That excuse is such transparent BS it should even choke his supporters. It is another step in his war on fossil fuels and to destroy the economy of the US. That is the only war he is succeeding at. Undoing this kind of BS should be a question asked every Republican Candidate in the primary debates. But as long as they are run by the MFM they will never be asked.

A House committee asked the WH for papers regarding their decision to build a new facility in VA instead of building the same facility at a GA location that already had existing support, as recommended by the OMB. The GA location would have been much cheaper. The WH once again refused to answer so a subpoena has been issued. That will be ignored as well. Anybody with a brain knows why they elected to build in VA. It is current is run by Democrats while GA is run by Republicans. It is called paying off cronies.

NYC school are going on yet another "diversity campaign" to end defacto segregation. All you Moron residents of NYC take note. I hope you have no kids in school because I can tell you from experience you are about to go through hell. I haven't read all this article so I don't know if the covered it or not, but these defacto segregation issues crop up because of the way people choose their location to live. In almost all cases blacks like to live around other blacks and whites like to live around other whites. It is HUMAN nature and has been that way for a millennia. No matter what they do liberal social engineers can not change that. The solution for that in the past has always been forced bussing. That should be a lot of damn fun in NYC.

I hope the lawyer types here clarify the do's and don'ts about withdrawing cash from a bank.
Apparently, I'm a criminal. But for the life of me, I can't understand how the simple act of withdrawing and hording (or spending) one's own money (other than for illegal purposes) is a crime. What Hastert did with the money was none of the Fed's business. Their problem with him was just the withdrawing in amounts smaller than 10K. It's not illegal to withdraw money in less-than 10K increments, but the way this reads, it is illegal if you are trying to withdraw it without explaining to the government what you're going to do with it. Once the government does discover you are withdrawing money, if it's not for some illegal purpose, they should leave you alone. True conservatives should get really upset over this. McCarthy's article on the sidebar defending collection of metadata is wrong.
First he says that the system only collects metadata and not personally identifiable information. The system collects phone numbers, thus it is personally identifiable. Anyone who know how to use Bing can tell you that. Second, he sites a court case that says personal information held by a third party is not covered under the 4th Amendment. My understanding though is that that case only concerned one individual and not the wholesale collection of data. Finally, he makes the point that laws require the gov't to get court approval to access the data. I don't know where McCarthy has been lately but the gov't doesn't seem too concerned about following the law. IRS, VA, DOJ, DHS, etc. Posted by: Not Loved Time to be Feared at May 29, 2015 07:44 AM (nRvEn) 57
Morning, 'rons and 'ronettes. Thanks for the news, Vic.
Here are a couple of stories starring the writer and director Joe Mankiewicz, probably best known for his helming of the wonderful, gaudy, outrageous, doomed Burton-Taylor Cleopatra. It seems that "Mank" was in Vietnam, filming he 1958 adaptation of the Graham Greene novel The Quiet American. For one scene in the film, fireworks were needed, so Mankiewicz was taken on a tour of a fireworks factory on the outskirts of Saigon. To his astonishment, he saw that many of the workers were smoking! "I understand," he said to the factory foreman, "that there was a terrible explosion here last year and that several workers were killed." "Oh," the foreman replied sadly, "every year." Also in Vietnam, working publicity, was the PR man Mike Mindlin (who starred in a story a couple of days ago with Zsa Zsa Gabor). Before filming began on The Quiet American, the Vietnamese government gave a reception to welcome the United Artists crew to Saigon. Mindlin was introduced to a lovely Vietnamese girl with the euphonious name of "Phuc," whom he took by the hand and brought across the room to Mankiewicz. "Joe," he said, "I want you to meet Miss Phuc." "Oh?" said Mankiewicz, shaking her hand, "What year?" And for this week's Ziegfeld Girl, I give you a slightly NSFW portrait of Marjorie King: http://goo.gl/V4sFVV She was a long-lived presence on the Broadway stage, appearing in various shows and revues from 1927 to 1944, though she was rather cruelly regarded as "never [managing] to become anything more than elegant human scenery." Luckily for her, in the depths of the Depression she married the railroad heir Philip Plant, who was worth a cool $15 million. Unluckily, three years after tying the knot, Plant kicked the bucket and Marjorie ended up with only $150,000 of the estate; Plant's mother and adopted son collected the rest. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Posted by: Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing at May 29, 2015 07:44 AM (zF6Iw) 58
I still don't get the Hastert thing. So, he is being prosecuted for "structuring." I thought structuring was probable cause to search for criminal conduct, specifically drug dealing, money laundering, and support of terrorism. If his "prior bad acts" were not criminal, and no charges were ever brought against him, shouldn't the person receiving the payment be investigated for blackmail? He is being prosecuted for paying off a blackmailer.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at May 29, 2015 07:40 AM (GpgJl) So the best advise is for everyone with the means to keep cash to withdraw in increments under 10K while they have no specific reason to use the cash. That way, the government can't say the person was purposefully trying to avoid the reporting requirements because there would be no compelling reason to have the cash. Unbelievable and UnAmerican. . . . .Not anymore. It is all set up so that the Fed can go after anyone they want to and pretty much be guaranteed of being able to charge them with something. It usually boils down to getting a charge of lying to the FBI or whatever agency is going after you. That is why every single Criminal lawyer in the Country tells every client to never, ever talk to the Police. I read one article where they charged a guy for lying to the Police because he remembered a date wrong. Conspiracy is another big one. McCarthy also used the example of the gov't having the military take over cities and impose martial law but they don't. Therefore this is the same situation with the collection of data. They have it but won't abuse it.
It's a weak argument because, thankfully, the gov't hasn't abusively used the military in such a fashion. Therefore there is a level of trust with the military. On the other hand, people are rightly concerned that the data being collected is going to be used against them, law or no law, and even if discovered no one will be punished. I'm not the biggest Denny Hastert fan, but that indictment is thin.
The first count is false statements, a Fed favorite when they can't prove the underlying offense. (E.g., Martha Stewart, Scooter Libby.) Shell, there often even isn't an underlying offense. The FBI and IRS send him questions, asking what he's doing with the money. It's a perjury trap. They already knew, but know he's not going to say, "I'm paying a blackmailer." Boom. False statements. 5 years. That's a law that should be reclassified as a misdemeanor. Count 2 is the "structuring" bullshit. Might as well indict Prius drivers with conspiracy to evade the gas tax. So the best advise is for everyone with the means to keep cash to
withdraw in increments under 10K while they have no specific reason to use the cash. I always get cash for checks written to me for less that 10K. The Houston newspaper has a pictorial on historic Texas floods. http://preview.tinyurl.com/p66xfse All (or nearly all of them) were in El Nino weather pattern years or due to tropical weather systems. It is not global weather change baloney. My grandfather (born in 1884) talked about the flooding Trinity and Neches rivers when he was a child and moving cattle to higher ground on horseback. This isn't even the worst flooding on record although it is pretty bad.

Ruin. Failure. Loss. Defeat. I wish that I was dead. Or, never had been born at all. Or was, at least, asleep in bed. Among all the other absurdities that are forced upon us now-a-days is the willful - not so much ignorance, but ignoring of the facts about Islam. However it started, this bullshit about Islam being a religion of peace, this collective obtuseness toward the true nature of Islam is just insane. From the founding of this country, people knew the true nature of Islam and spoke it openly (take this, spoken by J. Q. The truth is that Islam has never been a peaceful religion and what is strange is that there is nothing hidden about that fact. I don't know that much about no-child but the fact that he joined with Ted the Swimmer on anything is moocho bad and the fact that he wanted another unconstitutional federal intrusion in local schools is a major strike in my book. Posted by: JCM332 at May 29, 2015 08:58 AM (7G4i0) Not really, but I do find it interesting the hypocrisy of some people. Soros in particular, worked for the Nazis in WWII. I discovered Sanders, aka Glassberg, was a Jew by looking up his mother. Doesn't matter to me. Someone suggested we should know the mom. They were confused with his daughter not his mom. If Ann Coulter is right about the % of population of Mexico already in the U.S. illegally, shall we gather them up, train them to make their cesspool/hellhole more like what they came here for?
Or should we just invade Mexico, take it over, reform it, train the illegals to run it, and then send them home? Or how about we just invade Mexico and annex it as part of the United States and then send the illegals back home under our governing power since that seems to be what they're here for? Hey, I'm just making suggestions. Throw enough crap out there, something's bound to stick. Posted by: adsila at May 29, 2015 03:15 PM (AR612) Processing 0.05, elapsed 0.0577 seconds. |
